  • Justin Bieber Reveals His Own 'Boyfriend' Secrets

'You're always wrong when it comes to girls, you're always wrong, so just say sorry when things are rough,' Bieber tells E! News.

Selena Gomez is one lucky lady! With the release of his new single, "Boyfriend," Justin Bieber is now sharing his own relationship advice, which seems to be working since he and Gomez have been dating for over a year.

"To be a great boyfriend, you just have to have patience," Bieber told E! News. "You're always wrong when it comes to girls, you're always wrong, so just say sorry when things are rough."

On Bieber's latest single, he makes all the girls' hearts melt when he sings, "If I was your boyfriend, never let you go/ Keep you on my arm, girl, you'd never be alone/ I can be a gentleman, anything you want," but many are wondering if he had Gomez in mind when writing the track.

"No, I mean the song definitely just comes from my heart and whatever that is, whatever is in there," Justin said. "So, I mean, I'll never let you go if you're my girlfriend, I promise."

It seems like Gomez might be sticking around for a while, then! In an interview with Radio Disney's "Celebrity Take With Jake," Bieber may have also revealed the secret as to why their relationship is still going so strong.

"You just have to be honest, that's the first thing, because if you're not honest, then the relationship is just not a good relationship," Bieber said. "At the end of the day, your girl would appreciate you being honest more than lying to her and vice versa."

It probably doesn't hurt the relationship when your boyfriend's idea of a date is to rent out the Staples Center for a private viewing of "Titanic."

So with Bieber gearing up to release Believe and Gomez hard at work shooting "Spring Breakers," will these two find time to possibly collaborate on a track?

"I mean, yeah," Bieber told Billy Bush Tuesday (March 27) on "Access Hollywood Live." "If it would happen before, it's going to happen now. There's no difference. If we do a song together, we do a song together. It is what it is. I think she's taking a little break from music for a while. She's just doing her acting."

Would you want Justin and Selena to collaborate on a song? Let us know in the comments.

  • Pitbull Would Love To 'Follow In Will Smith's Footsteps'

'He's the blueprint of what any artist in the music business would look up to,' Pit tells MTV News on the set of 'Men in Black III' music video.
By Rob Markman, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf

He wants it all, chico. Pitbull is a proven hitmaker, so it's no wonder that he was tapped to record "Back in Time," the first single from the upcoming "Men in Black III."

Who knows? Maybe the union will lead to a future Hollywood collaboration. Not only is Pit a fan of the "Men in the Black" franchise; he's a big fan of star Will Smith as well.

"I think he's the blueprint of what any artist in the music business would look up to and idolize what he's done," Pit told MTV News on Monday night from the L.A. set of his "Back in Time" video. "As far as not only in the music business, but also in Hollywood, how he's gone from not only one of the best artists musically [to] also one of the best actors, I would say, around the world."

It was Big Willie himself who recorded the theme songs for the first two installments of the "MIB" trilogy (1997's "Men in Black" and 2002's "Black Suits Comin' "). Now, Pit takes the reins and looked to a sample of Mickey and Sylvia's 1950s classic "Love Is Strange" for inspiration. According to the Miami rap artist, the song falls right in line with the upcoming film's time-traveling plotline.

Pitbull is looking forward to the day he and Smith can collaborate again.

"I think in every way, shape and form, we'd love to follow in Will Smith's footsteps," he said. "We're working on the music for the movie, and hopefully, one day, we'll work in a movie together."

Check out everything we've got on "Men in Black III."

  • 30 Seconds To Mars, Linkin Park Face Elimination In Musical March Madness

With Sweet 16 voting set to close at tonight at midnight, battles between several MMM heavyweights are too close to call!
    By James Montgomery

    Photo: Getty Images

When we tipped off the Musical March Madness Sweet 16 on Monday, we told you that things were about to get interesting ... and, well, we weren't lying.

Because as our bracket got smaller, only the best of the best remained. And with so many big-name bands still alive in the quest for the MMM championship — heavyweights like Green Day, Linkin Park, Paramore and Evanescence — the matchups were only going to get tougher. We knew that this was the round where the mighty would begin to fall.

And, after one day of voting, that looks like it's going to be the case. Sure, there's still time to help your favorites advance to the next round — voting in all Sweet 16 matchups closes tonight at midnight ET — but with just hours to go, there are plenty of MMM favorites who are teetering on the brink of total elimination ... and even more matchups that are just too close to call. Here's an update from deep inside Musical March Madness headquarters.

Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket!

