- Star Spotting: The Kanye West/ Kim Kardashian Thing Is Still Happening, Guys
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian take a stroll in Soho, NYC.
We know you're still obsessing over the first name, middle name, last name and blood type of the dude Katy Perry hung out with at Coachella all weekend, but we also want you to obsess (along with us) about this whole Kanye West and Kim Kardashian dating situation that's still going strong -- did it actually go official? We're not rumor starters, but we're thinking it's something when you go out on an ice cream date and wear a man's initials on your ear. That's just us, though.
Kimye -- they even have THE PERFECT nickname -- were snapped taking a stroll together in the SoHo neighborhood of NYC. While we're pretty sure Kim's carrying the luckiest ice cream cone to ever exist, Kanye's also looking pretty proud of himself -- his smile alone screams "my life really is better, faster, stronger (and tastier) than yours." Are you guys wondering what we're wondering -- if he's met the rest of family yet? We've seen our fair share of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and they
scare us to deathseem like a handful.Photo credit: Splash News
Переслать - The Buzz On: John West
Get to know up-and-coming soul singer John West
Allow us to be clear: John West is extremely dope and it's time for everyone to get involved like, five minutes ago. A rapper, singer and songwriter, this triple threat was born in Baton Rouge and found his passion for music while taking classical guitar lessons. Once he completed high school, John decided to put music on the back burner to pursue his other passion: cartooning. (#MultipleTalentAlert) But,West's love for music eventually prevailed. After graduating college, he moved to Los Angeles to concentrate on music full time. A consummate hustler, while living in L.A. West performed on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and sold over 35,000 CDs on his own. Needless to say, the industry took note -- West signed a major label deal in 2010.
Read more about John West after the jump.
Though he's got tons of solo tracks, West favors blazing hot collaborations with hip-hop's elite. We immediately fell hard for West's Christian Rich-produced "Lovely" which features a slick verse courtesy of Pusha T. The collaborations don't stop there -- John's current tune "Already There" features a tight verse by rapper Big Sean. Set to a violin-laden track, "Already There" is a sultry R&B-meets-hip-hop slow jam that speaks to the importance of feeling good even when you're not rolling in the dough: "I ain't got a dollar/ But I'm feeling like a millionaire/ You know that we already there/ Ain't got the answers/ But I guess I never really cared." We don't wanna jinx it or whatever but judging by the way stuff is going, John's probably gonna be like, Lady Gaga famous starting around tomorrow. But feel free to enjoy singing about being broke while you can, John!
+ Listen to John West.

Clear your throat for an INTENSE scream of pure elation -- the gents of The Wanted are premiering their newest video, "Chasing The Sun" on MTV tomorrow, April 24! "Chasing The Sun" is the band's second single from their self-titled album, which you probably already have memorized verbatim. And it gets better, guys: The band is also sitting down with MTV after the premiere to answer YOUR questions in a 30-minute exclusive "MTV First: The Wanted" interview.
"Chasing The Sun" premieres Tuesday, April 24, at 7:53 p.m. ET on MTV, followed by "MTV First: The Wanted," a 30-minute interview where the band will be answering fan questions. To ask the Brits a question of your own (let's face it, it's the real reason any of us are even on Twitter), tweet at MTV News (@MTVNews) with the hashtags #AskTheWanted or #MTVFirst. Just don't ask for their hands in marriage -- it's kinda tacky when you don't ask that kind of thing in person.

