Переслать - Kristen Stewart Wants 'Freaky' Co-Stars For 'Cali'
KStew wants to 'get together really weird, freaky actor people' for the Nick Cassavetes-directed film, her first producer credit.

Kristen Stewart
Photo: MTV NewsKristen Stewart might be the light in the darkness of "Snow White and the Huntsman," but in her next film, "Cali," Stewart is fully embracing the unsavory. The Nick Cassavetes-directed flick is expected to shoot this summer and, from the looks of it, it exists in a world that couldn't be farther from the fairytale world of "Snow White."
"Hopefully after all of this we can go and we can do it in the summer, like lock ourselves away for a few weeks in the Valley [in L.A.] in a little production office and get together really weird, freaky actor people," she told MTV News. "It's filled with like the coolest characters."
The film centers on Mya (Stewart) and Chris, a couple from San Fernando Valley who sell a fake snuff film and disappear with the money. But Mya, who's thought to be dead, must head back to Cali years later to save the younger sister she left behind. When she and Chris return, they're faced with an array of characters, including "angry former business partners, homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs [and] an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat." Michael Diliberti ("30 Minutes or Less") wrote the script.
"I'm from the Valley. It's been a while since we captured that world and it's super extreme, everything about it. I think it's like, it's extremely violent, it's extremely funny, extremely emotional," she explained about the film, which will be Stewart's first producer credit. "But all very kind of, not hard to watch, but real."
Until she gets real in "Cali," KStew will close the "Twilight" chapter of her career when "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" opens this November. She's expected to hit up the Cannes Film Festival to premiere "On the Road," in which she'll showing another real side of herself when she appears nude.
"I wasn't scared, honestly," Stewart told MTV News of the sex scenes, including a ménage à trois with co-stars Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley.
"It's kind of insane to watch now. I'm like, 'Who is that?' But I think — as every actress says when they do this is — it just felt so right," she said. "It was so within a different world and so within a different environment that I don't even really feel — I mean, I am personally connected to it, of course — but it is something outside of myself."

Photo: Barry King/FilmMagic"Terminator: Rise of the Machines" actor Nick Stahl has been reported missing. Los Angeles law enforcement officials confirmed to TMZ that Stahl's wife, Rose Murphy, reported her husband missing on Monday, saying that the last time she saw the 32-year-old was on May 9.
Sources told the website that Stahl had been displaying some erratic behavior recently and was allegedly spending time in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles. The source also expressed concern that the actor might have become involved in some questionable activities.
This is not the first time, however, that those close to the actor have expressed concern over his well-being. Stahl's wife filed papers with the LA County Superior Court back in February asking a judge to limit her husband's access to their 2-year-old daughter Marlo due to his alleged drug and alcohol abuse. She also claimed that she and Stahl were no longer living together.
There has been no word from Stahl's reps regarding his whereabouts, but Stahl's wife has been relatively active on her Twitter account, posting a general thank you for support early Wednesday (May 16). "Thank you for kind words," she tweeted.

— Rose Murphy Stahl (@TheMrsStahl) May 16, 2012A quick look at Stahl's Twitter account shows that the actor has been inactive since May 1, but that he and Murphy might have been working through their problems since the actor tweeted on April 26 that they were not actually separated.

Stahl made his big-screen debut back in 1993 opposite Mel Gibson in "The Man Without a Face." Since then, he's appeared in several major studio films, inclduing "The Thin Red Line," "Disturbing Behavior" and "Sin City." His most recent role is in the VOD-released "388 Arletta Avenue" opposite Devon Sawa.

