  • Kevin McHale Co-Hosting Teen Choice Awards

Even the most self-assured emcee can get lonely up there on a big, empty stage, so it's nice to see Demi Lovato getting some cute company for her upcoming hosting gig at the Teen Choice Awards! After learning earlier this week that Demi had been tapped to spearhead the ceremony during next Sunday night's awards, the announcement came in today that "Glee" star Kevin McHale will be joining her as a co-host, where the two will share the stage, the screen time and the heavy task of handing out gaily painted surfboards to the lucky winners of each Choice category. (Plus, Kevin will have the best seat in the house from which to cheer on his fellow "Glee" cast members who are up for awards in the Choice Actor/Actress categories.)

Demi and Kevin have been longtime pals out of the public eye, so it'll be fun to watch the two trading jokes and sharing the spotlight during the ceremony; we're expecting some great onstage chemistry from this pair. And while Kevin doesn't have an previous experience hosting an awards show, he should be right at home on Fox, where he's usually found playing Artie Abrams of "Glee." And hey, since Kevin won't be confined in his character's wheelchair during his hosting gig, might we be treated to a lovely performance that showcases the actor's rarely seen but renowned dancing skills? Fingers crossed!

  • Peep EXCLUSIVE Opening Scene From 'Step Up: Revolution'!

Warning: The following Hollywood Crush EXCLUSIVE clip may trigger uncontrollable popping, locking, booty-shaking, hip-shimmying and even (for our older readers), a sudden recurrence of latent disco fever. Why? Because we've got a sneak peek at the sick opening sequence to "Step Up Revolution," and it will, in the immortal words of Mystikal, make you wanna shake ya a--. SO WATCH YO'SELF.

The "Step Up" franchise has a history of setting the bar high in its first few minutes, introducing audiences to a no-holds-barred display of the cast's moving and shaking abilities, and this one is no different. As movement on a Miami street grinds to a halt and the music starts thumping, a group of wily teenagers erupts from vehicles and buildings alike, taking their show to a whole new level atop the bumper-to-bumper traffic...at which point you'll see breakdancing, butt flapping, pogo stilts, tumbling, two-person acro-dancing and at least four hydraulic pimp-mobiles with moves like Jagger. (Yes, even the cars in this movie dance better than you. What.)

And while there's also a teensy bit of intrigue going on here—who are those masked men doing spray-paint shenanigans behind the distracted crowd?—we're mostly just psyched to see this flash mob cut loose throughout the movie...and maybe pick up a sick move or two to show off at the reception during our cousin's bar mitzvah, because last time, we got totally schooled by a bunch of seventh graders and it was seriously super embarrassing.

"Step Up Revolution," starring Kathryn McCormick and Ryan Guzman opens July 27.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner may not have been there, but there were plenty of other blood-sucking celebs on hand: vampire veterans Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli and Mackenzie Foy all stopped to shake hands with the clamoring crowd before heading inside, along with Denali coven representative Maggie Grace and even a Volturi or two.

Author Stephenie Meyer took time for a little meeting and greeting as well!

  • 'Magic Mike' Sequel In The Works: Our Questions And Concerns

    Magic Mikeby Meg Malone

Remember that time I went to see "Magic Mike" on opening day all by myself? Well, I guess I should start gearing up for a second trip based on what Channing Tatum revealed recently. In a Twitter Takeover with Glamour UK, Channing let slip that a sexy sequel to his stripper flick is in the works!

"Yes, yes and yes! We're working on the concept now," he said. "We want to flip the script and make it bigger."

We're already hoping for the possibility of an extra-dance packed "Magic Mike" DVD, but now add in the potential for another big screen showing, and we're buzzing with questions and concerns.

Considering the movie's ending (SPOILER!), with titular Mike apparently ditching the biz, it seems to make sense that Channing would be relegated to an off-screen role. His comment alludes to behind-the-scenes involvement, but not if he'll take the stage again. Perhaps times have gotten tough for our leading man and he has to step back into a thong for one more movie? Only time will tell.

