Photo: Universal Music GroupNEW YORK — It's the Wanted day here at MTV News. And that means we are kicking off our full day of Big Apple festivities with the five guys as they celebrate the release of their debut U.S. EP, as well as the premiere of their new video for "Chasing the Sun."
The guys have allowed an MTV News crew to tag along with them for exclusive access into their lives as they continue to win the hearts of girls across America. In the lead-up to their day with MTV News, the guys had this message for their fans, "Please stay tuned to MTV all day today where we will be teasing you with the premiere of our new video, 'Chasing the Sun,' which will premiere live on MTV. And we'll be answering your questions during MTV First at 7:53 p.m. on MTV. Do you feel teased?"
First up, the guys will head to "Today" to chat up Matt Lauer and the crew about the release, which includes several new tracks such as "Chasing," as well as their hit, "Glad You Came." We were on hand with the fellas as they made their way to the famed morning news chat show, knocking yet another notch off their list of milestones and accomplishments.
From there, the five Brits will go all across Manhattan for various media appearances to help spread the gospel of the Wanted. With the day just starting, anything is possible, so stay tuned for all the inside scoop of what the guys are up to in-between and during their media blitz. MTV News will let you in on what it's like to be a fly on the wall.
Once the guys are finished with all of those appearances, they will sit down with Sway Calloway for "MTV First: The Wanted," airing tonight (April 24) at 7:53 p.m. ET on MTV, during which they will premiere the "Chasing" video.
Immediately following the MTV premiere, the fivesome will stay on for an additional 30-minute live Q&A session with Sway on MTV.com. Fans can get in on the action by submitting video or text questions via MTV.com or @MTVNews on Twitter, using the hashtags #MTVFirst or #AskTheWanted.
The guys are also one of the 32 hopefuls in MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands, which pits some of the greatest groups of all time against one another, until fans vote their favorite group to #1. The battle rages on at BBB.MTV.com, with the first round ending Thursday.
Fans can weigh in on the matches on Twitter using the hashtag #BBB. The winner of Battle of the Boy Bands will be announced Monday, May 7, live on "AMTV" on MTV.
Voting in round one of MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands is now open and runs until noon ET on Thursday, April 26. Переслать - Boyz II Men: The 'Battle Of The Boy Bands' Forefathers
Boyz up against longtime rivals Jodeci in round one; voting open now!
By John Mitchell, with reporting by Jocelyn Vena
Boyz II Men
Photo: Jeff Fusco/ Getty ImagesOur Battle of the Boy Bands got off to a roaring start Monday as fans of new groups like the Wanted and One Direction and legacy acts like 'NSYNC and New Kids on the Block hit our bracket hard to push their favorites on to the next round.
One group that is in it to win it is Boyz II Men, who told MTV News they were among the "progenitors" of the entire boy-band genre. "We were kind of like the progenitors, the torch holders of a lot of the artists, of a lot of the boy bands that came about," Nathan Morris told us.
Highest Chart Achievement
In the mid-'90s, Boyz II Men ruled the charts. That's not hyperbole, either — three of the top-10 longest-running #1 singles in the history of the Billboard chart belong to the band. Their top song, though, is actually a duet, and with 16 weeks spent atop the chart, it's also the biggest single ever: "One Sweet Day" with Mariah Carey.Boyz II Men are one of just four artists or groups to have held the #1 spot for at least 50 weeks cumulatively. On the all-time list, they fall at #4, behind only (ahem!) Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Carey. (With 47 weeks, Usher falls just short at #5.) Clearly, the band has quite a few chart achievements under its belt.
Standout Video
The Boyz made a series of great videos for their hits "End of the Road," "I'll Make Love to You" and "Water Runs Dry," but for its cameos alone, "On Bended Knee" rises above. In the clip, each band member breaks up with and eventually reconciles with a girlfriend, played by four famous actresses: Victoria Rowell, Renée Jones and, most importantly for nostalgia addicts, Kim Fields (Tootie from "The Facts of Life" and later "Living Single") and Lark Voorhies (that's Lisa Turtle from "Saved by the Bell" to you).Defining Tune
Regardless of your age, chances are you know every word to many of Boyz II Men's greatest hits, so it's hard to pick just one defining tune. But there really is something special about 1994's "I'll Make Love to You." Discounting their Carey collab "One Sweet Day," the song is the band's biggest standalone hit (14 weeks at #1). The Babyface-written song defines the phrase "power ballad" and won the group a 1995 Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.Debut Album
These guys got straight to the hitmaking with their 1991 debut, Cooleyhighharmony. Executive produced by Michael Bivins of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe, the album introduced the Boyz in grand fashion with the funky R&B jam "Motownphilly" and brought them another hit with "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday."Biggest Competition
That would most definitely be Jodeci, who in the '90s went head to head with the Boyz on the charts with their similar (if not as internationally successful and chart-topping) blending of R&B and soul. So, how does the band feel about the competition? Well, they seem to have a lot of respect for their former competitors. Regarding Jodeci, Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman told MTV News, "It was a mutual respect that we had for those guys and them for us."
After revealing that the two bands once had a bit of a beef, Stockman elaborated that it was really just "friendly competition." "I'm sure they had the same mentality as far as being onstage and trying to outdo us just like we were trying to outdo them," he shared. "They were great artists, and we didn't want to have people talking about [how] they did better than us, just like they probably felt the same way."
Voting in round one of MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands is now open and runs until noon ET on Thursday, April 26. Kiowa Gordon's leaked pics might seem standard for young Hollywood, but 'Twilight' Tuesday notes that the cast has largely avoided scandal.
By Kara Warner
Kiowa Gordon
Photo: Jason LaVeris/ Getty ImagesWith all the glitz and glamour associated with being a young celebrity in Hollywood, it's hard to imagine there are any cons to fame and fortune. It's safe to say that one of the more precarious aspects of being universally recognized is the fact that any time a celebrity does anything worth a tweet, photograph or snarky comment, they have the potential to generate many a headline.
The amount of news coverage a star commands depends, of course, on the level of public interest, for which the minute details in the lives of Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and the "Twilight" cast are of great importance.
A lot of the newer stars find out about their headline-generating factor the hard way, as has been the case with Kiowa Gordon and a batch of private photos that were posted to a pornographic website. Never mind the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the incident; by all appearances, Gordon is doing his best to resolve the matter and move on. The "nude photos discovered" headline is so prevalent in pop culture that it's almost expected.
Speaking of expectations, because there are so many ways in which a young celeb might be photographed doing something naughty — they're teenagers, for cryin' out loud! — I think we can all take a moment to appreciate the fact that on the whole, the entire "Twilight" cast has done an excellent job in upholding the ideals associated with their role-model statues. There have been a few leaked photos here and there but no evidence of any kind of truly inappropriate behavior that is often associated with young stars. It really is an amazing feat when you think about how many young actors we're talking about and how scrutinized they are. When I think about some of the dumb things I did in my teens, I thank my lucky stars that Facebook and Twitter were not around. I can't even begin to think about how difficult it would be to navigate as a young celebrity.
So as much as we love to obsess over our favorite stars, let's try to not sweat the small stuff and appreciate them for being worthy of our continued admiration.
Why do you think the "Twilight" cast has largely avoided the typical pitfalls of young fame? Let us know in the comments or tweet me @karawarner!
Переслать - 'The Voice': Adam Levine Sends Home Fan Favorite
Pip and James Massone are sent packing, while Cee Lo performs new Goodie Mob single.
By John MitchellThe quarterfinals continued Monday night (April 23) on "The Voice" with the eight members of Teams Cee Lo and Adam taking the stage to sing for America's vote, and two contestants were sent home by their judges' instant eliminations.
You know times have changed when Carson Daly — former host of MTV's teenage staple "TRL" — is the adult in the room, as he was at the start of the show when a little juvenile humor distracted the coaches. After Adam and Cee Lo had a tough time getting through their opening remarks about the seriousness of the competition without laughing, Carson got Cee Lo to confess that the panel was laughing because he was, well, a little gassy. "Well, this is live TV," Carson observed with what sounded like a little bit of disappointment in his voice. (Right?)
The night's first two performances set the bar high for the rest.
First up was favorite Jamar Roger, singing Bon Jovi's "It's My Life." While rehearsing the song, Jamar told Cee Lo his "Just a Thought" helped him through an especially hard time in his life, when he was getting clean from drugs and learned he was HIV-positive. The obvious bond between the two made Cee Lo's words of praise in the theater all the more moving.
"I want to pause for a moment and listen to the love," Cee Lo said to a teary-eyed Rogers of the audience's wild reaction. "That's your love."
Katrina Parker, who was saved earlier in the competition by her coach Adam, turned up the glam factor in a purple gown and loose waves for her powerful performance of "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri. (Can you even believe it was only two months ago that we were introduced to a shy insurance office worker?) She sounded great and won raves from each of the judges. Cee Lo agreed with Blake that this performance was like "hearing you for the very first time," adding, "You look exceptionally beautiful, your voice sounded equally flawless." Adam summed it up by calling Parker's performance "flawless."
Cee Lo kicked it old-school right from the beginning with Daly's black-and-white, '50s game show host-style intro for his team performance of "Dancing in the Streets." When the lights came up, Cee Lo and his teammates were inside a vintage TV set before busting out onto a stage lit up with vivid colored polka dots and stripes. Cee Lo even tossed on a wig for the occasion. The weird and cool energy (and colors, come to think of it) was reminiscent of Cee Lo's Muppet-heavy 2011 Grammy performance of "Forget You," and every time the camera cut to the other judges, they were eating it up.
Mathai's performance of "I'm Like a Bird" was more notable for Aguilera's dissing of Adam for not paying enough attention to all elements of his team's staging — none of the judges, even Adam, cared for an odd bit of choreography — and getting booed for elaborating a little too honestly on how much more she preferred Parker's performance.
Team Cee Lo's James Massone carried his clean-cut lady killer act a little too far into '60s boy-band territory, crooning Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" staged like a teenybopper movie with Massone singing below a girl's window. Blake and Xtina didn't love it, but Adam saw what Cee Lo was going for, something "like a young Sinatra, like an old-school heartthrob."
Thankfully, Cee Lo jumped back in to liven things up with his reunited Goodie Mob, performing their new single "Fight to Win." Just when you thought the performance would be low-key by Cee Lo standards — you know, just the band clad in gold armor and capes, with a set of light-up stairs, pillars and lots of fog — they zoomed in on Cee Lo and his bandmates' mouths, which lit up bright with some kind of mouthpiece.
After Tony Lucca's last performance, Christina commented that she thought he was coasting on his easy acoustic-rocker style and the bit of celebrity that comes with having co-starred with her on "The Mickey Mouse Club," and his desire to prove her wrong and "stare down" his "Mickey Mouse" past pushed him to remix Britney Spears' " ... Baby One More Time" as a rip-roaring rock song.
His electric take on Spears' bubblegum classic won all the judges over, including (finally!) Xtina, who called for an "MMC" reunion and cheered on how he made the song his own.
Saved previously by Cee Lo, Cheesa took a risk, performing the late Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing." Those are big vocal shoes to fill, and she delivered. "You still managed to do your own thing with it," Christina raved, before declaring, "This week, Team Cee Lo is where it's at." Sorry, Adam!
Next up, preppy Pip showed off his piano skills with his reliably capable, definitely theatrical (we agree with Adam) but unremarkable performance of "Somewhere Only We Know," and Juliette Simms' shredded growl was perfect for Aerosmith's "Cryin'," even if the wings she wore weren't our favorite accessories of the evening.
Adam jumped behind the drums for his team's performance of "Instant Karma," and unlike the other joint coach/team performances, Levine let his team lead this one. His four remaining contestants took turns with the lead vocal, while Pip played keyboard and Tony strummed his ever-present guitar.
But two had to go, leaving Cee Lo and Adam with a tough decision to make. Ever the diplomat, Cee Lo wrote a nice speech for his team, addressing how difficult this is for him and how much he supports each of them and read it off his phone. He decided to send James Massone packing, and the young Boston guy took it pretty well. (But it's pretty impossible to get mad at Cee Lo, right?) Adam was admittedly less elegant with his words and ultimately decided to send home Pip, who seemed at first a little surprised but bowed out gracefully.
What did you think of the eliminations? Let us know in the comments.