Photo: MTV NewsWith book-to-film adaptations being all the rage these days, people just can't seem to stop talking about the latest hot-button page-turner and best-seller "Fifty Shades of Grey." And with the big-screen version of the saucy, S&M-heavy tale on the way, we're doing our best here at MTV News to keep abreast of the latest developments in casting, along with attempts to round up a list of celebrity fans.
When we caught up with in-the-know reality TV superstars Kim and Khloe Kardashian recently, ahead of the premiere of the new season of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," we asked the sisters for their thoughts on the book and its rise to popularity within the pop-culture zeitgeist. Both ladies apparently have a lot of reading to do.
"[I haven't read it] but everyone talks about it," Khloe said. "My grandmother MJ read the first one and said she couldn't put it down. Now she's on the second one. My grandmother!" Khloe added. "Sexy!" Kim also has yet to read the entire story, but admitted to letting her curiosity get the best of her during a recent plane ride that involved reading over a stranger's shoulder.
"There was someone reading it on their Kindle on the plane [in the seat] in front of me and they were a little older so the font was huge," Kim recalled. "I was bored so I was like leaning forward and reading a full chapter."
"I heard it's a great book," Khloe chimed in.
"It's racy," Kim said.
"Grandmothers gotta live too," Khloe said with a smile.
Переслать - Sacha Baron Cohen Built His 'Dictator' From 'The Ground Up'
'He's been to comedy what Marlon Brando was to acting,' director Larry Charles tells MTV News.
By Kevin P. Sullivan
Sacha Baron Cohen in "The Dictator"
Photo: Paramount PicturesFor each of Sacha Baron Cohen's onscreen conquests, one man has been there every step of the way. Larry Charles made a name for himself as supervising producer and occasional writer for "Seinfeld," but his work directing Baron Cohen's films brought him a new kind of recognition.
Baron Cohen asked Charles once again to helm his film with "The Dictator," and MTV News spoke with the director in the lead-up to the film's release.
One of the biggest challenges posed by their new film was the creation of an entirely new character. Unlike Baron Cohen's previous films, which came out of his work on "Da Ali G Show," the writers of "The Dictator" created the concept for General Aladeen with the comedian in mind. This meant that Baron Cohen had to work through the specifics of Aladeen to make him as fully realized.
"Unlike the other movies, where Sacha had a character that he had been working on for years and years and years and was to hone, he knew how this character walked and talked and reacted to every situation when it came to Bruno or Borat or Ali G, but this is a brand-new character," Charles said. "He had to create this character from the ground up, from the accent to the look to the body language. We needed to give him as much time as possible to evolve that character to where he was ready for the camera."
Additionally, "The Dictator" did away with Baron Cohen's old format of real-life people interacting with the character. The more traditional structure allowed Charles to get additional takes with Baron Cohen for the first time. "I had never had a second take with Sacha in any of the movies," he said. "We would do one take. Now that one take may last eight hours for some of the scenes we did in 'Borat' or 'Bruno.' Eight straight hours of him having to do a character. Eight straight hours of filming it. Here we didn't have to do that."
Considering that some of the "Borat" and "Bruno" interviews resulted in lawsuits and physical threats, Charles said the "Dictator" set was indeed much safer, but that security came at a price. "It's certainly physically safer, no question about it," Charles said. "To be in the United States with a full crew and security and have some kind of permission to be there and not encounter the hostility that we have encountered all over the world and here. At the same time, the danger here is complacency."
The real reason Charles has been willing to work with Baron Cohen repeatedly is that he genuinely believes him to be a comedic genius. "I really classify him in that rare company of comic geniuses. I think there have been a handful of them in film and television history," Charles said. "He has changed the face of comedy like few other people have. He's been to comedy what Marlon Brando was to acting. Comedy will be different after him. You can't go back to some of the old-fashioned ways after you've seen Sacha do his thing at his best."

Переслать - 'Anchorman' Legend Lives On With New Poster
Fans get a sneak peek at 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues' (or, at least, the guys' feet) in first official poster.
By Fallon Prinzivalli
"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" poster
Photo: ParamountThe road to the highly anticipated "Anchorman 2" has been a long one. Since "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" arrived in 2004, there were reports from cast and crew confirming a sequel and announcing a script was in the process of being written.
But the words were then taken back, leaving fans dizzy and disappointed believing they wouldn't see the anchormen reunite. Finally, when all hope was lost, Ferrell made a surprise appearance on "Conan" as the legendary Ron Burgundy to announce that the sequel was greenlit.
With the "Anchorman 2" teaser trailer playing before Sacha Baron Cohen's "Dictator," the Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide released the first official poster. It shows the Channel 4 news team's feet standing on set in the studio, the bottom of their suits — including Ron's signature burgundy number, presumably not bought at the toilet store — keeping it classy as always. The official title of the film appears at the bottom in big, bold print ("Anchorman: The Legend Continues") with a release date of 2013.
While the film is still in the very early stages of development, the first movie's director and co-writer Adam McKay will reunite with Ferrell to pen the script and the principal cast is set to return, including Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. When MTV News spoke with McKay back in 2010, he told us he expected much of the cast to come along for the sequel.
"We had an idea, and we contacted Steve and Paul and [David] Koechner and Christina [Applegate] and checked in with everyone, and they were all game for it," McKay said. "It's a tricky movie, because everyone went and did really well after it, so everyone's prices went up and everyone's time got a little more valuable. But at the same time, graciously, Steve and Paul and everyone agreed to cut their price to come and do it, which you don't see very often in Hollywood — and cut their price substantially."
Thanks to the cast's commitment, Ron and the rest of the anchormen are set to hit theaters in 2013. Until then, stay classy, moviegoers.

