- J.K. Rowling Says The Door Is Open For More Harry Potter Stories: How About These?
Put down the butterbeer, launder your dress robes and climb out from beneath that pile of chocolate frog wrappers, Potter fans—because J.K. Rowling just gave an interview to the BBC pegged to her first adult novel, "The Casual Vacancy," in which she admitted to having "left the door ajar" for another book or two in which wizards are front and center.
Which, in case you've failed to grasp the gravity of this situation, is fancy English-person-speak for OMG YOU GUYS THERE COULD BE MOAR HARRY POTTERS.
Or at least, more stories from the Potterverse; Rowling has been pretty clear that as far as future books are concerned, Harry and his contemporaries have run their course as characters. But that doesn't mean that Hogwarts couldn't give birth to a new legend—or an old one—that would satisfy the yearning of Potterheads everywhere who just can't accept that it's over. And because we're
obsessed to the point of madnessslightly intrigued by the possibility of more Potter, we went ahead and came up with three ideas for Rowling's re-entry into the wizarding world. Check them out after the jump!1. "Salazar Slytherin and the Snake Who Loved Him" (and other origin stories of the Hogwarts founders)
"Batman Begins," "X-Men Origins," "Star Wars" Episodes I, II, and III—there's no more popular way to breathe new life into a beloved franchise than with a return to the bare beginnings. And best of all, the world of Harry Potter is tailor-made for such a treatment; who hasn't wanted to know more about the dirty youthful dealings of Salazar Slytherin, or the sordid family drama that was the Ravenclaws' undoing? Not to mention that an inventive author could get four books out of the deal, one for each Hogwarts house namesake.2. "Amazing Animagi, Illustrated"
A companion text to the Potter series, this collection of stories would introduce readers to the world of magical shapeshifters, from famous animagus Sirius Black, to crafty sometimes-beetle Rita Skeeter, to the unfortunate and oft-forgotten Anna Lidicus, who tragically melted to death when she unthinkingly morphed into an earthworm on a New York City street in the middle of July.3. "Margaret Thatcher and the Magic Wand"
Trading on both the unexplored potential of the oft-mentioned relationship between the prime ministers of both the ordinary and wizarding worlds, as well as the popularity of erotic trilogy "Fifty Shades of Grey," this steamy offshoot featuring sex, lies and political intrigue would be a perfect follow-up to the Potter series for now-adult readers who like their reading material to mature along with them.Would you read one of these books? Переслать - Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jennifer Lawrence Among 25 Coolest People In Movies
We've been kinda leery of human superlative lists ever since that time in sixth grade when our best friend—or so we thought—made a lunchtime seating arrangement called "The Special People Table" and did not leave room for us, and we had to eat in the girls' locker room, even though we gave her our favorite red Fruit Roll-Up as collateral. Ugh, memories. But whatever personal baggage you bring to this post (GAH THE FRUIT ROLL-UP WHYYYYYYY), there's no denying that this NextMovie list of the 25 Coolest People in Movies is kinda right on.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Ryan Gosling? Jennifer Lawrence? McLovin?! Yes, and yes, and yes, and uh-huh: this list features pretty much every person you've ever gazed up at on-screen and thought, "You, sir/madam, are the coolest cool ever to cool." So click on over to see who's cool, and how! And then come back and sit down and we'll talk about it. Bring Fruit Roll-ups. The red kind. Don't ask why.

Переслать - 'New Girl' Romance For Jess And Nick? Not So Fast...
At the end of the first season of "New Girl," Jess and the crew saved poor Nick from making the worst mistake of his life by leaving the roomies' cozy L.A. pad to move in with his pretty terrible girlfriend. And, while much of season one teased that something romantic could eventually happen between Nick and Jess, the folks behind the characters, Jake Johnson and Zooey Deschanel, say that it might be a while before they end up together.
"I'll tell you, I think Jess got Nick back [when they were in the desert]. She gave him the talk. I think it meant something to him and that SOB wasn't ready to leave," Jake told MTV News, before joking that he often gets asked about the potential for Nick and Jess."Well, you know, we haven't been asked that so [laughs]... I think that something eventually is going to happen, but they're not telling us, and I'll be honest, I don't think they know."
Zooey seemed open to the idea of having a kissing scene with Jake when that time should come, mostly because she's open to any and all scenes involving Nick and Jess and their are-they-or-aren't-they chemistry.
"We like doing scenes together, so our main wish is that we get to do scenes together whether that's romantic scenes or just hilarious scenes, hilarity."
The new season of "New Girl" kicks off tonight on Fox with two new episodes.