Photo: Todd Williamson/ Getty ImagesAlthough the tabloid media has been obsessing over Megan Fox for years — ever since she made her blockbuster debut in the 2007 moneymaker "Transformers" — they'll have a whole new reason to pay close attention to the star for the next few months: The 25-year-old is reportedly pregnant with her first child.
According to E! Online, Fox is expecting a bundle of joy with husband Brian Austin Green. The new addition to their family will be the second child for Green, who also has a 10-year-old son, Kassius, with ex Vanessa Marcil.
MTV News reached out to Fox's reps for comment but have yet to receive confirmation.
The news might not come as a surprise to the folks over at Star magazine, who initially broke the story about Fox's pregnancy in late March via a source close to the couple. "They just found out and are incredibly excited," a source told Star at the time. "Megan has become a great stepmom, and Brian knows she'll be wonderful with the baby."
The "Friends With Kids" star has also stated publicly that she is eager to become a mother. "I want at least two, probably three kids," the actress said in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine. "I've always been maternal."
Fox and Green met while filming the sitcom "Hope and Faith" back in 2004 and the pair were married in Hawaii in June 2010. The actress has said their relationship works because they are best friends. "I feel like I'm with my best friend," she told MTV News about Green. "I've been with him for so long, so it feels natural and comfortable."