#2 Paramore vs. #6 30 Seconds to Mars

We knew right away that this was going to be one for the ages, and so far, the tilt between Paramore and 30 STM has lived up to the hype. Spurred on by their fanatic fanbases, the two bands have been exchanging the lead for 24 hours now; early Tuesday, the Echelon helped boost Jared Leto and company to a rather commanding lead, but the Para-clan have rallied, and with less than 10 hours to go before polls close, it's Paramore who now cling to a slim lead. But we do mean slim: With nearly 1 million votes cast, it's Paramore by less than 4,000 ... so really, this one is going to come right down to the wire. Can Paramore move one step closer to avenging last year's championship game loss, or will 30 Seconds to Mars finally make it to the Elite 8 (after two Sweet 16 heartbreakers?) It's up to you to decide ... and we can't wait to see who comes out on top in this thriller.

#1 Evanescence vs. #5 Linkin Park

As the last remaining #1 seed in the MMM tournament, Evanescence's march to the championship game seemed all but assured ... until they ran into tourney-tested Linkin Park, who had a sizeable chip on their shoulders after last year's Sweet 16 defeat. Like Paramore/30 STM, this one pits two rabid fanbases against each other, and the back-and-forth results speak for themselves. Upset-minded Linkin Park jumped out to the early lead, but as Tuesday wore on, Evanescence seized the momentum, and with hours to go, it's Amy Lee and the crew up by some 5,000 votes (with more than 600,000 cast). If LP want to advance, they're going to have to stage a late rally ... because right now, it's looking very bleak indeed. Still, as the past day has shown us, you can't count them out just yet.

#5 Green Day vs. #16 James Durbin

The defending MMM champs are getting all they can handle from this year's giant-killer, "American Idol" fave James Durbin. Having already knocked off #1 Foo Fighters and #8 Best Coast, Durbin looks to follow in the footsteps of #16 Sum 41, who made an improbable run to the Elite 8 in last year's tourney. He fell behind early, but in true underdog fashion, Durbin's been rallying all day ... and he's closing the gap by the minute. Can he shock the world? Did Green Day get too complacent? How many bandanas will Durbin wave triumphantly if he manages to advance? All of those questions and more will be answered in the coming hours, but right now, there's the potential for a huge upset brewing here.

Is your favorite band still alive in the Sweet 16? Do you want to avenge an early exit? Well, get voting ... polls in the Sweet 16 close tonight at midnight ET, and then we'll head on to the Elite 8! The MMM title is within reach, and you can determine who'll grab it.

MTV's 2012 Musical March Madness tournament has reached the Sweet 16! Voting runs until midnight ET on Tuesday, March 27, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act is still alive, it'll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — but get ready, it only gets more difficult from here on out.

  • 'Buried Life' Guys Aim For Best-Seller List With New Book

'You can open any page and something can spark in you to do whatever you want to do,' Ben Nemtin tells MTV News of 'What Do You Want to Do Before You Die?'
    By Uptin Saiidi

    Photo: Artisan

They've gone bull-riding, streaked across soccer stadiums and played ball with President Obama. Now the guys from MTV's "The Buried Life" say it's time to cross off the next item on their list: Write a New York Times best-seller. With their first book, "What Do You Want to Do Before You Die?" hitting book shelves on Tuesday (March 27), they're hoping to make good on that goal.

Since wrapping the second season of their docu series, the guys — Ben Nemtin, Jonnie Penn, Duncan Penn and Dave Lingwood — have traveled the country speaking on college campuses squeezing in time to assemble their book. When the crew stopped by MTV News recently, they told us they've basically been working on "Before You Die" for five years.

"When we started [shooting] 'Buried Life,' we wish we had something like [this] book," Penn recalled of their pre-MTV days.

"We were all in college when this thing started and we wish there was somewhere to go to talk about doing crazy things that you want to do in your life. Now this [book], if you go to your friend's house and this is sitting on the coffee table, you know you're like-minded."

Over the past few years, thousands of fans submitted buried lists of the things they wanted to do before they died on "The Buried Life" Facebook page. From there, the guys picked their favorite 150 to include in the book. The pages are also filled with illustrations, quotes, lessons and never-been-told stories like how it felt to play basketball with the president.

As the group prepares to tackle the next item on their list, Nemtin said he hopes the book will inspire others to believe they can accomplish their own goals and dreams.

"We didn't start this to make a TV show," Nemtin said. "We started this because we felt like we needed to do something and we all got inspired by different things that made us believe we could do anything we wanted. We want this book to give that feeling to anyone who reads it. You can open any page and something can spark in you to do whatever you want to do."

  • Felix Cartal Builds On Miami Momentum With Different Faces

'I want people to remember it,' EDM up-and-comer tells MTV News of just-released album.
    By Nicholas Philippou

    Felix Cartal
    Photo: MTV News

Felix Cartal is one of the most promising young stars of EDM, a fact that became even clearer at this year's Miami Music Week, where he played multiple shows days before the release of his latest album.

