  • New Song: Twenty | One | Pilots, 'Holding On To You'

Check out Twenty | One | Pilots' brand-new single, "Holding On To You."

Hey, guys! So..do you like hip-hop? Maybe some piano-rock? Or some indie rock? Well, good. So do we. (I mean, it's pretty vital to our existence here, yeah?) And now we've found a band for everybody on this list, because we're people pleasers like that. Introducing the Columbus-based two-piece Twenty | One | Pilots, who have just released the ridiculously energetic, genre-spanning track, "Holding On To You."

Listen to Twenty | One | Pilots' new song, "Holding On To You" after the jump.

Acting as the lead single on Twenty | One | Pilots' upcoming album "Vessel," we were immediately struck by the way these guys cram so many sounds into JUST. ONE. SONG. In a really good way! (Now maybe they can help me reorganize my closet...?)

Band members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun's new track opens with heavy-hitting rap verses, and quickly blends into emotion-building, piano-driven chorus lines while recalling influences ranging from vintage hip-hop acts like the Beastie Boys, power-indie pop act Matt & Kim, and piano pounders Something Corporate (or Ben Folds, depending on your taste). We even detect a little bit of strung-out Walkmen-esque vocals in there! Bottom line, here's our attention spans, Twenty | One | Pilots. You've earned them!

Twenty | One | Pilots' brand-new album "Vessel" officially drops Jan. 8.

  • New Song: Ciara, 'Sophomore'

Ciara plays the role of sexy teacher in her new song "Sophomore."

Ciara's been gone for a minute (which is about 59.5 seconds too long if you ask us!), but that's all about to change (yay!). After releasing buzz singles "Sweat" and "Livin' It Up," the "Like A Boy" singer is currently prepping to unveil "Sorry," the second single from her upcoming One Woman Army disc. But did you really think getting your Ciara-obsessed ears on "Sorry" would be easy? Nope, no you didn't. While we wait patiently for "Sorry" to drop, Ciara opted to tide us over with another new track, "Sophomore."

Listen to Ciara's "Sophomore" after the jump.

Unveiled by DJ Orator and produced by Soundz, "Sophomore" features Ciara as a grown ass woman who plans to school her partner in, ahem, sex education. Plus probably a few other nighttime activities they definitely don't teach you in school. As a seductive beat fills the track, Ciara coos: "Come be my student, Imma be your teacher/Let's play a little game, follow the leader/I give a little less in the sexy education/You know I can work it like that." OK, DAYUM. Clearly Ciara is a total sexpert, and she's absolutely OK if the world knows it. (Sounds a tad like Pink's new song preview from yesterday, no?) Werque! Also, how could you not be a sexpert when you've got such killer stems? Case closed.

  • Star Spotting: Britney Spears Finally Learns The 'Gangnam Style' Dance (PHOTO)

Psy teaches Britney Spears the moves to his smash, "Gangnam Style."

We already told you Britney Spears was dying to learn the moves to Psy's "Gangnam Style," and guess what, SHE DID. While we don't have video just yet [UPDATE: Now with video!!!], we can tell it all went down based on a series of incredible tweets and photos. (All praise social media!) Kay, so here's what we know: Britney taped an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (which airs today, thank heavens), and surprise surprise, Ellen arranged for a private Gangnam lesson with the master himself! That's right folks: Psy and Britney Spears on the VERY SAME STAGE dancing THE GANGNAM, TOGETHER, with Ellen supervising. We can't! Simply cannot.

And from what we can tell, the Psy and Britney rendezvous turned out to be pretty good! Ellen seemed thrilled about Britney and Psy's encounter, tweeting: "Wait 'til you see #BritneyDoingGangnamStyle w/Psy on my show tomorrow." Britney was also pumped about her Gangnam lesson, and as any good pop star would, sent a tweet about it out to her fans: "@TheEllenShow and I learned how to go Gangnam style from the master today! @psy_oppa #BritneyDoingGangnam." Yeahhhh, so raise your hand if you're saving the DVR of today's "Ellen" episode,  forever.

  • Buzz Bites (9/11/12): Watch Beyoncé Talk Motherhood On 'Anderson Live'

Watch Beyoncé talk motherhood and more on "Anderson Live."

+ Beyoncé was a guest on "Anderson Live" yesterday where she discussed World Humanitarian Day and motherhood. "It just gives you purpose... I realized why I was born and more than anything I want to pass to my child. The best way of doing that is not by preaching or telling her, it's by example, which is one of the reasons I'm here," she said. Also guys, Jay-Z does change Blue Ivy's diapers. (Rap-Up)

+ Pink appeared on "Ellen" yesterday where she performed "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" and an acoustic version of "Who Knew," and also talked motherhood, which includes dance parties with her daughter Willow. (Idolator)

+ Everyone relax! Nicki Minaj did not endorse Mitt Romney in her rap line on Lil Wayne's Dedication 4 mixtape. President Obama surmised in an interview that she likes to play characters. "Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support*," she tweeted. (MTV News)

+ Engaged couple Avril Lavigne and Nickelback's Chad Kroeger are not only working on a wedding, they're working together on music. Avril's upcoming fifth album is expected sometime at the end of the year or early 2013, and she worked with her future hubby on a song for it. (Billboard)

Demi Lovato dished with MTV News about what to expect on "The X Factor," which begins its new season tomorrow. "It's really honest and there's tons of drama that goes on backstage between the contestants. Which I think is going to be pretty fun to watch," she said. (MTV News)

  • Star Spotting: Lady Gaga Channels Audrey Hepburn In London (PHOTO)

     It's Breakfast With Gaga!