The 20-year-old Pittsburgh MC is currently on tour for his Macadelic mixtape.
By Rob MarkmanMac is back, so you can expect a Most Dope "RapFix Live" when Mac Miller returns to the red couch on Wednesday.
It's been a hell of a ride for the 20-year-old spitter, and he doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. After landing the #1 album in the country last November with his debut LP Blue Slide Park, Mac has been moving at an accelerated pace. He concluded his 80-date, sold-out BSP tour in December and immediately hit the lab to cook up his Macadelic mixtape, which he dropped as a free Internet download in March.
"It's like the story of someone who is growing up, trying to figure out who he is and trying to figure out what he's supposed to do in the world and how he's gonna change it," Mac told Mixtape Daily of Macadelic. "I think it's a great piece because it's a great part of my career, it's a great time right now and I feel like I been making mixtapes for five years, so this one is very special to me."
The tape features contributions from Cam'ron, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne on the soul-bearing "The Question." "This song is a real meaningful song to me, man, and I wanted to make sure I got Wayne on something that was heartfelt," he said of "The Question." "I got him on a record that I was saying something and not just talkin' sh--, so this record right here really kinda deals with a question that I've been goin' through in my own head."
Mac is currently out on tour in support of Macadelic, but that didn't stop him from announcing his next run: the with Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Chevy Woods. "It means everything, Mac's my little homey. It's good for his fans; it's good for everybody who've been wanting to see us do what we do together," Wiz told MTV News of the joint summer tour last week while on the set for Maroon 5's "Payphones" video in L.A.

