- Ari Graynor Shouts Out 'Bridesmaids' For Changing The Chick Flick Game
The silly, raunchy, heart-felt chick flick "For A Good Time, Call..." opens next week, and really it's just the latest film in a wave of movies and TV shows that have women as the lead jokester. While women have been relegated to the world frothy romantic comedies in the last decade, these projects are ones that highlights the realness of friendship, love and career.
Viewers love that vibe, and "Good Time" star Ari Graynor credits the Kristen Wiig vehicle, "Bridesmaids," for reminding watchers that women are really, really funny when they are at their best, and their worst.
"You know I think we find ourselves just at an interesting moment where more light is being shed on these kinds of films that are being made," she explained to MTV News. "I think you know, first of all, there was this kind of heyday of female comedy in the 80's that we grew up watching and this is sort of a nostalgia film of sort of that time of the movies with Goldie Hawn and Shelley Long and Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin and they stopped making these [films] with these women with gumption and character and personality."
"It got sort of bogged down in more basic, flat romantic comedy lines," she explained. "Don't get me wrong, I love a good old-fashioned romantic comedy," she added. "And I think with 'Bridesmaids' it did so well and it just let people know there is a space in the marketplace for this that women, and not only women but men as well, are open to seeing ladies be funny."
Graynor is quick to note that she hopes that the conversation doesn't get too bogged down in gender politics and stays focused on the funny. "And hopefully it doesn't have to be a gender-specific comedy," she explained. "I think and hope with our film that it's funny is funny. And you know women are doing it, but it doesn't just have to be for women either because 'Bridesmaids' did so well it shed the light on us coming in at this time. Hopefully we can kind of ride the coattails of saying 'Yeah, come see more funny movies with women in them.' "
Переслать - Ashley Greene Poses In Pink At 'The Apparition' Premiere
By Meghan Gorman
"The Apparition" may be a dark movie, but leading lady Ashley Greene lit up the premiere event last night in at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
Ashley strutted her stuff in a long, silky, fuchsia dress with a pair of nude peep toe pumps, but her toes weren't the only thing peeping. The actress was showing a little bit—or a lot a bit—of leg with a sexy slit all the way up her to her thigh. Sporting a large sapphire ring, the gorgeous star didn't go over the top with accessories. The dress showing off Ashley's amazing figure was more than enough to keep everyone's eyes glued to her.
"Friday the 13th" star Julianna Guill is back in the horror film game playing a student researcher who helps unleash the evil spirit in "The Apparition." At the premiere, Julianna also went with the nude peep toe pumps, and decided to keep all of her legs in a short navy blue dress with a high neckline.
Director Todd Lincoln arrived at the event in a black and blue plaid shirt with a leather jacket. Did he ride his Harley to the premiere or was he expecting the theater to be a little chilly? Either way, Todd looked like he was ready for the world to see his new film.
Watch out, "Twilight"! Ashley Greene has stepped up to the plate as the lead in her new film. Her look at the movie's premiere was screaming "I am a classy, beautiful, lead actress", but if you want to hear Ashley break down her "Apparition" scream click the link below. MTV News got an exclusive visit to the set and spoke with Ashley about the movie.

Переслать - 'Limitless' Director In Talks For 'Divergent' Adaptation
It's been more than a year since the adaptation of Veronica Roth's hit novel "Divergent" earned itself a writer, and now the film looks like it finally might be close to getting a director.
We've been anxiously awaiting this film since it was announced, and "Snow White and the Huntsman" scribe Evan Daugherty seemed like a good fit to adapt the dystopian story. But it seems like the flick will be kicked up a notch now that Variety is reporting that "Limitless" helmer Neil Burger is in early talks to direct the flick.
In addition, Variety claims that Summit Entertainment hopes to have "Divergent" in production by March for a planned first quarter 2014 release date. Hopefully that means we'll finally find out who is cast as Tris. Isabelle Fuhrman, cross your fingers!
When we caught up with Veronica at Comic-Con last year, she gave her take on finding the perfect Tris.
"For me, they are clearly their own people, so if I had a dream cast, it would be people who are relatively unknown or anyone who can capture the sort of tough but vulnerable spirit Tris has. I'd rather have a good actor than an actor who looks just right," she said. " Fans] usually plck someone for Tris who is much more gorgeous than she is. Tris is supposed to be plain, she really is. I mean, that's not really a big deal...but it's been spot-on otherwise."

Переслать - New 'Glee' Poster Welcomes Rachel To New York City
Kate Hudson is doing her best sassy face on the brand new "Glee" poster that just hit the streets on EW.com. She's throwing up the show's trademark "L" hand signal in the first look, which happens to also include a very bewildered looking Lea Michele.
Hudson will play a dance teacher at the NYADA, where the always ambitious Rachel Berry is attending school. From the looks of it, Rachel seems to have some adjusting to do as she shifts from small town singer to Big Apple performer.
