- James Cameron's Deep-Sea Dive Will Influence 'Avatar' Sequels
For as long as we've known about definite plans for the two planned "Avatar" sequels, James Cameron has talked openly about his ambition to explore the oceans of Pandora.
Back on Earth, Cameron has been busy exploring the oceans we all know in his solo trips to the very bottom. When MTV UK spoke with Cameron during promotions for "Titanic 3D," the director said that his dives will influence the further adventures of the Na'vi in some way. He's just not sure how yet.
"The 'Avatar' films, of which you've only seen one, will always be heavily influenced by the ocean and by my exploration and my diving and all that," Cameron said. "So I'm not sure exactly how what I find on this expedition will manifest itself in those movies, but I guarantee there will be some connection."
But before Cameron lines up his next trips to Pandora, he's urging people to experience "Titanic" on the big screen, the way it was meant to be seen. A new ad for the 3D re-release of "Titanic" provides the perfect example of how not to experience the second biggest movie of all time.
The spot begins with the classic image of Leonardo DiCaprio sketching a person most people would presume is Kate Winslet. Most people would be very, very wrong.
In her place on the couch across the way, is the Situation of "Jersey Shore" fame, posing in the buff like one of Jack's French girls. If James Cameron wanted to convince the world that "Titanic" is best seen on the big screen, mission accomplished, sir.

Переслать - Armie Hammer Claims 'Mirror Mirror' Does Snow White Best
This Friday marks the release of the first of two "Snow White" films coming out this year. Whether it wants to or not, "Mirror Mirror" will be the project that "Snow White and the Huntsman"—due out in June—will inevitably be compared to. When MTV News sat down with Prince Charming himself, Armie Hammer, the "Social Network" star said that there were no hard feelings between the two films because, put simply, he thinks "Mirror Mirror" is better.
"I'm interested to see what they did, absolutely," he said about "Snow White and the Huntsman." "I think that what we did was family friendly. Parents are going to go to it and enjoy it almost as much as the kids will. They're going to have a really good time. I think everybody will."
But Hammer wasn't going to let the interview end without putting up a bit more of an argument than that. Of course he feels his movie is better than Kristen Stewart's! And he wanted to make sure the audience feels that way too.
"Our movie kicks that movie's ass. Let's be honest. And we're out first and, I mean, come on. No, I'm just kidding," he said with a laugh, adding that he expected to be cut off by a publicist for saying that type of stuff about "Snow White and the Huntsman." When he wasn't, though, he threw down his final gauntlet.
"Our Rotten Tomatoes score is going to be so much higher," he joked.

Переслать - War Of The Five Kings: Renly Baratheon
The War of Five Kings raging throughout the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros features lots of players, not all of them likable. Joffrey Baratheon? Total jerk. Balon Greyjoy? Not as bad, but still pretty grim. Robb Stark is someone we can all root for, but like his father, humor isn't exactly his game. Which is why it's refreshing to have a friendlier face in the mix of this battle.
Someone like...
Know Your King
No stranger to royal blood and the court intrigue of King's Landing, Renly Baratheon of the Stormlands is yet another man running about Westeros calling himself king. Following the death of his elder brother Robert, Renly has taken it upon himself to become the Baratheon that Westeros needs -- but just because he's likable doesn't make him the right man for the job.Where's He From?
Renly hails from Storm's End, where he was raised by Maester Cressen alongside brothers Robert and Stannis. He served on his brother's small council during his reign as king; since Robert's death, Renly has fled Kings Landing to aggressively pursue his place as king, establishing key allies in the process. The King's Court
The young stag is surrounded by a wide assortment of trusted allies: his new wife Margery of House Tyrell for one, perhaps the wealthiest high house in the Seven Kingdoms after the Lannisters. Renly also has his elite Rainbow Guard protecting him, including warrior woman Brienne of Tarth and Renly's secret lover (and his wife's brother) Loras. What Does He Do?
Right now, aside from aligning himself with the right folks and keeping his people happy, he doesn't do much. Renly is biding his time, enjoying the possibility of kingship through entertaining tournaments, jousts and the like. A far cry from the real blood that Joffrey and Robb are currently spilling.Do We Like Him?