Cartal's Different Faces was unleashed on iTunes on Tuesday (March 27) under Steve Aoki's Dim Mak label. Fresh off of his second Ultra Music Festival appearance and the success of his latest single, "Don't Turn on the Lights," Cartal told MTV News he's been eager for the album's release.

"It's been the last year of my life kind of putting this thing together," Cartal said. "The record's basically all that's going on in my life. I want people to remember it, and hopefully it means something to them."

MTV News was able to catch some of Cartal's set at the National Hotel during Miami Music Week, and it was obvious that "Don't Turn on the Lights," featuring Polina, has become a certifiable breakthrough hit. But what was most surprising was how many of Cartal's fans could be seen singing so many of his songs throughout the set.

"I play all the singles every set, and everyone was singing along today," Cartal said. "I don't think you can ever get tired of that feeling."

He may not have to, because his new album is loaded with potential smashes, already finding tracks trickling into some sets of the biggest DJs in the world. The record will feature some collaborators that EDM fanatics have followed, like Miss Palmer, whom he works with on "Black to White"; Miss Palmer is best known to EDM fans for "No Beef," one of the biggest tracks of 2011 by Afrojack and Steve Aoki.

Cartal also combined with Sebastien Grainger, from Death From Above 1979, and his contribution on "H.U.N.T." pushes the album's boundaries beyond EDM.

"I think that's what moves music forward, because anytime genres are colliding, I think that's what helps music become something new," Cartal said. "I think a lot of people thought that electronic music was just going to be a passing phase, and I kind of compare it to rap music, where it kind of brought a whole culture with it, and I think that's why it's lasted and continued to grow."

Cartal told MTV News his next move will be a two-month tour through May, touring major cities and finishing up at the Sasquatch Festival in Washington. And since he's part of the Dim Mak family, and because he's such a nice guy, we asked if he even had it in him to cake someone, à la Steve Aoki.

"I've got it in me to cake someone," Cartal said. "It'll happen eventually — at one of Steve's shows, though. I don't want to bite on his thing."

Miami Music Week is a wrap, but stick with MTV News as we continue to roll out the latest EDM news and behind-the scenes interviews with your favorite dance music stars!

  • Justin Bieber Will Change 'The Landscape' With Believe

Producer Mike Posner says Bieber's next album will make pop artists 'go back to the drawing board.'
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kara Warner

    Justin Bieber
    Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images

This week, Justin Bieber dropped his single "Boyfriend," marking his first step toward making more mature-sounding pop tunes. Co-producer Mike Posner told MTV News that Bieber's upcoming Believe album displays how far he's come since the sugary sweet ditties of his My World days.

"I think our goal was to make something that me and my friends could listen to in the car," Posner explained. "I think we've all known Justin since he was 13, and that's not the kid I was in the studio with anymore. He's an 18-year-old. He skateboards with Lil Wayne and hangs out with Lil Twist. Those are his homies. And he listens to hip-hop and he's a really cool kid. He's not like a corny guy.

"So I wanted to make something that reflected who he is now and who he is going to continue to be," Posner added. "We're still working more on the project and it sounds really incredible. I think people have been waiting [for] when he's going to turn that corner, and the time is now."

Believe isn't going to change just Bieber's career, but all of pop music, Posner added. "He's kind of bringing soul back, and rhythm and blues back and definitely hip-hop into his music. I'm really excited to see how it's going to change the landscape, and I know a lot of artists are going to have to go back to the drawing board."

"Boyfriend" is the lead single off Believe, which will drop later this year. A video is currently in the works, but no release date has been announced.

  • Which 'Twilight' Character Would Win Hunger Games?

For 'Twilight' Tuesday, we imagine the vampires and wolves in a battle to the death.
    By Kara Warner

    Taylor Lautner in "Breaking Dawn"
    Photo: Summit

Like most of our fellow "Twilight" fans, we spend a lot of time thinking about and overanalyzing the mythical world Stephenie Meyer created and the record-breaking film franchise it spawned. And even though we still have too many months to wait to see "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," the wait was made slightly less painful this week due to a couple of new trailer teases.

Since we've had the series on the brain more than usual this week, along with the countless stories about "The Hunger Games" reaching "Twilight"-level numbers, I've decided to philosophize my way through this week's "Twilight" Tuesday with the question: If the Cullens and the wolf pack were featured in a "Hunger Games"-style, fight-to-the-death tournament organized by the Volturi (of course), who would come out a victor?

