Angel Haze blazes through "Werkin' Girls" at ridiculous speeds.
Washington D.C.-based rapper Angel Haze may be only 21, but she's rhyming with the kind of dominance of MCs who have decades on her. While she's already achieved some internet acclaim by freestyling over the likes of Drake, Beyoncé, and Jamie Foxx, she's finally ready to unleash her own Reservation EP on July 17, and judging by her new track, "Werkin' Girls," it sounds like she's also ready to take the rap game by the throat.

Angel Haze's flow brings to mind a dangerous combo of the rapid-fire wordplay of MGK , the whack-job wit of Danny Brown, and the razor-tongued nastiness of Azealia Banks. On "Werkin' Girls," Haze lets everybody know the kind of star she's destined to become and how quickly that's about to happen: "I'm the one to be after/ I'm sweeping you while I'm dusting/ I just popped up out the blue/ I am spontaneously combusting." We believe her.

Walk The Moon explain WTH is up with the face paint.
If you're like us, you've been obsessively listening to Walk The Moon's self-titled debut album on repeat -- "Anna Sun" is, after all, the official song of the summer after all. Luckily, we can keep feeding your obsession since the group is the MTV POSTED artist for July, meaning we'll be following their every move at POSTED.MTV.com all month long but in a healthy, non-stalkerish way.
We're still in awe of their musical magic after watching the band perform an acoustic version of "Next In Line" (on a cardboard box!), but we still demanded answers about the genesis of that whole face paint thing.
In this week's video, lead singer Nicholas Petricca explains all the face paint look: "We had this Peter Pan and The Lost Boys' vibe to the 'Anna Sun' video, and we brought in face paint as a sort of 'Hook' warpaint thing." He continues to tell us how they had face painting stations at their record release party (WHY WEREN'T WE THERE?!?!). And, eventually, face paint become their trademark. So don't be surprised if you see an entire room of people who look like the cover of a Tom Tom Club album when you hit up one of the band's live performances while they tour with fun. this summer. We're just glad we finally have a good excuse to draw on ourselves.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are basically twinsies!Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have officially turned into that couple. You know, those couples that do EVERYTHING together -- including matching their outfits. We're not grossed out by the constant cuteness the pair ooze whenever they dress alike or wear matching Air Yeezys (or in every photo of them together), but we're gonna draw the line if we start seeing the Kimye walking around with their hands in each other's back jean pockets or the million other gross things couples do. Someone has to be the PDA Police around here.
The lovebirds were snapped leaving Kanye's house (in Los Angeles, because he's got more than just one house, obviously) looking like total twinsies (most likely after a sleepover where they wore matching pajamas while planning their next corresponding outfit), and it seems like the two get more serious on the daily. The pair have vacationed with each other, buy expensive presents for each other, and West even met (and survived) Kim's family after making his first appearance on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." We're just wondering what the next big matchy-matchy step may be: Matching hairstyles, perhaps? Actually... please don't. Ever.

It's time to get familiar with Blackbear, you guys. Like ASAP.
We were kind of under the impression that we already knew everything and everyone there was to know (and love) about Justin Bieber's smash hit "Boyfriend" (like Mike Posner's influence). However, there's still one dude lurking behind the scenes. But not for long. Because here's Blackbear: formerly known as underground indie artist Mat Musto. He co-wrote Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" (we'll pause for gasps) along with Mike Posner, and he's slowly becoming one of the music industry's secret weapons.

While his best-known accomplishment to date is still his contribution to Justin Bieber's Believe, he had some time to work on songwriting skills well before that. On the songwriting front, Blackbear has already collaborated with Ne-Yo, Rivers Cuomo, Pharrell Williams, Bei Maejor, Machine Gun Kelly, and Childish Gambino. Oh, and like most people who write major hits for other people, he's been busy writing soon-to-be hits for himself: Blackbear recently released Foreplay, the first installment of a four-part EP series. His vibe defies oversimplified genre-tiziation (is that a word?), but he's got Frank Ocean's R&B sensibilities mixed with a hint of Owl City's twinkling pop synths mixed with that folktronica sound I can't ever get out of my brain.
"Teenage Waste," the first track on Foreplay (album art hat tip, by the way) showcases Blackbear's smooth vocals with his out-of-the box production value. By the end, you're really not quite sure if you've just listened to dubstep, pop, or R&B, but you do know that, as the EP's name suggest, you're gonna wanna stick around for more.

Jay Sean and Tyga teach us how to get busy in their new video, "Sex 101."
On the off chance your parents forgot to discuss the birds and the bees with you, Jay Sean and Tyga have got you covered with their informational and instructional video, aptly titled "Sex 101." Kinda like how Brian McKnight tried to explain the mechanics of how ladyparts work, Jay and Tyga took on the charitable mission of teaching people who to get it on. In case you needed help with that kinda stuff. Not saying I do, or don't. Er, whatever.

