- Star Spotting: Gwen Stefani Is A Human Chessboard (PHOTO)
Wanna play chess on Gwen Stefani's coat? You can!
We love multitasking, and we really love Gwen Stefani! Put those two things together and you've basically created our dream human. But what does the No Doubt frontwoman have to do with multitasking, you ask? Well, we could start by reminding you that she's a mother, a pop-star, and a clothing designer, but she's got a few other tricks up her sleeve courtesy of some amazing outerwear!
The "Easy" singer was snapped arriving in London yesterday, and guess what? Her black and white checkered coat could also double as an impromptu chessboard. Multitasking! Aside from her coat being a bold fashion statement, we're also kinda like, "what if Gwen was jet-setting with her family and her flight got delayed?" All she has to do is lay her coat flat on the ground and shazam! A chessboard awaits. You could also maybe play tic tac toe, but writing on a (presumably) expensive jacket might not be Gwen's idea of a good time. Or it might be. Never know!

Переслать - Buzz Bites (9/26/12): Lady Gaga Launches 'A Body Revolution 2013'
Lady Gaga launches "A Body Revolution 2013" to help with body image issues.
+ After Lady Gaga received unwarranted heat about her body, she decided to take action. She launched "A Body Revolution 2013" on her Little Monsters site. Revealing that she's suffered from bulimia and anorexia, Gaga posted her own body-positive photos and wrote, "Now that the body revolution has begun, be brave and post a photo of you that celebrates your triumph over insecurities." (MTV News)
+ Big ups to Karmin's Amy Heidemann, who won Rolling Stone's fan-voted contest to be the magazine's "Women Who Rock" cover woman. The issue hits shelves Sept. 28. (Rolling Stone)
+ Seriously, Kelly Clarkson slays at pretty much everything she does. Here she is once again aptly covering a fan-requested tune, nailing Adele's "Someone Like You." (Just Jared)
+ R. Kelly wrote the late Whitney Houston's "I Look To You," and for her posthumous greatest hits album, I Will Always Love You, he's turned the song into a duet. Also, check out her previously unreleased tune from the album, "Never Give Up." The set drops Nov. 13. (RapFix)
+ You've registered to vote, right? Right?? If not, you can register via Rock The Vote and also watch Miley Cyrus, "Glee," and more stars' "Funny Or Die/Rock The Vote" video to help get you (hilariously) pumped for Nov. 6. (Idolator)
+ Justin Timberlake, who is an investor in Myspace, revealed a new format for the site. Check out the video he tweeted for its reboot. (Side note: we're totes stoked about you being a biz mogul and a movie star and all, but how about some new music too, please?) #pleasebringthesexybackagain (RapFix)

Переслать - Song Premiere: Mario, 'Killa'
Mario is back with his latest song, "Killa." Let him love you, you guys!
You and I both know that we each listened to Mario's "Let Me Love You" and "Breakup" about 99,000,000 times respectively when they dropped. You and I also both know that our undying love for that song has made you TERRIBLY excited to check out "Killa," Mario's latest jam. We both know a lot. Let's pat ourselves on the back.
Listen to Mario's "Killa" after the jump.
Produced by Glass John, "Killa" is Mario's own independent release before his upcoming full-length album drops on RCA. Set to a hazy, laid-back R&B track, "Killa"'s production is sparse, leaving ample room for Mario's commanding vocals to take hold as he coos "you got that killa, killa, killa, killa, killa" x 1000. Yes, it's repetitive, but it's so alluring and hypnotic that we don't even fully care what he's singing. That is, of course, unless it's along the lines of a "Let Me Love You" part deux, in which case we'd be the happiest Mario fans on Earth. HINT HINT HINT.