Kim's KW studs join a long line of creative romantic gestures in Hollywood.

Kim Kardashian sports "KW" earrings while in New York
Photo: Splash NewsWhen it comes to the various ways in which celebrity couples offer up public displays of affection, the ante was raised yet again when Kim Kardashian was spotted over the weekend wearing earrings with the initials of rumored boyfriend Kanye West.
But Kim is hardly the first star to wear her heart on her sleeve (or in her ear). Let's take a look back at five other unique celeb PDA:
Tattoos
No matter how well De Beers has ingrained their slogan "A diamond is forever" into our brains, nothing says "I love you forever (hopefully)" like getting a tattoo of your lover's initials, name and/or face. There are so many examples of celebrity couples who have expressed their love via this method that we could write a separate story. The couples who immediately come to mind are Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, who both got their first-ever ink in celebration of their marriage. Other examples: Tori Spelling's hubby Dean McDermott has his wife's face and décolletage on his arm, Marc Anthony had "Jennifer" on the inside of his wrist before their split, and David and Victoria Beckham.Blood Bonds
Before there was Brangelina, there was the eyebrow-raising romance and eventual marriage between Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton. In addition to getting relationship-inspired tattoos to celebrate their love, Jolie surprised everyone by adorning her neck with an amulet that reportedly contained a few drops of Thornton's blood.Music Videos
If you're a musician and in need of a love interest for your music video, why not invite your real-life love to make an appearance in said clip? In addition to several warm fuzzy stories that involve couples meeting on the sets of their music vids (Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley, Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova), there are plenty who have featured their boyfriends and girlfriends. Jennifer Lopez is the leading example, first with Ben Affleck's cameo in "Jenny From the Block" and most recently with new love Casper Smart in "Dance Again."Social Media
The advent of Twitter has brought the world a lot of things — over-sharing chief among them. We've become privy to the inner-workings of celebrity couples, thanks to their back-and-forth interaction on the social-networking site. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher basically kicked things off by frequently tweeting cute musings back and forth. They are survived by Khloé and Lamar Odom, Carey Hart and Pink, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, and Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey (again with the PDA!).Nail Art
Before their very public breakup last year, Katy Perry took the whole PDA-by-body-art trend to another level when she showed up on the white carpet at the 2010 VMAs with then-husband Russell Brand's face printed onto her fingernails. The gesture was in part due to the fact that Brand wasn't able to attend the awards show that year, along with a tribute factor celebrating the couple's initial introduction at the awards show in 2009.Where do Kim's Kanye earrings rank among celeb PDAs? Pittsburgh MC confirms to MTV News video was shot in his hometown.
By Rob Markman, with reporting by James LacsinaIf it ain't broke, don't fix it. After Wiz Khalifa and Stargate found success with the 2010 #1 hit single "Black and Yellow," why wouldn't they team up again for Khalifa's upcoming O.N.I.F.C. LP?
On Monday (April 23), Wiz dropped "Work Hard Play Hard," the first single from O.N.I.F.C. The new track isn't as bright as "Black and Yellow" or "Roll Up," the second Stargate-produced Rolling Papers hit, but it is still as effective.
"It's crazy. We shot the video in Pittsburgh," Wiz told MTV News last week on the set of Maroon 5's "Payphone" video. "It's wild, just linking back up with Stargate, making another hit and gearing up for the second album, O.N.I.F.C. We're about to do it all over again."
The bouncy track begins with a kinetic drum pattern that builds as the producers add a booming bass and dark synth melodies. "Diamonds all on my brain n---a/ Gold watches, gold chain n---a/ Yeah, my money insane n---a," Wiz spits, clearly enjoying the spoils of his success.
When he first arrived as a certified rap star in 2010, with his Taylor Gang fanbase in tow, Wiz sported an array of tattoos, tank tops, camouflaged shorts, Converse sneakers and rolled marijuana joints as his uniform. It is a style the Pittsburgh rapper feels many have adopted from him, and now he is ready to switch. He makes note of that on "Work Hard Play Hard" when he rhymes: "If I'm in the club, I get a 100 stacks/ I'm always rollin' up, so I get love for that/ Them n---as stole my swag, but I don't want it back."
While the song's verses are filled with rapper angst, Khalifa shows that he hasn't lost his penchant for delivering catchy and melodic hooks. "The bigger the bill, the harder you ball/ Well, I'm throwin' mine, 'cause my money long," he sings on a chorus that is sure to stick in the brains of his dedicated fans.
O.N.I.F.C. isn't scheduled to drop until August, but already, the TGOD captain is promising a fun ride. He has already secured guest spots from Chris Brown, Cam'ron, Pharrell and, of course, the members of his Taylor Gang crew.
About the album, Wiz said, "It's gonna be amazing. People should look for the complete package, so I don't wish to separate anything from anything. The single is amazing, 'Work Hard Play Hard.' It's gonna be stupid."