The first thing to address is who would be reaped into the tournament? And how many? If we go with 24, the ranks are difficult to fill out due to a lack of named weres. Nevertheless, here are the contenders (including a few of those who don't live through the end of the series): Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, Jacob Black, Carlisle Cullen, Esme Cullen, Alice Cullen, Emmett Cullen, Rosalie Hale, Jasper Hale, Renesmee Cullen, Sam Uley, Quil Ateara V, Embry Call, Paul Lahote, Jared Cameron, Leah Clearwater, Seth Clearwater, Collin Littlesea, Brady Fuller, James, Victoria, Laurent, Riley Biers and one of the unnamed wolves from the end of "Breaking Dawn" who show up as part of Sam's pack. Whew.

Now, who will be defeated and how? My colleague Katie Byrne makes the very astute point that the Cullens are total pacifists and will not kill each other, no matter what. I say that Jasper might be the one to crack, since he doesn't always have total control over his actions, but the rest of the Cullens will probably rein him in and quarantine him or something. Also, as much as it pains me to admit it, the vampires will likely outlast the werewolves (confession: I prefer wolves to vamps), particularly the Cullens with their supernatural abilities. But again, would the Cullens allow the seemingly needless fights-to-the-death to happen? This is a Volturi-created death match after all, so they might make like the end of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" and save everyone. Except for James, Victoria, Laurent and Riley, of course.

Ms. Byrne argues that if the Volturi did somehow succeed in making the tournament end in death and destruction, the Cullens would all join hands, eat a few handfuls of nightlock (assuming that the poisonous berry also works on non-humans), and end the "Games" with a civilized, non-bloody mass suicide. Or the Volturi might recognize the Cullens' value (just like the Gamemakers did) and let them live — under the constant threat of death and destruction, that is.

Who do you think would win the "Twilight" Hunger Games? Share your thoughts in the comments or tweet me @karawarner with your theories!

  • Michael Bay To 'Ninja Turtles' Fans: We Won't Let You Down!

'Everything that is near and dear to fans will still be there,' director Jonathan Liebesman tells MTV News after producer catches flak for reboot.
    By Kara Warner

    Michael Bay
    Photo: Dr. Billy Ingram/WireImage

Who could have predicted that a Michael Bay-produced re-imagining of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" would cause such a stir? While fans were largely onboard for a reboot, the tide turned when Bay recently announced that he would give our half-shell heroes an alien origin story.

Fan reaction to the news has been negative, to say the least. So much so that Bay has already twice taken to his Shoot for the Edit message board to tell fans that the reboot will not disappoint. On Tuesday (March 27), Bay hit the boards again, promising that the new movie will include "everything you remember" from the original; he also explained why the film's name is "Ninja Turtles," not "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

"Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple," he wrote.

"The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers," he added. "Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan [Liebesman], the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE'S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN."

Speaking of Liebesman, MTV News caught up with the director as he promoted his latest, "Wrath of the Titans," and he seemed to share Bay's sentiment, saying the new version will preserve "the essence" of the original.

"What's important to me are the characters that Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created, the essence is preserved, and we're true to that," Liebesman said. "And everything that is near and dear to fans will still be there, every new thing we think of is tied into the mythology. We're not going to betray anything that has been there before — I'm a fan myself."

"Ninja Turtles" is due in theaters Christmas 2013.

  • Madonna Embraced By Ultra Music Fest All-Stars

'I think Madonna always looks for the new, fresh thing,' Tiësto tells MTV News about the Queen of Pop.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Akshay Bhansali

Madonna made a splash when she took the stage alongside Avicii at the Ultra Music Festival last weekend, and her appearance there has continued to garner headlines, in part thanks to a now-deflated feud with Deadmau5. But the buzz about the Queen of Pop co-signing EDM in such a major way is not lost on the genre's shiniest stars.

"It was one of the big highlights of my career, not to mention of my entire lifetime," Avicii told MTV News about Madge's cameo at the annual dance music festival in Miami. Her love affair with the genre continues to grow, and evidenced by MDNA's pulsing beats, dark electronic melodies and sexy anthems about finding love on the dance floor.

"I think Madonna always looks for the new, fresh thing," Tiësto told MTV News in Miami. "And she's always been about what I always [say,] 'Don't imitate, innovate.' And she's always been at the top of her game ... and I'm very curious to see what she's up to next, but I can only respect her that she's been around so many years. It's an inspiration."

In addition to Orbit, Madonna has worked with other EDM all-stars, including Benny Benassi and Martin Solveig. And it's those ties that bind her so closely to the genre.

"I think Madonna's always flirted with dance music, even from the beginning," Tommy Trash explained. "Like all that '80s stuff, you know? I think what she's doing is great; she's like a legend and I'd love to work with her."

