  • 'Glee' Star Chord Overstreet Teases Some Stripping

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at "Glee" headquarters! Our favorite McKinley High students (and graduates!) began work on the fourth season of their Fox hit a few weeks ago, and things are already taking a turn for the sexy. At least according to a tweet from star Chord Overstreet.

Now listen, Chord, we'd be more than happy to swing by with a carafe of iced tea and some palm fronds to fan you off. Seriously. We're just a call (and short cross-country flight) away. But we'll make it happen.

"Glee" returns to the airwaves September 13, when we'll get our first look at high-profile guest stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson. In the meantime, if you need to get your "Glee" fix, make sure to check out our EXCLUSIVE featurette, "Ask Sue", from the season three DVD hitting stores August 13.

  • Emma Thompson: 'Beautiful Creatures' Is 'An Intelligently Told, Very Funny Story'

This spring, MTV News was lucky enough to conjure up an exclusive visit to the set of the big-screen adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl's novel "Beautiful Creatures," where we got all kinds of inside dish from young stars Alice Englert, Alden Ehrenreich, Thomas Mann and Zoey Deutch. But one cast member we didn't get to lay our caster-loving eyes on was Emma Thompson, who plays the dual role of Mrs. Lincoln and Serafina. Well, our friends over at NextMovie caught up with the iconic actress recently, who had plenty of praise for the supernatural screenplay.

"I thought the script was funny and witty and very much an intelligently-told, very fun story," she said. "And the part was one of the most interesting I've been asked to play in a long time."

  • 'The Host' Star Saoirse Ronan 'Loved' Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight' Books

Do we have sparkly vampires to thank for actress Saoirse Ronan being cast as dual lead Melanie/Wanda in the Stephenie Meyer adaptation "The Host"? Sort of! When we caught up with the 18-year-old on the set of her upcoming alien invasion flick, she explained her history with the author's other best-selling supernatural story and how it informed her decision to be "The Host."

"I think everyone is familiar with 'Twilight' at this stage because it kind of took over the world there for a while," Saoirse said. "So I was familiar with her books, which I loved, and the movies as well, obviously, and I had heard that 'The Host' was being made into a film and read the script and thought the concept was so incredible, just the idea of inhabiting Earth to perfect it. That this was their goal—not to destroy it or really take it over, but just to perfect things and get rid of any negative emotion—was really intriguing to me, so then I read the book as well, and that was fantastic. It's huge. It's a big book."

Indeed it is, Saoirse. But, thankfully, the film has an expert adapter in screenwriter/director Andrew Niccol, who managed to repackage the work into a script that's didn't translate into a 14-hour film.

"He's obviously a fantastic writer," Saoirse enthused. "That's his strong point: to do mind-blowing concepts like that. He's very good at that sci-fi type of drama. We've all said that how he was able to condense 600-plus pages into a 120-page script is kind of amazing."

Click play on the clip above to hear more from Saoirse, including why she sympathizes with alien inhabitant Wanda.

"The Host" invades theaters March 29, 2013.

  • Sing Along With The 'Pitch Perfect' Bellas As They Pitch-Slap Some Bros

We can't press play just yet on the sweet, sweet a cappella harmonies of "Pitch Perfect" (the movie doesn't hit theaters until October 5), but here's a little prelude to tide you over: a brand new clip from the film, in which our fave girl crushes Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson dominate the pants off their musical rivals with an impromptu riff on an R&B favorite by Blackstreet. Do you like the way they work it? (Answer: NO DIGGITY.)

And if seeing the ladies dish out a nice hot helping of a cappwnage has inspired you to start beatboxing, harmonizing, and vocalizing on your own no-instruments arrangement, don't limit your performance to your shower! The movie is breaking out it's own contest in conjunction with "Pitch Perfect" actor and a cappella heavyweight Mike Tompkins, with a chance for talented music geeks to showcase their skills in a new music video. It's an a cappella rendition of "Starships" by Nicki Minaj, and the field is wide open for vocals, dance moves, beatbox, and/or guitar, bass, synth and back-up sounds—the best of which will make their way into an arrangement and music video that'll debut on Mike's YouTube channel and be featured on the "Pitch Perfect" DVD.

  • Alan Ritchson Grabs Gloss In 'Catching Fire'

The "Catching Fire" casting is heating up, with announcements now rolling on the regular as Lionsgate fills out its stable of tributes for the 75th Hunger Games—and today, it's an evil Career who's officially on board! The word came down this afternoon that Alan Ritchson has been cast as Gloss, the Quarter Quell tribute from District 1 (the home base of Glimmer, Marvel and Cashmere, which is known first for breeding Hunger Games champions and second for giving them really silly names.)

