THIS. THIS, you guys. THIS. There's only this. Forget regret, no day but today. Because today is the day where we discovered the ONE THING (get it?) cuter than One Direction themselves -- it's THE CAT VERSIONS OF ONE DIRECTION, brought to you by the brilliant feline-minded designers of the MTV VMA promos. They skillfully leveraged the power of the internet and united two of my favorite things about being alive: One Direction and cats. THANK YOU BASED GOD!
Now usually I'm a Zayn girl, but the cat versions of Liam and Harry are SO adorable that I'm starting to rethink EVERYTHING that makes them mew-tiful.

If your dream "Boyfriend" is a guy that is capable of bringing masterful swag both on the stage AND into the kitchen, then we've got a couple of ideal boos for you right here: One Direction's Niall Horan and Justin Bieber. Both GINORMOUS pop superstars can COOK, and they were even photographed in the kitchen TOGETHER! There's just nothing hotter than imagining two talented men that can not only whip up a tasty snack, but will also let us know when it's ready in a sexy falsetto (and in Niall's case, a British accent). (Alright, a bit much, BUT STILL!)
Justin Bieber tweeted the photo with 1D's Niall Horan along with the caption "At my house cookin some noodles with @NiallOfficial." Can we just say that Justin is THE NICEST GUY for having over the competition who beat him out for 2012 VMAs in both the "Most Share-Worthy" and "Best Pop Video" categories. And forget overcrowded after-parties. What better way is there for 1D to celebrate winning "Best New Artist" than by throwing together a late-night snack with a fellow alum in the same category back in 2010?! Plus, waiting for the water to boil probably gave the guys a chance to gossip about what it was like for Niall to kiss Katy Perry at the VMAs!!! We want in on all the details too, boys!

Miley Cyrus expertly covers "Lilac Wine" in a "Backyard Sessions" video.
Wow. Who would have ever thought that Miley "Party In The U.S.A." Cyrus, daughter of Billy Ray "Achy Breaky" Cyrus and formerly known as "Hannah Montana," had the vocal chops to tackle James Shelton's 1950s' classic song "Lilac Wine"? Or maybe you're a little more familiar with the 1990s Jeff Buckley rendition? Either way, our eyes are in full balloon-plate mode, because Miley, you NAILED IT! We will absolutely never doubt you again. Because that's not an easy song to sing!

Filmed as an informal "Backyard Sessions" series, Miley is shown pre-pixie cut (but it looks like she may have had shears on the brain with her hair pulled into a slick, tight knot. Little did she know that someday very soon she would be in haircut cahoots with Pink at the 2012 MTV VMAs!). She's also shown sitting down with her band in a serene garden space as she sings huskily into a standing mic. In fact, Miley's husky vocals are probably the loveliest part of her cover, which is full, serious and studied. It exhibits an obvious amount of musical (and perhaps personal) growth. Because really, we have to ask ourselves: Did WE listen to the same exact music when we were 19 as we did when we were 15? I think not. Well done, Miley!

Miley Cyrus and Pink had hair mind-meld at the 2012 MTV VMAs.
As you all probably know by now, Miley Cyrus recently chopped off her long, brown hair and is now sporting a MUCH edgier short blonde pixie cut! Wanna know who else has a killer blonde pixie cut? Pink! Both gals also happened to be at the 2012 MTV VMAs last night (Pink nailed her performance of "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" while Miley presented) and of course, the entire world noticed that they looked like legit twins! In fact, we'd even say these two give Tia and Tamera from "Sister Sister" a run for their money. (All except for that teeny tiny detail of their being over a decade apart in age.)
Our gurls over at MTV Style totally called it.
In our excitement over this Miley-and-Pink twins development, we may have also totally blacked out and asked our photo team to create the above GEM of an image. Because WHY NOT? IT'S THE INTERNET! And aren't two (blonde) heads always better than one? Especially better when they're both pop stars? Now that's what we call A MEETING OF THE MINDS. (Har. Couldn't resist the Dad joke. Sorry.)

Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa's love makes us feel safer in this uncertain world.
Dear Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose,
First of all, mazel tov on your baby bump! You were both rocking the parents-to-be glow last night while posing on the 2012 MTV VMA Red Carpet, and you know what? You guys looked GOOD. Wanna know what else looked phenomenal? YOUR LOVE! In addition to slaying the fashion game -- pregnant Amber Rose turned up in a nude lace dress and outfoxed pretty much all of the not-pregnant chicks on the red carpet.
You two were the sweetest, loveliest of couples, fawning over each other, patting Amber's belly, holding hands, and being the nuzzliest couple at the VMAs (besides Katy Perry and Rihanna) but NEVER in that eye-rolly PDA way. Only in the way that's like TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE LIKE THAT. And I know Wiz is OVER THE MOON over your pregnancy, but we're basically kvelling like proud hens over here, too.
Again, we're not into starting feuds all up in this blog, but if the 2012 MTV VMAs were a high school yearbook (and let's be honest -- the VMAs are basically an enormous pop prom), you guys would easily win "Cutest Couple." (Not that you should be pregnant in your high school yearbook.) I'm so obsessed with how cute this entire thing is that I'm counting down the days until we can see your li'l one stuntin' in those Gucci diapers Mac Miller's gonna send over. Also, I'm envisioning playdates with Blue Ivy. We honestly cannot wait to meet the soon-to-be chillest baby ever. And by "meet," we mean obsessively stalk your Twitter feed until the baby comes and you post a Twitpic.

