- First Official Look At 'Carrie' Remake In Horror Bites!
"Entertainment Weekly" has posted two bloody photos from Kimberly Peirce's "Carrie." The film is inspired by Brian De Palma's 1976 movie, and is more faithful to the chilling Stephen King novel. Chloë Grace Moretz plays bullied high school student Carrie, who uses her telekinetic powers to retaliate against her nasty classmates. Julianne Moore is her mother, Margaret White — a religious woman whose sense of humanity and affection for her daughter turns vicious and violent. Moretz spoke to the magazine about the famous scene at the prom where a bucket of pig's blood is dumped on her head. "We only have, like, four chances to get it right, because that stuff stains your hair." Carrie unleashes mayhem in theaters on March 15.

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell Approve of 'Evil Dead' Remake
We recently reported that Bruce Campbell gave a big thumbs up (or is that a chainsaw… ) to the remake of fan favorite "Evil Dead," calling it "fabulous." We were hoping for groovy, but beggars can't be choosers. He's a producing partner on the project, along with the famed Sam Raimi — who directed the 1981 cult cabin in the woods tale — and Rob Tapert (a producer on the original movie).Just yesterday, Raimi added to the excitement of many when he told Total Film, "I've seen almost all the dailies, and they're really going for it. It's gonna be grisly and intense and nonstop. Definitely R [rated]. Maybe worse." While many appreciate the smart-mouthed humor, the relentless gore in the original movie really sealed the deal. It's a relief to know that new director Fede Alvarez — who is working off a script that "Jennifer's Body" scribe Diablo Cody contributed to — is going to deliver on the icky, red stuff.
With team Raimi and Campbell's stamp of approval, we're not too worried about the remake — which finds a female version of Ash (played by Jane Levy) trying to recover from a drug addiction. She heads to a remote cabin with friends where they discover the Book of the Dead — and we all know how that ends up. Even if it sounds familiar, Campbell promised audiences were still in for a unique treat. "This is going to be just as memorable as [the original] 'Evil Dead' without being the same movie," he told Digital Spy. Prepare for the demonic onslaught by heading past the break for more horror bites.
New 'Paranormal Activity 4' Photo May Answer, "What Happened to Hunter?"
Spoiler alert: In 2010's "Paranormal Activity 2," Kristi and Dan's infant son Hunter goes missing after possessed aunt Katie whisks him away into the supernatural abyss. A new image posted on the "Paranormal Activity 4" Facebook page features a grainy photo of a child, who may Hunter all grown up. Is he channeling the spirit of Damien for the new installment in the ghostly franchise? We're speculating of course, since details about the story directed by "Paranormal Activity 3" filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman are being kept under wraps. As we get closer to October, expect to see more viral goodies coming your way. Don't forget to text "WantIt" to 21534 for an exclusive peek at the trailer and additional footage that is sure to make you pee your pants.John Travolta to Become the Toxic Avenger? …Wait, What?
And now for the most hilarious news of the week: John Travolta has been attached to star in the "Toxic Avenger" remake, according to Twitch. The idea of the "Pulp Fiction" actor playing a meek and bullied janitor, who transforms into a deformed creature with superhuman strength after landing in a vat of toxic waste, is so ridiculous it just might work. This isn't the first time that Travolta has dramatically changed his appearance. The man loves his prosthetics, as evidenced in films like "Battlefield Earth" and even "Hairspray." "Hot Tub Time Machine" director Steve Pink is set to helm the remake of the low budget classic, but the Travolta news is still just a rumor for now. Does this make Travolta even weirder, or does it make you like him even more?New Stills and Poster for 'Solomon Kane' Promise Brutal Mercenary Action
Bloody Disgusting shared the new poster and several stills for "Deathwatch" director Michael J. Bassett's reboot of pulp mag character Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) in a self-titled film that hits theaters September 28 (VOD August 24). The 16th-century Puritan is tormented by his violent past and owes his soul to the devil, but tries to redeem himself by fighting evil. Max Von Sydow ("The Exorcist"), Pete Postlethwaite ("The Omen" remake), Rachel Hurd-Wood ("Perfume: The Story of a Murderer"), and Alice Krige ("Silent Hill") star with Purefoy. The stills promise a dark, atmospheric, sword-filled story. Will you spring for VOD, or wait for opening weekend? Check out a cool alternative poster for the film from Radius-TWC on website IGN.'Last Exorcism' Sequel Centers on Ashley Bell's Nell (Who Will Get Extra Creepily Contorted)