Juvenile on "RapFix Live"
Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV NewsBefore Lil Wayne became the solo rap superstar he is today, he was making his mark as a member of a noted hip-hop group: The Hot Boys consisted of Juvenile, B.G., Turk and a teenaged Tunechi, and together they broke down doors for independent Southern artists everywhere by establishing Cash Money Records as a musical powerhouse.
The quartet dropped their debut LP, Get It How U Live!!, in 1997, which they followed two years later with their platinum sophomore album, Guerilla Warfare, but the group was rendered defunct after Juvie, B.G. and Turk left Cash Money to take on new ventures. Fans have since longed for a reunion.
On Wednesday's "RapFix Live," Juvenile said of a reunion, "It's possible. As long as Juvie living, it's definitely possible."
Though he isn't signed to YMCMB, Juvie maintains a relationship with both Wayne and Birdman. "I got a relationship with Cash Money; me and Baby still cool. We don't talk every day, but we do talk, and we can stand in a room together. It's not a situation where I'm beefed out with them," he explained.
Add DJ Khaled to the list of folks awaiting a comeback for the group. Sitting next to Juvenile on the "RapFix Live" couch, Khaled said, "I'm a fan first when it comes down to the Hot Boys, and it's the whole Cash Money era, so Juvie already know and Bird already know, I would love to see that."
Unfortunately, there won't be a full Hot Boys reunion any time soon because both Turk and B.G. are currently imprisoned. In 2005, Turk was convicted of multiple firearm-possession charges after a 2004 shooting incident with a police officer. In December of last year, B.G. plead guilty to felony weapons-possession charges stemming from a 2009 arrest.
"B.G. got dealt a bad hand," Juvie said. "He'd had his run-ins with the law through the years, so I guess this one caught up with him."

But before the guys explain why you should vote for them, we have some facts about the fivesome that may help you decide if they're your ultimate boy band in the battle:
Highest Chart Achievement
The guys broke a record with their debut album, Up All Night, when they released it in the U.S. last month. Selling 176,000 copies, the band became the first British group to have their debut album enter the chart at #1.Defining Tune

Up All Night dropped internationally in November 2011, and just like its chart success here in the States, it sold big, debuting at #2 with 138,631 copies in the U.K., which was enough to give it the highest sales for a #2 album in the U.K. for 2011.Biggest Competition
Mostly the guys from the Wanted, who are the bad-boy answer to One Direction group of nice guys.So why do One Direction think they should win our Battle of the Boy Bands? "You should vote for us to be the ultimate boy band if you like us," Liam Payne said, with Louis Tomlinson adding, "If you like our music, then feel free to vote for us as the ultimate boy band. Real Spit: Sometimes differentiating between a mixtape and an album can be difficult, especially when a mixtape is crafted with such care, like Rick Ross' Rich Forever. The 19-song opus dropped at the top of the year as an appetizer for Rozay's upcoming God Forgives, I Don't LP. But almost four months later, it is clear that the Maybach Music Boss has created a tape that will transcend the shelf life of most free Internet downloads.
"As far as the title of the mixtape goes, it's Rich Forever. It's a lyric that I've used in the past, several times. Not only that, I really believe it," MTV's most recent Hottest MC in the Game crown holder told Mixtape Daily. "I feel for you to be rich forever, you have to be rich with ideas, rich with concepts, rich with thoughts; to me that's what being rich forever is."
Rozay didn't just rely on his own wealth, he recruited a flock of well-to-do friends like Diddy, Nas, John Legend, Birdman and Kelly Rowland to contribute. "Stay Schemin'," which features Drake and French Montana, has crossed over and made a dent on Billboard's R&B Chart, so far peaking at #49. While "Schemin' " may be the most identifiable song off of Rich Forever, the tape is filled with a number of standouts.
"Ring Ring" with Future is a playful ode to the ladies, and on "Holy Ghost," Diddy prays to God to keep his bank account intact while Rozay denounces the devil and other speed bumps on his road to riches. "Yella Diamonds" is another pledge to money, this time featuring Cash Money CEO Birdman. "My dough be shinin' like it's yella diamonds," Ross raps on the song's rambunctious hook.
The Bawse keeps things lively but does slow it down on the tape's title track. With R&B crooner John Legend in tow, Ross runs down his career in retrospect. "Def Jam on my heels, should I sign to it?/ Million-dollar advance for me to rhyme fluent/ Every day I'm hustlin' on every corner boomin'/ Back of the Phantom, I couldn't fathom/ I was such a student," he spits about the circumstances leading up to his 2006 debut album Port of Miami.
Ross has grown significantly in the six years since dropping his first LP, and Rich Forever more than proves it. No longer a hustler on the come-up, Rick Ross now runs the game with enough riches to last him a lifetime.
Joints to Check For
» "Rich Forever" - "We were just brainstorming on my quest, my career, and I just summarized it on a record."
» "Holy Ghost" - "This is one of my favorites. First record on the mixtape, it's called 'Holy Ghost.' Sometimes you gotta pray, even for your foes."