Besides Robb, Renly is the most likable of the five kings. But he also has the worst claim: he is the youngest Baratheon behind the still living Stannis, the final player in the war. Even if Renly is the more personable brother, the crown should technically belong to his elder--assuming anyone cares about such traditions these days, which is a big assumption.Tell us what you think of Renly in the comments or on Twitter!
Переслать - 'Anchorman 2': Our Cameo Wish List
Break out the scotchy scotch scotch: San Diego's favorite newsman is returning to the airwaves.
Will Ferrell—as alter ego Ron Burgundy—appeared on Wednesday's "Conan" to report breaking news, namely that the once-scrapped "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" sequel is now officially a go at Paramount, presumably with co-stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd returning as hapless news team members Brick Tamland and Brian Fantana.
All together now: Great Odin's raven!
Of course, the announcement sparked plenty of speculation around the MTV Newsroom. Like, how did we get here? What will a sequel look like? And, most importantly, has San Diego stayed classy in the ensuing eight years? While you contemplate those important questions, we're adding one more to the mix: Which A-listers must make cameos in the long-awaited comedy? Check out our wish list after the jump and chime in with your own picks in the comments section!
Ryan Gosling
The universe has funnyman Carell to thank for convincing Gosling to show off his funny bone in last summer's "Crazy, Stupid, Love"—a sly performance that only hinted at baby goose's comedic potential. We're not saying "Anchorman 2" should feature another newscaster melee, but if it did, we have it on good authority Gosling knows how to take a punch.Jennifer Aniston
Because, clearly, Aniston and Rudd haven't starred in enough projects together. If Brian Fantana indeed embraces his destiny as the host of "Intercourse Island," we envision Aniston as one of the reality series' train-wreck cast-offs who seduces Fantana with her Pantheress perfume and raw sexuality.Gael Garcia Bernal
Turnabout is fair play. We'd cast Ferrell's "Casa de Mi Padre" co-star Garcia Bernal in a small role as a rival German-language newscaster. Guten Tag, San Diego!Elizabeth Banks
Following in the footsteps of Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow himself, "40-Year-Old Virgin" star Elizabeth Banks would fill the token Apatow Gang cameo role. And the saucy minx's got plans. A happily every after for Ron and co-anchor Veronica Cornerstone (Christina Applegate) isn't a foregone conclusion. I mean, Ron's clearly a desirable, irresistible man. Veronica will have a foe for his affections, and that foe will be named Elizabeth Banks.Channing Tatum
If we learned anything from the high-school-set comedy "21 Jump Street," it's that Abs Tatum is actually a pretty funny guy. That, coupled with his hosting gig on "SNL," in which he donned a wig and sensible suit to film a silly Super Bowl promo ad, has us convinced he could pull of a cheesey anchor role with aplomb. Or, he could just appear as a male stripper. That works too.Who's on your "Anchorman 2" cameo wish list? Spill it in the comments and on Twitter!
Переслать - 'Wrath Of The Titans': Five More Hair Styles For Sam Worthington
When the trailer for "Wrath of the Titans" dropped, it seemed like everyone couldn't help but comment on Sam Worthington's hair, of all things. In the ten years that passed between the events of "Clash of the Titans" and "Wrath," Perseus must have been looking for something new in the hair department and decided to just grow it out.
We asked Worthington about the big to-do about his hair, and he didn't quite understand. But he did go on to success some hairstyle he could have for any future "Titans" movies.
We have a few recommendations of our own, so here are some styles that Perseus should consider for the next time around.