Lady Gaga is like, THE MASTER of re-creating looks from starlets of the past: She's gone Marilyn Monroe and fell asleep looking like Brigitte Bardot; now her getup looks like one big flawless shout-out to Audrey Hepburn. She's so "Breakfast at Tiffany's"... AND she can even supply the bacon (dress).

The "Yoü And I" singer was recently snapped outside of her London hotel sporting the perfect vintage Hepburn hairstyle and outfit while showing off some hand-drawn fan art. Gaga also kept busy by attending a Paralympic Games closing ceremony celebration party (where she sported a bridal gown!!?), and performed tributes for both Amy Winehouse and Princess Diana during her Born This Way tour performance.

Anyway, we think we're starting to understand what Gaga means when she says, "ARTPOP is not just an ALBUM; [it's] a PROJECT." Maybe her new "project" is to start dressing up like historical pop culture beauties every single day of the year?! It's Gaga, guys... Halloween isn't just a holiday to her; it's a lifestyle.

  • Austin Mahone Gets A Shorter Haircut, And We Are Madly In Love With It! (PHOTO)

Austin Mahone shows off his new shorter 'do!

Now that Austin Mahone has scored an official record deal with Chase/Universal Republic (!!!), he probably wanted to upgrade his look for the part! And what better way is there to do that than getting a stylish new haircut? Everyone knows that continued world domination begins with flawless hair! Plus Austin looks waaay older than 16 now (like, a year older -- but still). Now all he needs is some facial hair...

The YouTube sensation gone megastar recently tweeted a photo of his new shorter 'do along with the caption "What do you think? New hairstyle?:)" We really appreciate that Austin asked us for our opinion, and we're gonna be completely honest about the way we feel: WE. ADORE. IT! Not only is the hair-to-gel ratio absolutely perfect (dudes, crunchy hair is just NOT OK -- capiche?!), Austin's new style is right on par with fellow good-looking BFFs Justin Bieber and The Wanted.

Now all we have left on our wish list is a live-action preview of his "Say Something" video (DROPPING TOMORROW). And as though he heard our hair-related prayers, Austin recently shared a still from the video on his Twitter, but he's wearing a hat! We want a peek! (Also, leave it to Austin to make "hat hair" a THING).

  • Watch The Lyric Video For Alicia Keys' 'Not Even The King' (VIDEO)

Listen to Alicia Keys' latest, "Not Even The King."

Alicia Keys is a real overachiever, guys. Like, it's not enough for her to demolish her "Girl On Fire" performance at the 2012 MTV VMAs, but she also recently appeared in the Stand Up to Cancer telethon, and has just released a studio recording of her latest jam, "Not Even The King." And the "Most Productive Pop Star Of The Week Award" goes to....YEP.

Watch the lyric video for Alicia Keys' "Not Even The King" after the jump.

Cowritten by MTV Push Alum Emeli Sande, "Not Even The King" is a piano-driven track that has Alicia singing about good wealth (wealth of the soul and spirit!) versus less-good wealth (say, being able to afford the entire Alexander Wang Resort 2013 collection): "Some people waste their lives counting their thousands/I don't care what they're offering/How much gold they bring/They can't afford what we got/Not even the king/They can't afford what we got/Not even the king." Deep, Alicia! And seriously, while we totally dig Ms. Keys' slickly produced "New Day," we can't help it if all we wanna do is sit back with a nice glass of red wine and a boyfriend, and just soak in the sound of Alicia's voice. Still working on that boyfriend part, though.

  • Listen To A Preview Of Pink's New Song, 'Slut Like You'

Pink thinks you're a tad promiscuous in her latest song, "Slut Like You."

We've always known that Pink is a sucker for speaking her mind (see also "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Just Like A Pill"). Now she's continuing her truth-telling quest in her latest aptly titled jam, "Slut Like You." That's right---SLUT.LIKE.YOU. OK, Pink! We're curious! Tell us more...

Listen to a preview of Pink's "Slut Like You."