Переслать - Motion City Soundtrack's Justin Pierre Talks Making Moves & Going Indie For Motion City's New Album, 'Go'
Motion City Soundtrack and Drexel U's MAD Dragon label helped five bands release singles via the Making Moves project.
For most bands, starting their own label would be ambitious enough. So leave it to Minneapolis quintet Motion City Soundtrack to make everyone look lazy and unmotivated (or am I just self-projecting here?) with the Making Moves project, a five-band singles series curated, produced and released by MCS together with Drexel University's MAD Dragon label. Along with input from music industry program students from the Philly university, the band hand-picked five up-and-coming acts: The Company We Keep (their "The Company She Keeps" single premiered on Buzzworthy back in February), Brick + Mortar, Goldrush, The Skies Revolt, and A Great Big Pile of Leaves, each of whom will release a limited 7" single digitally and on vinyl in the coming months, starting with The Company We Keep -- a band that includes MCS' own Justin Pierre -- whose single drops April 24. And if that's not enough, Motion City's new The Boombox Generation label, in conjunction with Epitaph Records -- will also release MCS's fifth album, Go, on June 12.
I called up Justin Pierre to talk about his five new label mates, Go's fresh sound, and what he's learned from the Dalai Lama.
BUZZWORTHY: What made you decide to take on this singles series? It seems like a pretty massive undertaking.
JUSTIN: We basically created a record label in name, and we've slowly been adding to that, trying to make it an actual record label that works. We had an idea to take something from the very beginning stages and see it through to the end, involving the students of the school, so that they get the experience, from engineering to A&R, and allows us to hopefully help some people that are doing great work to find a bigger audience.
BUZZWORTHY: How have Drexel students been part of the process?
JUSTIN: It's been really awesome. The engineers that we worked with were amazing, and I learned a lot from them and just the way that they do things. There were a lot of film students who were documenting the whole process. I went to film school before I was playing music, so I've always been fascinated by that world.
BUZZWORTHY: You also play in the Company We Keep. How hands-on have you guys been with the other bands?
JUSTIN: I think very hands-on. I can only speak for the three I was involved in. But for two of them, The Skies Revolt and Brick + Mortar, both bands had done everything on their own, and I don't think they'd worked with outside producers or outside people. It was a lot of getting them to trust to us. Not that they didn't, it's just that they'd booth been doing something for a while, and they were both good at it. We didn't want to come in and mess up their sound or anything. I think that a good producer stays out of the mix and allows the bands to just be the best version of themselves that they can be.
Read more of Buzzworthy's interview Making Moves interview with Justin Pierre after the jump.
BUZZWORTHY: You did an SXSW showcase with all the bands this past March. How did that go?
JUSTIN: That was the first time all of us were together in one place. For me, it was nerve-wracking because that was the only show I played with the Company We Keep and I had gone on a crash course of three days of preparation. I think I played pretty awful, but people said that it sounded fine. It was fun to play in a band where I didn't have to sing and I could just rock out.BUZZWORTHY: How did it feel to take on the role of mentor/producer role yourself after working with big names like Mark Hoppus.
JUSTIN: I don't know, it's weird because I don't ever think of myself as much of a mentor. I just get really excited about ideas. I'm pretty good at melodies and words, so that's my focus. I don't know if it shines through with Motion City, but I'm definitely a big fan of obnoxious, noisy sounds, so I feel like I fit better with bands that are into that stuff, whereas if I had to do some acoustic pretty music, I don't know if I would be the best producer for that.
BUZZWORTHY: Do you want to see more established artists follow your lead and give young bands a helping hand?
JUSTIN: My general philosophy in life is, try to do good. I'm a big fan of the Dalai Lama, and I'm a big fan of Gandhi, his teachings. I'm not necessarily a religious man, I don't know if I'm that spiritual, but I do believe if you can eradicate violence in all shapes and forms from any action, thought or being, you can by default do nothing but good. I try to take that into the context of music... it sounds goofy because I don't think of myself as a big band. But a decade ago, one of the biggest things ever was we got to open for Jimmy Eat World, and that was a huge thing for us. Or getting to tour with blink-182 over in Europe, that was beyond huge for us.
BUZZWORTHY: What can we expect from the new Motion City Soundtrack album, Go?
JUSTIN: Being in the band and being inside of it, it's harder to look at things from a totally objective point of view. But… I would say there's more of an indie rock sound to it when compared to our other work. We were no longer on Columbia Records, we had no label, we just wanted to make a record and take our time doing it. We did it in our hometown -- Josh and myself live in Minneapolis. We had a producer and friend, Ed Ackerson, who runs Flowers Studio, and we had done a couple of acoustic/alternative EPs with him where we would show up with a handful of instruments and no idea what we were going to do. And then within five days, we had five songs.
We wanted to take that experience and do that with a full-length record. Without going into gory details, we spent a sixth of the budget that we had on the last record and like twice the time in this studio in Minneapolis, and we just had a blast with no sort of people to answer to or anything. We just wrote songs. We did it all on our own dime. It's kind of thrilling and scary to know that you're responsible for everything, financially as well as artistically.

