- Heejun Han Only Regrets Not Taking Off His Pants On 'American Idol'
'I don't regret anything that I did,' latest 'Idol' casualty says of his oddball, oft-hilarious run on the show.
By James MontgomerySince his exit from "American Idol", last week, Heejun Han has made the most of his post-show media blitz, openly pining for judge Jennifer Lopez, taking jabs at mentor Jimmy Iovine and, of course, suggesting Diddy may have been in the bag during his appearance on the show. Oh, and he also joked that he's going to start watching "The Voice."
Needless to say, it's been a wild ride — nearly as wild as his time on the show itself — so when Han stopped by the MTV newsroom on Monday (April 2), we asked him about all the comments he's made since getting the boot. And, as you'd probably expect, he wasn't about to apologize.
"I'm just going to be me, that's all," Han said. "But I will say that the show itself was the greatest opportunity a person could ever have in their lifetime, I believe. A guy like me, who has less talent than any other contestant that's on that stage made it this far was amazing. It was a God-given gift."
Of course, he took the same tack when asked about his now-infamous performance of Billy Joel's "My Life," in which he shed a tuxedo and sprinted through the audience, much to the annoyance of judge Steven Tyler and, judging by his getting voted off the show the following week, the majority of the "Idol" audience too. But does he regret doing any of it? In a word: No.
"It's supposed to be entertaining. It's either [supposed to] make them cry, make them laugh, or make them pissed off about something. I felt like I at least did two of the three [with] Billy Joel," he explained. "People ask me, 'What would you do differently, because that's the thing that caused you to go home?' But only thing I'd do differently this time, if I could go back in time, then I'm not just going to take off my tuxedo, I'm also going to take off my pants. I don't regret anything that I did; entertaining people is catching them out of nowhere, and I felt like I did it."
And to that end, Han said he's proud of everything he accomplished during his time on "Idol," because he'll be the first to admit that he came into the competition with less experience than any of his fellow contestants. "I mean, Jessica Sanchez was singing when she was, like, a sperm," he laughed. "My first non-Korean audience was Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, and it just kept getting bigger." And Han truly believes he left at the top, with his rendition of Donny Hathaway's "A Song for You."
"I saw [elimination] coming. Everyone took the Billy Joel performance wrong ... people might have taken it as a joke, and I just had to show them that I do really belong here, and I didn't make it here by mistake. ... I really wanted to finish on a high note," he said. "I knew that was what the whole thing was all about, and if you listen to the song, lyric-wise, it says 'A song for you.' It was not a song for me to just be in this [competition], it's a song for people who have been believing in me and supporting me, but this is my last stage, so, thank you guys."

Jay-Z in the "Rocawear Presents Jay-Z From Marcy to Barclays" commercial
Photo: RocawearEven after 16 fruitful years in the game, Jay-Z continues to push himself, achieving new career milestones with each passing year. In a new ad for his Rocawear clothing line, titled "Marcy to Barclays," the Brooklyn-bred mogul reflects on his rise to the top.
"Marcy to Barclays" references Jay-Z's investment in the NBA Nets and their transition to the newly constructed Barclays Center, which the team will inhabit in Downtown Brooklyn beginning this fall. The 30-second, black-and-white clip begins with snapshots of New York City and the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn, where Jay grew up.
"Wherever you grow up, it's your root, and I'm a kid from the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn," he begins in a voice-over.
As the scenery changes to incorporate shots of Jay in the studio and at his Rocawear offices, the mogul begins to reflect on the drive that's led him to so much success. "I don't know if you're ever done; it's almost like climbing a mountain," he says. "You see another mountain, then you go to the next one and the next one.
"My goal was to have one gold album, and that was it," he adds, considering the impressive arc of his career since his 1996 debut, with Reasonable Doubt. "Then it became ... I want to show that artists can ascend to the executive ranks."
To say that Jay has achieved new career highs in the past year alone would be an understatement. In February, he performed a pair of sold-out charity shows at Carnegie Hall in New York, a groundbreaking moment for a hip-hop artist. "Any time I get a chance to expand and broaden the reach of hip-hop is a great thing for me on a personal level," Jay told MTV News when he originally announced the pair of shows at Carnegie Hall.