Flying high (literally) off a killer performance of "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" at the 2012 MTV VMAs (AND a head-on collision with Miley Cyrus), we're super excited at the prospect of brand-new Pink music, even if it comes in the form of a cruel, 45-second teaser preview. As you might expect, "Slut Like You" is a high-energy, sugary sweet pop song (what did you expect, a lilting ballad?) that speaks to well, those folks who may be more sexually free (see how I did that there?) than others. But instead of condemning them, Pink admits she's one of them: "I got a little piece of you/And it's just like Woo Hoo/Wham bam thank you ma'am/I'm a slut like you (I'm a slut like you)." Since Pink is currently all shacked up with husband Carey Hart and baby Willow Sage, we're thinking that in this case the word "slut" could be more a celebration of sexual expression instead of encouraging ladies to go overboard (because RESPECT YO SELF). Either way, you go get yours, lady!

  • New Song: Taylor Swift, 'Ronan'

Taylor Swift performs "Ronan" at Stand Up to Cancer 2012.

By now we're used to hearing Taylor Swift sing songs about her exes (ahem "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," ahem "Dear John," ahem basically all of Taylor Swift's songs), but this time Taylor has been spotted singing about something a little more serious. And we're loving it! (Kind of like her recent departure from little-girl sundresses to ladylike pantsuits!)

Listen to Taylor Swift's new song "Ronan" after the jump.

"Ronan," Taylor's new song, is about a boy named Ronan Thompson who succumbed to cancer last year at 4 years old. The song, cowritten by Taylor and Maya Thompson (Ronan's mom), is a heartbreakingly painful yet poignant ballad that speaks to Ronan's strength and the joy he brought to everyone in his life: "Come on baby with me/We're gonna fly away from here/You were my best four years...No one knows what to say about a beautiful boy who died." Taylor recently debuted her song at the 2012 Stand Up to Cancer event, and all proceeds from the sale of the track directly benefit the Taylor Swift Charitable Fund. Definitely take a listen to this track -- even buy it -- but make sure to grab a giant box of tissues along with your headphones. Actually, six boxes.

  • David Guetta, DMX + The xx Release Albums; 'Glee,' 'The X Factor' + 'The Voice' Seasons Premiere This Week

Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).

It's back-to-school season, which also means television season premieres! "Glee" returns to McKinley High for its fourth season on Thursday; season two of "The X Factor," featuring new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, airs Wednesday and Thursday; and season three of "The Voice," with Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton opens with a three-night premiere ("The X Factor"'s Simon Cowell is not too happy about that). Also, don't forget to pack some new tracks along with your lunch and schoolbooks. David Guetta rolls out a 2.0 set Stateside, DMX drops his seventh studio album, and The xx release their sophomore record. Meanwhile, David Byrne and St. Vincent have teamed up, and The Raveonettes and Dave Matthews Band have also released new material.

    NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ David Guetta, Nothing But The Beat 2.0: The French DJ has re-released his hit album, but in a 2.0 version that includes eight new songs. In addition to the album's original collabos, 2.0 features a whole new set of collaborations, including "Party Hard" with Ne-Yo and Akon, "She-Wolf Falling To Pieces" with Sia, "Every Chance We Get We Run" with Tegan and Sara, and "In My Head" with Nervo.

+ DMX, Undisputed: With six years between albums and some jail time, the Yonkers, N.Y.-bred rapper told MTV News, "The focus is on taking the music seriously, as a job, and less trouble." The rapper seems to have made good on his word: Earlier this year, the Ruff Ryder legend released a free EP called The Weigh In, and has now dropped the full-length effort Undisputed. "I Don't Dance" features guest MGK, while the late Notorious B.I.G. is featured on "Time To Get Paid." Swizz Beatz is among the album's producers.

The xxCoexist: The follow-up to their Mercury Prize-winning debut, singers Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim continue to run with their understated elegance on Coexist. Songs shimmer with achingly romantic vocal interplay, while minimalist beats and instrumentals softly flavor the set, serving to underscore the longing, laconic lyrics. Check out "Reunion," "Sunset," "Swept Away," and "Missing."

Check out more new album releases and upcoming TV appearances and performances after the jump.

+ David Byrne & St. Vincent, Love This Giant: Legendary Talking Heads frontman David Byrne teams up with indie darling St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, to release a record packed with funky horns, electronic beats, and a free-falling, anything goes attitude. Byrne's vocals blend well with Clark's as they each take turns at lead, while horns and funky rhythms pepper the set. Produced by John Congleton and Patrick Dillett, the album also features collabos with The Dap-Kings and Antibalas.

+ The RaveonettesObservator: The Danish duo otherwise known as Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo drop a new album one year after their last release, Raven In The Grave. The new record celebrates their 10th anniversary as a band and showcases their newly expanded fuzzed-out, hazy compositions on Americana-tinged songs like "Young and Old" and "Observations." Also check out the haunting, dark lullaby of  "Curse the Night."

+ Dave Matthews BandAway From The World: A perennial favorite amid jam band lovers and the college crowd, Dave Matthews Band has recorded their new studio effort, which features 11 songs with acclaimed producer Steve Lillywhite (who helmed the boards on DMB's first three studio records). The deluxe edition includes three live versions of songs from the album: "Gaucho," "Mercy," and "Sweet."