Dread Central caught up with goremeister Eli Roth to chat about supernatural sequel, "Last Exorcism 2." The "Hostel" filmmaker is producing the follow-up, and when asked about actress Ashley Bell who is reprising her role as Nell — the possessed young woman whose body contorted into all kinds of horrific and unimaginable positions in the 2010 movie — Roth had this to say:"'The Last Exorcism 2' is totally catered to her and her character; it is going to be an even more physically challenging role than the first film, but we knew she could handle it. She's fantastic, and I can't wait for people to see what happens with her in the sequel."
Bell is a gymnast with a yoga, dance, and martial arts background, and all of the strange positions she found herself for the first movie were 100% real and performed by her. We look forward to seeing how they put her through her paces this time around. Head to Dread for more from Roth.
"Clueless" Director's Vampire Flick Starring "Breaking Bad" Actress and Alicia Silverstone Coming Soon
Writer-Director Amy Heckerling is readying for the limited theatrical release of her twist on the traditional vampire tale, which debuts on November 2. "Clueless"'s Alicia Silverstone, "Breaking Bad"'s Krysten Ritter, "Princess Bride"'s Wallace Shawn, and "Aliens" icon Sigourney Weaver are just a few interesting faces that appear in the comedic romantic-fantasy movie. Silverstone and Ritter play a pair of undead, New York socialites that find love, jeopardizing their immortality. It basically sounds like "Clueless" (which Heckerling wrote and directed) and a bloodsucker storyline smashed together. If this isn't your kind of horror flick, you could always just watch Silverstone regurgitate her food and feed it to her baby out of her mouth. Some of us are still recovering from that."Videodrome" Remake in Talks with Director
Never one to miss an opportunity to take a celebrated cult film and butcher it into a large-scale action spectacle, Hollywood has decided it wants to tackle a retelling of David Cronenberg's "Videodrome." Deadline reported that commercial director Adam Berg is in talks to helm the story about the head of a television station who becomes transfixed with a sadistic and deadly TV series known as "Videodrome." Cue vagina stomachs, gooey VHS tapes, and James Woods making out with a pulsing television set. Universal apparently wants to modernize things, with the addition of nano-technology, and all the CG-heavy, sci-fi action you can expect from the studio. Ehren Kruger ("The Ring," "The Ring 2") wrote the updating of the 1983 movie. Remaking a Cronenberg film — especially one of his early body horror masterpieces — is no easy task. We're not thrilled with the news, but we're willing to see what the new flesh has in store just so we can say, "We told you so."Переслать - Gerard Butler Gets Us Excited For 'Thunder Run'
Remember last year when Gerald Butler, Sam Worthington and Matthew McConaughey signed up for that CG 3D Iraq War action movie, "Thunder Run"? It was initially billed as the "first-ever conventional war film made to utilize this revolutionary facial and motion capture technology and state of the art CG and 3D," and according to Butler himself, it's as nutty as it sounds. But nutty-awesome, not actually nutty.
"It's a crazy project. I've read a few war movies. I've read a few action movies, and this may be the best war movie I ever read," Butler told MTV News recently when we caught up with him for his surfing drama "Chasing Mavericks".
Butler went on to say that he was blown away by the script and the pre-vis reel he saw before signing on. "It is, when I saw the pre-vis package that they did, the same [kind of pre-vis package] as they did for '300,'" he said. "They showed me this piece that they put together that was like a one and a half-minute piece. I'd never seen anything like it. It's going to be breaking new ground in making movies, and thank God on top of that it was a great script."
That script, written by Ken Nolan of "Black Hawk Down," tells a more multi-dimensional story than a typical war movie. "It's a better script than that even ['Black Hawk Down']," Butler said. "It's so tight. When you jump into this story you are in those tanks with those guys rolling it. And you're also with the families in Iraq. You're really on both sides of the fence, and you understand the journeys of the Iraqis and the Americans. The Americans aren't just gung-ho. It's a bunch of kids who've never seen war up close before."
"Thunder Run" is based on Pulitzer Prize-winning correspondent David Zucchino's non-fiction book "Thunder Run - The Armored Strike to Capture Baghdad," and will be directed by "Expendables 2" helmer Simon West.