We count down our favorite Batman rides, in The Weekly Rising.
By Kevin P. Sullivan
The Batmobile
Photo: AFP/ Getty ImagesWarner Bros. recently shot a bonus feature from the eventual Blu-ray release of "The Dark Knight Rises" (early, I know!) that featured all five Batmobiles from the movies, starting with Adam West's Lincoln to Christopher Nolan's Tumbler.
The videomakes for a cool stunt, seeing all the vehicles in one place, but it also provides insight into just how different the Batmobiles have been over the years — so much so that it begs the question: Which Batmobile was best?
Here is our countdown of the top five Batmobiles from the movies:
5. "Batman and Robin"
Joel Schumacher's [http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/97800/personmain.jhtml] run as the director of the Batman series brought around the two worst Batmobiles by far. Both cars stand as perfect symbols of everything that was wrong with the director's take on the Caped Crusader. They are both too over-the-top to actually function as vehicles, in the same way that Schumacher's Batman simply doesn't work. But of the two, the painful swirling light of the final Schumacher Batmobile from "Batman and Robin" [http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/111939/moviemain.jhtml] remains the worst Batmobile of all time. The one-seater looks like an oversized Happy Meal toy, and the convertible design puts the Bat out in the open air where everyone can make fun of him.4. "Batman Forever"
The first Schumacher Batmobile gets a pass simply because it's not as bad as the one from "Batman and Robin." The enormous fins remain, but the body doesn't extend nearly as far out. It also gets the added benefit of a closed cabin, so Batman can hide his shame from behind the privacy of tinted windows. At the very best, the "Batman Forever" Batmobile wins the losers bracket.3. "Batman: The Movie"
The Batmobile that Adam West drove during his stint as Batman on the television series and the 1966 film is the only one of the Dark Knight's cars that actually looks like a car. Completed in three weeks, the original Batmobile was made from a modified 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car. West's Batmobile scores points now for a retro style that can't be beat and just the right amount of camp.2. "Batman" and "Batman Returns"
Admittedly, this is the ride that inspired the two worst Batmobiles ever, but Tim Burton's take on the Bat vehicle has a certain charm to it. Burton's films in the series had a look all their own, but they never quite went over-the-top insane like Schumacher's, and the same applies to his Batmobile. It had the same long body but had a more refined and battle-ready look to it. As impractical as it probably was, the Burton Batmobile was badass in its own way.1. "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises"
Is there really any other choice? The Tumbler not only fits the realistic take on the series, but it also could eviscerate any and all other Batmobiles. Did I mention that his has a motorcycle hidden inside the front of it? How about the newly added flight feature? It may have been meant originally for building bridges, but all the Tumbler ended up doing was being the toughest ride the streets of Gotham has ever seen. It's only fitting that the greatest iteration of Batman gets the all-around best version of his car.Which is your favorite Batmobile? Let me know on Twitter via @KPSull!

Diddy urges fans to retweet link to rapper's 'Wit My Hoodie On' tribute track.
By Rob MarkmanThe tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin has led a number of prominent hip-hop artists to speak out. On last week's "RapFix Live," Nas, Bun B, Killer Mike and Prodigy all expressed their views on the Florida teen's death at the hands of neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman.
The discussion around Martin, who was wearing a hoodie when he was killed, has also led to protests, televised debates and songs dedicated to young Trayvon. The latest of such singles comes from Diddy signee Los. On Sunday night, the Bad Boy mogul tweeted the link to Los' "Wit My Hoodie On" and urged his followers to retweet it to the world.
The Baltimore MC begins the somber, violin-laced track saying, "I just came here tonight to celebrate the life of Trayvon Martin. Put your hoodie on." Los' track was released eight days after Plies dropped his dedication, "We Are Trayvon," in what seems to be a growing trend.
On "Wit My Hoodie On," Swagger Boy Los goes on to compare the Trayvon tragedy to his own troubles. He begins the first verse recalling the murder of his father 15 years ago and the effect it has had on his life. Toward the second half of the verse, Los brings it back full-circle, spitting, "I'm wrestling for this one shot/ Feeling like Trayvon on the lawn before the gunshot/ I ain't gettin' my up-to-no-good on/ They just wanna kill me, because I put my hood on."
The song's hook is an ode to the hoodie, a fashion staple and now a symbolic representation of Trayvon's gripping death. "I ride (with my hoodie on), I hustle (with my hoodie on)/ Damn right, I represent the struggle (with my hoodie on)."
Veteran news reporter Geraldo Rivera recently said that he believed "the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin's death as George Zimmerman." But on Sunday night, Rivera apologized to Martin's parents when they appeared on his Fox News show. Trayvon's dad, Tracy Martin, accepted Rivera's apology and took a moment to clarify why his son was actually wearing the sweatshirt.
"Your apology is accepted," he said. "Let me just add one thing with the wearing of the hoodie. I don't think America knows that, in fact, at the time of the incident when he initially made the call, it was raining. So Trayvon had every right to have on his hood. He was protecting himself from the rain.
"So if being suspicious, walking in the rain with your hoodie on is a crime, then I guess the world is doing something wrong."

Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty ImagesAdam Levine is on the market again, ladies. The Maroon 5 frontman and "Voice" judge and his girlfriend of two years, model Anne Vyalitsyna have reportedly gone their separate ways. According to People magazine, Levine and Vyalitsyna ended their relationship as friends.
"Adam and I have decided to separate in an amicable and supportive manner. We still love and respect each other as friends," Vyalitsyna told the magazine in a statement. "I wish him all the best."
The Russian-born 26-year-old, also known as Anne V, met Levine, 33, at a Sports Illustrated swimsuit-issue release party in early 2010, where Maroon 5 performed. Vyalitsyna has appeared in the last eight of the mag's celebrated swimsuit editions.
Levine was once known as a playboy of sorts, having been linked to a slew of lovely ladies like Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz and Natalie Portman, but he has seemed to settle down in recent years. His star has definitely been on the rise since landing the gig on "The Voice," and he was recently nominated for a Grammy for Maroon 5's catchy hit "Moves Like Jagger." Levine is also reportedly up for a role on FX's horror soap opera "American Horror Story."
Since it seems as though the breakup was amicable, we hope Levine isn't suffering from too much heartbreak. Though if he is, he can always turn to fellow "Voice" judge Blake Shelton for a shoulder to cry on. Shelton has joked about their friendship in the past, going as far as to admit wanting to kiss Levine.
"All I have to say is, it's true: I have a man crush on Adam," Shelton admitted to MTV News last month. "It blows me away people can pick up on that just by watching that on television. I want to kiss him. I want to kiss him so bad. I don't care if it's mutual or not. Can you honestly tell me that you don't have a little bit of a crush on Adam? He's sexy, is the word I'm using."