Переслать - Aaron Sorkin To Write 'Steve Jobs' Movie
'The Social Network' screenwriter will adapt the Apple co-founder's biography for the big screen.
By Fallon Prinzivalli
Aaron Sorkin
Photo: Alexandra Wyman/WireImageFrom "The Social Network" to "Moneyball," screenwriter Aaron Sorkin's work has been widely praised — the former landing him an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Now he's turning his sights to the highly anticipated "Steve Jobs." Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal and president of Columbia Pictures Doug Belgrad announced Tuesday that Sorkin will pen the script based on the best-selling biography by award-winning journalist Walter Isaacson.
"Steve Jobs," published October 2011, was Amazon's best-selling book last year with sales exceeding 2,200,000. Sony bought the movie rights before the tome even released. Pascal commented on the announcement, saying, "Steve Jobs' story is unique: He was one of the most revolutionary and influential men not just of our time but of all time. There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin; in his hands, we're confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining, and polarizing."
Mark Gordon, Scott Rudin and Guymon Casady will produce the project.
This film is not to be confused with the other Jobs biopic, tentatively titled "Jobs: Get Inspired," starring Ashton Kutcher.
Sorkin is currently in production for HBO's "The Newsroom," which is set to premiere on June 24. He'll also try his hand as a librettist for the first time on Broadway's 2013-14 production of "Houdini," starring Hugh Jackman.

Переслать - 'The Dictator': The Reviews Are In!
'If Groucho Marx were alive today, he would probably make movies like 'The Dictator,' ' writes IndieWire's Eric Kohn.
By Terri Schwartz
Anna Faris and Sacha Baron Cohen in "The Dictator"
Photo: Paramount PicturesConsidering all of the appearances Sacha Baron Cohen has made recently as Wadiyan dictator Admiral General Aladeen, it's hard to believe anyone could have not heard of "The Dictator" yet. From to spilling at the Oscars, it doesn't seem like there's a line the "Brüno" star hasn't crossed yet. And to think, the movie has just come out today.
Though "The Dictator" ditches the tried-and-true formula of Baron Cohen's previous works ("Da Ali G Show," "Borat" and "Brüno"), reviewers don't think the shift to a scripted comedy detracts from its overall hilarity. Admiral General Aladeen is a crass, outrageous and hysterical satire, just like the other Baron Cohen characters that came before him. Besides, the film is still , according to leading lady Anna Faris, so it still feels a bit off the cuff.
So is the buzz surrounding "The Dictator" worth it? Keep reading to see what the critics had to say.
The Story
"Baron Cohen employs a comic range that ricochets between wicked political barbs and the lowest anatomical farce, to often funny and occasionally hilarious effect. This is his most conventionally formatted narrative film, without the pretense to catching people off-guard in real situations, and while it will prove too extreme for a portion of the mainstream public, Baron Cohen's fans should generally welcome it to good box-office returns." — Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood ReporterThe Laughs
"Even when sticking to a script, Sacha Baron Cohen leaves no target untouched: His new movie opens with a dedication to the memory of Kim Jong Il and closes with an anti-Semitic gag. If Groucho Marx were alive today, he would probably make movies like 'The Dictator,' British comedian Baron Cohen's latest subversive romp and searing showcase of crass global stereotypes. Transitioning back into a scripted dynamic after his quasi-documentary performance excursions with 'Brüno' and 'Borat,' Baron Cohen loses none of his edge, combining slapstick inspiration and social commentary into a hilariously provocative blend." — Eric Kohn, IndieWireThe Stars
"Cohen and his co-star Jason Mantzoukas have a very strong and funny chemistry, and they play a lot of the film's best scenes together. Anna Faris brings that same level of commitment that she always brings, and she earns some big laughs in the film. As with any rapid-fire comedy, supporting players get a chance to show up, score a few laughs, and then they're gone, and there's one sequence involving Kathryn Hahn that is so deranged both in conception and execution that I'm frankly amazed the film got its R rating without more edits." — Drew McWeeney, HitFixThe Chaplin Connection
"Comparisons to Chaplin's 'The Great Dictator' are inevitable, perhaps, but Baron Cohen doesn't really seem to have any kind of political agenda in mind. Aladeen is just another larger-than-life idiot in the comedian's repertoire, but there are plenty of laughs to be had at his expense." — Alonso Duralde, TheWrapThe Final Word
"As a comic stunt and a political statement, the film seems to exist to support its climax, in which the 'real' Aladeen tries to sell America on the perks of a dictatorship but ends up illuminating America itself. ('Your media would appear free but be secretly controlled by one person and his family!' 'You could fill your prisons with one particular racial group!') As a punchline hammering home the film's core polemic — basically, that 'freedom' and 'tyranny' aren't black and white or mutually exclusive — it's pretty great. But it doesn't justify the film-long setup that precedes it. It suggests what could have been had Baron Cohen and [director Larry] Charles played the material a little straight and given the movie's world stronger ties to our real world. Great satire, after all, is funny because it's true." — Karina Longworth, The Village VoiceCheck out everything we've got on "The Dictator."

