- 'Mortal Instruments': Five Scenes On Our Wish List
With reports last month that Screen Gems dropped the first "Mortal Instruments" adaptation, "City of Bones," fans worried the movie would never go into production. Author Cassandra Clare cleared up the rumors on her Tumblr, telling readers, "Screen Gems didn't drop the project... it was given over by Sony to a different division to develop back in August of 2011... The movie is in development."
Well, it looks like with the incredible success of YA book-to-movie franchises (cough, "Hunger Games"), Screen Gems wants back in. According to a Deadline report, the Sony-back company is close to sealing a deal to distribute the film. We're thrilled the movie is progressing forward, and we've compiled five scenes from the book that we're hoping make it into the big-screen adaptation. Warning: spoilery content ahead for those of you who have yet to read the books!
Pandemonium Club
At the beginning of the novel, Clary Fray and her best friend, Simon, head out to Pandemonium, where the story really begins. It's where Clary first meets Shadowhunters Jace, Alec and Isabelle, and realizes she can see things other humans cannot. When Simon and Clary first arrive at the club, she describes the colorful characters she sees. What she doesn't realize is the club is filled with Downworlders — vampires, werewolves and faeries. Since we don't meet these otherworldly figures until later on, we're hoping the director and screenwriters show previews of the characters for us "Mortal Instruments" veterans.Magnus Bane's Party
Magnus Bane, the High Warlock of Brooklyn, is an extremely fascinating character. In the books he's described as wearing glitter, vibrant nail polish and lipstick, sparkly belt buckles, and rainbow leather pants. We imagine the parties he throws for Shadowhunters and Downworlders are no match for any party we've ever been to — and we can't wait to attend.Vampire Coven's Hotel
It doesn't look like we'll get away from this vampire trend anytime soon, and that's completely fine by us. When Simon is accidentally turned into a rodent and taken to a vampire coven's hotel, Jace and Clary head there to rescue him — only to find themselves surrounded by the thirsty undead. It'll be interesting to see vampire headquarters different from the Cullen-style luxury we're used to in "Twilight."The Greenhouse Kiss
While it's clear the very lovable Simon has a crush on Clary, we can't help but root for her and Jace. This is the first kiss between the pair. It takes place in a greenhouse that Jace shows her after dinner. The romantics in us can't wait to see how it translates onto the screen!Epic Battle Between Forsaken and Wolf Pack
First let us explain that Luke is Clary's father-figure due to his friendship with Clary's mother. Clary finds out Luke is also a werewolf. After Jace is taken by Valentine — who turns out to be his and Clary's father — Clary and Luke seek to rescue Jace with the help of Luke's werewolf pack. As they reach Valentine's lair, they're assaulted by an army of Forsaken. Forsaken are humans without any Shadowhunter blood, who are marked with a Shadowhunter rune. They become lethal killers for whomever marks them and don't sleep or eat unless they're told. The epic battle should prove to be an amazing action sequence for the film if done correctly. Are you excited about "City of Bones?" Tell us in the comments or on Twitter!
Переслать - How I Met My Hollywood Crush: 'Godspell' Star Hunter Parrish
Let's be honest, we've all got a Hollywood Crush—a cutie whose sheer existence inspires countless fever dreams and inestimable hours of Google Image gawking. For a lucky few, those fantasies become reality when faced with said star...in real life. Welcome to our new weekly feature, How I Met My Hollywood Crush, in which readers recall the time they rubbed elbows with their special celebrity someone!
MTV Movies editorial assistant Fallon Prinzivalli kicks things off with her run-in with one of our favorite adorable blonds. Do you have a story to share? Send it to mtvhollywoodcrush(at)gmail.com, and it could appear here!
When I heard Hunter Parrish was heading to Broadway for "Godspell," I was beyond thrilled. I must admit that I haven't watched a single episode of "Weeds," but when I found out he was in the running for the "Hunger Games" role of Peeta Mellark, I thought he was perfect and jumped on the bandwagon. I rooted for Hunter until the casting announcement came that Josh Hutcherson snagged the role. I was disappointed to the point of switching to Team Gale.
Oh well, I got over it quickly when I learned I'd be able to meet my Hollywood Crush. On Broadway, the stars of the show come out of the stage door after each performance to sign Playbills and take pictures with fans—it was the perfect opportunity to meet Hunter. My friend grabbed tickets to a performance, and while I couldn't go with her at the time, I met up with her after to catch a glimpse of him.
He came out of the theater with a huge smile on his face and began signing every autograph and taking every picture requested of him. As soon as he walked up to me, I looked him dead in the eye and said, "Hunter, you will always be my Peeta." He gave me a look that told me he was just as sad about the casting as I was and said, "Thank you. Seriously. That means a lot." And since—as much as I hate to admit it—Josh kind of sold me on his Peeta when I saw the film last weekend, here's hoping Hunter lands the role of Finnick.

Переслать - 'True Blood' Season 5 Teaser: What (Or Who) Is Sookie Burying?
HBO showed us their teeth —and it did not suck.
After teasing Truebies with numerous promos utilizing retreaded footage, the cabler finally broke out a six-pack of fresh "True Blood" in the form of a short trailer, which debuted ahead of "Game of Thrones"' second season premiere. (Talk about an epic night of television!) Unsurprisingly, the sneak peek left us with more questions than answers. Namely, what (or who) is Sookie burying in her yard? (Here's hoping it doesn't rhyme with Kara!) Where is Russell Edgington? And who is that making out with our vampire boyfriend Eric?
Conversely, a few things became clear after slurping down the teaser: Reverend Steve Newlin is back, and it looks like he wants something from his former Fellowship of the Sun recruit Jason. We also spotted one of several new cast mates, Eric's fellow Godric progeny, Nora, played by Lucy Griffiths, who flaunts her fangs alongside Eric and Bill. And then, there's the fact that something will go BOOM.
My only disappointment in the 30-second clip? No first look at Christopher "So Hot" Meloni as a bloodsucker. I'd even have accepted a scene where he keeps his shirt on. Let's try a little harder next time. Okay, HBO?
"True Blood" returns for its fifth season in June.
What did you think of the "True Blood" teaser? Are you satisfied or did it only stoke your thirst for more? What did you spot in the trailer that we missed? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!
