- 'American Horror Story' Casts Chloe Sevigny
Prepare for an epic battle of ferocious girl power-ness when Chloe Sevigny faces off against "American Horror Story" alum Jessica Lange on the second season of FX's horror anthology series.
The actress is set to join the show playing "Shelly the Nymphomaniac," which EW.com describes as "one of the mortal enemies of Jessica Lange's character." So. Freaking. Awesome. The site also reports that the writers wrote the part especially for Chloe. Even. Better.
Presumably Shelly would be one of the characters living in the mental institution that Lange's character runs. While season one was all about all the morbid fun in the sun on the West Coast, season two will travel across the country to the East Coast. That should certainly add a new element to the total creepiness of the show.
According to show creator Ryan Murphy, that locale was teased by Sarah Paulson's medium character in the first season. "Something that Sarah Paulson's character, Billie Dean, says to Jessica and Taisa as she's sage-ing the house [during the 'Birth' episode] and talking about places where evil collects: We talk about institutions and prisons and things like that," Murphy explained. "That was the clue."
Sevigny is new to the series, as well as other newbies like Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine. It was rumored that French actress Lizzie Brochere may also play a nemesis to Lange on the anthology series. But, like Lange, many actors will return to the show to tackle brand new parts, including Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Paulson and Lily Rabe.

Переслать - Jack Black Sings Praises Of Charlie Kaufman's 'Frank Or Francis'
When we think of actors most likely to be in a musical, Jack Black, Steve Carell, Nicholas Cage, Kevin Kline and Elizabeth Banks don't initially come to mind, but a musical is exactly the project they've all signed on for.
Charlie Kaufman's new comedy "Frank or Francis" is a satire of Hollywood that follows a rivalry between director Frank (Carell) and online blogger Francis (Black) brought on by a series of bad reviews. Banks plays a celebrated actress involved in a love affair with Frank, Cage is "The Emcee," an actor famous for his movie ideas, and Kline plays a director with the world's highest grossing film in his repertoire.
When MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Black at CinemaCon 2012, the actor revealed the film is a musical with an "incredible script."
"[The script is] under lock and key. It is a musical," Black shared. "I will be singing. Everyone will be in fact. If you're in that movie you will be singing. There's no just regular talking it's all [singing]."
That's usually what a musical is, right? But it seems Black got a little carried away. "That might not be the case," he continued. "Don't quote me on that."Too late.
"Erase that part. I gotta go back and read the script again. Maybe there is some regular talking mixed in. In fact, there is," he finished.

Переслать - Val Kilmer Visits 'The Fourth Dimension' And Lives To Tell The Tale
Awesome secrets. Light and fluffy. Cotton candy. These are words you're going to be hearing a whole lot more should you tune into "The Fourth Dimension," the Tribeca Film Festival flick from VICE mastermind Eddy Moretti collecting short movies from directors Harmony Korine, Aleksei Fedorchenko, and Jan Kwiecinski.
The film is split into three segments, but if it's star power you're after, there's no where better to turn than "The Lotus Community Workshop," Korine's short starring Val Kilmer as — wait for it — Val Kilmer.
"The premise is so great," Kilmer told MTV News about his work in "Fourth Dimension," which mostly involves a fictional version of himself giving a rousing and thoroughly absurd speech to a down-and-out community. "I'm a motivational speaker, but I'm a complete idiot. I still laugh every time I say it!"
Describing "Lotus Community Workshop" as Korine's first flat-out comedy, Kilmer revealed that his character wasn't always written as a fictional version of himself. That was an idea that evolved later on, leaving Kilmer initially skeptical.
"[Harmony] said, 'Maybe we'll try it where we tell this hardcore, down and out audience that it's you coming,'" the "Top Gun" actor recalled. "I said, 'Okay, but are we going to change the script? I'm sort of nervous to say all of these idiotic things as me -- it could be taken the wrong way.'"
Ultimately, Kilmer embraced the idea that one of the points of the film is "to mess with assumptions," a notion that producer Moretti echoes wholeheartedly.
"We're exploring the concept of some world beyond this one, and not have it literally be heaven, which is what most people think of," Moretti told us about the premise behind "Fourth Dimension." "All the films end up finding that beyond is right around you, in the moments of your life. I didn't know that they would all reach that conclusion, but they did, and I think that's a really cool thing. Only one of the shorts, 'Chronoeye,' goes into science fiction, and that one comes back to the girl who is right beside him in his life. It sets up an idea that there's a metaphysical realm, but it actually shoots it down by saying it's all about the world around you, which is more precious than some dreamy notion of angels."
Speaking of celebrating the world around you, Kilmer found that he enjoyed the experience of playing fictional Val so much, that he's thinking about ways to repeat the experience in the future.
"I just loved this character and laughed all day long with Harmony. We'd been talking about doing more with the character, the concept of this motivational speaker who is just well intended but very off the rails," said Kilmer. "I'd like to [bring the character to] an amphitheater. I think Harmony's got enough in him as a director that we could get really big with it."

