- See What 'Titanic' Looks Like Without Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't always the man for the job as Jack in "Titanic." Christian Bale nearly scored the role, and Elton from "Clueless," aka Jeremy Sisto, even did a screen test, which has now hit the web.
You can check out the clip—which makes for an unnervingly long eight minutes—after the jump!
(via Yahoo! Movies)
Where do we even begin?
First of all, this screen test reaches Eric Stoltz in "Back to the Future" levels of strangeness. It really shows how much of the character came from Leo, since whoever that guy is in the clip is not Jack Dawson, dammit.
At the same time, it makes us wonder what a full-blown Jeremy Sisto version of "Titanic" would be like. Think about it. The casting would have added a whole new dimension to Rose's character, since she only seems to be attracted to men who look kind of like Billy Zane.

Переслать - Hear Tom Hanks' Eulogy And Spot-On Impersonation Of Michael Clarke Duncan
The stars came out in full force to say goodbye to Michael Clarke Duncan at his funeral yesterday.
The beloved actor passed away on September 3 due to complications after a heart attack in July, and a number of celebrities like Tom Hanks, Jay Leno, Stevie Wonder and Frank Darabont attended his funeral to wish him farewell.
CNN has a particularly touching clip from Hanks's speech at the funeral, where he recalls a story Duncan told him about his experience with Chicago gangs growing up. Note: Hanks does a fantastic impression of Duncan.
Hanks wasn't the only man to have kind words for Duncan. Leno was apparently the first person to get choked up while he was describing how the "Green Mile" star was one of the kindest men in Hollywood.
"In this cynical world of Hollywood, here was a guy who was happy for every job he got," Leno said, via People. "Just to see such a pure heart and pure kindness ... and to see him taken so early, there really are no sadder words than what might have been."
Darabont came to read a letter from "Green Mile" author Stephen King about Duncan which said, "No one has ever done a character I wrote more justice," ScreenCrush reports. Duncan's fiancé Omarosa Manigault was sobbing heavily when she described how her longtime love always stood up for her bad girl "The Apprentice" image.
" 'Aren't you that mean girl from "The Apprentice"?' " she said, recalling the pick-up line he'd use when he met her at the supermarket. "And then he worked every single day of our relationship to change that perception of me. The man you knew as an actor was my best friend."

Переслать - What Did Paul McCartney Think Of 'Perks' (And How Do We Know He Wasn't Lying)?
MTV News is currently up in Canada covering the Toronto International Film Festival and learning about all of the exciting movies we'll be treated to in the next few months, but Logan Lerman taught us something we weren't expecting.
If Paul McCartney doesn't like your movie, he won't tell you.
The former Beatle caught an early screening of Lerman's new movie, "Perks of Being a Wallflower," and the actor got a chance to meet McCartney afterward.
"I had to present the movie for this screening out in New York, and Sir Paul was there, and it was probably one of the coolest moments of my life," Lerman said. "I got to meet him, and he was complimenting the movie, and it was so crazy, because I was like, 'You're the most influential musician alive!' "
Thankfully, Lerman didn't need to heap compliments onto McCartney. He liked the movie on his own.
"He was talking to me most of the time, and I got really nervous. I said, 'Yeah, but you wouldn't tell me the truth if you didn't like it, right?' " Lerman said.. "[I thought] 'This isn't really happening.' He said, 'No I just would have left really quick, man, I just would have got out of here.' "
So if you invite Paul McCartney to see your movie and he bolts after a screening, it's pretty clear what he thought.
Переслать - TIFF Review Roundup: 'Much Ado,' 'Pines,' And 'Passion'
The folks from Film.com are back with more reviews from the Toronto International Film Festival.
Today, we have opinions on Joss Whedon's Shakespeare adaptation, "Much Ado About Nothing," the divisive Ryan Gosling drama, "The Place Beyond the Pines," and the latest from Brian De Palma, "Passion," with Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace.
"The Place Beyond the Pines"
Grade: BThe real art of "The Place Beyond the Pines" is the innovative plot construct, which can only be compared to films such as "The Godfather" and "A Prophet." No, "The Place Beyond the Pines" isn't as good as either of those films, and it's not nearly as watchable as either (less overall arc, too weighty throughout), but it certainly heralds the arrival of a vibrant director. It's not the type of film anyone outside of "serious" film fans will have the patience for, but it's no less the accomplishment for the total lack of comfort it provides an audience. -Laremy Legel
"Much Ado About Nothing"
Grade: BOffered up as karmic balance for his billion-dollar superhero enterprise "The Avengers" from this summer, this tiny friends-and-family production has the vibe of a project done on weekends and after school. That's no knock. It is vibrant and bubbly and just clever enough to engage people who wouldn't normally watch a black-and-white micro-budget Shakespeare adaptation without any big movie stars. -Jordan Hoffman
"Passion"
Grade: CI have no way of knowing what Brian De Palma's intentions were in making "Passion." If it was to make a riveting suspense film, then he surely failed. But if he's intentionally tweaking the aesthetic of cheapo cable films from the 1990s and directing his stars to emote like porn actresses between sex scenes in the hope of prompting derisive yet supportive laughter, then mission accomplished. -JH
"Byzantium"
Grade: C+Dear Neil Jordan's "Byzantium," It's not you, it's me. You are so beautiful, so earnest. You are going to make a moody, gothic fantasy fan so happy one day. And I'll be there to cheer you on, proud of your world-building efforts, your evocative photography and unique mother-daughter dynamics. I'm so sorry I won't be able to ever say I love you (or even like you), but I admire you, and I know that you'll do well. -JH
"Hyde Park on Hudson"
Grade: D+Good concept firmly in place, "Hyde Park on Hudson" spends the next hour making you reconsider its merit. A movie in desperate search of a point, "Hyde Park on Hudson" wants you to believe it's kinda sorta about civilized adult relationships and the international tumult of war… before finally deciding it's about nothing at all. The film then falls into a puddle and flails around haplessly, a stupefied gaze appearing on its eyes. Sad, really. -LL

