- Nina Dobrev On The Eventual End Of 'Vampire Diaries'
by Ryan J. Downey
Savvy readers long-expected to see Elena Gilbert (SPOILER ALERT!) made-over with fangs on "The Vampire Diaries," as that's a storyline that played out in the young-adult novel source material. But the brilliant creators behind the show spent three seasons lovingly squeezing every bit of pre-vampire life out of young Ms. Gilbert before arriving at that particular point. Now, with season four kicking off next month, there's so much story to explore as Elena transitions and the aftereffects are felt by Stefan, Damon and the rest of Mystic Falls.
But some shows have a habit of overstaying their welcome. "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter has recently started talking about wrapping up after season seven, which gives him an "end game" in sight from a story point of view. Meanwhile, "Prison Break" was always planned for "prison" in season one and "on the run" in season two. So they had to come up with new ideas for seasons three and four. More than a few fans complained that "Lost" didn't seem to have things planned out far enough in advance. So is there an end game in sight for "TVD"?
Speaking with MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she was promoting "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," Nina Dobrev had this to say:
"I always like it when a show ends on a good note. I don't like anything to be dragged out past the point of quality. 'Cause I think you can only tell a story so long until it gets kind of watered down. Every show that I've enjoyed has made it to the sixth season and put a conclusion to it." So how long will "The Vampire Diaries" last? "I don't know. We'll see. It all depends on the story."
When the show returns, we'll see not only the ramifications of Elena's new undead life, but also of the choice she finally made between Salvatores at the end of season three. Where will everyone stand on, well, everything? From what we've seen and what the cast has been telling us since San Diego Comic-Con, Stefan wants to stop the transition, Bonnie has her own somewhat twisted plan, Damon thinks it's inevitable, plus he's blaming Matt, to boot. Tyler is still possessed by Klaus, who seems to be using the opportunity to make out with Caroline. There's more than one Original vampire kicking around but some new cast members too, including Phoebe Tonkin from "The Secret Circle."
We don't really want to think about the end game for "The Vampire Diaries." We want October 11 to hurry up and get here! The season four premiere is called "Growing Pains," which will be followed by "Memorial" on October 18. Quite the tantalizing titles!

Переслать - Emma Watson, Nina Dobrev Stand Out At 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower' Premiere
Starlets Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev were anything but red-carpet Wallflowers at the premiere of their upcoming lit adaptation, held last night at Hollywood's Arclight Cinerama Dome. The lovely ladies were joined at the fete by cast mates Mae Whitman, Ezra Miller, Dylan McDermott, Kate Walsh and Logan Lerman in spirit (and in cardboard) to celebrate the coming-of-age tale, which hits theaters in limited release September 21.
Emma (who plays Sam in the film) opted for a sleek look, flaunting a tiered, cream-colored Giorgio Armani halter dress with scattered beading detail. Sans accessories, the actress kept her look simple with a slicked back 'do and red lips. Co-star Nina (who plays Candace) was red hot in one of her favorite hues (coincidence that it's the color of blood?!), looking fierce in a scarlet Reem Acra dress with lace detail.
Also on hand at the "Perks of Being a Wallflower" premiere? A pair of the co-stars co-stars! Nina met up with her "Vampire Diaries" cohort Kayla Ewell on the red carpet, posing for an adorbs pic. And it didn't take magic to conjure up one of Emma's "Harry Potter" co-stars: Bonnie Wright was a pretty presence at last night's premiere too.
With its young-Hollywood-heavy cast, it's no surprise the "Perks" premiere drew a slew of 20-something stars, including a bevy of ABC Family actors. Shailene Woodley, Tyler Blackburn and Lindsey Shaw (looking oh-so sophisticated!) were among the networks' stars to get in on the premiere perks.

Переслать - Are You Up For This 'Twilight' Movie-Theater Marathon?
If you were planning to gear up for the release of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" with a marathon viewing of every single one of the prior "Twilight" movies in order... oh come on, yes you were, we all were, so don't even pretend okay?! But now, there are two exciting options for your pre-"Dawn" rewatch! You can either:
a. make it a girl's night in with your "Twilight" DVD collection, where you can hysterically sob your way through the films in relative privacy without embarrassment, or
b. enjoy a Summit-sponsored marathon of the saga in your local theater, where you can...also hysterically sob your way through the films without embarrassment, because everyone in the audience will be doing the exact same thing.
