- Star Spotting: Even Steven Spielberg Geeks Out Over Rihanna
Steven Spielberg's all "OMG RIHANNA."
It's nice to know that even when we've traveled the world times over, met some of the biggest stars on the planet and become one of the most revered directors in Hollywood, we can still have a little bit of a fangirl in all of us. Steven Spielberg proved that last night at the 15th Annual EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund in Beverly Hills where Rihanna was a performer. Spielberg knew this was a chance of a lifetime, so he just went ahead and snapped a bunch of pictures of the "Hard" star right in front of her. Go on wit yo bad self, Steve.
It's nice to see celebrities from all walks of life (read: varying degrees of extreme wealth) come together for a good cause. Rihanna's all, "Lend my voice and midriff to charity? No problem." Just one of the bajillion things we love about that girl.

Переслать - Album Premiere: For The Foxes, 'The Revolution EP'
Prepare your ears to hear For the Foxes' debut EP.
The first time's the charm for For The Foxes. The Barnegat, New Jersey trio's self-titled debut EP is six tracks of totally iPod-worthy pop-rock, full of big hooks and guitars strummed faster than a speeding bullet. The band's range is super, too: Opening track "Sinking Like A Stone" starts as a sensitive piano ballad before launching into rock mode, while the raging chorus of "The Revolution" was made to scream along with on the Warped Tour.
Listen to For The Foxes The Revolution EP after the jump.
Singer Nick Dungo, who we last saw tearing it up in the video for the EP's title track, isn't afraid to share more serious feelings: He and the band show their softer sides on "The River," which tosses out the amps and rhythm section and finds Dungo telling the touching story of a long-distance relationship: "We don't say goodbye, so we'll just say good night," he sings over a solo piano. Bet you $1 he would watch "The Notebook" with us and bring the Kleenex. But the upbeat EP ends things on a less tearful note, with closing track "Easy Way" blasting off with ska-inspired horns.
"The Revolution" hits stores on April 24 on Hopeless Records, but we're giving you a head start: You can check out all the jams right here.

Переслать - Video Premiere: The Parlotones, 'Save Your Best Bits'
Watch the Parlotones' anthemic, prom-themed 'Save Your Best Bits' video.
The Parlotones play the kind of swoon-worthy, nice-guy Britpop that make us want to book the next flight to Glastonbury -- except they're from Johannesburg, where they opened for Coldplay last year. Let us know next time, guys!
The South African band's "Save Your Best Bits" video blends the group's white-tie performance with a Wes Anderson-esque retro prom night, full of goofy dancing, an adorable under-the-sea set and even some almost-hand-holding. Hey, they took it slow back in the day. Bonus points for our nerdy heroine's totally '80s hairstyle, which reminds us to track down our prom photos so we can, uh, hide them in the basement forever.
Watch The Parlotones' "Save Your Best Bits" video after the jump.
But in between the wallflower romance and polyester suits, the anthemic track has its eyes to the future: "Don't look back," Kahn Morbee sings in the triumphant chorus. "Save your best bits for tomorrow." YOLO, you guys. You can seize the day on May 8 when the band's fifth album, Journey Through The Shadows, drops. In the meantime, we'll be journeying through their discography on Spotify and mustering up our courage for the next big dance.

Переслать - Star Spotting: One Direction's Harry Styles Holding A Koala. We Repeat: Harry Styles And A Koala (!!!!)
One Direction's Harry Styles cuddles a koala, we die!
Not sure if you guys heard, but One Direction's Harry Styles and Taylor Swift are total BFFs. Before you start raging jealously and scheming a way to get in to their cool kids club, take a breath and admire another member of Harry's posse -- a koala! Everyone all together now: "Awwww!" It's official -- Harry has the cutest/best social life EVER!
The "What Makes You Beautiful" singer was was snapped cozying up to the little Australian critter, then posted the pic on Twitter along with a very accurate caption: "Koala!!" (You know, in case fans confused the adorbz animal as one of the other equally adorbz members in One Direction.) While we can think of a scroll-long list of awesome things celebrities get to do that we'll never accomplish (basically, Beyoncé's entire life), we're content just admiring Harry getting the awesome opportunity to chill with the wild animal. Doesn't the little guy seem so sweet and cuddly and like, have the softest-looking face in the world? Oh, and the koala looks pretty friendly, too.