Young MC calls Tip a 'snitch' after he talked to Chicago morning show about her beef with Iggy Azalea.

Azealia Banks
Photo: Jim Dyson/ RedfernsT.I. has been involved in his fair share of rap beef. From Lil' Flip to Ludacris to Shawty Lo, Tip has held his own against some pretty serious dudes, but when it comes to the attacks from rookie female MC Azealia Banks, the Trouble Man wants no part of it.
Banks took exception when T.I.'s new artist Iggy Azalea landed the 2012 XXL Freshman cover earlier this year. The Harlem rapper had no problem lashing out at Iggy via Twitter, and when Tip defended his new protégé on DJ Drama's radio show in March, Banks fired shots at the King too.
"[Banks] wasn't the only one who felt funny about it. It was a trending topic people felt so funny about it," Iggy told MTV News earlier this month about her inclusion on the Freshman list.
Iggy wasn't chosen to be on XXL's coveted cover by the staff outright, instead she won a people's choice vote held on the magazine's website. The Australian-born rapper beat out 49 other rookie MCs to earn her spot along other notables like French Montana, MGK and Future. "Out of all those people, I had the most fans, it's not my fault. You should've voted for who you wanted because everybody else did and not to be rude, it was me."
T.I., however, hasn't been so diplomatic in his response. "The fact that she's speaking up on me and mine, I didn't even see it," he said about Banks when he appeared on the "Tony Sculfield and the Morning Riot" radio show in Chicago on Monday morning (April 23). "That's a bitch sh--, I'ma man. You ain't got no business addressing me. Get your man to address me, if you got a man, get him to address me and he and I can speak on it."
It doesn't seem like Banks, whose video for her single "212" is fast approaching 12 million views on YouTube, has taken heed. "@tip T.i .... Please shut the f--- up about this. Like seriously quit it," she tweeted hours after the Grand Hustle CEO's interview aired.
Banks continued with a full-on Twitter rant. "@tip funny how you have plenty of time to address me but have nothing to say to the dudes who been calling u at as a snitch forever," she wrote. "@tip it's dead... The streets already know what kind of dude you are. Stop making yourself look softer by dragging this out."
She then proceeded to delete all of T.I.'s songs from her iTunes. "LMFAOO every time I delete a t.i. song from my iPad I imagine him dying in some bloody horror film like being eaten by a zombie," she wrote.

Batman might be the hero we deserve, but is he still the one we want? We discuss in The Weekly Rising.
By Kevin P. Sullivan
Christine Bale in "The Dark Knight Rises"
Photo: Jared Wickerham/ Getty ImagesIf there wasn't enough of a reason for people to start talking "The Avengers" vs. "The Dark Knight Rises" before, today's news all but guaranteed the comparison. An exhibitor relations website confirmed that the second and final full trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises" will play before Marvel's universal class reunion starting May 4.
Will the "Dark Knight Rises" trailer outshine "The Avengers"? Which film will gross more at the box office? Can either touch the records set by "The Dark Knight"? These are questions that were always going to be asked because of how closely the two films will be released.
In fact, the conversation officially began last week when Fandango published the results of their latest poll, where readers voted for which summer movie interested them the most. Both male and female voters chose "The Avengers" over "The Dark Knight Rises" by large margins. Then, early track for "The Avengers" put its opening weekend box-office figures north of the holy $150 million mark, potentially placing it in the realm of "The Hunger Games," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" and, perhaps most importantly, 2008's "The Dark Knight."
With "The Avengers" tracking so well and the virtually no movement from the "Dark Knight Rises" camp in the last few months, many have begun to call the game in favor of Marvel and Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Devin Faraci over at Badass Digest wrote a fascinating editorial in the wake of the poll results suggesting that perhaps the bright colors, lighter attitude and we-shall-overcome spirit of Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk are more appealing to a country that as seen too much of the gritty reality Christopher Nolan's Batman has to offer.
And Faraci certainly makes a good point. Two movies in, Nolan's Batman series has a tone and aesthetic consistent enough to leave little doubt about what "The Dark Knight Rises" will look like. The trailers have confirmed as much. The subject matter this time around, however, shifts from the chaotic randomness of post-9/11 America in "The Dark Knight" to an apparently 99 percent-inspired storyline. A lot of the power of this Batman trilogy has always been its ability to feel current and meaningful, while actually being about a billionaire dressing up in a cape.
But is that what the people want anymore? Part of the problem with that question is that it places too much box-office significance on literary terms like theme and allegory, not that they should be ignored. In theory, each film will provide a basic requirement of timely cinema. "The Dark Knight Rises" may deal more directly with the economic stresses of today, but will ultimately end with a hopeful message. "The Avengers" takes a different approach, fulfilling escapist desires and placing the hope further into the foreground. The overall more optimistic views of "The Avengers" makes it more accessible to a wider audience and therefore more of their money, but let's not forget that Marvel's film offers a concept that feels newer than "The Dark Knight Rises."
The power of "the new" may be what ultimately helps "The Avengers" top "The Dark Knight Rises." We've seen Nolan hold up a Batman-colored lens to society, while Christian Bale growls and we love it. We've never seen a lot of superheroes from different movies fight together on screen. "The Avengers" formula makes it feel much less like a sequel and more like — excuse the phrase — a motion picture event.
When it really comes down to it, does it matter which movie sells more tickets? Both "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Avengers" are going to make a crap load of money; that's never been a question. But with Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" taking a page out of Nolan's gritty book, could any shortcomings on the part of "The Dark Knight Rises" prematurely doom Superman?
With no answers for now, let's just feel lucky that two enormous and ambitious superhero flicks are hitting theaters in the same summer with two exciting filmmakers at the helm.