YEAH, B*TCHES. WE WON!
It's time to lay down your swords, Bielebers and Directioners. The battle for "Most Share-Worthy VMA Video" is over! And though we know it was an incredibly close race, there can be only one victor. After what had to be the craziest, most heated Twitter competition of ALL TIME, One Direction won the VMA title for Most Share-Worthy Video for "What Makes You Beautiful" with 27,972,134 total tweets, (just barely) beating out Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend," which garnered 26,563,153 total tweets. Also in the running were Carly Rae Jepsen's much-YouTube'd hit "Call Me Maybe," Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know," and Beyoncé's "Countdown" of epic Snuggie Boy fame.
I mean, we're hardly running an electoral college here, but this race ended up being what our founding fathers referred to as "ridick" when they were drafting the Constitution that allows us to freely vote in a democracy. And stuff. But, we digress. We'd instead like to wish Harry, Niall, Louis, Liam, and Zayn a HUGE congrats for winning the VMA title (plus two other VMAs for "Best New Artist" and "Best Pop Video," and to reassure all Beliebers that there are no hard feelings between JB and 1D. In fact, Justin Bieber and One Direction even celebrated last night by cooking a post-VMAs meal together! Because real men aren't afraid to make peace over a rich and creamy alfredo.

If you're into British boy bands (because who isn't?!), then this is definitely your week. Sure, One Direction may have been the big winners at last night's 2012 MTV VMAs both nailing their performance of "One Thing" and taking home a whopping three Moonmen, but let's not count The Wanted out just yet! In addition to their skyrocketing attractiveness stock (ahem, Max George), The Wanted JUST dropped a new single titled "I Found You." Honestly, we think it's gonna be a game changer, and we're not just saying that because we think they look amazing in suits!

Shirking the sugary sweet pop sensibility found in records like "Chasing The Sun" and "Glad You Came," "I Found You" features a more sophisticated, dance-driven sound. Vocally, the bros have never sounded stronger, and if the joint's infectious, thumping EDM-esque beat means anything, we have no doubt that the boys' new track will be a huge success up in da club. We're not into starting feuds or anything, but we kinda can't help ourselves: One Direction had better sleep with one (gorgeous) eye open. That's all we're saying

Taylor Swift is maybe the most surprised she's ever been.
Taylor Swift is usually the best at what she does, so if she's gonna make a surprised face, you can best believe it's gonna be like, next-level shocked. Backstage at last night's 2012 MTV VMAs, Taylor made the most surprised surprised face we've ever seen, which begs the question: What are you so surprised about, bb girl? Did John Mayer or Taylor Lautner just turn up unexpectedly?? Because we hate when that happens!! Well, at least you're looking GORG in that striped shirt and hot shorts. Whenever we run into our exes we usually end up looking, well, less sartorially inspired.
Regardless of what was actually going on, the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer still managed to summon a look of true spontaneous astonishment at the VMAs. Here are some other guesses as to why: Perhaps Taylor caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror, and was taken by her complete and utter beauty? ("Wow, my makeup is still in place after that rad crowd surf?!") I suppose we'll never know, but props to her for being more surprised than any other surprised person, like, ever! All you do is win, win, win.

Lil Wayne clearly has no issues with participating in tasteful nudity.

Personally, I believe that this dude (Alexander Antebi from Conquistador) did not get anywhere near enough screen time. I think he probably deserved ALL OF IT. Tell me one thing about this photo that makes sense? Thought so. Love this guy.
Ezra Miller and Emma Watson, costars in "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower," clearly have no interest in blending in either. But why would they want to? STICK OUT, FRIENDS.
Psy, the mastermind behind the surprise hit of the summer, "Gangnam Style," and host Kevin Hart whip out their best horsey dance.
LOOK. AT. NICKI MINAJ'S. FACE. She is not amused at WHATEVER joke is being made between Drake and Lil Wayne.
Rebel Wilson (like Weezy) is NOT afraid to show off her body... and when we say "body," we really mean a crude beach shirt drawing of one (LIKE THEY USED TO WEAR IN THE '90S!), complete with fake pubes. The Wanted may be afraid, though.