Katniss' Braid
With the success of "The Hunger Games" reaching the level of phenomenon, it won't be long before other franchises move to ride Katniss' coattails. If the trend of Worthington sporting longer locks continues, it shouldn't be long before he's wearing the same braid Jennifer Lawrence rocked in "Hunger Games." You can't argue with $152 million-opening weekends.Dreadlocks
Worthington's co-star in "Wrath," Toby Kebbell blazed the trail on this one. Kebbell's character Agenor rocks some enormous dreads throughout the movie, so it's conceivable that the trend caught on in the "Titans" version of Greeky mythology. Perseus could simply be the world's first copy cat.Nicolas Cage from any movie after 2004
When it comes to improbable success in action movies, Nicolas Cage has no equal. Another aspect that Cage is without a peer is ridiculous hairstyles. Ever since "National Treasure," the Academy Award winner has sported every sort of large hair, from the slicked-back mess from "Next" to the salt-and-pepper strings of "Sorcerer's Apprentice." Something about Cage's presence in an action movie has brought audiences to him, so copying that might have something to it.Robert Pattinson in "Twilight"
What other movie star has linked himself to a hairstyle quite like Robert Pattinson in "Twilight"? The spiky helmet he wore throughout the franchise became an intrinsic part of his character and led hordes of Team Edward members into theater seats. Perhaps Perseus discovers the hair gel of the gods somewhere deep down in the fires of Hades.Bleach Blond Gosling
Later this year, the Gos will go bleach blond for his next crime drama "The Place Beyond the Pines." Looking ahead to the hot hairstyles of 2012 movies, bleach blond may be the way to go. Think about it. Spy photos from the "Skyfall" set showed Javier Bardem with some lighter locks tucked underneath a police cap. Perhaps blond is the place to be and Perseus will squeeze some ancient lemons on his hair for a fairer look the next time around. What hairstyles do you want to see on Perseus if there's another "Titans" movie? Переслать - 'Skyfall' Production Diaries Profile Two New Bond Girls
by Ryan Rigley
Bond girls. James Bond girls. Thanks to the newest videoblogs posted on 007.com and MSN UK, we now have an official first look at Bond's latest femme fatales. Bérénice Marlohe, who plays Severine, and Naomie Harris, who plays Eve, will both be playing deadly women with looks that kill, following the tradition of Bond girls from movies past.
"Skyfall" shows Bond's faith in M being tested as her mysterious past comes back to haunt her. With MI6 under attack, it's up to Bond to once again seek out the threat and destroy it no matter how personally invested he is in the matter. Marlohe and Harris will be joining the already star-studded cast of "Skyfall," acting alongside heavy hitters such as Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, and Ralph Fiennes.
Click past the jump to find out more about Eve and Severine!
"Eve is a field agent. She's very capable," states Harris. "She kind of sees herself as Bond's equal. She's not, but that's how she sees herself." Harris' take on Eve appears to be tough in a way that transcends gender.
Displaying her firearm capabilities, Harris looks like she can definitely take care of herself. "I've been training for like two months now. I've mainly been doing guns; machine guns and hand guns in particular."
Marlohe's Severine also appears to be very capable of defending herself. "The first time you see her, she has a dark side," says the actress on her character. If that is the case, perhaps Severine will have something to do with the attack on MI6.
As is the norm for the series, it definitely looks like Bond will have his hands full again with this new set of Bond girls.

Переслать - Jennifer Lawrence Has Things Backwards In 'House At The End Of The Street' Trailer
Before Jennifer Lawrence headed off to Panem to become Katniss Everdeen and rule the box office, she made a relatively small thriller called "House at the End of the Street." From the looks of the trailer, she probably wished she'd taken up the bow and arrow earlier.
In the exclusive trailer, we're introduced to the events of the movie in reverse order. First, we see Lawrence's character Elissa tormented by unseen forces, but with each step backward, we get a better picture of what the hell is going on in the house at the end of the street.
Eventually, we learn that Elissa and her mother, played by Elisabeth "Adventures in Babysitting" Shue, have just rented a house, presumably somewhere near the end of a street, but not quite there. Elissa's mom informs her that the reason their rental is so cheap is that a double murder took place nearby. "Where?" you might ask. We're getting to that.
The neighbors down the street aren't what perspective renters would call ideal. Before Elissa and her mom moved into the neighborhood, the girl down the street murdered her mother and father, which did wonders for the housing market in the area. When Elissa makes friends with the surviving son, played by Max Thieriot, the past comes back to haunt her.
"House at the End of the Street" marks Jennifer Lawrence's first foray into horror, and as Hollywood's newest superstar, it will be interesting to see where her next few movies take her.
"House at the End of the Street" opens in theaters on September 21.

Переслать - Will Ferrell Announces 'Anchorman 2'
Skyrockets in flight! "Anchorman" delight!
That's right — after years and years and oh so many painful years of waiting, the news team is finally ready to assemble again. Paramount Pictures and Will Ferrell have announced that "Anchorman 2" is officially happening, with most of the film's principal cast expected to come back for another round.