My fantasy version of how Channing could return? He crafts all the custom furniture for the new club opened by Matthew McConaughey's Dallas in Miami, and when making the delivery, takes one last hurrah on the stage (I mean, he kind of just quit cold turkey without a good send off in the first movie...now is his chance!). In terms of potential plot, the start-up in Miami does provide a catalyst that could carry the story, but I feel like there needs to be a catch. A competing club leading to a strip-off in the style of a "Zoolander" walk-off?

As far as a lead if Channing is out, I'm neutral on Alex Pettyfer's Adam being the central character—nothing against the actor, but as an older sister like Cody Horn's character, little brother's dangerous choices very much stressed me out the whole movie.

In any case, I'd like more time with any supporting guys returning or joining the cast. Yes, Mike's life crisis and Adam's up-and-coming story provided some more plot heft, but honestly I was expecting more screen time from Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer. I mean, I'm not complaining about the screen time they did have, but if you're going to cast a charming and gorgeous cast, might as well feature them as much as possible.

That brings us to the name. If Mike remains M.I.A from the business, could it even have "Magic Mike" in the title? My only suggestion is that if it does focus on Adam that it not be named after his nickname, "The Kid," for fear of confusing people looking for the PG-rated 2000 Disney movie. That would be a very unfortunate mix-up for all parties involved.

What would you hope to see in a "Magic Mike" sequel? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!

  • Katy Perry's Stylist Talks Candy Couture, Chasing Your Dreams

This one's for all you KatyCats who not only obsess over what Ms. Katy Perry sings about but also what she wears while doing it. Katy's style is certainly unique, one that she and her longtime stylist and friend Johnny Wujek have honed and made their own over the last few years.

Our good friends over at MTV Style recently scored an interview with Johnny during which he explained his creative process with Katy, being a part of her whirlwind rise to fame and what advice he would give to aspiring designers.

"I love what we call 'next level,' like how on tour Katy's peppermints spun or things that are electronic and light up and the magic dress," Johnny said of the creations he's most proud of and the risks he's been able to take. "I'm always looking to see how far we can push things and to do things we haven't done. Since I moved to L.A. 13 years ago from Michigan, without any clue what I was going to do, and falling into this and meeting Katy and being part of her explosion and her massive reach... In the beginning I was just like, 'Oh my god, everyone in the world is seeing this dress that I made, or this dress I put on her, I have power, I can get my ideas out there too.'"

Johnny went on to say that if you have dreams of working in fashion you should chase them.

"Go for it. I think a lot of people just doubt, and you don't get anywhere unless you just go for it," he said. "When I moved to Los Angeles I didn't even think twice, and I wasn't sure and I just came out here and just went after what I wanted. From experience I see that it's possible. Whether it be school, or assisting, or really just getting your foot in any way you can, if you got it, you got it, and if you don't, try something else."

  • Jillian Rose Reed's Work Out Is Anything But 'Awkward'

    by Meg Malone

We know firsthand that finding the energy and motivation to work out, especially in the hot summer, can be tough, so it's always a big plus when you can figure out a way to make it enjoyable. Jillian Rose Reed of "Awkward" has apparently found what that is for her, and turned to Twitter to share what talk show she tunes into while feeling the burn.

Staying in shape while getting a TV fix is a fabulous combination—we definitely approve, and in fact are feeling pretty inspired to hit the gym right now. Give us a marathon of "Awkward," and we'll work out all day! Watching Jillian play the quick-witted, slang-slinging Tamara is actually one of our favorite things, so be sure to tune in for a new episode tomorrow night on MTV (doing crunches or push-ups while watching is optional).

  • 'Mortal Instruments' Casts Robert Sheehan As Simon

The search for Clary Fray's bass-playing BFF is over! Irish actor Robert Sheehan will join Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower in the big-screen adaptation of Cassandra Clare's best-selling "Mortal Instruments" series, which begins filming next month.