Band's stripped-back set will also be available as a live album available digitally at midnight on April 9.
By James Montgomery
Florence and the Machine
Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty ImagesBack in December, Florence and the Machine stripped things down for a taping of MTV's venerable "Unplugged" series. Not surprisingly, this presented a rather unique set of difficulties for the usually raucous band, though not the kind you'd expect.
"It's such a huge thing, and it was so intimate, and I really enjoy doing things stripped back and having the strings and the choir. It was really wonderful," Florence Welch told MTV News. "But what to say in between? I got so bashful. I was so grateful to be there, and I was trying to express that, and it just went into this weird, stilted speech. It ended up with me trying to talk but not saying any words.... Singing is fine. Talking, not so much."
Then again, we suspect Welch is just being modest. On Sunday, April 8, Florence and the Machine fans will get to witness every intimate moment of the band's "Unplugged" performance and decide for themselves, beginning with the premiere at 11 p.m. ET on MTV and Unplugged.MTV.com. (Machine-heads in Europe, Latin America and Asia can watch at FlorenceandtheMachine.MTV.com.) Then, at midnight on April 9, the Florence and the Machine: MTV Unplugged album will be released via iTunes. The album hits physical retailers on Tuesday, April 10.
"I genuinely hope they don't include my talking," Welch laughed.
Sorry, Flo, but there's going to be a bit of your between-song banter. Of course, there's also going to be no shortage of amazing performances in the 10-song set, including stirring takes on her hits "Dog Days Are Over," "Shake It Out" and "Cosmic Love," plus a pair of covers: "Try a Little Tenderness" and "Jackson" (with guest vocals by Queens of the Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme).
Judging from that list of songs, you'd think the "Unplugged" taping was a well-rehearsed affair. But as Welch explained, nothing could be further from the truth.
"We kind of winged it. I felt really comfortable; I'm kind of in my element in that environment, when you're able to really play," she said. "The thing I don't enjoy about TV performances is that I have to sing live to a backing track, because most times they can't afford to mic up the whole band, so you have to sing to something that's just going to keep going, with or without you. And performing in a stripped-back sense, with a band that's playing around you? It's so organic and there's so much freedom to it."
Welch's "Unplugged" performance has already earned rave reviews from one very prominent guest: Kanye West, who was front-and-center for the taping and made his approval known from the very get-go.
"He was dancing and really going for it in the front row — it was amazing," Welch said. "At awards shows you can't really see anyone, because there's lights and they're kind of far away, but for this, it was just like Kanye was just there. I covered 'Try a Little Tenderness,' and he'd just sampled that for the Watch the Throne album, so I was like, 'Um, hi ... you kind of got there before me, but I'm going to do this now, and it's kind of for you.' He was smiling the whole way through, and I think he's a total genius, so to have him there was really incredible."

Katniss and company dominated theaters for the second weekend in a row, but box-office experts wonder if they can tackle the mighty 'Titanic.'
By Kevin P. Sullivan
Jennifer Lawrence in "The Hunger Games"
Photo: LionsgateFor the second week in a row, "The Hunger Games" laid claim to the box office. This past weekend offered a unique challenge for the reigning champ, however. Two relatively big studio films, "Wrath of the Titans" and "Mirror Mirror," challenged Katniss Everdeen and the rest of the tributes, but the two competitors could not overcome. "The Hunger Games" collected an estimated $61 million over the weekend, a 60 percent drop from its $152.5 million debut.
Despite its enormous opening weekend, "The Hunger Games" managed to maintain the buzz around it heading into the second weekend. Jeff Bock, a box-office analyst with Exhibitor Relations, Inc., said that for how big "The Hunger Games" opened, a steeper drop could have been expected.
"Ticket sales dipped 60 percent, but when compared to 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,' which dropped 72 percent, that is a great hold," Bock said. "Especially when you consider how great both films were received. 'Deathly Hallows, Part 2' got some of the best reviews of the franchise, and it still had a huge decline in the second weekend."
Part of that lasting success, says Phil Contrino from BoxOffice.com, belongs to the adults, who are interested in seeing the movie but aren't part of the rabid fanbase. "It's appealing to adults, and adults don't feel the need to rush out opening weekend. They'll take their time discovering it."
Almost as important as what "The Hunger Games" has — like its broad appeal — is what it doesn't have. "The film has everything: love, mystery, and adventure. One thing it doesn't have: 3-D," Bock said. "Proving once again, it is not a necessary distraction for tentpole films."
But can "The Hunger Games" win the weekend competition for a third time in a row? Both Contrino and Box Office Guru's Gitesh Pandya agree that the fight will be a difficult one.
"It's going to be tough. 'Titanic' 3-D and 'American Reunion' both look very strong," Contrino said.
Pandya sees James Cameron's 3-D revamp of "Titanic" as the one that could take down "The Hunger Games." "This coming weekend, 'Hunger Games' will be challenged by the 3-D release of 'Titanic,' which can compete with 'Hunger Games' for the #1 spot if it can break $30M over the Friday-to-Sunday Easter frame."