That history with dance music is not lost on BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong. "I think she's been, from the very first day I heard about her, she was on the dance floor at Danceteria, [the] legendary club in New York City," he recalled. "Every single record, she has embraced the dance culture, or one element of it of the day, throughout her career."

Michelle Obama will appear at Nickelodeon's 25th annual Kids' Choice Awards to present a special award to Taylor Swift.

The first lady will be on hand to honor Swift with the Big Help Award, in recognition of her philanthropic efforts, including work with U.S. tornado and flood survivors. Obama herself was the recipient of the award in 2010, in recognition of her Let's Move! Campaign, which champions healthier lifestyles for kids. And, as if that weren't enough to establish her Nick cred, earlier this year, Obama also appeared on a special episode of "iCarly" to promote her Joining Forces initiative to support military families.

The Big Help Award is given to individuals who take actions to better the world and whose impact on their community has inspired kids to do the same. Among her many charitable works, Swift is dedicated to raising funds and awareness to benefit those affected by natural disasters, including opening the last dress rehearsal of her Speak Now Tour to fans as a fundraiser for victims of the 2011 tornadoes that tore through the Southeast. She also works with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the St. Jude Medical Center, Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross.

Previous winners of the Big Help Award include Justin Timberlake and Leonardo DiCaprio. Kids can pledge to make a difference in their community by going to the Big Help website, where they can learn how to take positive actions that will directly affect their communities.

The 25th annual Kids' Choice Awards air live Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon. Someone will surely be slimed — probably not Michelle though.

  • Curren$y 'Learned More About The Business' Dealing With Damon Dash

MC talks to MTV News about working with the former Roc-A-Fella CEO, whom he is reportedly suing for selling his music without permission.
    By Rob Markman

Curren$y and Damon Dash may not see eye to eye, but the Hot Spitter admits that he learned a lot trying to do business with his one-time friend. On Sunday, TMZ reported that Curren$y filed a lawsuit against Dame claiming that the former Roc-A-Fella CEO was selling his music without permission and is now seeking $1.5 million in damages.

During an interview with MTV News last week, the New Orleans MC admitted that he has learned a lot working with Dash, as well as other notable CEOs he was once signed to like Master P and Birdman. "You run the list, I've picked up game from all of them, man, Master P, Baby. Me and Wayne made hours and hours and hours and hours' worth of music in the studio, Dame," Curren$y told MTV News on March 21. "I been around some people, made moves and soaked it all up."

In the early 2000s, Curren$y, as a member of the 504 Boyz, was signed to No Limit Records, where he appeared on a number of label releases. "What I got from P was the amount of projects there should always be, something happening from your label to keep you relevant," he said. "Something should always be poppin'."

He then inked with Lil Wayne's Young Money company, developing a unique recording process alongside Weezy, with whom he appeared on several mixtape tracks. "What I got from Cash Money, what I got from being around Wayne so much I guess the studio work," he said. "We had the same work ethic and that's how I realized I wasn't crazy." Next Curren$y hooked up with Dame Dash's DD172 label, and together they released Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II in 2010. According to TMZ, while both albums were released through Dash's label, the two had never reached a concrete agreement. Spitta then went ahead and signed with Warner Bros., where he dropped Weekend at Burnie's through his own imprint, Jet Life, in 2011.

Now Curren$y is demanding that Dame stop selling his LPs. Dash claims that he is well within his rights and that the rapper did in fact grant him permission, but a judge has yet to rule on the case. Even though the union is now marred in negativity, Curren$y contends that it was a learning experience. "With my last situation, I think I've learned more about the business," he said, referencing Dame's DD172. "I've learned more about the business through that prior situation."

"American Idol" contestant Erika Van Pelt may have disagreed with the judges' critiques of her rendition of Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind," but with the help of famed designer Tommy Hilfiger, she may have stolen the show when she drastically changed up her hairstyle from mid-length blond to a short black cut. But unfortunately for Van Pelt, it wasn't enough to save her from elimination from the show.

Even though Van Pelt won't be rocking out on the "Idol" stage anymore, she has no regrets about her makeover.

"I love it, and it's funny 'cause everyone was so shocked," Van Pelt told MTV News on Monday. "I've gotten good responses, but they're like, 'Wow you really did that? You'd be bold enough and audacious enough to do that?' But the funny thing is people don't know I do this at home. I've been doing this my entire life."

And it seems that she's not the only one who is enjoying her new look, which she said she was planning for quite some time.

"My friends, my family, my fanbase were really digging it," she said. "It helped me come out of my shell a little bit more. When Tommy Hilfiger came on as an image consultant, we started to talk about it. I had already had it in my mind that I wanted to do something drastic with it. I didn't know what, so when I got the green light, I went crazy."

