- Star Spotting: One Direction Has THE Best Day At Niagara Falls!
Niall Horan gives a thumbs up during his visit at Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls gets tons of attention for being one of the most awe-inspiring sites on the planet, but put the world famous One Direction at the scene and... Niagara Falls who? The adorbz Brits scored a day off and decided to tear up the majestic site all while rocking blue plastic rain ponchos. It's basically like wearing a garbage bag, yet Niall Horan's thumbs up paired with his flawless hair make it look like dude's wearing a three-piece suit on the cover of GQ...kinda.
Check out more pics of One Direction at Niagara Falls after the jump!
The "What Makes You Beautiful" singers spent some of their time in Canada posing for pics at the Falls then were safely escorted by the police to their next reaaally important activity of the day -- laser tag! Let's just reiterate how good these bros have it: On our days off we do laundry and clean our cat's litter box. When One Direction snags a day off, they goof off with throngs of adoring fans, hold koalas, visit natural world wonders and play laser tag. Just wanted to make sure we we're all on the same page.

Переслать - New Song: Childish Gambino featuring Beck, 'Silk Pillow'
Childish Gambino and Beck are getting weird together.
Childish Gambino's had some big collaborators before, but the rapper-actor-superhero's latest team-up is on some "Avengers" ish. On the new banger "Silk Pillow," Childish Gambino -- A.K.A. "Community" star Donald Glover, duh -- roped in Beck (Beck!) to drop some rhymes, the first rapping we've heard from the alt-rocker since 2006's The Information.
Listen to Childish Gambino's Beck-assisted "Silk Pillow" after the jump.
Dude's as great and wacky as ever: "Standing in your office/ Trying to speak to some anacondas/ Eking solace from the sawdust while your doppelgänger stands topless," he rhymes in verses that had us reaching for our Odelay CD for more vintage surrealist wordplay. Gambino comes correct as well: "Don't mess your head up/ Still run with these young bucks/S till running on jet fuel/ Still pimping on what-what," he drops before delivering a line about "b*****s drinking Kombucha." Yo, don't mess with our probiotics, Glover -- we bet even rapper-comedians get tummy-aches sometimes.
Beck and Glover co-produced the oddball beat, which offers solemn piano chords and ghostly vocals ooh-ing along behind the rhymes before closing with a fuzzy synth breakdown. At just four minutes, this collab definitely needs a sequel or 10. Will Beck smang it out with Gambino's "F*** Your Blog" pals Young Humma and Flynt Flossy in "Silk Pillow 2"? Will Glover rap on the next Stephen Malkmus album? Fingers and doppelgänger fingers crossed.

Переслать - Flo Rida Remixes Rihanna's 'Where Have You Been' And It Works!
Flo Rida puts his own spin on Rihanna's 'Where Have You Been.'
Admittedly, we were kind of worried when we heard Flo Rida decided to remix Rihanna's dance anthem "Where Have You Been." Muscle-y rapper meets an always-naked popstar? We weren't sure. But we're actually pretty into Flo's take on Rihanna's tune, and may even consider adding it to our gym mix. (Around these parts, that's basically like awarding the song our own personal Grammy.)
Listen to Flo Rida's remix of Rihanna's "Where Have You Been" after the jump.
In Flo's "Where Have You Been" remix, he trades lines with Rihanna while adding a dose of testosterone to the original version. Read: who knew Flo's singing voice had such a bad-ass, manly quality? Ri and Flo come together for some quality duet time on the chorus, and Flo Rida ad libs the whole way though: "All around the world/ Put your body on me, girl.../ Shorty make it move to the right, to the left, up, down." So, did we really need another Rihanna remix? Absolutely not. But is this remix dope? Absolutely yes.

Переслать - The Hood Internet Put Notorious B.I.G, Ma$e, Diddy + Penguin Prison On One Track, You Should Listen To It
We've been known to tell you guys you should be listening to Chicago DJ duo Hood Internet's amazing/wonderful/super-repeatable mash-ups, but this new one might take the cake. Having grown up on Notorious B.I.G., any "Mo Money, Mo Problems" remix is something I'll probably stand behind. But this one, mashed up with dance-funk-pop singer Penguin Prison's infectious "Don't F*** With My Money" has now cemented its place as my official Summer Jam of 2012. Let's talk about it.
The already poppy "Mo Money, Mo Problems" gets a twinkly upgrade in Hood Internet's "F*** With Mo' Money." Ma$e, Diddy and Biggie lay it down as Penguin Prison's instrumentals up the synth and whimsy ante -- whimsy, I said! The mash-up is genius not only because both of the songs are about that dolla dolla but because it's the first time we've heard Ma$e in like, a milli years. And the fact remains: Dude dropped out of the game way to early -- I guess he finally saw his name on that blimp.