Baldwin's rep confirmed that the '30 Rock' star proposed to Hilaria Thomas over the weekend.
By Gil KaufmanIf you've noticed that "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin seems more fit and trim lately, it might have something to do with the influence of his 28-year-old girlfriend, yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas. Actually, make that fiancée.
According to a Tweet from Baldwin's publicity rep, "Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend & we're all excited 4 the newly engaged couple. AB's birthday's tom'w. Great way 2 celebrate!"
It will be the second time down the aisle for Baldwin, 54, who was married to actress Kim Basinger for nearly a decade. The pair met on the set of the 1990 movie "The Marrying Man," married in 1993, had a daughter, Ireland, in 2001 and divorced in 2002 after an ugly breakup.
Baldwin reportedly began dating Thomas, an instructor at New York's YogaVida studio, in early 2011. According to USA Today, Thomas was born in Mallorca, Spain, and grew up shuttling between Boston and Spain and studied dance and art history at NYU before becoming a yogi. No date has been announced yet for the wedding, which will be Thomas' first.

Last fall he told The Daily Beast that the relationship got serious pretty quickly. "All of a sudden I found myself where I was available to have something more real in my life," he said. "And now I'm going to move in with her. It's the most serious thing, I guess, I've had in a long, long time." The site reported at the time that Baldwin sold his Upper West Side apartment in August to move downtown to live with Thomas in SoHo.

In the clip released Monday (April 2), Demi and her video boyfriend may have hit a relationship stumbling block, but the singer has found the way to let him know she loves him.
"The new music video, I'm basically trying to convince a guy that I didn't break his heart, and we get into a fight and I try to win him over again," Demi told MTV News recently. "I do something special for him at the end of the song."
The video opens with the couple talking on the phone, and it's clearly about something serious. When Demi starts looking at photos of the twosome in happier times, viewers accompany her on a trip down memory lane with shots of the two cuddling, painting together, sharing flirty glances, dancing and strolling in the sun.
When Demi isn't reminiscing, she's strolling down the street, her bag of photographic evidence that they are perfect for one another hanging on her shoulder. So, what will she do with those photos?
Like a scene out of a good romantic comedy, she makes a collage on the brick wall opposite his apartment window, an endless number of photos that combine to create a portrait of them smiling. Demi, knowing it will work, struts away from the scene of her declaration of love, with an all-knowing smirk on her face.
"Heart a Break" is the second single off what Lovato calls her "upbeat and uplifting" Unbroken album. "I didn't want to come out with this depressing album. I think it's important that I kept a lot of my heart open on the album because I talked about my personal issues," she told MTV News of the 2011 release. "But I also had some fun dance songs on there for people to enjoy."

Was the killing of Robert Baratheon's bastards too much, even for 'Game of Thrones'? Experts weight in.
By Josh Wigler
Peter Dinklage in "Game of Thrones"
Photo: HBOCripples, bastards and broken things don't last long in Westeros — especially the bastards, as seen on Sunday night's "Game of Thrones" season premiere. In what's easily one of the more disturbing scenes in recent television history, the "Thrones" premiere closed with a montage of wicked boy king Joffrey's armored dogs going around King's Landing slaughtering all of late Robert Baratheon's bastard children, a move presumably made to strengthen Joff's claim to the Iron Throne.
It was a powerful scene, one that sent a decisive message to the viewer: If Ned Stark's beheading didn't convince you that the Seven Kingdoms are a deadly, dangerous place to live in, then the merciless killing of illegitimate babies and toddlers should do the trick. Consider the message received, if not universally appreciated.
"I had a bit of a problem with the killing of the bastards, particularly the baby in the whore house at the end of the episode," RollingStone.com and BoiledLeather.com writer Sean T. Collins said of the bastard slaying during this week's inaugural "Watching the Thrones," MTV News' new weekly "Game of Thrones" recap series. "That's an event you learn about in passing conversation in the books; it happens offscreen. To see it onscreen ... that's the kind of thing that's taboo almost for a reason."
Newsarama.com editor Lucas Siegel disagreed with Collins, asserting that such feelings of discomfort are the precise emotions you're supposed to feel after watching the bastard slaying. "It's such a brutal hit," he said. "It knocked me down."
Most viewers were likely reeling along with Siegel and Collins upon seeing the horrific murders in action, but was the scene too horrific, even for a show like "Thrones"? Wired.com contributor and frequent "Thrones" devourer David Barr Kirtley doesn't think so.
"I didn't think it was too far over the line," he said. "The actual murder of the infant happens off-camera, and in any event, I just don't think the idea of soldiers slaughtering children is all that shocking. That even happens in 'Willow' (a PG-rated movie), and most of us probably grow up hearing Bible stories about it. I think that any viewers who kept watching after learning about Craster's incestuous relationship with his daughters and granddaughters probably aren't going to be too scandalized by the slaying of a few bastard boys."
Whether or not viewers felt scandalized after the premiere, Elio García of Westeros.org believes the death of the bastards nonetheless sends a decisive message about the nature of Westeros: "It's an incredibly harrowing way to end the episode, a slaughter of the innocent that's a particularly gross manifestation of one person's power over others. Left off-page in the novel, bringing it forward — and then adding more bodies to the count — was a definite approach to dramatizing and underscoring the brutality that exists in Westeros. It's not as civilized as viewers may first have thought."

Len Wiseman remake, starring Colin Farrell, looks like a sleek, modern update of Arnold Schwarzenegger flick.