Переслать - Rihanna's 'Battleship' Inspiration? 'Bad Bitches'
'I won't name them, but there were a few,' singer-turned-actress tells MTV News of her onscreen role models.
By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh HorowitzOnly a few more days until the year's biggest aliens-at-sea adventure movie "Battleship" sails into theaters. In addition to the intrigue surrounding the sheer spectacle of the film and the very attractive cast, the Peter Berg-directed tentpole features the highly anticipated motion-picture debut of pop superstar Rihanna.
In the film, Rihanna plays the no-nonsense, tough-as-nails Petty Officer Cora "Weps" Raikes, who delivers one of the film's more memorable one-liners, as well as a believably badass performance. When MTV News caught up with the "Where Have U Been" singer recently, we asked if she looked to any specific action movies or actresses for inspiration.
"There were a few — I won't name them, but there were a few," Rihanna admitted of studying other badass onscreen ladies. "[They were] mostly actresses I looked to and looked up to and embodied their characters and tried to see how they would approach the action. I watched a lot of bad bitches," she said with a smile.
In looking ahead toward a potential acting career, Rihanna said she doesn't have a specific five-year-plan, but she hopes to be able to explore more opportunities as they come her way.
"You can't plan for anything, the unknown really. I hadn't done anything in acting so I didn't feel like it was appropriate to have any plan," she said. "I didn't know if I would like it or be good at it. I really enjoyed the experience and I want to do more, try different types of roles so that I can see what I excel in most or like best."

Charlize Theron in "Snow White and the Huntsman"
Photo: UniversalDespite their obvious differences both onscreen and off, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have formed a bond during the filming of "Snow White and the Huntsman" and even more so during the current press tour in support of the film.
When MTV News caught up with Stewart recently, we asked her to compare the familiar scenario of doing interviews with her longtime "Twilight" co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner versus her new castmate, the lovely Ms. Theron.
"When Rob, Taylor and I do interviews together, they usually don't actually ask us anything. We just get to hang out and people like to watch that," Stewart said with a laugh. "It's fine, because I like hanging out with those guys, but it is weird. With Charlize, it's been great, because we're so proud of the movie and we actually only worked together for three days, so we got to know each other probably more or at least on a certain level during press, and it's been nice. It's been fun."
Stewart said she especially admires Theron's ability to light up a room with her energy and humor.
"Some people intimidate you. Some people's energy is so big you feel like you don't fit in the room, but with her, I really appreciate how different we are. I love the effect she has on people," Stewart said. "I find it hilarious. I love watching it happen. I do not have that. Maybe I have something else, but it's definitely not as visceral. Also, she's really hilarious," she added, noting that the Oscar winner uses the more colorful swear words with particular aplomb.
"[She] puts me to shame, to be honest," Stewart said.