The official "Twilight Saga" marathon will come to select theaters on November 15, beginning with an afternoon screening of "Twilight," followed by "New Moon," followed by "Eclipse," followed by "Breaking Dawn: Part 1," and finally culminating in the theatrical release of "Breaking Dawn: Part 2" (yes, early!)—and with special exclusive bits 'n' pieces airing between the films. Rumor has it that one inter-movie intermission will include a 10-minute super-slo-mo sequence of Jacob's abs rippling in time to an original composition by Philip Glass!
...Okay, not really. BUT IT COULD HAPPEN.
There's just one question remaining: Will you attend the theatrical marathon? (Okay, two questions: If we go, do you think we can survive the full 10+ hours of movie on a single bucket of value-sized popcorn? But let's start with whether you'll go.)
Переслать - The 5 Books You Must Read Before Fall Movie Season
School is back in session, and not a moment too soon—because you, little movie mavens, have a whole lot of homework to do! No, no, we're not talking about chemistry or calculus (whatever that is); we're talking about the big-deal literary works that are making their way to the big screen over the next few months. From Russian epics to Beatnik road trips to (yes, always) sparkly vampires, this fall's biggest movies are largely based on books. And to more fully enjoy your experience at the theater—and, in some cases, to have even a ghost of a shadow of an idea about what the heck is going on—you should definitely spend the weeks pre-premiere immersed in the source material. With what should you stock your shelves? Here's the reading list!
"On the Road," by Jack Kerouac
Two wayward young gentleman in search of la vie boheme embark on a series of life-changing road trips in this classic portrait of the Beat Generation underbelly. This love letter to drinking, driving, self-discovery and sweaty dancing in roadside honky-tonks with girls in cheap blouses is a must-read before you see its big-screen adaptation; being able to quote passages at length is a must-do if you want to get in the pants of the college literati. (In theaters December 21)"The Hobbit," by J.R.R. Tolkien
Orcs and goblins and Gollum, oh my! The multitudinous cast of characters—of all sizes and several species—in this prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" will be easier to keep straight if you read the book first (don't worry, it's about one-fifth the size of an average Tolkein book). In the adventure that precedes the epic, Bilbo reluctantly embarks on an adventure that takes him far from the Shire, through terrible danger, and right into the path of the eeevil One Ring. (In theaters December 14)"The Perks of Being a Wallflower," by Stephen Chbosky
Despite being wildly excited for the movie version of this epistolary novel, nothing can compare to reading about Charlie's adventures in their original format — and in his peculiarly sweet, naive voice. And, more importantly, once you've read the book? You'll understand why we've been flailing so hard in anticipation of the film since, like, 2011. You may even flail a little yourself. (In theaters September 21)"Breaking Dawn," by Stephenie Meyer
The final film in "The Twilight Saga" is coming in November, and if you're one of the few people left in the fandom who haven't read the novels that inspired it...well, there's probably nothing we can say to convince you. Heck, you probably can't even read. YEAH. So go ahead, prove us wrong, hotshot. Crack that book! (In theaters November 16)"Anna Karenina," by Leo Tolstoy
The sweeping cinematic adaptation (starring Keira Knightley as the titular heroine) is a visual feast of swank gowns, furry hats, elegant parties and extravagant mustaches. The book is...really, really long. But you'll be better able to follow Anna's long, traumatic decline from scorching temptress to fallen woman—and to enjoy all the eye candy—if you sack up and get cozy with the source material. (In theaters November 16)Will you be reading any of these books before you go check out the movie?
Переслать - Watch Extended 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Trailer
We served up your first taste of the final "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" trailer during last week's MTV Video Music Awards, and now Yahoo! Movies has an extended cut of the clip.
So what's new in this latest look? Well, to start, there's an expository scene in which Carlisle Cullen explains what an immortal child is and the consequences of creating one—a sequence that's intercut with a flashback of bloodsuckers of yore being punished for just such a crime. Next, in a voice over, Bella explains that the Cullen clan is beginning the search for other vampire allies "in the most remote corners of the world." Then we see Kate from the Denali coven use her electric powers on Garrett, who's a total smitten kitten.
And those are just a few of the differences we spotted. Check out the extended "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" trailer after the jump and tell us what you see!