Van Pelt, who will stay with the shorter hairstyle but might change the color, is now looking forward to hitting the road for the "Idol" tour. But after that, she is ready to branch out on her own.

"After the tour is done, I honestly want to get right to work," she said. "I want to work on my first album, I want to do a ton of writing, I even want to get involved in acting and musical theater. I would love to be involved maybe on Broadway. I'm just a hard worker and I don't care, 12-, 16-hour days, I'll put the work in this. It's what I want to do."

During her time on "Idol," Van Pelt drew comparisons to Pink, Kelly Clarkson and Janis Joplin, but it's British songstress Jessie J who the singer truly admires.

"I've been listening to a lot of Jessie J. She's totally amazing," the singer revealed. "She's got millions of fans and I still think she's underrated — amazing vocals and she's fearless. She doesn't make any excuses for who she is ... she's just totally 100 percent herself."

The two singers have more in common than you might think.

"Actually, for a while I had the shoulder-length dark hair with the straight-across bangs," Van Pelt said. "That was before I started listening to Jessie J, and then I saw her and I was like, 'Whoa!' "

What do you think of Erika's new look? Let us know in the comments.

  • Justin Bieber In Hot Water After Phone Number Prank

After Bieber allegedly tweeted nine digits of a Texas phone number, two local residents are threatening legal action.
    By James Montgomery

Earlier this month, Justin Bieber decided to have a little fun with his 19 million Twitter followers when he posted a mysterious phone number and told them "call me right now."

In the tweet — which has since been deleted (but can be seen here ... with the number blocked out) — Bieber included just nine digits of a Texas number, leaving the true Beliebers to figure out the rest ... which, not surprisingly, caused some headaches for folks who had similar numbers. And now, two of them reportedly have threatened legal action.

According to TMZ, a pair of Texas residents (a woman named Dilcie and a man named Kent) have hired an attorney, claiming that since the tweet, their phones have been ringing non-stop. And they're seeking compensation from Bieber for his "reckless" behavior.

The attorney tells the site that her clients received more than 1,000 phone calls from Bieber fans, at all hours of the day, and their patience "wears thin." So they're looking for restitution, which could come in any number of forms: An apology from JB himself, concert tickets for Dilcie's grandchildren, an endorsement for Kent's "upcoming online project," or — of course — cold, hard cash.

Kent, who doesn't want his last name to be revealed, subsequently told ABC News that he's had his number for 20 years, and he doesn't want to change it just because of Bieber. Of course, there is a question about whether Justin's initial tweets were even authentic, or if his account was somehow hacked. A spokesperson for the singer did not respond to MTV News' request for comment by press time.

  • 'Hunger Games' Star Liam Hemsworth: What's Next?

Two films with Dwayne Johnson, a Vietnam War romance and 'The Expendables 2' are in the Aussie actor's future.
    By Fallon Prinzivalli

    Photo: MTV News

With "The Hunger Games" slaughtering its competition at the box office this past weekend, everyone's eyes are locked on the movie's three main stars to see what's next. For those of you who loved Liam Hemsworth's short but sweet scenes as Katniss Everdeen's best friend, Gale, you're in luck.

While we're sure the Aussie actor is enjoying the benefits of working hard on the film, he's not sitting around waiting to film the sequel. He has quite a few other films in the works. Here are a few things to look forward to from the youngest Hemsworth brother.

First on the list is his role as Bill "the Kid" Timmons, the newest addition to Sylvester Stallone's team, in "The Expendables 2." Mr. Church, played by Bruce Willis, enlists the Expendables for a job that seems like an easy paycheck. But when a member of the crew is brutally murdered, the Expendables seek revenge and find themselves on enemy turf with an unexpected threat looming over their heads. Also returning to the movie are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews. Yu Nan joins Hemsworth as another of the team's newcomers in the film, which is set to release on August 17.

After watching Hemsworth battle it out in that action flick, you can catch him in a different type of warring film titled "AWOL." Based on a true story, the film follows a young Vietnam soldier who returns home to the States in search of his newly ex-girlfriend. Austin Stowell plays the broken-hearted soldier, Joiner, and Aimee Teegarden plays Juniper, his high school sweetheart. Hemsworth stars as Joiner's best friend, Wright, who accompanies him on the risky journey. The backdrop of the film, which will be released later this year, is the anti-war movement at the University of Michigan.

Josh Hutcherson isn't the only 'Hunger Games' actor who may be working with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Next year, Hemsworth will star alongside the wrestler-turned-actor in "Empire State." Also based on a true story, the movie follows a plan set in motion by two childhood friends (one of whom will be played by Hemsworth) to rob an armored car depository. Johnson plays an NYPD officer who attempts to stop the cash heist, and Emma Roberts joins the cast as a waitress who takes interest in Hemsworth's character.