Shot in black and white, Jay Sean (who's clearly been hittin' the gym.... HIYEEEEE!) takes over a mansion, and surprise surprise, it's full of half-naked chicks who are ready to hook up with him. He selects his favorites (sorry, lesser ladies!), and they share a steamy shower scene, as he illuminates his sexual prowess: "I wanna take you home/ Are you coming?/ Get right to the point with my lovin'/ You learning something new for the night/ I can do you right/ I can change your life."
In what is perhaps the best part of the entire video, Tyga shows up in HOLOGRAM FORM! Tyga the hologram makes his way over to the chick-filled mansion, where he proudly delivers his verse. Sure, it might not be Tupac hologram caliber, but we appreciate the effort nonetheless. Plus, we were almost getting bored of checking out Jay Sean's guns and watching him hook up with hot chicks.

Watch Boys Like Girls' origami-inspired lyric video for their ballad, "Be Your Everything."
Sorry, but rocker dudes who can appreciate origami? SWOON! Though you might have never guessed it, the dudes in Boys Like Girls, back from their hiatus, appreciate this delicate form of Japanese paper art so much that they made it a central theme in the lyric video for their emotional new ballad, "Be Your Everything." In the video, lyrics to the band's new song appear handwritten on pieces of composition notebook paper. A pair of hands expertly folds the paper into an origami crane as more lyrics unfold until the hands close the composition notebook forever. I don't know why I find this so adorable, but for some reason I do. (I guess maybe because I still have a very emo, very soft spot for Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.)
Boys Like Girls' Crazy World EP drops July 17th, and includes the songs "Be Your Everything," plus "Life Of The Party" and " The First Time."

The "carefree" Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo. Ugh. So not into this.
Though it pains us to even discuss, newly single Adam Levine is no longer newly single!! The Maroon 5 frontman (and my personal pick for "best bone structure of 2012") was spotted in New York City walking hand-in-hand with his unfairly long-legged new model girlfriend Behati Prinsloo. The abnormally toned duo grabbed a quick bite at Blue Ribbon Restaurant before sauntering back to their hotel in SoHo to
have the steamiest romp possiblewatch "The Real Housewives Of New York," probably.

Adam clearly said something to make Behati smile, and he's clearly thrilled by her response. Congratulations, Mr. Levine! You're now officially a modelizer. Enjoy it while it lasts, which incidentally might be forever, because you'll probably be hot forever.

Rihanna remembers her late grandmother with a cold one.
Rihanna's been in Barbados for the past few days to be with her family after her beloved grandma passed away. Rihanna paid her respects by attending the funeral and by sharing many sweet photos of her GranGran Dolly on Instagram. But this photo that she just shared on Twitter reminds us that Rihanna's constantly mixing together the bad girl with the good. (It's also a reminder that Rihanna looks beautiful with no makeup on at all). The fact that Rihanna made time to toast her grandma with a beer, along with the cute caption -- "I had to!!! Sorry granny" -- just shows that that girl's fame hasn't gone to her head. We'll drink to that. (A virgin daiquiri, of course). Here's to Grandma Dolly!

Ellie Goulding dropped 'Hanging On' with Tinie Tempah, and it has us, well, hanging on for her next album.
Ellie Goulding's breakout single, "Lights," has had a slow rise to the Top 10, even though it's now gone double platinum in the U.S. (hey girl hey!). So for those of us who've been hooked on the alt-pop chanteuse's haunting vocals and glittering synth production for a minute, it was an unexpected little gift to find that Ellie dropped a gorgeous new track, :Hanging On," via SoundCloud yesterday. Better still? She teamed up with fellow U.K. crossover superstar Tinie Tempah for the collaboration. (For those keeping track, that's a double "Hey girl hey!" as far as we're concerned.)

"Hanging On," is a stunning cover of dream pop act Active Child's 2011 single "Hanging On," all delicate, shimmering synths draped under ethereal vox. "I just can't keep hanging on to you and me," Ellie cries out over a big dubby beat drop in the chorus, "I just don't know what is wrong with you and me." Tinie's verse, on the other hand, is raw and aggressive, dripping with vitriol, marking a striking contrast to Ellie's angelically delicate soprano. The track maintains the gorgeous folktronica of Ellie's debut while still showcasing a marked artistic evolution that offers up an addictive teaser of what she'll deliver on her sophomore effort. Quite simply, to turn a cheesy little pun of a phrase, we're hanging on for dear life waiting for her next album to drop. Given that she's been in the studio with A-list producers like Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia and her boyfriend (and our hair icon) Skrillex? This new era should be pretty major.