Переслать - Angelina Jolie's Daughter Vivienne To Have Small Role In 'Maleficent'
We aren't quite sure if this is the mark of good or band parenting, but Disney has just confirmed that Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will make her feature film debut opposite her mother in the upcoming movie "Maleficent." She'll play a young version of Sleeping Beauty.
Considering most people probably know that character created for the 1959 Disney version of the fairytale isn't exactly the nicest person, we're intrigued by the fact that Jolie is letting her 4-year-old see her in her most evil role yet. Vivienne will be the first of the Jolie-Pitt's brood to make the jump to the big screen. Her part as young Aurora will be a small one, as Elle Fanning is playing Sleeping Beauty for the majority of the film. In fact, we'd guess that Vivienne will only play Aurora when she is being cursed by Maleficent at the beginning of the well-known fairy tale.
Considering how protective Jolie and longtime partner Brad Pitt are of their children, we're surprised that A-list stars are letting Vivienne get involved in Hollywood at such a young age. At least Jolie will be there to monitor her, even if she will be dressed like this. Since the movie focuses on Maleficent's side of the story, it could be that she's not as evil as the Disney version of the story would have us believe. That's the tale Jolie is telling, at least.
"It's not anti-princess," she said of the movie in a recent interview. "But it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman... I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities."
"Maleficent" is due in theaters in March 2014.

Переслать - Mila Kunis, James Franco, Liam Neeson In Talks For Globe-Trotting Romance
Woody Allen, take note: Why have three different movies set separately in New York, Paris and Rome when you can put all three in one?
That's exactly what Paul Haggis is doing in his upcoming drama "Third Person," and it looks like he's got quite the group of actors interested in getting on board. Deadline is reporting that Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde, James Franco, Casey Affleck, Liam Neeson and Moran Atias are all in negotiations to join the project.
"Third Person" follows three different storyline that are set in Paris, New York and Rome. Each of them tell a story that "represents a different stage of love from the beginning to the middle and the end of a relationship."
Haggis proved that he's great with ensemble dramas dealing with the "bigger picture" in the 2004 Academy Award winner "Crash." That project walked away with the Best Picture Oscar, and successfully managed to do justice to the many major actors that signed on to the film. Hopefully the same can be said for "Third Person," though we wouldn't complain if it dealt with some subject matters lighter than death, racism and sexual harassment.
If all the actors do sign on, this movie would reunite "Oz: The Great and Powerful" stars Mila Kunis and James Franco. From what we've seen of that project, Kunis and Franco have great chemistry, though there's no guarantee that they'd be in the same storyline in "Third Person." We're interested to see who Neeson is paired with, considering the cast of younger stars. Maybe there's still a handful more big names waiting to enter negotiations for this film as well.
"Third Person" is supposed to star filming in Rome on October 17.

Переслать - Kevin Costner And Tom Hardy Eyed For Tom Clancy Films
It turns out that Kevin Costner could be the Nick Fury of Paramount's "Jack Ryan" film franchise going forward.
The "Man of Steel" actor is in talks to join "Jack Ryan," the as-yet-untitled next movie to be based on Tom Clancy's book series about the titular character. But Deadline is reporting that Costner is also in talks to join the spinoff franchise called "Without Remorse" as the link between the two movies.
Costner would play William Harper, a character unique to the films who is described as "a true blue American idealist who recruits and mentors both Ryan and John Kelly." While the "Jack Ryan" movie will center around Ryan, "Without Remorse" would tell the story of John Kelly, who by the end of the movie becomes the CIA operative John Clark.
Deadline also reports that Paramount is looking to Tom Hardy to play John Kelly in "Without Remorse." The actor has already proved he has action chops in movies like "Inception" and "The Dark Knight Rises," and is next starring in "Mad Max: Fury Road" as the titular character. He would be a great pick for "Without Remorse," and has already shown he has great chemistry with Pine in the romantic comedy "This Means War." Appropriately, they play two CIA agents in that film.
Following those two movies, the plan could potentially be to give Costner his own feature film as Harper. For now, we're just interested in filming for "Jack Ryan" to get underway -- and for the movie to get an official title. Kenneth Branagh is directing the project and also is playing its villain. Keira Knightley is at the top of the list to play the film's leading lady. "Without Remorse" will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Переслать - Michael Peña Opens Up About Reshooting 'Gangster Squad'
Two weeks ago, Warner Bros. officially announced plans to delay the release of their upcoming drama "Gangster Squad" in order to reshoot a key action sequence in response to the shooting tragedy at the Aurora movie theater.
The original scene, which bared a striking resemblance to the real-life events, would be completely reconceived, and many of the principal actors would return for about a week of filming.
This includes Michael Peña, who spoke with us for our upcoming Fall Movie Preview. You can read what Peña had to say about the reshoots after the jump.
Peña, who had just started filming the new sequence for "Gangster Squad" this week, was due back on set a few hours after our call. He said that despite the previously reported five days of reshoots, Peña wasn't sure how long they would last.
Overall, Peña feels that the extra work is justified. "I think it's the right thing to do, because of that one sequence," he said. "I think that Warner Bros. is doing the responsible thing. They want to be respectful of the incident that happened, and they don't want to stimulate that as well."
Peña confirmed that the entire sequence has been re-conceptualized.
"Gangster Squad" isn't the only film of Peña's that's currently doing some reshoots. He also has Diego Luna's "Chavez," where Peña plays civil rights leader Cesar Chavez.
"Reshoots are always tough because, you do research, research, research," Peña said. "You do all your rehearsals, and you try to get into the mindset. You try to portray the way that it really is and get it as real as possible, but then you don't shoot it for a year almost and then you got to go back into. Hopefully it's like riding a bike."