Переслать - Ryan Reynolds And Blake Lively Got Married At A House From 'The Notebook'
Everyone wants their wedding to look like a scene out of a movie, but Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds took it one step further with their super-secret nuptials this past Sunday.
According to People.com, the "Green Lantern" co-stars tied the knot at Boone Hall Plantation just outside Charleston, S.C., a location that played a prominent role in one of the most iconic big-screen romances in recent years, "The Notebook."
In the movie, Boone Hall Plantation doubled for the vacation home of Rachel McAdam's character, Allie Hamilton, as she spent the summer falling for Ryan Gosling's Noah Calhoun.
As MTV News reported earlier today, Kelly Gukanovich from 95.1 FM told E! News that signs had gone up all around the plantation shortly before the wedding, announcing a private event.
"A few days ago, I heard Ryan was back in town. Then today, lots of signs went up at Boone Hall Plantation stating that it was holding a private event, so no one could get into the area. I also started hearing rumors that a celebrity wedding was taking place," she said.
"I am being told there were around 60 people at the event and that a local restaurant may have catered it. Ryan has always loved it here and when he got together with Blake, he started to bring her here, too."

Переслать - Ryan Gosling And Bradley Cooper Star In First 'Place Beyond The Pines' Clips
One of the biggest surprises coming out of the weekend in Toronto has to be Derek Cianfrance's "The Place Beyond the Pines."
Before TIFF, what we all knew about "Pines" was scarce at best. There was an image of a bleach blond Ryan Gosling, a supporting cast that included Bradley Cooper, and Eva Mendes, and a logline that sounded a hell of a lot like "Drive." ("A motorcycle stunt rider considers committing a crime in order to provide for his wife and child, an act that puts him on a collision course with a cop-turned-politician.")
Critics came out of weekend screenings of "Pines" surprised above all. Their opinions, on the other hand, varied wildly from passionate praise to strong dislike, but the film started some serious bidding among studios, eventually landing with Focus, who will release it sometime next year.
Now two clips from the film have shown up online, and you can check them out after the jump!

Переслать - 'Hobbit' App Introduces Lee Pace, Teases End Of 'Unexpected Journey'
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is three months away from hitting theaters, which means it's the perfect time for Warner Bros. to debut an app for the flick called "Hobbit Movies."
The app is free to download and is chock full of awesome new looks into the first "Hobbit" film. In addition to compiling the various trailers for the movie production videos Peter Jackson has released, the app is also loaded with new stills, character images and production stills that give us our long-anticipated first look at characters like Lee Pace's Thranduil.
But even more exciting than the new images -- and finally getting to see Pace as Legolas's father is definitely exciting -- is the fact that the app has released a new banner that seemingly reveals where the split between "An Unexpected Journey" and "The Desolation of Smaug" will take place. An earlier version of the banner showed that the initial plan when there had just been two movies was to split the flicks during Bilbo and the dwarves' journey down the river in barrels, but now we see that it actually will end with the big forest fire scene. It will be interesting to see how this decision affects the break between "The Desolation of Smaug" and "There and Back Again."
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is due in theaters on December 14, 2012. "The Desolation of Smaug" will hit theaters on December 13, 2013 with "There and Back Again" following on July 18, 2014. Special thanks to Collider, The Playlist and TheOneRing.net for compiling these images.

Переслать - Al Pacino To Play Joe Paterno In New Biopic
Little more than a year after the scandal in the Pennsylvania State University football program was revealed, a project is being shopped around Hollywood to tell the story of former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno.
Deadline broke the news, reporting that a film is being developed based on Joe Posnanski's biography "Paterno." Al Pacino is attached to play the title character and his manager, Rick Nicita, will act as producer. There's no word yet on whether this will end up being a theatrical film or made for television.
Though Paterno is now known best for covering up the sex scandal that has sentenced former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky to likely a life in prison, "Paterno" will not only tell that side of the story. Posnanski had been writing his biography for a year before the Penn State scandal came into the light, so his tale follows Paterno's rise and fall from glory. Paterno passed away in January due to complications from lung cancer.
Pacino is a great choice to play the man better known as JoePa, and it will be interesting to see how he pulls off such a touchy role. From the way Deadline is describing this project, the biopic doesn't sound like it will shirk from the details involving the scandal. Of course, that will be tempered by information about Paterno's "life before Penn State, his family and the iron grip he held over Penn State football and politics until his downfall." Paterno was dismissed from the Penn State football team in 2011 after news of the Sandusky fiasco broke.
Do you think Pacino is a good choice to play Paterno? Is it too soon to make a movie about this scandal? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!