That means Ferrell, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, easily the three biggest stars from the film, are all set to reprise their roles as jazz flute extraordinaire Ron Burgundy, dumb-as-a-brick Brick Tamland, and veritable sex panther Brian Fantana. Original director Adam McKay will once again step behind the lens, as well as co-write alongside Ferrell.
The announcement of "Anchorman 2" happened in grand fashion, too, with all the bells and whistles and flutes you'd expect from such a mighty occasion. Ferrell appeared on "Conan" last night (March 28) fully in character as Burgundy, fluting up a storm and insulting the ginger-haired talk show host at every turn. His nearly five-minute appearance culminated with the announcement that another "Anchorman" is officially a go at Paramount. Check out the reveal for yourself in the video below:
In short: we're all going to Pleasure Town!
Are you psyched for another "Anchorman" movie? What do you hope to see next from the legend of Ron Burgundy and his epically moronic news team pals? Tell us in the comments section below or hit us up on Twitter!
Переслать - War Of The Five Kings: Balon Greyjoy
Not all of the would-be kings of "Game of Thrones" season two are familiar faces. We love to hate Joffrey, and we love to love Robb, but there are other players in the mix who are simply too new to get an immediate read on. In our third day examining the War of the Five Kings, we're looking at one of the new characters vying for the Iron Throne...
Know Your King
"What's dead may never die." So speak the worshipers of the Drowned God of the Iron Islands. This area of Westeros is ruled by the cold and calculated Balon Greyjoy, yet another of the key players eyeballing a crown in season two of "Game of Thrones." Unlike his competition, however, Balon's a veteran when it comes to playing this particular game.Where Is He From?
Balon and House Greyjoy make their home on Pyke of the Iron Islands of Westeros, just southwest of Winterfell and within striking distance of Lannisport and Casterly Rock. A seaborn warrior, Balon and his men are most at home on water, as made clear by the Iron Islands' considerable fleet. The King's Court
Lord Greyjoy is surrounded by equally salty advisors. First and foremost is his daughter Yara, far from a damsel in distress -- think Arya, but grown up and a master of the sea. Balon also has brothers he can depend on to varying degrees: Aeron Damphair, the drowned prophet, is the first we'll meet, while the barbaric Victarion and trickster Euron are sure to come eventually. Another party soon to arrive at Pyke: Theon, ally of Robb Stark, estranged son of Balon Greyjoy. What Does He Do?
More importantly is what he's already done. This is not Balon Greyjoy's first attempt at winning the Iron Throne. He previously rebelled against the crown and was crushed by the forces of Lord Eddard Stark, losing the lives of his two oldest sons in the process. As part of peace terms between Pyke and the Seven Kingdoms, Balon was forced to surrender his son Theon to Lord Stark's custody as a hostage -- a harsh term for a boy who was more or less raised as part of the Stark family. This history is crucial to understanding Balon and the way he treats the people around him, Theon especially.Do We Like Him?
Not especially. He's a hard, willful man who is dead set on winning the Iron Throne. He won't negotiate, he won't make allies -- particularly not with Robb Stark, who he links to his own previously failed rebellion. The way he's able to influence Theon's loyalties, too, is a big strike against Balon Greyjoy.Tell us what you think of the would-be king in the comments section or on Twitter!
Переслать - Gael Garcia Bernal Faces 'Twittervention' In New After Hours
In an age where social media sites rule the internet, the stars have flocked to Twitter in order to promote their latest projects, raise awareness about charities they support and interact with their fans. But some celebrities aren't using the site to its fullest potential.
MTV News' Josh Horowitz thinks Gael Garcia Bernal is one of them. The "Casa de mi Padre" star is about 83,000 followers shy of one million.
When asked why he doesn't have one million followers, the actor initially replied, "I don't put enough photos of me naked." That's probably true. It could also be because he doesn't usually tweet in English. As a native of Mexico, his first language is Spanish. Olé! (That's about all we know.)
Regardless of why, Horowitz wants to help by giving Bernal a few tips to boost his loyal follower count. He gives racy topics Bernal should tweet about and a few suggestions for a new Twitter handle. Everybody loves porn and kittens, right?
Are you following Bernal? Any tips on what he could do to gain more followers? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!