Alan has made all the usual up-and-coming actor's appearances on shows like "CSI" and "Smallville," but you might recognize this fine, foxy gentleman from a slightly more unique moment in entertainment history: He's the former "American Idol" contestant who delivered a very sexy solo serenade to Paula Abdul back in 2004. (His charms got him through the audition round, but alas, he was cut in Hollywood...at which point the show became roughly 50 percent less well-muscled.) But after almost 10 years on television, he's older, wiser, and possibly even more chiseled, making him a perfect choice for the hard-hearted (and nicely toned) Gloss.

"Catching Fire" blazes into theaters November 22, 2013.

  • Esquire's Next Generation List: A Tribute To 'The Hunger Games'?

Esquire's new shortlist of up-and-coming young men with major movie-star potential made us look twice—and not just because it's round, firm and fully-packed with six extremely ogle-worthy hotties. Because while the guys featured all have good looks, great style and mad acting skills, a full 50 percent of them have another something special in common: They've been considered for the all-important and probably iconic role of "Hunger Games" heartthrob Finnick Odair. And hmmmmm, isn't that interesting?

Although they're likely not in the running anymore (insert obligatory grumbling about how long the casting is taking), Esquire featurees Garrett Hedlund, Armie Hammer, and Taylor Kitsch have all been named at one point or another as contenders to play the District 4 tribute. And while we're not saying that the good folks at Esquire have been tracking the "Finnick" tag on tumblr in search of a few fine fellows to showcase in this article...well, we're not saying they weren't, either. Because they obviously did. Maybe.

Anyway, whether it's an intentional nod to the "Hunger Games" fandom or just a happy coincidence, you can still enjoy the spectacle of three early Finnick picks, finely styled for stardom and standing together in one photo... and if that doesn't get you clicking, perhaps the words "Idris Elba in a slim-cut suit" will do the trick. Because daaaaaaaaaamn.

What do you think: Did Esquire mine the "Catching Fire" casting forums for ideas on who to feature?

  • Chris Colfer Adapting 'Struck By Lightning' Script Into YA Novel

We already knew that Chris Colfer was a talented dude thanks to his fabulous work on "Glee"—and a multi-talented one thanks to his first feature film, "Struck by Lightning." But while all that singing and dancing and acting and writing AND producing would be enough to satisfy most Hollywood overachievers (or at least prompt a much-needed vacation), a report from Entertainment Weekly has the news that Chris' boundless energy and apparently bottomless supply of talents has him sprouting yet another branch on the already-flourishing tree of his career: a new young-adult novel!

The book is called "Struck by Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal," a literary adaptation of the film with the same name—which Chris wrote, produced, and starred in, and which will be released by Tribeca Films later this year. The story centers on an ambitious young man named Carson Phillips, whose long-standing plan to escape his small town and become an intellectual heavyweight at New York's most hoity-toity magazine is compromised when he's (surprise, surprise) struck by lightning. Also, there's blackmail involved.

This will be Chris's second book (he's already published a bestselling middle-grade novel called "The Land of Stories"), and it'll be out in stores November 20. And with the release date likely coinciding more or less with the appearance of the movie in theaters, devoted fans will have the choice to read it, or see it, or even, if you are feeling very energetic, read it and see it at the same time.

  • Kelly Clarkson Rocks 'Vampire Diaries' Set

Forget Miss Mystic Falls—all eyes today were on "Vampire Diaries" set guest Miss Independent.

"Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev revealed via Twitter that she ran into none other than songstress Kelly Clarkson and tour mates The Fray while working on her CW series. The songstress is in Georgia for her summer tour, and if The Fray have anything to do with it, she may just headline a certain local eatery.

"Thinking of playing a secret show at the Mystic Grill later. @ninadobrev @kelly_clarkson -BW" the band tweeted. We'd definitely belly up to the bar for that performance. Guys, is it too much to ask for a cameo?

  • Amber Riley Tuning Up For 'Cotton Club Parade'

Amber Riley already feels at home in the Big Apple. Which might explain why she feels so relaxed as she gets closer and closer to her big New York stage debut in the off-Broadway show, "Cotton Club Parade."

"I'm like an honorary New Yorker," she told MTV News. "Like, I've been to New York so much and there's like places that I like to go to, but I'm actually a homebody. I like to sit in my hotel and watch movies and order room service."

That sort of zen approach has also seeped into her summer vacation as she continues to unwind before not only beginning work on the next season of "Glee," but also preparing for her November run.

"This is my New York stage debut, and it's like an ode to Duke Ellington and that era of music," she explained. "I always say I was born in the wrong era. I should have been right along with Lena Horne and Ethel Waters and all those singers, 'cause I love that type of music. So this is definitely a different venture, a different area of entertainment for me...so I'm really excited."

She added, "I'm not [prepping] right now. I'm still on vacation, but I'm gonna start the rehearsals very soon. I want everyone to go out and see it. It's gonna be something I'm really gonna work hard [on]. I love Broadway and I love theater in New York. It's like pizza in New York. It just goes hand in hand."