Переслать - Bond Graces 'Empire' Cover, 'Skyfall' Trailer Debuts At CinemaCon
Not many details have escaped from the set of the next Bond movie, "Skyfall," but the latest issue of Empire and the Sony panel at CinemaCon have shed some light on the upcoming 007 adventure.
The first teaser trailer for "Skyfall" is set to premiere next month in front of "Men in Black III," but CinemaCon attendees got a sneak peek at the first footage from the trailer. Entertainment Weekly posted a play-by-play, so minor spoilers ahead.
The trailer opens with Bond engaging in a game of word association with someone ComingSoon.net believes is Albert Finney's character.
"Country …" the examiner begins.
"… England," Bond replies flatly.
"Gun …" the man says.
"… Shot," Bond says.
"Agent …"
"… Provocateur," Bond says. (Hey, maybe he's just a fan of luxury lingerie.)
"Murder …"
"… Employment," Bond growls.
"Skyfall …"
Bond hesitates.
The examiner repeats it: "Skyfall …"
"… Done," Bond says finally, standing up and walking toward the glass while Dench and Fiennes look like they just swallowed their chewing gum.The rest of the trailer plays out with a montage of action sequences and Bond uttering the kind of dialogue you expect from him. "Some men are coming to kill us," he says. "We're going to kill them first."
Producers also revealed at CinemaCon that the next Bond movie is set for 2014, so we won't have to wait another four years like last time.
If the trailer description isn't enough to satisfy your need for British spy action, Empire's cover story from the set of "Skyfall" just hit newsstands. In it, director Sam Mendes recounts the story of how he joined the film, which amounted to Daniel Craig approaching him at a party and asking him.
Mendes wasn't sure at first, but then he remembered how "Casino Royale" made him feel. "I think, like lots of people, 'Casino Royale' woke me up again to the possibilities of Bond. It seemed for the first time to be a real person in a real situation."
You can check out the rest of the story in Empire's June issue.

Переслать - Russell Crowe's Voice Is 'Pinging Off The Rafters' In Today's Twitter-Wood
We're chomping at the bit waiting for the release of "Les Miserables." It's a story we enjoy and even though we know how it plays out, we're excited to see how the A-List ensemble cast brings their characters to life. In particular, Russell Crowe who plays Officer Javert. Crowe's recently taken to Twitter to write snippets about filming on set. Along with his voice "pinging off the rafters," he also wrote, "I know it's him, he knows I know...when I confront him tonight, I'll be all... 'Valjean...at last..we see each other plain.' #lesmis"
My voice is pinging off the rafters , cool, will probably sing the confrontation 50 times during the course of the day #lesmis
— Russell Crowe (@russellcrowe) April 26, 2012
Crowe is of course referring to the scene where Javert confronts Jean Valjean — a wanted thief who repents for his ways and becomes an honorable factory owner. We can't wait to see Crowe go toe to toe against Hugh Jackman's Valjean.

Переслать - Antonio Banderas Might Join 'Machete Kills' Cast
We didn't think it was possible, but "Machete Kills" might actually end up having an even more insane cast than "Machete" did. In addition to Danny Trejo reprising his role as the titular character, we've already learned that Mel Gibson has a part in the movie. And that's not the only person likely-director Robert Rodriguez has turned to.
When MTV News caught up with Antonio Banderas at CinemaCon earlier this week, we couldn't resist asking him if Rodriguez had talked to him about taking a role in the movie. The two have a long film history together, with Rodriguez directing Banderas in everything from "Desperado" to "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over." And it turns out that, yes, Rodriguez has pitched the idea of "a little cameo" to Banderas, and the "Puss in Boots" star is totally game for it.
"I would love to. If Robert called me for anything, I would do it," he said. "I've done six movies with him, he was at the beginning of my career, so he came to my house and explained to me a little cameo over here as he explains things like a little kid."
Little is known about the plot of "Machete Kills" beyond the fact that Machete is back and apparently killing people. In fact, we know more about the plot of the third "Machete" movie than we do about this one. No matter what information Banderas told us about his character, it would have been a spoiler, so we aren't too surprised that he teased his potential part in the vaguest terms possible.
"It's a new character," he elaborated, clarifying that he wouldn't be reprising his role as El Mariachi. "But I cannot talk about it because it's a very surprising character. If I do, I will completely jinx it, so I actually prefer [not to]. But it's very interesting. The whole thing is a progressive character during the whole entire movie, but my participation is only in one side of it."

Переслать - 'Prometheus' Featurette Introduces 'A Superior Species'
Yet another tantalizing piece of "Prometheus" video has landed on the Internet today, and though it still reveals nothing about the story, there are definitely a few Easter eggs in there if you look hard enough. "Prometheus" will be Ridley Scott's first foray into science fiction, the genre he helped define, since "Blade Runner," and to say that we at MTV News are excited about this movie would be a gross understatement.
To the casual viewer, the new promo really doesn't reveal anything. The video itself seems more like a set of interviews about the director, and not the film itself. And what does Ridley have to say about all of this? "It's all about everything. I'm one of those directors that comes from the all about everything school." Very enlightening.
But what the promo doesn't tell you, it shows you, teasing us with just a few more tidbits that were left on the cutting room floor in previous trailers. Here's what we found most interesting about the new promo.
» A creepy skull rock that gets overcome by an oncoming storm. Could this be a statue from an alien civilization, or is it literally a skull? It looks rather human...
» Fassbender's enlightening realization that the crew are dealing with "A superior species, no doubt."
» Behind the scenes shots of some sort of alien command center, with Fassbender taking the helm!
» Charlize Theron being jettisoned from a ship (the Prometheus?) via escape pod that is on a crash course with the massive alien craft.
» And last but not least: lasers!
Sadly, we have to wait until June 8th to find out what all of this adds up to. Did you notice something that we missed? Leave your own crazy theories in the comments below or on Twitter!