Переслать - Why Azealia Banks Is The Femcee To Watch
Hey readers! I'm music writer Sam Lansky, and this is Pop Think, where we dive deep into the murky waters of the pop ocean in search of musical pearls. See how embarrassingly clumsy that metaphor was? Well, it's a great contrast to the brilliant and agile wordplay of the rapstress Azealia Banks, who blew up late last year with her viral smash "212" and is now poised to continue riding the wave of success with her new EP, 1991. (It's the year she was born, y'all!)
See, in a chart landscape hyper-saturated with homogenous pop, Azealia Banks is doing something different: Both with the nasty '90s vibe of her beats and lyrics that are so quick and smart they make your head spin, including a level of social commentary that's incisive and timely. While the femcee game continues to get increasingly crowded, and vicious, Azealia stands out -- and this week, I'm digging into why she's truly the rapstress to watch.
Azealia Banks' EP 1991 is a big deal, you guys. Here's why.
In the outro for Azealia Banks' new song "Van Vogue," the Harlem-based rapper talks for two minutes in a low, pitch-modified growl. "Yo, yo, yo. These bottom-ass b****es with these raggedy-ass shoes. I see you, b****. With your Pell Grant refund, I see you coming out of NYU. Spitting that refund check, getting fly rainbows and s***. Trying to come out of Forever 21 stunting on me. Don't want to see none of your Whole Foods." It's a superbly weird moment, but one that nicely encapsulates so much of what makes Azealia Banks so interesting: The pop culture references littered throughout her lyrics are relevant to the "Girls" demographic. She's contempt for assimilation in girlish pigtails and a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt, and the whole EP is rich with that tension.
Read more about Azealia Banks and her 1991 EP after the jump.
Of course, that wouldn't mean much if the music itself wasn't as well-crafted as anything else in the game, and fortunately, it is. The beats are pounding or skittering, evoking the house jams of the early '90s (before Azealia had even been born yet, which makes me feel really old); it's a definite throwback, but one that somehow manages to sound more modern than her contemporary counterparts, like you just know that it's going to age better than the explosive hip-pop that's currently dominating soundwaves. That's not to say that the modern femcees don't still have game, because of course, they do: Nicki Minaj's evolution from a zany chick from Queens to the rap-pop superstar that she's become is evidence of her grind and expert understanding of the artistic landscape, and the original chicks like Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim, when they eke out a release, still impress.
But listening to Azealia's rhymes, with an unmatched verbal dexterity and cleverness that requires a serious examination of Rap Genius to figure out exactly what she's saying, I can't help but feel excited. Rarely, if ever, has the wild vulgarity of femcees past been matched with the level of consciousness about identity politics and race relations that Azealia drops with seeming casualness. It's radically, and aggressively, of-the-moment. And Azealia knows it, too. It's become an expected trope in hip-hop to posture about the artist's supremacy over her competition, a level of me-vs.-you swagger that listeners know to look for. But as the new kid on the block, Azealia already has a level of certitude about how she's the one on top. In "Van Vogue," she spits, "In that you been did that, you been with that, you been-been that b****/But they all forget you when I spin this s***." And she's right. 1991 is one of the most exciting releases in a long time, and it marks Azealia's arrival as the one to watch in the rap game.

Переслать - Jessica Biel's Ready To Marry Justin Timberlake? That's Funny Because SO AM I!
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are getting married. DON'T MESS IT UP, sister.
Dear Jessica Biel,
So! Apparently you're ready to marry Justin Timberlake! That's funny. BECAUSE I AM, TOO!
So, you told French magazine Gala that "I don't think our marriage will change anything. [But] it will be a challenge finding a balance between my private life, family and work, and I'm ready."
Actually Jessica? Marrying Justin will change EVERYTHING. Who needs homemade zucchini fritters (though they DO sound tempting) when you'll be surviving on JUSTINANCE alone? Girl, he's going to be bringing Sexy Back, Southern Hospitality and intentional wardrobe malfunctions to your RESIDENCE on a daily for the rest of your lives! So rock that Team TimBIELake ring proudly, 'k?
Wait, I was just going to tell you something... What was it? Sorry. I got distracted by the thought of what I'd do if Justin wrote me a symphony just to say how much I mean to him. (The answer is not NSFW.) Oh wait. I remember: I'M THE ONLY WOMAN FOR JUSTIN. As far as I'm concerned, he wrote "My Love" about me. Do I need to get Grandma Bomar to back me up?
But seriously, I wish you the best of luck. Kind of. Shutever.
KISSES!