Переслать - The Buzz On: Skye Stevens
Get to know Armenian dancer/singer/songwriter Skye Stevens.Take one look at Skye Stevens and you know this kid's a star and a triple threat. I say "kid" because Skye is only 18, and I say "triple threat" because this newcomer can sing, dance and write music. Born in Boston, Skye attended Orleans School of the Arts in Cape Cod. At 8, he started dancing competitively, at 10, Skye performed at the 76th Annual Macy's Day Parade on the official Macy's float, and at 17, he was part of the international touring company for the Broadway play "Miss Saigon." (See? Jealous.)
Watch Skye Stevens' "Takes All Night" video after the jump.
Slated to (hopefully) become the first-ever Armenian pop star, Skye is already demolishing the dance charts with his first music video and single, "Takes All Night." The song recently landed the third spot on Billboard's Breakouts Chart for Hot Dance Club Play, and although it's only been live for six weeks, the video has already earned 700,000 views. Baller status.
Skye's "Takes All Night" sounds like a mix between Usher and Chris Brown with a hint of a David Guetta club beat. In the video, Skye rides around town on a bike as he follows his leading lady. The beat pumps and Skye pauses for a quick dance break, but not before he makes it clear that he's taking his chick home with him immediately: "And baby if it takes all night/ Up in this club.../ This feeling I got/ Is telling me you could be the one/ So baby, if it takes all night/ I'm taking you home." The video ends with a another dope dance break, and even though we don't quite see this duo go home together, we have a hunch that any normal girl is not gonna pass up the chance to hook up with a cute dude who can sing, dance and will probably be famous in like, five minutes. That's a catch if I've ever seen one.

Переслать - New Video: The Shins, 'The Rifle's Spiral'
You already knew The Shins could change your life, but the band's new video is especially magical. Featuring immaculate, "Coraline"-sque stop-motion visuals, "The Rifle's Spiral" is more a short film than a music video. The story stars a bejeweled magician playing to an invisible crowd and, thanks to a well-placed top hat, "borrowing" a rabbit from a mean-looking sorcerer trio. It's when they track the thief down and recover the animal that the film gets wild. The video ends with a giant, fire-breathing bunny with ruby eyes -- exactly the kind of thing we wish we could just pull out of a hat, or at least have at our second-grade birthday party.
Watch The Shins' "The Rifle's Spirit" after the jump.
We wouldn't mind pulling out a song this good, either: "The Rifle's Spiral" is the lead track from the band's latest album, Port of Morrow, and sparkles with the melodic charm and twitchy chord changes we've come to expect from the indie icons. If you can't get enough, the band's sharing a live version of the track for free on Google Music as part of its brand-new "Live From The Lot" EP.
Some cool trivia before you dig in: The video's Grammy-nominated director Jamie Caliri has a long history of offbeat clips, including Marcy Playground's 1997 one-hit-wonder classic "Sex and Candy." No monster bunnies in that one, just a regular-size tarantula. We'll, uh, take our chances with the fire-breathing rabbit.

Переслать - Katy Perry Hops On The Carly Rae Jepsen Train, Releases 'Call Me Maybe' Lip Sync Video!
Watch Katy Perry cover Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe.'
Carly Rae Jepsen has a bevvy of famous fans, which essentially means that in addition to being able to go out and party with high rollers, VIPs like to post covers of her hit "Call Me Maybe" on YouTube -- and now lip-synching to Carly's jam has kind of become a thing. We've already seen (and watched 50,000 times on repeat) the vid of Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and a bunch of other famous Carly fans lip-synching to "Call Me Maybe," but now it's Katy Perry's turn to rock out.
Watch Katy Perry lip-synch to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" after the jump.
In between partying with Rihanna at Coachella, Katy found some time to record a video of her and her pals covering Carly's single. Filmed at a gigantic mansion with a stunning pool (obviously), a purple-haired Perry dances around poolside as she mouths Carly's famous lyrics. Her and her pals make the classic "Call me!" hand gestures before getting up close and personal with a giant blow-up monkey. Totes normal. We can even hear Katy singing a few verses! (And though she stumbles on a few of the lyrics, she recovers like a pro.) I guess you know you've hit the big time when both Katy Perry and Justin Bieber make it a life priority to dance around like crazy peeps and mouth the words to your song on camera. Congrats, Carly!