'We did not like how he treated her,' Hudson says of alleged killer William Balfour.
By Gil Kaufman
Jennifer Hudson in court on Monday
Photo: Splash NewsWhat was expected to be one of the most dramatic moments in the trial of the man accused of killing Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew occurred in the first hours when Hudson took the stand and tearfully recounted her family's disapproval of William Balfour.
According to the Chicago Tribune Hudson choked back tears on Monday (April 23) morning as she told jurors that no one in her family wanted Balfour to marry her sister. "We didn't like the way he treated her, and I didn't like the way he treated my nephew," she said of Balfour, who has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the October 24, 2008 slayings of Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson; brother Jason Hudson; and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.
Dressed in all black with her hair pulled back into a ponytail, Hudson spoke at a whisper at times and was asked by the judge to speak louder when she became inaudible.
Hudson didn't offer much insight into the murders themselves, but the Tribune reported that her emotional testimony painted a "heartbreaking picture of a close-knit family torn apart by a violent crime." The singer had to stop to compose herself at times on the stand as she spoke about her beloved mother and nephew. She said she spoke to or texted Donerson every day and when she received a call from her distraught sister about the murders she flew back immediately to Chicago to identify the bodies of her mother and brother at the morgue.
"We were trying everything, anything we could do to get him back," she said of the $100,000 reward offered for the safe return of King. "It was always me and my Tugga Bear," she said, using the family's pet name for King as she fought to retain her composure. The child was found two days after the murders in an abandoned vehicle that prosecutors claim Balfour stole from the scene of the crime.
Hudson is expected to attend every day of the trial and was accompanied on the first day by her fiancé, professional wrestler David Otunga. She testified for 30 minutes and then joined Otunga in the fourth row of the courtroom.
In opening statements , prosecutors said that Balfour, 30, undertook the murders because he could not stand the idea of his estranged wife, Julia Hudson, dating other men. "What could have led to these horrible events that took place? Resentment, anger, jealousy," said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Veryl Gambino said. "He doesn't want Julia to have anyone but him."
Details emerged earlier this year about the incidents leading up to the murders , including allegations that Balfour had previously threatened Julia because he thought she was having an affair with a co-worker.

Christian rocker says fans may have been 'turned off' when he decided to perform Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance.'

Colton Dixon on "American Idol"
Photo: FoxAmerican Idol had fans scratching their heads two weeks in a row after another shocking elimination. Potential favorite Colton Dixon, the Christian rocker from Tennessee, found himself in unfamiliar territory on last week's episode, landing in the bottom three for the first time. Fans were convinced that he would return to the couch, but after 53 million votes, Dixon was sent packing.
What's the reason for his early exit? Well, according to Dixon, it was his song choice. The 20-year-old took the stage to perform two songs that night, the first being Lady Gaga's smash single, "Bad Romance."
"I'm like, 'I can metal the snot out of this song,' " Dixon told MTV News on Monday (April 23) about his thought process in choosing the song. "I just started getting giddy thinking about it. I saw the smoke and I was like, 'I'm in!' and I ran with it."
But now, Colton feels that the message of the song may have offended his fanbase.
"I had fun with the song, that was who I was and I had a blast with it," Dixon said. "And you know, it's not necessarily a bad message, we all want something that's not good for us, but that's how I took the song and I had to edit around some of Gaga's choice words to have it fit me a little better. But still, I think my audience heard Gaga and just went 'Oh, weird' and kinda turned off a little bit, which I understand. I take such a strong stance in my faith, I do understand."
Yet, Dixon has no hard feelings against the song, or Lady Gaga, whom he happens to be a big fan of. "I love her, I do. She's a great artist and she can sing her tail off and that's what I love," Dixon revealed. "She does whatever she can and whatever she has to do to stay on top of the music industry and she does a great job of it."