Author Cassie broke the news on her Tumblr today. "He's totally cute and adorable and HILARIOUS, and his chemistry with Lily and Jamie is off the charts," she wrote. "I've wanted him for Simon for ages so I am pretty much totally and entirely happy."

Fans of the British TV series "Misfits" will recognize Robert as smart aleck Nathan Young. The actor has numerous other TV credits to his name, as well as the Nic Cage flick "Season of the Witch."

Simon is an integral character in the "Mortal Instruments" universe. Known for his signature message Ts and his rock band's ever-changing moniker, Simon is heroine Clary's oldest friend, who's been nursing an unrequited crush on her for basically forever. He provides a good deal of levity but can kick a bit of butt when necessary. And this chap Robert looks a lot like how we pictured the oft-underdog, so we're excited to see him bring Simon to life.

Robert joins cast actors Jemima West as Isabelle and Kevin Durand and Robert Maillet as Valentine's henchman.

  • 'Step Up Revolution' Wants You For Flashmob Music Video

    by Meg Malone

Like to groove, Crushers? Well, you're in luck because the upcoming "Step Up Revolution" has announced a cool contest to collect your dance moves to compile a flashmob music video for Timbaland's "Hands in the Air."

The movie's lead actors, Ryan Guzman and Kathryn McCormick, along with choreographer Jamal Sims, introduce the project in the video above, which also includes demonstrations of the four choreographed dance sequences that fans can choose to perform.

Ditch your dancing insecurities because they want anyone and everyone to get involved! You have until July 15 to record yourself doing one of the demonstrated moves and tweet it using #StepUpMob. Simple as that!

The original "Step Up" soundtrack has been my longtime workout jam, so it's pretty cool that you could be featured in a music video jamming to a song from the new movie's soundtrack.

So hurry up and pick your move (I'm seeing myself trying out Dance No. 2...) and you can bogey the time away while you wait for "Step Up Revolution" to make its way to theaters on July 27.

  • The Best and Worst Things About Two 'Mockingjay' Movies

"Mockingjay" is just one book, but as we all know thanks to yesterday's big announcement, it'll have two release dates—with the final chapter of "The Hunger Games" franchise being split into two separate films released one year apart. And hey, no real surprise; after "Harry Potter" and "Twilight," savvy audiences have learned to expect that whatever the literary-series-turned-blockbuster-film-franchise, studios will inevitably go halfsies on the finale. Which is great! ...Except when it's not, of course, which is why we're letting out all our ambivalent feelings in this comprehensive list, featuring the best and worst things about having to stretch our "Mockingjay" payoff out over 12 long months.

GOOD: There's a lot going on in "Mockingjay," and being able to devote two movies' worth of time to the story means less beloved stuff from the source material ending up on the cutting-room floor.

BAD: Even with twice the time to devote to the story, they're still going to have to cut some stuff... which means that we could put on our patient hats and wait all year, only to find that all our favorite details have still been given the chop.

GOOD: As was so nicely illustrated by the smart folks at Entertainment Weekly, "Mockingjay" has several moments that are ripe for cliffhanging and creating the perfect cinematic split, and a smart filmmaker could use any one of them.

BAD: "Mockingjay" has several moments that are ripe for cliffhanging and creating the perfect cinematic split, and what if the filmmaker does not use any of them?

GOOD: Chances are good that splitting the story will let Josh Hutcherson mostly off the hook for "Mockingjay: Part 1," since Peeta is (SPOILER ALERT!) imprisoned at the Capitol for the first part of the story and only seen in televised snippets broadcast by his captors.

BAD: An entire film featuring only a few teensy glimpses of cutie-pie Peeta and absolutely zero cave makeouts? No. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

What are your best hopes (and worst fears) about splitting the "Mockingjay" movie in two?