Then, in 2014, Johnson and Hemsworth will reunite for "Arabian Nights." The tale weaves together some of our favorite adventures as a young commander named Ali Baba (Hemsworth) teams up with Sinbad (Johnson), Aladdin and Aladdin's genie in order to rescue Scheherazade and her kingdom from the dark forces of a sorcerer.

And, of course, you will see Hemsworth reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne in the November 22, 2013, release of "Catching Fire." Gale will be in the picture more often this time around, and we're excited to see how Hemsworth develops the character.

Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

  • Game Calls Trayvon Martin Death Proof 'Stupidity Still Exists'

'We as a people have always been targeted,' Compton MC tells MTV News of teen's racially charged shooting death.
By Rob Markman, with reporting by Felicia Morris

    The Game
    Photo: MTV News

The tragic killing of Trayvon Martin has had Americans across the country rallying for justice. But rapper Game believes, as others do, that the 17-year-old's death is part of a deeply rooted racial issue.

"I think that from the beginning of mankind, we as a people have always been targeted," the Compton MC told MTV News on March 22.

On February 26, Martin was shot dead by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman as he walked back to the home of a family friend in a gated Sanford, Florida, community. Zimmerman told police that he believed Martin — who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt — looked suspicious. After a call to 911, the dispatcher advised him not to pursue Martin. But Zimmerman reportedly ignored those instructions and pursued Martin anyway.

When police arrived on the scene, the teen was dead. Although Zimmerman admitted to the shooting, police declined to arrest him citing the state's Stand Your Ground law, which allows a person to kill in cases of self-defense. Trayvon's parents, community leaders and protestors were outraged and have been crying for justice ever since.

"For some, reason people don't think that they need any excuse to kill us, beat us, hit us, run us over, disrespect us or anything like that," Game said of the country's history of racial tension and violence.

"I'm far from racist," he continued. "I'm very educated and intellectual and I understand how life works and how people of all colors exist under the sun, but it just seems like more than not black people are, I don't know, there's always some negative occurrence that goes on in our existence. This is just another reminder that stupidity still exists."

On Monday, the Orlando Sentinel reported that unidentified investigators in the case told them that Zimmerman had a different take on the events of February 26. The 28-year-old told law enforcement that Martin struck him and bashed his head on the ground before he shot the teenager in the chest, killing him.

  • Black Keys Start Beef With Spotify's Sean Parker

'He's an a--hole,' drummer Patrick Carney says of Parker in response to claims the Spotify board member made at SXSW.
    By James Montgomery

    Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images

At this point, you're probably aware that the Black Keys' Patrick Carney has taken over the Noel Gallagher/Brandon Flowers role as the industry's "oft-quoted sh-- talker" — a list of his recent accomplishments includes beefing with Lady Gaga fans, calling Nickelback "crap" (though he subsequently sorta apologized), and singling out members of the media as being "pricks" — and he's living up to the title with his latest comments that take shots at Napster founder/ Spotify boardmember Sean Parker.

In a new interview with Michigan radio station WGRD, Carney took issue with Parker's recent comments that within two years, Spotify would overtake iTunes in total revenue, mostly because, well:

"Because [Parker's] an a--hole. That guy has $2 billion that he made from figuring out ways to steal royalties from artists, and that's the bottom line," Carney said. "You can't really trust anybody like that. The idea of a streaming service, like Netflix for music, I'm totally not against it. It's just we won't put all of our music on it until there are enough subscribers for it to make sense."

The subscription-based Spotify would have to really churn and burn if it wants to catch iTunes in terms of revenue (iTunes sells individual tracks, and controls roughly 70 percent of the U.S. download market), and let's just say Carney isn't rooting for them to do it.

"Trust me, [Keys frontman] Dan [Auerbach] and I like to make money. If it was fair to the artist, we would be involved in it. I honestly don't want to see Sean Parker succeed in anything," he said. "I imagine if Spotify becomes something that people are willing to pay for, then I'm sure iTunes will just create their own service, and they're actually fair to artists."

In the past, the Black Keys famously refused to allow their El Camino album to stream on sites like Spotify. And though the debate over Spotify's royalty payments to artists continues, Parker has yet to respond to Carney's barbs.

What do you think of Carney's position on Spotify? Tell us in the comments below.

  • Madonna Rocked To Kreayshawn, French Films Making MDNA

'We liked what we're doing in this current time and space,' producer William Orbit tells MTV News about working with the Queen of Pop.
    By Jocelyn Vena

When Madonna hit the studio with longtime pal William Orbit to work on MDNA, in between brainstorming and recording sessions for the tracks, the twosome also shared many laughs. And in the lull of long recording sessions, they zeroed in on fun, instead of deconstructing the current musical landscape.