Переслать - The Wanted Are Adorbable (Obvs) On VH1's 'Big Morning Buzz Live' (VIDEO)
The Wanted make a visit to VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live" show!
The Wanted really stole our hearts (for the gazillionth time) with their adorbz appearance on VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live." We're starting to think the guys are gunning to win our vote for MTV's Battle Of The Boy Bands with their adorbz quotient -- and we ain't mad about it.
Watch The Wanted on VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live" after the jump.
The Wanted visited VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live" properly prepared to charm and chat everything from their recent "Punk'd" experience, their visit to the Playboy Mansion and a very unique interpretation of what their song "Glad You Came" is really about. We even get a quick peek at Siva Kaneswaran's, Max George's and Jay McGuiness' new tattoos! It's basically the best moment ever filmed on live television.
The guys also generously tweeted a short behind-the-scenes clip from their upcoming "Chasing The Sun" music video (dropping tomorrow)! While it's not a serious spoiler alert, we do catch glimpses of the guys dancing on rooftops and steamy make-out scenes with ladies. BTW, it's totally normal to dream of being in The Wanted's next music video -- just get in the back of the line.

Переслать - BTW, Here's A Shirtless Photo Of Joe Jonas At Coachella (PHOTO)
Joe Jonas goes shirtless at Coachella... We die.
I guess the one good thing about Coachella being a murderous 102 degrees is that celebs like Joe Jonas get so sweaty that they're forced to take off their shirts to cool down! YAY FOR US, because this means that normal, non-Coachella-going plebeians like us get to sit in our air-conditioned living rooms and gawk at their insanely ripped bodies. Guess life's not so dull after all.
Shirtless Joe Jonas was snapped this weekend at Coachella leaving David Guetta's set. In addition to sporting his stunning six pack (NOT. MAD. AT. IT.), Joe's also rocking his signature fedora (it's fairly signature, right?) and some Calvin Klein briefs peeking out from the top of his jean shorts (OMG OMG OMG OMG.) Joe's got some nice "I've been watching music in the desert" scruff happening in addition to perhaps his cutest accessory moment of the night: borderline-dorky yellow ear plugs! Because safety first. Also, honestly, we don't even care -- what is more precious than a famous pop star who is serious about the well-being of his inner ear? Additionally, Jessica Pott do you know how lucky you are? Just making sure.

Переслать - Kaskade Heads Out On 'Freaks Of Nature' Tour, Gives Us Full-Body Chills (VIDEO)
What is it about big euphoric synths and massive beat drops that makes all the hair on our bodies stand up on end? We don't know, but it literally happened just now as we were watching the promo video Kaskade has released for his upcoming summer tour. See, Kaskade (who was voted America's Best DJ in 2011, no big) knows that wherever he goes is where the party's at, which is why he's carving out some time this summer to traverse the United States and Canada giving us some of the most jaw-droppingly rad EDM chills ev-ah on his "Freaks Of Nature" tour. "California I have not forgotten you," the video explains. Good, Kaskade. Because California hasn't forgotten you, either. And neither have any of the other 49 states. Or 10 provinces. (Yes, we had to look up how many provinces there are. Don't judge us.)
In short, Kaskade will be filling up stadiums all around North America, which means that if you live in either of those cities and you want to stand in an auditorium full of glitter-dusted glowstick-clutching party animals getting your eardrums blown out, you should probably grab some tix. And yeah, this probably goes without saying, but we'll see you there.

Переслать - Katy Perry Looks SO HAPPY With Her Rumored New Boyfriend! (PHOTO)
Katy Perry hangs with rumored new boyfriend Robert Ackroyd.
For Katy Perry, both weekends of Coachella consisted primarily of wearing adorable floral ensembles, dancing with her BFF, Rihanna, and holding hands/flashing her megawatt smile while in the embrace of rumored new boyfriend, Florence + The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd. Essentially, Katy's living out a real life "Teenage Dream" (while we seethe with jealousy).
Though nothing has been confirmed, by the look of it, "The Katy And Robert Project" is in full swing. The "Part Of Me" singer was swept up in the arms of her reported new flame, after they (probably) gallivanted around Coachella making googly eyes at each other, inevitably making all the other couples feel
unattractiveinadequate. Also, because Coachella is, you know, held in the desert it was likely 95 degrees when this photo was snapped, yet neither Perry nor her man are sweating one bit. In fact, they both look completely matte! Finally, who can I pay to figure out where Katy got that outfit? I need to wear it tonight when I trot around town with my musician boyfriend. (Sadly, we all know that last part is just not true.)

Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).
Is there a more apt name for the band The Wanted? Audiences swoon in their wake. To borrow from the boy band's own repertoire, the "universe will never be the same" for their dedicated fans. The Brit group drops its first U.S. EP on Tuesday. They make appearances on "VH1's Big Morning Buzz," "The View" and "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" this week. Jack White is single again (well, hello there, Jack), and the emotional aftermath seems the jet fuel for the characters in his lyrics on the riveting Blunderbuss, which also comes out Tuesday. Catch him on "Colbert Report" on Thursday. Electric Guest's much anticipated Danger Mouse-produced debut album Mondo drops Tuesday, but be sure to peep their new "This Head I Hold" video as a prep course. Thursday night, Adam Lambert hits the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" stage. He's been previewing songs from his forthcoming Trespassing during recent outings, so he might treat the audience to a new tune. And don't forget about "America's Best Dance Crew," week 3. The theme this week? Madonna!
NEW ALBUM RELEASES
Tuesday, April 24
+ Jack White, Blunderbuss: Whether it's the visceral tearing away of body parts during opener "Missing Pieces," the lustful, jealous lover in "Sixteen Saltines," the bruises left on "Freedom at 21," or the piano-fueled cautionary tale of "Weep Themselves to Sleep," emotions are a palpable, blood-stained affair filtered through a bluesy, classic rock, garage and country-tipped lens on Jack White's debut solo effort. The tables are turned, it's the man scorned here and women are the culprit. And it ain't pretty; it's dirtied, gritty and awesome.
+ The Wanted, The Wanted, The EP: MTV POSTED artist for the month The Wanted release their debut U.S. EP. The seven-track set includes the hottttt single, "Glad You Came," which they performed live at MTV's Spring Break 2012. The song has already hit the Top 5 on Billboard's Hot 100. Look out for three additional bonus tracks on the Special Edition.
+ Electric Guest, Mondo: Our PUSH artist of the week release their debut album with a little help on the production side from DJ/producer wunderkind Danger Mouse. Standout tracks include the insanely catchy "This Head I Hold" and the super psychedelic "Troubleman."
Check out more new album releases and upcoming TV appearances and performances after the jump.
+ LP, Into The Wild: This CD/DVD set was recorded at EastWest Studios and serves as a solid introduction to Laura Pergolizzi, who has been making behind-the-scenes waves for a while as co-songwriter for folks like Rihanna -- "Cheers (Drink To That)." Check out her cover of Beyoncé's "Halo" from Into The Wild. She's currently working on her forthcoming full-length studio debut with producer Rob Cavallo.
+ For The Foxes, The Revolution EP: The New Jersey trio make their debut with this six-song EP. Listen to their hook-filled pop-rock effort ahead of its release. Also check out "The Revolution (Live)" video.
+ Theophilus London, Timez Are Weird These Nights, The Remixes: The album offers remixes of his entire debut album. The dance floor ready, 10-song set features remix treatments by Crookers, Brodinski, Fred Falke, Linus Loves, Silascopathic, Bloody Beetroots, Disco Pusher, Sahy Uhns, Jeffrey Jerusalem and Skream.
+ Eve 6, Speak In Code: The guys who brought us the summer driving, windows-down anthem "Inside Out" are back. They broke up in 2004, and in 2007 they tested a new lineup. Last year the three original members -- lead vocalist Max Collins, guitarist Jon Siebels, drummer Tony Fagenson -- reformed. Check out new song "Victoria."
+ Mickey Avalon, Loaded: It's the follow-up to his 2006 self-titled debut, and like the album title implies, the song titles on the 18-track disc allude to his wild background and upbringing ("Rock Bottom," "Drugs," "CA Crack Cocaine"). The other theme that pervades is misogyny, like on "Girlfriend" with Unwritten Law's Scott Russo, which basically asks a girl to hookup with him on weekends (but he doesn't want a girlfriend). If you're into these kinds of things, well then, this may be your kind of party album.