'People now refer to Kristen Stewart's bodyguard as 'HBG,' ' co-creator of 'Kristen Stewart's Hot Bodyguard' Facebook page says.
By Kara Warner
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"
Photo: Summit EntertainmentFull disclosure about my love for "Twilight": I don't so much love the books and movies as much as I completely and totally adore the franchise's loyal, enthusiastic, entertaining fans. Really it's their passion and dedication that keeps me interested in the whole thing as we inch closer and closer to the release of the final film, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2." That's why I've decided to dedicate this week's "Twilight" Tuesday to one of the many groups of fans with whom I've become acquainted over the last few years, Kristen Stewart's Hot Bodyguard, more specifically, the three lovely ladies who birthed the creative and entertaining concept: Lynsey Jacob, Sarah Morrill and Jennifer Kelley.
"Kristen Stewart's Hot Bodyguard" is a Facebook group dedicated to, you guessed it, Kristen Stewart's hot bodyguard. The origin of their popular group (3,000 members and growing!) can be traced to first glimpses of said bodyguard during the "Eclipse" press tour, followed by an in-person encounter at Stewart's NYC promotion for "Welcome to the Rileys," and then an excellent bit of brainstorming during a walk to the subway that begot the term "HBG" (Hot Bodyguard) and the Facebook page. Since then, the ladies have kept close tabs on their man via photos, fellow fans and making the occasional trip to a major event. (I was lucky enough to meet Jacob, Morrill and Kelley at such an event, last year's "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" premiere.)
"The goal is always to get a wave," Jacob told MTV News of the most memorable aspects of their HBG sightings. "It's exciting. Another one that always cracks me up is watching all of the tweets about HBG when there's an event going on. When he wasn't at the Kids' Choice Awards, people were freaking out. And these tweets are from around the world! Half the time it's in another language."
"I actually really enjoy making graphics and fun little [themed] pictures for the page," Morrill added. "I also designed the shirts that we made for the 'Breaking Dawn' premiere last year and have already started working on some ideas for this year's shirts and other swag. Other than that, it's always cool to see how excited the fans get when we post new pictures or videos of HBG, especially because I'm just as excited to see them as they are! We will be representing Team HBG to its fullest at the 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' premiere in L.A. in November and are excited to meet new fans and see some old ones from the premiere last year."
One thing to point out about these ladies is that they don't take themselves too seriously. Yes, they are dedicated fans, but they also just want to continue to have fun with the concept.
"When Stephenie Meyer grabbed a hold of our HBG heads on a stick and took photos with them, that was so cool," Jacobs recalled of the author embracing their "fan art" at last year's premiere. "We were always worried that people would think we were crazy instead of just creative fans, but overall, the page and the whole concept has been really well-received."
"My dream for the group is for it to continue for as long as possible, maybe even until a gray-haired HBG is beating away the paparazzi with his cane in order to protect Kristen," Morrill joked. "Truthfully, when we started this page a year and half ago, we never could have imagined what it would become. People around the world now refer to Kristen Stewart's bodyguard as "HBG." We did that. Stephenie Meyer knows who we are. Kristen mentioned our page in an article for British GQ last year. The awesome folks at MTV think we're cool. It really doesn't get much better than that! The only thing I could imagine that would put a cherry on top of this entire experience is to one day be able to change the group's profile picture to one of the three of us with Kristen and 'HBG.'