Переслать - Star Spotting: Being 'Mean Stinks,' Demi Lovato Says So! (PHOTO)
Demi Lovato visits the Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem for her "Mean Stinks" anti-bullying campaign.
It's not news that Demi Lovato is free-of-flaw in every way possible (See: Great hair and style), but we especially love the girl's GIGANTIC heart! She's officially the nicest person EVER now that she's been named the official "Mean Stinks" Ambassador for Secret deodorant. Just to be clear: Not only is Demi formally combating against bullying, but she's also taking down unnecessary body odor at the same time. #Talent
Check out Demi Lovato talking about her new role as the "Mean Stinks" Ambassador after the jump!
We really can't think of a stronger person than the "Give Your Heart A Break" singer to take on the role of Ambassador (where her job entails promoting "gaining up for good" against girl-to-girl bullying) after the "X Factor" judge recently admitted being bullied herself. And because Demi always gives 100 percent in everything she does, she made time in her schedule to show up at the Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem for the school's "Drama Free School Year" anti-bullying assembly. She even snapped a few photos with the adorbz students and shared some helpful hints on how to inspire positive change among their classmates (aka best high school assembly ever). Now, excuse us while we go buy a million of these deodorants, because then maybe some of Demi's PURE AMAZINGNESS will rub off on us.

Переслать - Miley Cyrus Twerks It Out In A Bikini Top And Daisy Dukes On 'Two And A Half Men' (PHOTO)
Miley Cyrus asks Ashton Kutcher to lather her in sunscreen on "Two And A Half Men." What could go wrong?
If you thought Miley Cyrus' character Missi on "Two And A Half Men" would have great hair and spark some hilarz hijinks (just like her retired "Hannah Montana" character), well, you'd be straight-up right! Except this time instead of protecting her secret identity in sparkly ensembles and wigs, she reveals it straight away in a tiny bikini top and daisy dukes. (And it doesn't hurt that she's making certain hunky costars visibly nervous, either.) [Enter: Studio audience "wooo-ing."]
The "Party In The U.S.A" singer will make her first special appearance on the CBS show playing a daughter of Walden's (Ashton Kutcher) friend from out of town who not only packs her smallest outfits for the trip (JK!) but apparently makes Ashton's character all kinds of uncomfortable. This particular still captures the scene where an all-grown-up Miley wears a teeny-weeny bathing suit and asks a very nervous Ashton for help with her sunscreen. Clearly Ashton doesn't have any problem assisting! (Because WHO WOULD?) But don't worry, they're just acting, and Miley Cyrus is still planning to marry her hunky real-life man Liam Hemsworth after she finishes her new album. But right now, she's just being Missi!

Переслать - Whoa. Demi Lovato's Blue-Green Hair TOTALLY WORKS On Her! (PHOTO)
Demi Lovato is totally werquing her blue-green hair!
As you may know by now, Demi Lovato's not
the kind of girl who panics about trimming her split ends at the hair salon (i.e. US). Nope, Demi is totally fearless when it comes to hairstyles -- in recent months, she's rocked everything from Lady Gaga look-alike blonde hair to cotton-candy colored pink locks, to bangs, and now a totally bold, blue-green-under-the-sea-inspired look! And guess what? IT'S WERQING! Big time.Demi and her mermaid-y blue-green locks recently stopped by Katie Couric's "Katie" show where she performed and sat down with Katie to candidly discuss her eating disorder. And yes, while this is a crucially important subject, it wouldn't be totally superficial of us to acknowledge just HOW HARD that blue-green hair is working on Demi, would it? Also, as a totally unrelated, but equally crucial aside, can we just mention that we were a tad too jealous that the "X Factor" judge got to sleep in the Barbie suite at the Palms in Las Vegas!? Between the pink hotel and her new blue-green hair, Demi is slowly but surely checking off all the colors of the rainbow in just one week.