Colin Farrell in "Total Recall"
Photo: SonyIf the trailerfor Len Wiseman's remake of "Total Recall" made one thing clear, it's that this is not the "Total Recall" you know. Gone is the camp. Gone is the Martian setting. Gone is the Schwarzenegger.
Instead, the new "Total Recall" is a sleek, visually impressive and modern sci-fi action thriller. Colin Farrell has stepped into the secret-secret-agent boots and the fit seems just right.
Here are our five key scenes from the new "Total Recall" trailer.
Total recall
The trailer begins by giving a good sense of the setup of the story, and once Farrell's character, Douglas Quaid, slips into the Rekal machine, that's when all the trouble starts. Probably one of the strongest visual connections to the Paul Verhoeven-Arnold Schwarzenegger original, the Rekal machine should look vaguely familiar, albeit significantly updated. We do get the added benefit of a bleach-blond John Cho, but from the looks of the trailer, it doesn't seem like he'll be around for very long."I know kung fu"
After taking a seat in the Rekal machine, Quaid has his very own Jason Bourne moment. Once the police show up to arrest the very confused customer, his own secret-agent moves come back to him in a flash, and he's able to dispatch all of the would-be arresting officers just as quickly. The camera jumps around with as much ferocity as Quaid, reminding us that Len "Underworld" Wiseman is definitely behind the lens.Kate Beckinsale: Villainess
And if Len Wiseman is directing, his real-life wife, Kate Beckinsale, can't be too far behind. After Quaid's run-in with the police at the Rekal center, his loving wife, played by Beckinsale, turns out to be not so loving. In fact, she's a deadly assassin set on killing Quaid once his past memories have been unlocked. She's on the tail of Quaid and his new female companion, played by Jessica Biel. Frankly, it's about time we got an evil turn out of Beckinsale.Anti-gravity gunfight
Perhaps the horn blasts throughout the trailer aren't the only nods to Christopher Nolan's "Inception." During the quick clips of scenes near the end of the trailer, we get a brief look at what appears to be a zero-g gunfight.Changing faces
The final shot from the trailer is probably the most intriguing. The always fantastic Bryan Cranston, playing the president of Euroamerica, confronts Quaid, who seems more confused than ever. We then see Quaid's face transform from Farrell's to two other actors' and back to Farrell's. Schwarzenegger's version of Quaid did some shape-shifting of his own, but never with this much style.Check out everything we've got on "Total Recall."

Переслать - Betty's Weight Gain Has 'Mad Men' Fans, Critics Divided
'Still fixated on fat Betty Draper, almost 12 hours later,' one viewer writes of polarizing character's transformation.
By John Mitchell
January Jones in "Mad Men"
Photo: AMCAfter sitting out last week's "Mad Men" season-five premiere, Betty Draper (January Jones) returned on Sunday night looking, well, a bit different. And that new look has been dominating the water-cooler conversation on Monday morning (April 2).
The normally svelte and sexy Jones was pregnant with her now-six-month-old son, Xander, during filming and, rather than write her pregnancy into the show's story line, series creator Mathew Weiner and the show's writers decided to saddle Betty with an unexpected plot twist: They gave her character a significant weight gain and a major potential health crisis to help explain it.
To some, the cancer scare subplot immediately made Betty, who is known for her chilly demeanor and questionable mothering skills, more relatable. "Did you watch Betty Draper's cancer scare on #MadMen last night?" @LHJHealth Ladies wrote. "Who else has been in that boat?"
Others saw the newly remarried Betty Francis' weight gain and ensuing depression over her looks as penance for years of awful behavior. "Betty Draper totally deserved to get fat," @saintjools tweeted.
Early in the episode, Betty's weight gain was contrasted with the physique of ex-husband Don Draper's (Jon Hamm) new wife, Megan. We see Betty's kids struggling to zip her into her dress while Megan easily slips into a cute frock. The juxtaposition marked a major turn from the Betty fans have come to know (if not love).
"Kudos to the writers for finding a way to work January Jones' pregnancy into the story that's a little more cerebral than having her carry a bunch of large bags," PasteMagazine.com cheered. "Instead, they've got Betty struggling with what's undoubtedly her worst nightmare — the loss of her looks."
Later, when Betty goes to her doctor seeking diet pills, she learns she has a lump on her thyroid. The health scare forces her to seek out Don — not her current husband, Henry Francis — to reveal her fears about leaving her children motherless. It was a rare moment of vulnerability and concern from the typically frosty Betty. It did not, however, last long. After a few nail-biting and introspective days, Betty gets the all-clear and, characteristically, views her positive diagnosis not as something to celebrate but instead as evidence that she is "just fat."
It was good while it lasted, according to E! "While there is a possibility of a fatal illness, we see Betty soften. Hug her kids, be nice to her husband, and even weep. Alas, a season-long arc of Betty becoming a saint was not meant to be. But hopefully the residual effects of her near-death experience will carry forward."
By the episode's close, the transition to the new Betty is complete, as she shovels ice cream into her mouth to the tune of "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" from "The Sound of Music."
"Man Men" fans seem pleased that the acclaimed drama's show-runners, writers and Hamm, who directed the episode, finally gave the underused Jones something to do. "Still fixated on fat Betty Draper, almost 12 hours later," @kate_fried wrote. "Genius move, Matt Weiner."
What did you think of Betty's weight gain on "Mad Men"? Let us know in the comments below.