When Orbit spoke to MTV News about making the album, he insisted that despite the flurry of pop music floating around these days, they didn't give much thought to the music on Top 40 radio. Instead, they focused on their own music and the bubble of creativity they were living in.

"We never played tracks by everybody else, all the current artists. It's a dangerous road to go down," he said. "It doesn't work," he explained, because those songs are good for their own reasons, so it's futile to find out why they were good and how that can be replicated.

"We liked what we're doing in this current time and space," he continued. "What we tended to do was watch old French films from the '60s or listen to music that was so far away that it wasn't, in any way, relevant."

However, there was one person who managed to squeeze into their bubble and give them a good laugh: "I did remember, one day, there was a moment when we were waiting for Pro Tools to reboot, or something like that, and we were just looking at links on YouTube," he recalled. "And I was showing her Kreayshawn, and I've been working with her, and I really like her. And she's obviously got this track out called 'Hoes on My Di--' [with the line] " 'cause I look like Madonna.' And, I played it for Madonna ... then she was saying afterwards 'Hoes on my di--, 'cause I am Madonna.' That was about the only time we looked at any serious contemporary pop music."

At the end of the day, with the dance parties and Kreayshawn sing-alongs long over, Orbit insists the team couldn't be more pleased with the way MDNA turned out. He added, "It was a good adventure, and we pulled it off."

  • Tenacious D Return To Reclaim Title As Rock Ultra-Gods

New video chronicles the duo's return to rockdom and announces their third studio album, Rize of the Fenix.
    By Kevin P. Sullivan

"Some call them kings. Others call them gods, but one thing that everyone agreed on was that Tenacious D was more talented than the Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin combined."

Those are the immortal words of "Extra"'s Maria Menounos, retelling the tragic story of the greatest rock band to ever rock, Tenacious D. Members Jack Black and Kyle Gass apparently fell on rough times after the box-office failure of their film, "Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny."

But after years in a mental hospital and "lots of drugs," Tenacious D have returned with a brand-new video and news of their third studio album, Rize of the Fenix.

The new video shares the story of the lost years of Tenacious D. After a nervous breakdown, Gass spent years locked away, only to escape in hopes of reuniting with his former bandmate, Black, now going by the name "Hollywood Jack."

Entitled "To Be the Best," the video chronicles D's climb back to the top of all of rockdom.

In traditional Tenacious D style, the boys have some of their famous friends stop by to join in on the fun. In an interview recalling D's spectacular fall from grace, Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins shared his memory of Gass' battle with his demons. "Kyle couldn't take the pressure," he said. "It was no more Kyle. It was only Rage Kage."

The most tragic part of the return of Tenacious D comes at the expense of Val Kilmer's life. The method actor takes a bullet fired by Gass and meant for Black, but his death was not in vain. The incident spurred the Tenacious D reunion fans have been begging for since 2008.

Unfortunately, during their hiatus, both Black and Gass forgot how to rock. Thankfully, Dave Grohl, Josh Groban and two books, "Blowing F---ing Minds for Idiots" and "Impregnating Ears for Idiots," were there to help out.

Rize of the Fenix will be in stores on May 15.

  • Demi Lovato Sets 'Give Your Heart A Break' Video Release

'This is a song about faith,' Lovato says of Unbroken song, for which video premieres next week.
    By Jocelyn Vena

    Photo: MTV News

Demi Lovato fans won't have to wait too much longer to see the singer's video for her latest single, "Give Your Heart a Break."

The video for Lovato's second Unbroken single will premiere April 2 on E! News. In several teased shots from the clip, a bare-faced Demi looks out from behind a curtain and flirts with her love interest. In another shot, said shirtless love interest returns her tender glances, also from behind a curtain.

"The new music video, I'm basically trying to convince a guy that I didn't break his heart, and we get into a fight and I try to win him over again," she told MTV News. "So I do something special for him at the end of the song."

The video certainly seems like it's going to be sexy, and Lovato commented on having to get romantic with someone she barely knows on set. "It's kind of funny. It's part of the job though. You just try to get through it, but it is kind of awkward at first when you have to act like a couple with someone that you don't know," she said. "He was really sweet, really sweet and really cute."

Recently, Demi opened up a bit more about the track in a video she posted on Twitter. "19-years-old ... sometimes it feels like during that brief time that I've been alive that I've lived through more emotions than people twice my age," she said. "I think that's the reason I sing about love so often in the music I make."

She explained that despite the play on the word "heartbreak" in the title, the song is about the exact opposite. "Last year I began working on a song about a different kind of love," she said. "It's a song about showing someone you love that you're the one right in front of them. This is a song about faith."