Переслать - New Video: Green Day, 'Stay The Night'
Billie Joe & Co. plead for a girl to come home with them in "Stay The Night."
Green Day have had a very busy week (thankyouverymuch). The pop-punk band released their ninth studio album, ¡Uno!, this week, and despite the news of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong seeking treatment for (alleged) substance abuse, the band continues to soldier on with a number of TV appearances. They also dropped a video for their latest single, "Stay The Night," an anthemic shout-along in which Billie Joe just wants to go home with someone special. Seeing as how he's an enormous rock superstar, we're fairly sure he won't have too much trouble finding SOMEONE.
Watch Green Day's "Stay The Night" video after the jump.
In the performance-heavy clip (which bares a resemblance to their recent clip for "Nuclear Family"), we see the boys rocking out on a soundstage, lyrically begging a girl to take them home. "I got to know if you're the one that got away/ Even though it was never meant to be." Oh, Billie Joe, ever the hopeless romantic. The bare-bones song is a part of the overall back-to-basics theme of ¡Uno!, which the band has said is inspired by rock-and-roll legends like The Ramones, The Beatles, and honestly, very early Green Day. Trust, we are DEF OK with that, Green Day,... but we'll have to think about going home with you. How could you think we're that type of blog?!

Переслать - Katy Perry Looks Like A Flawless Beauty Queen In Japan (PHOTO)
Katy Perry perfects the beauty queen wave (obvs) while promoting her "Part of Me" film in Japan.
Katy Perry's been keeping it on the down low since the 2012 MTV VMAs (where she sparked a jealously monsoon after kissing One Direction's Niall Horan), but we're happy to report that her (relatively short) time away from us hasn't made her any less flawless -- if anything the girl is STILL QUEEN OF EVERYTHING, including, but not limited to: looking GORG, wearing AMAZING "Daria" nail art, and singing One Direction songs to Rihanna. So, OK, we miss you Katy. Can you come back to the States now? (And can you teach us how to paint "Daria" characters on our fingers?!)
The "Wide Awake" singer has been on tour in Japan and recently hit up Tokyo to promote her "Katy Perry: Part Of Me" movie premiere. When she wasn't being swarmed by adoring fans, Katy spent other moments wearing a cloud print dress and showing off her stellar beauty queen wave. (Quick wave tip I've picked up: It's elbow-elbow, wrist-wrist OR pretend like you're screwing in a light bulb! Thanks, "Toddlers and Tiaras!") We'd totally support Katy if she wanted to take on beauty pageants in between recording her next album -- because she'd obvs win every single category! But we also wouldn't mind seeing her take on Honey Boo Boo Child in a Total Tiara Face-Off.

Переслать - New Song: Frank Ocean, 'Blue Whale' (NSFW)
Frank Ocean raps (not sings!) his way through "Blue Whale."
It shouldn't be a surprise that we're completely and utterly obsessed with Frank Ocean (hello, he KILLED it at the 2012 MTV VMAs with that minimalist performance of "Thinkin Bout You"), which means that we'll totally support him even when when he debuts a brand-new track that, get this, DOESN'T EVEN FEATURE HIM SINGING. No vocals, no pipes, not one bit!
Listen to Frank Ocean's "Blue Whale" after the jump.
Frank's new track is called "Blue Whale," which he debuted via his Tumblr page. And though the song does not feature Frank's smoooooth vocal range, it certainly didn't leave out Frank's trademark introspective and poignant lyrics: "If I ever have a daughter, I wonder what I could call her/ Nine months after I f*** on the beach, I guess I call her karma.../Life goes on pimpin', the wise don't doubt it." Would we want the channel ORANGE mastermind to ditch singing all together? Please no. And we'd never fully recover if he did. But we're completely in favor of trying new things -- so by all means, Frank, work that creative muscle! (But also, sing us another song soon.)