Related PhotosПереслать - Cannes Film Festival: Our Top 10 Must-See Movies
Films from Robert Pattinson ('Cosmopolis') and Kristen Stewart ('On the Road') have us pumped, along with eight others.
By Kevin P. Sullivan
Robert Pattinson in "Cosmopolis"
Photo: Alfama FilmsHollywood is officially headed to the French Riviera for the 65th Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off Wednesday. With so much of the attention Stateside focused squarely on the "Rob and Kristen Factor," we thought it would be helpful to take a look at the lineup and share the films we are most excited about at the upcoming festival.
Here are our top 10 most anticipated movies at the Cannes Film Festival:
10. "The Paperboy"
This adaptation of the Peter Dexter novel marks Lee Daniels' first film since making it big on the indie scene with "Precious." "The Paperboy" promises a different direction for Daniels, telling the story of a reporter (John Cusack) who travels back to his home town to investigate a death-row case.9. "Reality"
Director Matteo Garrone made waves at Cannes in 2008 with his hyper-real look at Neapolitan organized crime, "Gomorrah," which won the Grand Jury Prize that year. For this year's festival, he returns with "Reality," a look at the way we perceive life since the dawn of reality television.8. "Cosmopolis"
Robert Pattinson's name alone has drawn much attention to this in-competition film, but the true nature of its intrigue lies with its director, David Cronenberg. With his adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel, Cronenberg, with the help of Pattinson, of course, looks to be revisiting the bizarre aesthetics and subject matters that made him famous in the 1980s. We've been waiting for this one ever since it won the MTV Movie Brawl 2012 back in January.7. "Like Someone in Love"
"Certified Copy," the previous film from Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, earned Juliette Binoche a best actress award at Cannes in 2010, but the film itself is one of the best examples of pure art-house filmmaking in the past few years. With "Like Someone in Love," Kiarostami shifts his focus from Italy to Japan but keeps the same entry point of a man and a woman who may or may not know each other.6. "Amour"
"The White Ribbon," Michael Haneke's previous film tangentially about the saplings of fascism in Germany, wowed audiences on the Croisette in 2009, and "Amour" seems poised to do the same. The film tells the story of Georges and Anne, an octogenarian couple whose bond comes under strain after one of them suffers an attack.5. "On the Road"
Similar to "Cosmopolis," "On the Road" has drawn a great deal of attention because it features a "Twilight" star, in this case Kristen Stewart, but she only makes up an element of this insanely star-studded Jack Kerouac adaptation, which also stars Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Terrence Howard.4. "Lawless"
Formerly known as "Wettest County," this Southern-set prohibition crime film boasts a cast featuring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce and a critical darling of a director, John Hillcoat. The recently released trailer looks strong, and Hillcoat's pedigree alone (his previous films include "The Proposition" and "The Road") make this a must-see for the festival.3. "Rust and Bone"
A film about a whale trainer who loses a leg to an orca doesn't necessary seem like Palme d'Or material, but "Rust and Bone" comes from director Jacques Audiard, who took the Grand Jury Prize in 2009 with the impressive "A Prophet," and it stars Marion Cotillard as the unfortunate trainer.2. "Killing Them Softly"
It wouldn't be surprising if you haven't seen "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," but it would certainly be unfortunate. The western starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck debuted and left theaters quietly, but since 2007, the film has slowly gained a reputation as a modern classic. As director Andrew Dominik's first film since "Jesse James," "Killing Them Softly" stands out as both his reunion with Pitt and his much-anticipated follow-up.1. "Mud"
A writer/director may take a few films to nail down their voice and storytelling identity, but with his first two movies, Jeff Nichols has not only established himself as a serious filmmaker, but also one of the most exciting auteurs working today. Those films, "Shotgun Stories" and "Take Shelter," are two genuine masterpieces of American filmmaking, and we look forward to his third feature film "Mud," starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon. For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com.

'It was literally perfect,' the actress deadpans about stepping on a rusty nail on her final day.

Kristen Stewart in "Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"
Photo: SummitThis fall's final installment of "The Twilight Saga" will leave fans feeling bitter-sweet. While excitement bubbles with the anticipation of seeing "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" finally grace the big screen, it wavers a bit with the realization that the cast has put away their golden contacts for good. When MTV News caught up with Kristen Stewart, she told us what her last moments on set were like after filming "Breaking Dawn" reshoots.
Keeping true to KStew's honest nature, it wasn't filled with teary-eyed goodbyes or a final empowering line from the script. Instead, she injured herself. "The very last thing I did was step on a rusty nail," she said, "before a big promotional tour, running barefoot through fake woods."
That's pretty typical Stewart behavior if you ask us.
"I know! It was literally perfect," she continued. "I was like, 'I need to do this on a 'Twilight' set before I had to go wear heels in front of the entire world and have people go, 'She's just ridiculous with the heel situation.' It's like, 'No, I promise you I actually hurt myself again!' "
The filming for both parts of "Breaking Dawn" wrapped back in April 2011, but director Bill Condon revealed reshoots were in store for April 2012. On the film's official Facebook page he wrote, "Rob [Pattinson] and Kristen will be there too, to pop in those gold contacts one last time."
But with the rest of the cast absent and the glitzy wrap parties over, Stewart said the final filming felt a bit anticlimactic. "I also wasn't there on the very last day that Bill finished. I think he had a few pick up shots. When they wrapped me and Rob — you know, people clap for the actors when they wrap because they wrap before everyone else — it felt so ridiculous. We were like, 'Why are you guys clapping right now? Yeah, good on you, too.' " she said as she began clapping and mimicking the confused look on her and Rob's faces.
"I came back to set to do the same for Bill," she continued, "and he was like, 'I have to come back tomorrow to shoot, like, Volturi feet running through snow.' And I was like, 'Oh, damn, bye.' "

'I never heard anything about that,' singer and 'Battleship' co-star tells MTV News.