Mark Wahlberg tries to sever ties from his childhood teddy bear, the foul-mouthed Ted.
By Fallon PrinzivalliAs a kid, did you ever wish on a shooting star that the stuffed animal your dad brought you back from his business trip would come to life?
No? Well, Mark Wahlberg did in his new movie "Ted," and to his surprise, his wish was granted.
"Ted" follows John Bennett (Wahlberg) as a 35-year-old still living with Ted, his faithful, vulgar stuffed friend from childhood. As he attempts to move on with his life, Ted continually shows up when he's unwanted — at least by Bennett's girlfriend, Lori (Mila Kunis). The comedy is written and directed by "Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane in his big-screen debut. And if Ted sounds familiar, it's because MacFarlane is also voicing the bear.
Until the film hits theaters on July 13, here are the five key scenes from the restricted "Ted" trailer.
A Chance Meeting
John Bennett knocks Lori over at a club with his unique dance moves. The opening notes of "Sweet Disposition" by the Temper Trap start to play as he touches ice to her head, cueing the sweet montage of things new couples do together in romantic comedies. They have a playful paint war while repainting a bedroom, float blissfully on a lake and it all ends with an "I love you" kiss in bed. Aww. For all the romantics excited at the prospect of another "The Notebook" to drag their significant others to, think again.Thunder Buddies for Life
Enter Ted. Frightened by thunder during a storm, a living teddy bear comes running into Lori and Bennett's room, hops into bed between them and starts singing (along with an equally scared Bennett) the thunder song. The tune is filled with a few choice words, hand motions and sounds that would make a sailor blush — not the usual children's lullaby. He's No Corduroy
In true MacFarlane style, Ted isn't your usual cuddly teddy bear. While our first introduction to Ted is during a colorful rendition of a children's lullaby, our next meeting with the character shows a marijuana-smoking burnout suggesting what sex position Lori may be expecting from Bennett later that night. It seems even teddy bears lose their innocence as they get older.Ted Meets Girl
Ted works at a supermarket and develops a crush on one of his co-workers. When Bennett asks her name, Ted says it's of the "white trash" variety. It leads to a hilarious scene where Wahlberg shows off his Marky-Mark skills, listing off the possible names in a way that might make Busta Rhymes a little jealous.Exit Ted?
The trailer ends with dejected looking Ted walking in a dark alley sipping from a beer bottle. Maybe John Bennett grew up, gave into his girlfriend's request and cut ties with his unusual BFF? Lori can only hope.Check out everything we've got on "Ted."

K. Dot and Dre premiered their new Scoop DeVille-produced single on L.A.'s Power 106 Monday morning.

Photo: Noel Vasquez/ Getty ImagesLooks like Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar have found the perfect ingredients for a new single. On Monday (April 2), K. Dot paid a visit to L.A.'s Power 106 morning show Big Boy's Neighborhood to premiere "The Recipe," his new joint featuring Dr.Dre.
Before playing the record for the first time, Kendrick and Dre explained to Big Boy the meaning behind the breezy tune. " 'The Recipe,' it's one of those things that everyone in the world can relate to," Kendrick said.
Dre called in to the studio to reveal what the three key ingredients to his and Kendrick's recipe are: "The original title was 'Women, Weed and Weather.' That's what represents L.A."
"That's the three things you need in life; that's the recipe you need in life," Kendrick added.
At the start of the Scoop DeVille-produced track, there's a sound-fill of a plane landing, presumably in Kendrick's native L.A. The beat drops immediately after. The simple kick/snare drum pattern sits perfectly underneath a light and airy vocal sample, creating a fitting sound bed for Dre and the Section.80 rapper to ride on.
Dre sets things off spitting, "Every morning when I wake up (uh)/ Money on my mind, go time to get caked up (uh)/ Sunshine coming through my blinds, I'm living but/ Really though, it's never enough, $10 billion, that's a must."
The Good Doctor has spent the bulk of his historic rap career developing a unique gangster/funk sound, which has defined California hip-hop for over two decades, but on "The Recipe" he adjusts to match Kendrick's laid back vibe. Their commonality, however, is the love both share for their city.
With his verse, Kendrick plays tour guide to a visiting friend who came out west for a little relaxation. "Women, weed and weather, it ain't my fault/ That it's 82 degrees and my top peeled off," he rhymes while he pictures himself rolling in a convertible.
Just last month it was announced that Interscope and Dre's Aftermath label inked a joint distribution deal with Top Dawg Entertainment, the independent record company which Kendrick Lamar has been signed to for some years now. Under the terms of the deal TDE, Interscope and Aftermath will release K. Dot's upcoming Good Kid in a Mad City as well as releases from his group Black Hippy, which consists of Kendrick, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul.
Last June, Kendrick sat with MTV News and talked about his relationship with the legendary Dr. Dre. At the time, Lamar hoped that his first collaboration with the iconic beat maker would appear on Dre's continually delayed Detox. Instead, it has come in the form of Kendrick's own single.
"As far as the music, we got a chemistry that's unmatched to me. Alongside with the music, we just talk about stuff, just talk about life in general," Lamar told MTV News. "I think that's why we clash together so perfect, because he sees a good kid in a mad city the same way he grew up. So we can talk about certain situations that he never talked about. I think right there alone, it's a blessing to me — for a personal relationship with him, not just the music."

