  • Exclusive 'Friends With Kids' Featurette And Interview With Adam Scott

For Jennifer Westfeldt's latest film, "Friends With Kids," she cast her husband, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O'Dowd, and Adam Scott as a group of friends living in the city, on the brink of parenthood. Considering that ensemble, it isn't hard to imagine the mood on set during shooting.

    "Dour," Scott told us. "Obviously."

"Friends With Kids" hits Blu-ray and DVD today, and we have an exclusive look at the bloopers from the disc. You can also check out our full interview with Adam Scott after the jump!

In all seriousness, Scott said that an ensemble full of people he knows and has worked with really made the whole experience a lot more fun. "You shoot and then you stop, and instead of awkwardly sitting around with 'Getting to know you' chit-chat, you could immediately just f--- around," Scott said.
"That's what you hope for because there's a lot of in-between time, when you're working on a movie, so you hope it's with people that make that in-between time fun."

During filming, Scott worked closely with Westfeldt, who also acts as the co-lead. For him, that came with some added pressure.

"You want hold up your end of the scene, while pleasing them in a director capacity. I think whenever you're in something, you want to please the director. There's always this thing in the back of my mind anyway, where I want them like what I'm doing," he said. "When you're doing that with the person you're acting the majority of your scenes with it, it's kind of double duty. After a few days, I just got used to it. It was fine, but I was kind of neurotic about it for the first week. We've known each other a long time, so it was not a big deal. "

From the start, Scott loved his role, but was concerned that Westfeldt made a mistake. "I remember it was a really good role, and I wasn't sure why she was approaching me, because she was trying to get a movie made and I don't help get money for a movie, certainly as much as some other people who would have gladly taken the role," he said. "I was really moved by it, so I jumped at the chance. I kept checking with her to make sure she was sure she wanted me to do it, and she was, so I was all for it. I was thrilled."

  • 'Star Trek' Sequel Will Be 'About The Bad Guy,' Won't Be Gary Mitchell

What villain is Benedict Cumberbatch playing in the sequel to "Star Trek"? That's a good question that no one involved with the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie is going to answer. But even though we don't know who Captain Kirk and the rest of the crew of the Enterprise are going to be going up against, we do know that the villain will play a pivotal role in the movie.

Alex Kurtzman recently chatted with IAmRogue and teased that "Star Trek 2" will focus more on its villain than its predecessor "Star Trek" did.

"Sequels are about the bad guy. The first movie is really about the first characters coming together, and how they become the bridge crew," Kurtzman said. "In the second movie, the reason that a bad guy is so important is that he has to test that."

Kurtzman's writing partner, Roberto Orci, also added his two cents by denying the Gary Mitchell talk started by Karl Urban last week. "I would say that I never lie," he told TrekMovie.com. "While Karl tests all those hypo spray props on himself."

We keep calling this film "Star Trek 2," but really it doesn't have a title, and the one it does end up with definitely won't be that. When Damon Lindelof joined MTV News on our Saturday Comic-Con livestream, he said that finding the perfect title for the movie has been incredibly difficult for the team.

"There have been more conversations about what we're going to call it than went into actually shooting it at this point," he said, adding that it can't be "Star Trek 2" because that's what "Wrath of Khan" is technically called. "That was the genius of Nolan. There was 'Batman Begins,' and now they're just going to be the 'Dark Knights' and not going to have 2's. It's hard to do movies without colons."

He added, "There's no word that comes after the colon after 'Star Trek' that's cool. Not that 'Star Trek: Insurrection' or 'First Contact' aren't good titles, it's just that everything that people are turned off about when it comes to 'Trek' is represented by the colon."

So what's his dream title for the movie? "Star Trek: Transformers 4," because it's "technically available." We wonder what Michael Bay would have to say about that.

  • Exclusive 'Three Stooges' Featurette Heads To 'Jersey Shore'

High jinks lovers are in luck because today marks the release of "The Three Stooges" on DVD and Blu-Ray. To celebrate the occasion, we are pleased to present a featurette clip courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment from the DVD/Blu-Ray, featuring some familiar members of the MTV family.

In the movie, we find Chris Diamantopoulos's character, Moe — one-third of the titular Stooge trio — joining the cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore." Moe may have received his very own "Jersey Shore" inspired nickname ("Dyna-Moe"), however as the featurette clip reminds us, the arrangement is hardly smooth sailing for everyone involved.

This behind-the-scenes look from "The Three Stooges" special features lets viewers get a peek at "Jersey Shore" cast working on the movie, and fans also have a chance to hear from directors/co-writers Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly who comment on the positive experience they had working with the reality TV cast.

  • Neill Blomkamp Talks Future Films: 'Chappie' And 'District 9' Sequel

    Neill Blomkamp

Sure, "Elysium" hasn't hit theaters yet (or even released a trailer), but that doesn't mean it's too early to start asking Neill Blomkamp what he'll do next, right?

The director took to San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend to promote his upcoming sci-fi flick, his second time to the convention for as many movies. Though that project seems to be similar in style and tone to his debut project "District 9," Blomkamp teased to The Playlist that his next project, "Chappie," will be a departure from that style.

"It's like a fundamentally more simple story, a comedy, a heartfelt story, in a science fiction setting. And it's f--king hilarious," he teased. "It's a really cool film. I can say that with confidence… It's a smaller film, a more esoteric one."

At least Blomkamp is going back to his roots in some ways. Though he wrote "Elysium" on his own, "Chappie" will reteam Blomkamp with his "District 9" co-writer Terri Tatchell. This is exciting news, considering the first (and only) things we ever heard about this project back in 2011 were that Blomkamp had a movie called "Chappie" and it was set up with Media Rights Capital.