'Hunger Games' star may land a lead role in the film adaptation of Jeannette Walls' best-selling memoir.
By Fallon Prinzivalli

Photo: Getty ImagesWith the success of "The Hunger Games," it's no surprise Jennifer Lawrence is a sought-after leading lady. With three films hitting theaters this fall — including "House at the End of the Street" and "The Silver Linings Playbook" — she has a busy schedule, but it looks like Lawrence might add another project to her repertoire.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Lionsgate's production president, Erik Feig, has acquired the rights to gossip columnist Jeanette Walls' best-seller "The Glass Castle: A Memoir." Gil Netter ("The Blind Side") is set to produce and Marti Noxon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "I Am Number Four") is attached to pen the script.
Walls' book follows her nomadic childhood as she grew up moving around the Southwest desert with her parents and three siblings. When he was sober, her father Rex nurtured his children's imagination and taught them to embrace life. Her mother Rose Mary was an artist who would rather paint and write than be responsible for her family. When their money was finally gone, they returned to West Virginia where her father drank and stole and Walls and her siblings were forced to support each other. While her tale seems grim, she paints her parents in a loving light because, despite her family's flaws, they played a huge role in her success. Upon its release in 2005, the book spent more than 250 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers list, which was a first for any memoir.
The story is a departure from the male-centered movies Lionsgate usually releases. They're known for films such as "Warrior," "The Lincoln Lawyer," "Abduction" and "Conan the Barbarian." But perhaps with the overwhelming success of "Hunger Games" and its strong heroine, the company will focus on more female-lead narratives.

According to the network's official announcement obtained by Deadline, the story will revolve around the torrid and headline-grabbing romance between the blue-eyed beauty and Hollywood leading man Richard Burton. The two megastars were the original Brangelina, and their tempestuous relationship was the most infamous celebrity love affair of its day.
"I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor," Lohan said in the statement. "She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role."
This isn't the first time Lohan has portrayed a legend. She's done a few Hollywood pinup-inspired photos, including her Marilyn Monroe-esque photo shoot for Playboy, which garnered record sales when she graced the cover.
"We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor," Rob Sharenow, executive vice president of programming for Lifetime Networks, said in a statement. Photo: PacificCoastNews.comIt was more than just the music that Katy Perry took in over the weekend at Coachella in California. The single pop star was seen also taking in the affections of what appeared to be a new boyfriend.
The singer was spotted holding hands, kissing and generally canoodling with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd. This was the second weekend in a row that Perry was at Coachella. She debuted her new hair color at last week's festivities, and this week, it looked like she was debuting her new love.

The couple were photographed Sunday. Perry was in a lavender romper to match her brand-new purple locks, while Ackroyd sported a plain, white T-shirt and jeans. When Perry tweeted about this past weekend's festivities, she made no mention of her new beau, instead writing about Radiohead and her dream to make a Sublime hologram happen, à la the much-talked-about Tupac Shakur hologram.
Perry split from husband Russell Brand back in December after two years of marriage. She's remained relatively low-key in the love department since the split. She had been momentarily linked to football star Tim Tebow, but she laughed off the rumors at the Super Bowl, when she dedicated her track "Peacock" to the quarterback.
While Katy seemed to be all smiles while chilling at Coachella with Ackroyd, sources told Us Weekly that the singer is still dealing with her split from Brand. "Katy's been trying to get [Russell] back!" a friend said. "She's a lost soul right now." Another friend added, "Right now, Katy and Russell are trying to get to the point where they can at least be friends."

The singer was spotted over the weekend in Los Angeles shooting more scenes from the highly anticipated clip. In one picture, Bieber is seen kissing a dark-haired lady's hand. In addition to getting cozy with the pretty lady, Bieber jumps into a convertible on a set with a few muscle cars.
If fans are worried about what girlfriend Selena Gomez might think of Bieber being affectionate with his onscreen co-star, they shouldn't worry. Gomez reportedly stopped by the set to visit her BF, according to Gossipcop.com, and the pair shared in a few offscreen kisses.
Justin has been hard at work on his "Boyfriend" video for a while now. And he made it clear to MTV News that despite the song's lyrics, he won't be donning any costumes in the Colin Tilley-directed video. "I won't be dressed up as Buzz Lightyear," he said. "I think there's some copyright issues; I can't use that."
The new stills give fans another glimpse of what to expect from the video, which have up until now mostly been teases of the singer in shadow or with only a black backdrop behind him as women put their hands all over him. "The concept of this video, I mean, it's not like a steady concept," he said back in March. "It's not like 'Justin follows this girl to this spot.' No, it's a bunch of amazing scenes: like a fire scene, we have an ice scene.
"It's kind of like bouncing back and forth," he said. "And then there's scenes of me and just a bunch of girl dancers, and just some great shots, great artistic shots, great shots of me smiling. It's fun."
"Boyfriend" is the lead single off Bieber's June 19 release, Believe.