Переслать - Ellen Degeres Back For 'Finding Nemo 2', 'Despicable Me' Spinoff Get Release Date
Today is a great day for the animation world. We have new information about the upcoming sequel to "Finding Nemo" and spinoff of "Despicable Me" that should have fans of both films jumping for joy.
First up, "Nemo." The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Ellen Degeneres, who voiced the fan-favorite fish Dory in the first "Finding Nemo" movie, is in talks to return for the sequel. "Finding Nemo 2" isn't officially announced yet despite reports confirming its creation, so this isn't much of a surprise. Original writer and director Andrew Stanton is slated to return to the project with his own new concept, while Victoria Strouse is writing the script.
While he was speaking at the Hero Complex Film Festival back in May, Stanton had said that he and his peers at Pixar had been trying to figure out a way to make a sequel to "Finding Nemo." He said that the success of "Toy Story 2" sold him on the idea of making follow-up movies.
"There are some stories, there are some characters, there are some subplots that do benefit, if handled correctly, by going longer," he said. "I'm sure you'll see some other sequels of things as they grow because now we [Pixar] are not so blinded. It's the originals that keep us really going and it's the sequels that are like comfort food, and I think it's the same way for the audience."
If that's the comparison, then "Despicable Me's" Minions spinoff movie has got to be some of the best comfort food of all. Universal Pictures has announced the release date for the untitled Illumination Entertainment project. The Minions movie is coming out December 19, 2014, while "Despicable Me 2" is hitting theaters July 3, 2013.

Переслать - 'Lincoln' Poster Proves Daniel Day-Lewis IS Honest Abe
As the summer movie season comes to a close, the big awards contenders have begun to ramp up their promotional campaigns. One of these films, Steven Spielberg's upcoming "Lincoln," has left many in awe at the striking resemblance between Daniel Day-Lewis and the president he's portraying.
The first official still confirmed just how uncanny Day-Lewis looks as Abraham Lincoln, and a new poster for the film, which is due out this November, matches, if not surpasses, those expectations.
Check out the full poster for "Lincoln" after the jump!
"Lincoln" will not take the typical approach to a biopic, but will instead focus on the final months of the president's life. You can read the official synopsis below.
Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis in "Lincoln," a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President's tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come.
"Lincoln" opens in limited release on November 9 and goes wide November 16.

Переслать - Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard Are Relieved They Actually Have Chemistry
If you're an actor and you're in a relationship with another actor, you better hope that the chemistry translates to the screen. Otherwise, things could get a little embarrassing.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, real-fiances, definitely felt the pressure for their new movie, "Hit & Run," which casts them as two lovers on the lam. When MTV News sat down with the couple, they said they understood the challenge.
"It was kind of high-risk," Shepard said. "Because had we not had chemistry, that would have been rough for everyone."
But even if they hadn't clicked on screen, Bell reminded him that it wouldn't have been the first time. "I think plenty of people have watched movies with people without chemistry," she said.
"But when they are dating, it's rough," Shepard said. "When they are engaged, it's rougher."
Since things went so well the first time around, Shepard said that he wants to get a franchise of movies going with the two of them as stars.
"I'd like to be Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and do four or five of these suckers together," Shepard said. "In fact, we should redo the boat movie, 'Overboard.' I'd be Jack, right?"
"I would have a shoe closet," Bell said. "This is perfect."
"Yes, look for 'Overboard' next fall in a marina near you," Shepard said.