Rihanna
Photo: Michael Loccisano/ Getty ImagesFans have been teased with an exclusive "Battleship" clip and movie stills of singer Rihanna making a splash on the big screen. Her acting debut comes at a time when she's still riding high on the music charts. With four songs in the top 30 on Billboard's top 100, Rihanna is taking the entertainment world by storm.
When the musician-turned-actress sat down with MTV News, she revealed that she's been considered for quite a few roles but wanted to make sure she had a better handle on her acting before diving into uncharted waters.
"I got a few scripts, actually, a lot of incredible roles," she said. "Some of which I felt were a little too big for me, being that I never did a movie. So I wanted to really get my feet wet, try it, see what it was like and know how I wanted to move from there. I'm really glad 'Battleship' turned out to be the first one."
With Whitney Houston's death, there's been talk of a Whitney biopic and a lot of buzz surrounding which starlet would be right for the project. Rihanna's name has been thrown out there now that she's establishing her acting chops, but the singer called the speculation "just rumors. I never heard anything about that."
The rumors may have stemmed from Rihanna's April interview with the U.K. Press Association in which she said she would give her "entire life" to play Whitney Houston. "That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off," Rihanna said. "That's a huge, huge role, and whoever does it has to do a good job."
Her desire for the part stems from her great respect for the late singer. "My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song: 'I Will Always Love You,' " she continued. "It was really inspiring, and it made me develop a passion for music, so really, she's partly responsible for me being here in this industry."
Audiences can see Rihanna light it up on the big screen when "Battleship" hits theaters Friday, May 18.

'It's crazy, but it's good,' actress tells MTV News at film's London premiere.

Kristen Stewart
Photo: MTV NewsKristen Stewart is throwing away her damsel-in-distress image and taking up arms against the evil queen, Ravenna (Charlize Theron), in "Snow White and the Huntsman." In her sword-wielding debut, Stewart leads the fight to reclaim the kingdom from Ravenna, and with that comes an inspiring call to arms. When the actress spoke to MTV News at the London premiere of the upcoming film, she revealed her concerns about pulling off the speech credibly.
"We saved it until the very last day, actually," she said. "We re-wrote it every single day of the shoot. Me and [director] Rupert [Sanders] had it in our back pocket the entire time. Ultimately, I don't think that it makes a whole lot of sense, but it feels right. Do you know what I mean? It's very up-in-the-air; it's very subjective until the very end. Until some — I don't want to give anything away, but until the very obvious line. It's so Bravehearty. It's crazy, but it's good. It's good."
Judging by the screaming that greeted Stewart when she hit the red carpet, it doesn't seem like her fame is about to die down anytime soon, even with "The Twilight Saga" nearing its end. In fact, the actress said that the fans at the "Snow White" premiere reminded her of past "Twilight" crowds. "It feels very similar actually," she said. "I was expecting it to be — not smaller — just, I didn't think it would be like this."
And even though Stewart has yet to see boyfriend Robert Pattinson in "Cosmopolis," she revealed he's already seen her in action as the revamped Disney princess. "He likes it. He really likes it. It's cool. It's good. I'm really proud of it," she said.
As she should be, since the actress' transformation into a rousing action star makes this film one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer. So how exactly will she wind down after a successful premiere?
In true Kristen Stewart fashion, the actress replied, "I love what I'm wearing, but I'm going to take this thing off, first off. [I'll] probably get into some jeans."
Audiences can see Stewart don armor and chainmail when "Snow White and the Huntsman" hits theaters June 1.

Actor takes us behind Sacha Baron Cohen's 'scientific' approach to creating what he calls a 'great political satire.'