There's no guarantee that Blomkamp will work on "Chappie" after he's done with work on "Elysium," but he did say that it's likely. Sorry, fans who were hoping "District 10" would be coming out soon.

"It may very well be my next project," Blomkamp said. "It probably will be. But A) I wanna take some time off, and B) you need to know for sure that that's what you're going to do for X number of years. I have another idea for a horror, and for a comedy, but they're way less fleshed out than 'Chappie.' 'Chappie' 's ready to go, and I think 'Chappie' 's what I'm making. But I'm gonna take some time to make sure."

Speaking of a "District 9" follow-up, Blomkamp did tell The Playlist that he'll only be working with Peter Jackson again if it's on that movie. He just doesn't know when—or if—that will ever happen.

"I'm not sure I'm making that film," Blomkamp said. "It would be cool, but these films take two or three years to make, and the investments are so extreme, you can't accurately predict where you'll be a few years from now, I believe. If you're not creatively invested in it, you're making a mistake, and that creative investment happens day to day. So I don't know when that feeling for a 'District Whatever' film happens."

  • Johnny Depp Will Star In New Wes Anderson Film

    Johnny Depp

    By Meg Malone

While we are used to seeing Johnny Depp and Tim Burton collaborations, this time Depp will be working with another beloved director of quirky-awesome films. Yesterday Deadline reported that Wes Anderson has tapped Johnny Depp to star in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" — an upcoming project that Anderson wrote and will also be directing.

This news appears to confirm a report from last week via Twitch that said Anderson had approached Depp — as well as a host of other big names including Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton and Jude Law — to appear in a yet-to-be-titled project. With the news of Depp's casting, it seems likely that "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is this previously name-unknown project, so here's to hoping the rest of the potential casting from that initial report comes to fruition as well.

Anderson's latest, "Moonrise Kingdom," arrived in theaters in May, and at the recent San Diego Comic-Con, the trailer screened for Depp's film "The Lone Ranger," which is set for a July 3, 2013 release.

In the meantime while we wait for more details on "The Grand Budapest Hotel," may I suggest we all play a big ol' round of "Wes Anderson Bingo" to celebrate this casting news?

  • Is There A Three-Breasted Alien In 'Total Recall'?: An Investigation

San Diego Comic-Con wasn't all fun and games. There were important issues that needed to be discussed with the important people involved. Chief among them, obviously, is whether or not there will be a three-breasted alien in "Total Recall."

Next Movie sent a correspondent out into the field (aka the Sony press line) to get to the bottom of this hot-button issue and find out the truth once and for all.

There you have it. There will be a three-breasted alien in "Total Recall." Although, they could have just watched this trailer from about a month ago to find that out, but it's a lot more fun to ask Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Are you glad to hear the three-breasted alien made the cut? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!

  • Comic-Con: 'Hobbit' Cast Say Filming Was Like Returning Home

There are few properties as closely associated with geek culture as the world of J.R.R. Tolkien and "Lord of the Rings," so naturally "The Hobbit" had to make a San Diego Comic-Con appearance ahead of its December bow.

Some of the cast members stopped by MTV News' space at Comic-Con to talk about returning to Middle-earth and bringing that world to the convention.

One of the newest cast members, Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin the dwarf, was happy to bring the fans what they love. "It's been awesome, and coming here today and seeing the way the fans are expecting the film, it's really exciting, because you see that expectation and the love for the books and the trilogy," he said. "So that's been great."

Gandalf the Grey—sorry, Ian McKellen couldn't tell much of a difference, filming "The Hobbit" as opposed to "Lord of the Rings." "Much of it is the same. If you've got 900 people working on the set one day, we'll probably know them all by sight, and you [Serkis] probably know everyone's name," he said. "I'm not as diligent as that, but the new people are the actors, so a lot of new actors, but they're not new to us because we've know them of old, from back home in the U.K. It feels very much the same but a little bit different. A little bit more streamlined."

Andy Serkis shared many of the same insights, expect that everyone seemed older. "We're all a little bit older, and there are more children about on set," he said. "The crew is fantastic. Literally, it is a bit of a time warp actually, isn't it? Because they're exactly the same people doing exactly the same jobs. Apart from that, the energy and the feel of it is pretty similar."

  • 'After Earth' Viral Video Chronicles End Of The World Via Facebook

    After Earth

    By Meg Malone

When the official plot synopsis for "After Earth" came out earlier this month, we learned the film will tell the story of teenager Kitai (Jaden Smith) who is trying to save his father, the renowned General Cypher Raige (real-life dad Will Smith) after the two crash on a planet Earth that was abandoned a millennium earlier.

Now with a new viral video out for the M. Night Shyamalan film, we get some early back story on the lead up to this Earth abandonment. According to Deadline, the video was shown at the "After Earth" Comic-Con panel on Saturday, and now the viral video is up on the official "After Earth" website (thanks to ComingSoon.net for the tip). The video begins its tale way back in 1908 with a mysterious spaceship crashing on Earth, and from there details the ancestry of the Raige family and where they fit into the technological advancements and eventual environmental destruction that led to an evacuation of the deteriorating planet.

In the video, the last dated post is from February 2070 and is titled "Earth Uninhabitable." This leaves what happened in the thousand years since the evacuation still a mystery. What does regular life look like now for Cypher and Kitai? Considering the lengthy line of Raige influence, should we expect more family history or secrets to make their way out over the course of the movie as well?

And finally on a note of pure triviality, is anyone else curious what the four new notifications could be on the teaser's Facebook page? Maybe one is an event invitation letting them know that "After Earth" is set for a June 7, 2013 theatrical release.

Does this make you want to learn more about "After Earth"? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