Переслать - 'Looper' Star Emily Blunt: Queen Of Sci-Fi?
This week on MTV's After Hours, we have just one vital question to ask: What happens when the charming Josh Horowitz sits down with Emily Blunt, declares the agreeable actress the Queen of Sci-Fi, and then puts her to the test with an impromptu pop quiz about Joss Whedon, "Battlestar Galactica" and the ins and outs of "Stark Trek" genealogy?
Answer: an important lesson about what happens when you assign the "Queen of Sci-Fi" label to a lady without properly vetting her first, Josh.
As it turns out, despite her starring roles in "The Adjustment Bureau" and "Looper," Emily has not osmotically absorbed enough geek cred to answer even the most basic questions about beloved sci-fi cult favorites...or to show them the proper respect, for that matter. For instance, after failing to identify the made-up curse that was propagated by the good folks on "Battlestar Galactica," Emily replied incredulously:
"Frak? Are you serious, that 'frak' is a swear word?"
And then—and then!—she went one step further, making the following proclamation about BSG and earning the scorn of nerds the world over:
"It's a piece of frak."
OH NO YOU DIDN'T EMILY. Oh NO you did NOT.
Needless to say, we were seriously considering throwing the actress to the Reavers and/or pitching her headlong into the mouth of a sarlacc... that is, until she found a way to redeem herself with a halfway decent Yoda impression. Which means that we'll let it slide this time, but if it happens again, the frak is going to hit the fan.
Could you have passed Emily's "After Hours" test?
Переслать - Mindy Kaling's 'Project' Wardrobe An Upgrade From 'The Office'
"The Mindy Project" premieres tonight on Fox, and while star Mindy Kaling spent years playing vapid Kelly on "The Office," she's finding a little more heart (and a much better wardrobe) for her eponymous comedy.
The show follows lady doctor Mindy as she navigates life and love in the big city. She's got it together as a doctor, but is less stellar at making the whole romance thing work. In a lot of ways, she's like a nicer, more mature Kelly.
"I mean one thing that's really fun is like when you come from 'The Office' and then you go to play a character who has, like, disposable income and lives in New York City," she told MTV News recently. "I get to wear sometimes, like, kind of cool clothes. It's like when you create a show and you get to actually let yourself wear cool clothes. Cause I worked in Scranton. I worked at a paper company in Scranton."
While she will be playing doctor, she didn't have to learn music medical jargon to pull it off on the show. "I wanted it to have as much to do with medicine as 'The Office' had to do with paper, and have it like sometimes you just forgot like, 'Oh yeah. It's an office and they do something there, but I don't remember what it was episode to episode.' But then, occasionally, there is stuff that is medical," she said. "But I don't think it's going to be a lot of me wearing my scrubs [and being like], 'Got to get to the hospital, deliver that baby.' It won't be a lot of medical terminology."
"The Mindy Project" debuts tonight at 9:30/8:30 C.