But, wait! There's more! Not only are fans getting the chance to see Michele rocking a Statue of Liberty crown on that poster, but there's also a full cast poster. The poster features the entire cast smiling with their luggage by their sides as they embark on life outside of Lima. (Though, as the sign clearly points out some people, especially the new New Directions, will keep their roots planted at McKinley High.)
While Dianna Agron's Quinn isn't included in the big cast poster, which show creator Ryan Murphy tweeted out, he later assured Gleeks everywhere she'll still be on the show. "Gleeks, please relax," he wrote. "Dianna is still on the show. We love her and have great plans for Quinn.#QuinnFabrayLives."
Переслать - 5 Things To Do Before Seeing 'The Apparition'
by Jessica Marshall
We know that natural predators like bears and bees can smell fear, but the big bad super-natural predator in "The Apparition" sees right into your fearful soul, and feeds off your terror like a it was a bacon-wrapped, cocaine-laced donut.
"The Apparition" stars Alice—er—Ashley Greene and Sebastian Stan as a young couple who find themselves terrorized in their new home by an evil presence (see above reference to the donut) that they later learn was conjured in a university parapsychology experiment gone awry. The film is centered around the urban legend that you can create supernatural horrors just by believing them into existence, hence the tagline "Once you believe, you die." Tom Felton of "Harry Potter" fame co-stars as a supernatural expert—who was present during the aforementioned experiment—that the young couple calls on for help. It's full of thrills, chills and good, old-fashioned, pants-pooping jump-scares, and hits theaters this week.
Before you risk soiling yourself in public though, here are five things you can do to get ready for a viewing of "The Apparition":
Catch up on the film's stars
"The Twilight Saga," any of the "Harry Potter" films and "Captain America: The First Avenger"—there's no shortage of entertaining modern films you can watch to brush up on the acting chops and fine good looks of actors Ashley Greene, Tom Felton or Sebastian Stan. This is Alice and Draco's first foray into the true ghost horror genre, so we're heading into uncharted waters here (which could be scary in and of itself!).Have a ghost-movie marathon
The style of "The Apparition" is very similar to films like "Poltergeist," "The Amityville Horror," "Flatliners" and "The Grudge." We're talking about straight-up ghost films—none of this found-footage stuff—about everyday people who end up getting tortured by supernatural beings because of their own stupidity. Lessons learned? Never buy a house built on an old burial ground, don't move into a house that's clearly haunted, don't play with death and don't expose yourself to any curses...you get the idea?Practice getting scared
Talk a friend or your sig-O into scaring you on purpose, perhaps by jumping out of a closet or darkened hallway when you least expect it. Kind of like when you're trying to get rid of hiccups. Practice so you can play it cool in the theater. Maybe you won't react as badly (i.e. screaming like a banshee or wetting yourself) when the inevitable jump-scare tactics ensue on the big screen.Play with your video camera
In the film, the characters use a series of high-tech video gadgets to detect supernatural presences. Along the lines of practicing getting scared, we dare you to turn off the lights and wander around your house using only the night vision setting on your video camera as a means of seeing. At the very least, you will have learned that whole lesson about not doing stupid things to invoke the wrath of the supernatural.Create your own parapsychology experiment
Gather some friends and try to channel your Great Aunt Mildred through a séance or Ouija board. Have fun with it though. Don't take it too seriously, or else as this film clearly illustrates, bad things will happen. Dun dun dun!Bonus: Enjoy sleeping through the night
While you still can. Muhahaha.Check out our EXCLUSIVE set visit! Will you be checking out "The Apparition"? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
Переслать - Chris Colfer Offers Time-Killing Advice To New 'Glee' Cast
Chris Colfer has some really wise advice for the new cast of characters set to take their marks on the "Glee" set for the show's upcoming fourth season. Basically, he says, expect to sit and wait, a lot.
"Oh gosh! I don't know! Bring a book to set cause there's lots of down time," he told MTV News earlier this summer. He even had the perfect novel in mind for those cast mates who might be scratching their heads about what it is they should read. His suggestion? His own YA novel, obviously.
(In fact, the book is approved by co-star Amber Riley, who also had some advice of her own for the new class.)
"Preferably 'The Land of Stories,' which you can get at your local [bookstore]," he joked, before debunking the dream we always had where we imagine the "Glee" set to be some modern-day, real-life version of "Fame."
"No, there was [sing alongs]. For like the first day [there was], but that got old after the first day," he joked. "But, no, it's not quite the Julliard utopia that people think it is on set. No, once we're done singing in front of camera, we're like 'Oh lord! I need a nap.' We're not like 'Oh, where can I sing some more?'"
It doesn't seem like Colfer naps all that much on set considering he writes novels and scripts between takes. He added, "Well, that's me. I go to my corner of crazy and that's what I do."
"Glee" kicks off on September 13 on Fox.
Are you excited for the new season? Tell us in the comments!