Sacha Baron Cohen in "The Dictator"
Photo: ParamountIt's easy to imagine the set of a Sacha Baron Cohen film in a state of constant chaos, but according to Sir Ben Kingsley, working on "The Dictator" was anything but that.
MTV News spoke with the legendary actor about his time working on the latest Baron Cohen flick and how a scene moved from the page to what we eventually see on the screen.
Though Baron Cohen films are known for their highly improvised nature, Kingsley recalled starting each scene from a substantial script and working from there. "We would shoot the scripted scene thoroughly, printable, useable," Kingsley said. "Then Sacha, and very often the writers, the wonderful guys were on set, they would say, 'Can we shoot some alts (alternatives)?' I was primed for that, and I was up for that. They were at least an equally pleasant part of the day shooting as the script was."
Those alternative takes would come out of ideas occasionally thought up on the spot and spun from there. "We'd shoot our alts, and I see many of them on the screen. We'd have a version and then we would slightly flip the ending or slightly flip a line here or there," Kingsley said.
In Kingsley's opinion, this method of comedy was just a part of the systematic way Baron Cohen approaches his material. "Sacha does approach comedy scientifically. He doesn't fool around on the set," Kingsley said. "He's very focused. He's very committed to the film and the truths that are wrapped up in this great, amazing comedy experience are always intact."
It's those truths that make "The Dictator" something more than a summer comedy, a quality all of Baron Cohen's films have shared.
"The dictatorship is always abhorrent. The dictator is usually a collection of prejudices and bigotry. They loathe democracy," Kingsley said. "All of that is food for the enormous comedy feast that the film turns into, but it's rooted in certain truths. You get them, or you don't. What you do get is an amazing blockbuster, summer comedy, but then underneath that layer is a great political satire."

Kristen Stewart as "Snow White"
Photo: Universal"Snow White and the Huntsman" opens June 1. What follows is an account of my travels to the U.K. to catch up with the cast — Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and more — in the English countryside and at the movie's world premiere in Leicester Square in London.
Thursday, May 10
It's late and I'm tired. But that's a good thing because the goal is to sleep for a decent portion of the redeye from New York City to London. That said, I'm not great at falling asleep on planes. I tend to overcompensate by loading up with every magazine known to man and paperbacks I'll never read. Tonight I've got some soft-core porn in my carry-on in the form of "50 Shades of Grey." I swear it's for a good cause (an upcoming bit we're working on), but it doesn't make me feel any less embarrassed.Friday, May 11
I'm in Sussex and if you pointed a gun to my head asking me where that appears on a map, I'd be a goner. High on the list of enviable things about my job are trips like this. But I'm excellent at squandering culturally edifying opportunities. So yes, I'm kinda sorta only casually noticing the random sheep and gorgeous greenery that lines the English countryside today. Also, remember the sleep-on-the-plane strategy? That didn't work out. Three-hour afternoon naps are cool, right?Saturday, May 12
It's the big day. A gaggle of industry colleagues and I journey to Arundel Castle near where the studio folks have decided to set up shop for the interviews. It's a gorgeous day and the cast couldn't be cooler. Everyone remarks that Kristen is in great form today, and having interviewed her frequently in the past, I agree. Maybe it's the movie (she's deservedly proud of it), maybe it's maturity or her mood. Whatever the reason, she's easy to laugh and kick back during our time together. And yes, "50 Shades of Grey" came up. In fact Kristen mentioned how creeped out she is by seeing people reading it on planes. ... I choose not to mention my choice of reading material on the flight over. The rest of the interviews are truly fun. I learn a couple hours after chatting with Chris Hemsworth that he'd become a dad just the day before. Charlize takes a break from her interviews to watch nearby goats frolicking. Or was it something dirtier? Not sure. Later that day, the journalists grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant. We spot a peacock, Kristen herself ... and maybe even a high-profile friend of hers. But that would be gossiping.
Sunday, May 13
It's another travel day as I head back to London for the big world premiere on Monday night (May 14). As a born and bred New Yorker, London is familiar to me in all its hustle and bustle and, unfortunately, its maddening traffic. But at least there's time to wander about a bit. No complaints.Monday, May 14
Leicester Square ain't what it used to be: Universal has transformed it into a pretty awesome forest straight out of the film. But the real attention-grabber is probably Charlize's barely-there dress. I'm a journalist. It is my duty to look closely at these things. As for Snow herself, Kristen is all smiles in a beautiful dress. And yes, sneakers, of course, though she insisted it was only because of her recent "Breaking Dawn" re-shoots injury.Meanwhile, just as the red carpet is wrapping, I discover a new man-crush in Ray Winstone (one of the dwarves in the film) — all swagger and style and yeah, he's smoking (OK, that part's not to be admired) but. ... Back in my hotel room now and it's all over but the late-night room service. Tomorrow I fly home. And this time by the way, I'm packing "50 Shades of Grey" deep in the luggage.