Переслать - Selena Gomez Sounds Just Like Herself In 'Hotel Transylvania'
If you love to play the audio version of "Name That Actor" every time a new animated film full of famous voices comes out, you'll be delighted to hear that the soon-to-be-released "Hotel Transylvania" has a very recognizable Selena Gomez giving voice to Mavis, the daughter of Dracula.
Selena, on the other hand? Not so delighted.
"No, I attempted and failed," she moaned, when MTV News' Josh Horowitz asked her if she'd changed her vocal tune for the film. According to Selena, she gave it an earnest go—"I tried when I got the script, I was like, 'Oh, maybe I can do something cool and different!'"
But alas, it was not to be: "I ended up going in, and they were like, 'No, we like your voice best.' I was like, 'Oh, all right.'"
Womp, womp. And if you check out the animated flick when it hits theaters this week, no doubt you'll know Selena's dulcet tones anywhere. But considering that the girl already has one voice that's way lovelier than those of most ordinary humans, it doesn't really seem fair that she should be stockpiling a whole bunch more voices on top of it, y'know? HONESTLY. Let's not be greedy.

Переслать - 'Pitch Perfect' Premiere: Peep The Pretty
Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Doooooooo
Just kidding. There was no tuning up necessary at last night's red-carpet premiere for "Pitch Perfect"—the film's starlets were in near perfect harmony as they celebrated their upcoming a cappella comedy, which opens in limited release this Friday, going wide October 5.
The film stars Anna Kendrick as a reluctant recruit for the all-girl singing group The Bellas, who are battling for the national collegiate a cappella title against their campus' rival guy group, The Treblemakers. And it's clear from these soiree snaps that Anna and co-stars Brittany Snow and Anna Camp have made real-life use of their chorus choreography—just look at those matching poses!
But if anyone hit a sour note on the carpet, it may have been Hana Mae Lee and her eccentric white blouse and billowy emerald skirt with fuchsia suspenders ensemble, which won't be topping the charts anytime soon. However, fellow Bellas Alexis Knapp and Ester Dean seemed to get the cue about metallic-themed wear, looking dazzling in their respective duds.
And after a quick change into a slinky black number, Anna caught up with co-stars Rebel Wilson (love that shade of red, girl!) and Elizabeth Banks (who also produced) for a post-premiere party. Here's hoping they didn't have to sing for their supper!

Переслать - Lucy Hale Wants You To See 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower'
We've been sweating the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's 1999 novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" for weeks now. And not because Logan Lerman bribed us with a lifetime supply of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, but because the film is just that good. Now that "Perks" is playing in both New York and Los Angeles, you don't have to take just our word for it.
"Pretty Little Liars" actress Lucy Hale hopped on Twitter today to sing the praises of the movie and quote one of our very favoritest lines: "We accept the love we think we deserve."
Everyone go see Perks of Being a Walllflower. Beautiful film with a beautiful message..."We accept the love we think we deserve."
— Lucy Hale (@lucyhale) September 24, 2012
Do not despair if "Perks" hasn't opened in your city just yet, Crushers. The coming-of-age tale is coming to additional select theaters on Friday, so keep your ears pricked (or perked!) for showings in your area!

Переслать - 'Vamps' Trailer: Undead In The City With Alicia Silverstone And Krysten Ritter
Writer-director Amy Heckerling is taking a bite out of the vampire genre with "Vamps," which hits select theaters on November 2 and Blu-ray/DVD on November 13. And, from the just-released trailer for the flick, it's clear that Heckerling is using her quirky voice to bring to life the world of the undead.
The film stars "Clueless" alum Alicia Silverstone and "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" funny lady Krysten Ritter as bestie vamps living it up in the Big Apple, complete with a a vampire support group and a life that allows them to meet mortals. When Krysten's character falls for "Downton Abbey" cutie Dan Stevens (his character's last name is Van Helsing, natch), things take a turn for the funny as his mortal parents try and size up her intentions for their son.
Sure, the lines are a bit cheesy (like when Alicia quips, "Staying young is getting old," or when Krysten jokes, "I didn't put in rollers. I'm going to have coffin hair tomorrow"), but the satire certainly fits into the Heckerling mold of sassy one-liners.
Earlier this year, Hollywood Crush spoke to Krysten about the film: "It's 'Clueless' for vampires," she said, which is sort of true considering that both Cher Horowitz and Mr. Hall himself (Wallace Shawn) star. Krysten added, "Amy Heckerling is an idol of mine. I've always looked up to her and admired and adored her so it was really fun to get to work with her."