Переслать - POSTED: Watch Karmin Rehearse Live Versions Of 'Brokenhearted' And 'Hello'
As we bid adieu to May, we must also say farewell to Karmin as MTV's POSTED artist for the month. (Sadz.) While we'll miss everything about the adorbz "I Told You So" singers (like their thoughts on hip-hop, reflections on past relationships, and their incredible hair), we celebrate their send-off the best way we know how -- with two videos of live versions/rehearsals of their recent hits "Brokenhearted" and "Hello."
Watch Karmin rehearse live versions of "Brokenhearted"and "Hello" after the jump!
The first video catches Karmin doing a run-through of their smash "Brokenhearted." The behind-the-scenes clip catches Amy and the band rocking out on stage sans frills. Amy sneaks in some killer dance moves, but really, it's just all about the live music (and Amy's incredible abs). The next video catches the band dropping a raw version of their hit "Hello" while performing in NYC. The pair's acoustics sound flawless, but we're more digging Nick's use of a wood crate as a bongo. If these two rehearsals are anything like what we can expect from Karmin's live concerts, you can plan on us catching their local show while they're on tour this summer.

Переслать - New Video: Wiz Khalifa, 'The Grinder'
Wiz Khalifa loves his lavish life in his 'The Grinder' video.
Just last week, Wiz Khalifa urged his fans to "Work Hard, Play Hard" and now, he's rapping about how fun it is just to play! In "The Grinder," Wiz and his BFF Juicy J roam around Hollywood, never failing to remind us just how loaded they really are.
Watch Wiz Khalifa's "The Grinder" video after the jump.
As Wiz and Juicy J walk around, they reminisce about tougher times. But now, as he drives down Sunset Boulevard, Wiz revels in the immense degree of his baller-ness and admits he could probably purchase L.A. if he really wanted to: "Yeah, I came up from the gutter/ To a condo out in Hollywood/ Where the weather's good and the parties always popping up.../ Now look at my wife, she got a pornographic figure/ And my autograph is bigger to your nieces and your nephews." In between scenes of Wiz's hangout in Hollywood, we are also treated to a somewhat random clip of a chef preparing a meal. Though we're not exactly sure what the cooking scene means, the video ends with a visual of the finished dish that will probably be hand delivered to Wiz on a 24K gold plate. 'K, we get it! You're balling the eff out. Now share some of that spaghetti with us because it looks delicious.

Переслать - T. Mills Talks Toilet-Induced Creativity With Incubus, Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky + More At Bamboozle (VIDEO)
Listen up, aspiring musicians: The only thing separating you from continuing to play your open mic nights and booking a gig at Bamboozle is letting your creative juices flow...in the bathroom. (Totally could have worded that better -- leaving it.) Our boy T. Mills asked some of our friends who stopped by between their sets at Bamboozle about the strangest places they've ever written a song, and it turns out the WC is the place to be.
It's just another testament to how good T. Mills was as our correspondent, because instead of getting punched in the face after asking various artists about songwriting in the bathroom, most of them actually had no problem sharing their toilet secrets. Incubus admits the bathroom is an awkward place to write a song, while Action Bronson disagrees: "You usually get your best ideas while you're pooping." Mac Miller says he "writes songs while taking s**** all the time," and A$AP Rocky actually wrote his track "Demons" on the toilet. The lyrics "I live day by day/Fighting demons" take on a whole new meaning now.

Переслать - Watch We Are The In Crowd's 'Buzzworthy Live' Performance Of 'Kiss Me Again' (VIDEO)
Taylor Jardine and Jordan Eckes of We Are The In Crowd deliver an acoustic rendition of 'Kiss Me Again.'
Remember when we fell in love with We Are The In Crowd's jam "Kiss Me Again"? Well get ready to become ten trillion times more obsessed, because we've got an exclusive, stripped-down acoustic version of the song that you're going to add to your makeout playlist pronto.
Backed only by their voices and a lone guitar, Taylor Jardine and Jordan Eckes of We Are The In Crowd delivered a sweet, acoustic rendition of the Best Intentions track, revealing a new side of the originally poppy jam. Filmed in MTV's studio in New York, with twinkling lights above them, the duo is heartfelt and passionate as they harmonize about love and the fears that come with smooching your best friend: "Kiss me again underneath the moonlight/You're more than a friend, I knew it from the first sight." Doesn't that make you wanna call your BFF and tell them you wanna lock faces? (I've totally tried it and it was a complete disaster. Proceed with caution.)