Переслать - Lana Del Rey, Dragonette, Kylie Minogue + More: 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs Of The Week
It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!
Apparently, every pop princess in the building decided to hold a conference and release a track on the same day! As a result, we've got something special from pop's most divisive throwback chanteuse, the long-awaited return of the Queen from Down Under, a sugary-sweet sampling from a certain Canadian super-starlet, and for a little extra zest, two killer offerings from female-fronted rock troupes.
1.) Lana Del Rey, "Ride"
After serving up 2012's greatest record (according to me, anyway!) all the way back in January, stunning soul-pop singer Lana Del Rey is back for a second round of nostalgic bliss on "Ride," the lead single from her upcoming Born To Die: The Paradise Edition re-release. Produced by industry titan Rick Rubin, the slow-building triumph finds the brooding beauty hitting the dusty trail to clear her mind, resulting in one of her most majestic moments yet: "I drive fast/ I am alone in the night," she quivers, serving up some country drawl realness. (Is anyone else hearing shades of Brandon Flowers? Duet please!) It's a gorgeous conclusion to the Born To Die saga, as the throwback diva takes off on her own. "I just ride," the singer dreamily croons on repeat as the chorus fades away. Heaven is truly a place on Earth with you, Miss Lana.+ LISTEN TO LANA DEL REY, "RIDE"
2.) Kylie Minogue, "Flower"
No pop princess is more giving than Kylie Minogue, who's spent the entire year celebrating her 25th anniversary in the industry in style by showering fans with dozens of glittery goodies -- from singles, to an upcoming acoustic album, to an entire mini-tour. "Flower," Kylie's brand-new release, is the latest installment in the "K25" celebration. The song was actually written well over five years ago and Kylie performed it on her KylieX2008 tour. It became an instant fan favorite, though remained unreleased... up until now. One of Kylie's most vulnerable moments in years, "Flower" has the disco diva contemplating the child she never had. "In a while, my flower/ somewhere in a desert haze/I know one day you'll amaze me," she coos. At last, the gorgeous ballad finally sees the light of day.+ LISTEN TO KYLIE MINOGUE, "FLOWER"
Listen to more must-hear pop songs after the jump!
3.) No Doubt, "Easy""
It's been 11 years since No Doubt's last studio album, but this week, the ska-infused rock troupe have finally returned with their new record, Push and Shove. So how will the group celebrate? "I'm going to take it easy/ I'm not gonna do a thing," the ever-fabulous Gwen Stefani declares on "Easy," one of the standouts on their long-awaited 2012 effort. Well, if you insist, Miss Gwen! Complemented by gorgeous swells of strings and chilly stings of synthesizers, the power ballad brings the best of Miss Stefani's slower solo work (see: "Cool" and "4 In The Morning") to mind. So get it while it's good, people.4.) Dragonette, "My Legs"
Three years after their raucous Fixin To Thrill, Canadian electro-pop-rock outfit Dragonette have returned at last with Bodyparts. Of the many sparkling, synth-pop ditties, there's a particular standout in the mix: "My Legs." Unfortunately for lead songstress Martina Sorbara, it seems she's come down with a serious affliction. Try as she might, she just can't seem to control her legs! "I can't stop my legs/ My legs go out dancin'," Martina wails above the song's crunchy electro stomp. Thrashing around, pulling up her socks, and hitting the town once again as the beats blast into the speakers -- this one's bound to be a guaranteed showstopper in concert. (Just try not to think too much about how your body will feel the morning after.)+ LISTEN TO DRAGONETTE, "MY LEGS"
5.) Carly Rae Jepsen, "Melt With You"
She may have delivered an incredible major-label debut last week, but Carly Rae Jepsen's not done serving up more killer cuts from Kiss. "Melt With You" is one of the many bonus tracks from Miss Jepsen's new record, which is only available on the Japanese edition of the disc. But through the magic of the interwebz, the rest of the world can finally hear the stellar new track! "If I could melt with you, I would/ And find our way back to good/ Tell the world to wait outside," Carly declares on the song's soaring, nearly a cappella chorus. As with the rest of Kiss, the track is yet another bout of shimmering power-pop, as Carly pours her heart out above a surging electro-pop pulse (and vaguely dub-laden beats?) So listen, maybe!+ LISTEN TO CARLY RAE JEPSEN, "MELT WITH YOU"
Bradley Stern is a writer from Connecticut. In his spare time, he enjoys organizing his Britney Spears CD collection in reverse chronological order and writing impassioned letters to Congress urging that Madonnalogy be taught in all public schools. But most of all, he spends his time tweeting musing daily about pop music on his blog, MuuMuse.