Defending champions Green Day go head-to-head with Tokio Hotel for the 2012 title ... vote now!
By James Montgomery
Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Tokio Hotel's Bill Kaulitz
Photo: Getty ImagesAfter three weeks, nearly 20 million votes and just as many accusations of cheating from various fanbases, it's come down to this: Green Day and Tokio Hotel (who somehow survived the vast international conspiracy their supporters so adamantly insist exists) will meet for the 2012 MTV Musical March Madness championship.
And much like the actual NCAA final — which sees Kentucky going up against Kansas in a battle of two storied programs — the MMM championship is also fraught with historical implications: Green Day aim to become the first band to repeat as champs, while Tokio Hotel look to finally take home the title that has so far eluded them.
Voting for the 2012 MMM championship is now under way, with polls closing Tuesday at midnight ET ... oh, and much like we did in last year's title game, we're keeping the results secret until Wednesday morning, when we'll crown our champ.
It's a truly epic battle between two bands that have fought long and hard just to make it to this point: As reigning champs, Green Day entered the tourney with a target on their backs, and after pasting lesser foes the Decemberists and Lana Del Rey in the opening rounds, they faced their first true challenge in upset-minded "American Idol" fave James Durbin, who took them down to the wire. That was followed by an epic Elite 8 battle with another "Idol" alum, Adam Lambert, and a shoot-out with MMM heavyweights My Chemical Romance in the Final Four. And though they may be weary, with their run in 2012, Green Day have proven that, like all great champions, there's no foe they'll shy away from and no challenge too big. But do they have enough left in the tank to win one more?
The only thing standing in their way is Tokio Hotel, a band who basically only made the tournament based on their tremendous success in previous years (Final Four in 2010, Elite 8 last year). And they've definitely proven the selection committee's sage-like powers with their run in 2012, blasting everyone in their path. They ripped Arcade Fire and Muse in the first two rounds, destroyed underdogs F---ed Up in the Sweet 16, and then were victorious in a pair of record-busting battles: Besting longtime foes Coheed and Cambria in the Elite 8 and outgunning #1 Evanescence in the Final Four (and we mean outgunning ... there were more than 8 million votes cast in that one alone). Now, they stand on the precipice of their first-ever MMM championship ... they've just got to find a way to get by Green Day. Now if only their fans would stop bugging us about cheating.
Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! So, who will reign supreme: the battle-tested returning champs or the eternal MMM bridesmaids? You can help decide. Voting in our 2012 title game is now under way, and polls close Tuesday at midnight. Oh, and if you're a MCR or Evanescence fan still stinging from those Final Four defeats, well, now's the time to get your revenge. And on Wednesday morning, when the smoke finally clears, we'll know just who is the baddest band in all the land!
MTV's 2012 Musical March Madness tournament has made it to the championship game! Voting runs until midnight ET on Tuesday, April 3, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act is still alive, it'll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — and we'll reveal our 2012 champion on Wednesday morning!

'Little girls can aspire to be anything and that's all I want people to see,' Minaj tells MTV News.
By Rob MarkmanIf Nicki Minaj ever decided to walk away from music, maybe she should consider a second career as a scientist of some sort. Hardly a stranger to experimentation, rap's reigning queen seems to stand as an evolving amalgamation of her quirky fantasy-based creations. Nicki throws the different paints of her colorful imagination up against the wall just to see what sticks, as evidenced on the album cover to her sophomore LP, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
Since she first jumped onto the scene, Nicki has encouraged her dedicated fanbase to live out their wildest dreams. MTV News caught up with the Young Money superstar right after she performed to open the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in February. We asked her what it meant to be ranked in the top five of our annual Hottest MCs in the Game list.
"If there's one thing I want people to take away from it, it's just that little girls can aspire to be anything, and that's all I want people to see," Nicki said between deep breaths, still winded from her energetic All-Star performance. "Whether you follow Nicki Minaj's blueprint or not, just don't be afraid to experiment and don't allow people to knock your hustle just 'cause it ain't something that you're used to seeing."
From her theatrical flow to her outlandish fashion sense, Nicki Minaj has definitely given fans things that they've never seen before. Who can forget when she gave both Jay-Z and Kanye West a lyrical run for their rap money on 2010's "Monster," or Nicki's anime-inspired VMA outfit?
In theory, Nicki's rap success should open the doors for more female MCs to be signed and fill hip-hop's gaping feminine void. Since the Harajuku Barbie's rise to prominence, women rappers like Kreayshawn, Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks have all made notable strides. "That's what I like," Nicki said about her number-four placement on the Hottest MCs list. "I like that I'm there because it gives little girls in Southside Jamaica, Queens, or South Africa or Brazil a moment to say, 'Oh wait, I can be a female rapper!' Yes, you really can."
To celebrate the April 3 release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, we will be examining the "Evolution of Nicki Minaj" throughout the week. Check MTV News every day to see how the Southside Jamaica, Queens, Barbie went from a promising mixtape standout to rap's reigning queen.

Photo: Yasuyoshi Chiba/ AFP/ Getty ImagesFloppy hair? Check. Internet savvy? Check. Less than a year after his death, the life of technology guru and Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs will be honored in an upcoming independent biopic entitled "Jobs" starring Ashton Kutcher.
The TV and movie actor, who bears a striking resemblance to a young Jobs, is slated to begin filming the movie in May during his hiatus from "Two and a Half Men." The plan is to begin production before a rival film, based on writer Walter Isaacson's lauded Jobs biography, gets off the ground. Jobs died on October 5, 2011.
"Jobs" will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern ("Swing Vote") and will chronicle Jobs' rise from a Northern California hippie upbringing to the co-founding of Apple, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Kutcher has a well-established reputation as a romantic comedy actor in films such as "Valentine's Day," "New Year's Eve" and "What Happens in Vegas," but his experience in more dramatic roles is thinner. He's tried his hand a few times, in flicks such as 2004's "Butterfly Effect" and 2006's "Bobby," but has yet to prove that he can carry a lead dramatic role on his own. The filming schedule shouldn't interfere with another technological leap Kutcher has signed up for: a trip to near outer space aboard British billionaire Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic Airlines. Ashton recently plunked down $200,000 to become one of the first 500 passengers to blast off into weightlessness aboard one of the company's space planes, which are expected to begin launching in 2013 or 2014.

Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty ImagesSince first announcing she'd be starring in her own 3-D concert movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me," Katy Perry has kept fans in the loop about the film. In keeping with that routine, she's just revealed the release date for the summer flick.
"My concert documentary is coming out Fourth of July weekend. Go and see it and be a firework!" she told E! News at the Kids' Choice Awards. The film was directed by Magical Elves Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, who also served as producers on Justin Bieber's highly successful "Never Say Never" concert movie.
"The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent church. I started singing and I never really had another plan," she said in a TV spot that began airing over the weekend, which is also full of vintage, behind-the-scenes footage of the singer. After kicking it old-school, a montage of her music videos leads up to colorful concert footage of the singer from her California Dreams Tour.
"If you have a dream, you have to go on a journey to fulfill that dream," she says in the clip. The tease closes out with Perry dressed up as her "T.G.I.F." alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry.
"This film, you're going to see it from my best friend/ buddy perspective, you're going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything," Perry recently told MTV News. "Listen, I've [worked on] most of this film for a very long time and the word 'cheap' was not in the vocabulary," she said. "But, hello, it's 3-D. You're going to get hit with a lot of sh--." To add to the excitement for the movie, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were recently spotted shooting something that will appear in the film.
"That tour was so life-changing to me. I learned so much, I went through so much along the way," Perry said. "I'm not necessarily trying to prove anything to anyone, but not only will people really hands-down know me after they see this film, but you'll see me as the Dorothy wearing the red ruby slipper, and at the end of it all I'm the [Wizard of] Oz as well."

'To get support from like somebody like deadmau5 is really cool,' Beggars' MC Orifice Vulgatron tells MTV News.

Foreign Beggars and 12th Planet
Photo: MTV NewsAfter catching 12th Planet's recent SMOG vs. Basshead show at Mekka in Miami — a steamy hard-hitting bass affair that saw U.K. rappers Foreign Beggars join John Dadzie over the course of his hour-long set — MTV News ventured backstage to catch up with the guys and learn a thing or two.
"They're working on an album right now for Deadmau5's label, so I'm trying to get on the production cred," 12th revealed of his friends from across the pond seated beside him.
"Yeah! We asked you, bruv!," MC Orifice Vulgatron teased. "Where's the beats, fam? Where's the beats, bruv? We've been asking for beats for months, yeah?"
"Well, I started a beat!" 12th laughed back.
"It's all good because I know John's been busy and stuff," Beggars' MC Metropolis offered. "He's been working so hard, for so long, and now that you got some time off, there's no more excuses, isn't it, fam?"
"True!" 12th agreed.
"There's space for three more tracks on the album," revealed OV.
For those not in the know, Foreign Beggars are a hip-hop outfit consisting of MCs Metropolis and OV, producer Dag Nabbit and DJ Nonames. Through their nine-year career in the music game in the U.K., they have swung from hip-hop beginnings to a series of grimey, bassey dubstep releases, working with the likes of Skrillex, Noisia and Flux Pavilion, to name a few. Now the Beggars have been given the official co-sign by Deadmau5 himself: Their fourth album will be released by Mau5trap, likely in May.
"We are from a rap background," OV said, "so us getting recognized by the dance-music world has been something recent. We've always had a passion and done it, but it's only recently that we've really started getting recognition in the EDM scene. And to get the co-sign and the support from somebody like Deadmau5 is really cool."
"I know that Joel [Zimmerman, a.k.a. deadmau5] listens to everything that comes through that label," Metropolis added. "And he was really open-minded and he wanted us to do us. So it's really reassuring to know that guys up there like that are really appreciating all the new forms of music that's coming out. I think that just reflects the ways that all the genres are mixing now, and everyone is listening to everything."
Foreign Beggars' first single, "Palm of My Hand," recently leaked with Kidkanevil on production.
"It's just like an underground rap track," OV said of "POMH." "It's like this wonky post-Dilla production. Mau5trap and them were like, 'Do what you want to do,' so we were like, 'Bang. Let's make some hip-hop.' "
Fans can expect production from , Alix Perez, Burns, Starkey and 12th Planet on Foreign Beggars' fourth album.

Film had the seventh-highest second weekend ever, beating out 'Wrath of the Titans' and 'Mirror Mirror.'
By Ryan J. Downey
Jennifer Lawrence in "Hunger Games"
Photo: Lionsgate"The Hunger Games" devoured "Wrath of the Titans" and "Mirror Mirror" at the box office this weekend. The opening-weekend numbers for the sequel to "Clash of the Titans" and the latest big-screen version of "Snow White" offered little competition to "Games," which made an estimated $61.1 million in North America in its second weekend.
"Wrath of the Titans" opened with just $34.2 million. "Clash of the Titans," a 3-D remake of a 1981 swords-and-shield epic, made nearly double that when it opened two years ago. "Mirror, Mirror" stars Julia Roberts as the evil queen and was #3 at the box office with $19 million.
With its 60 percent drop from its $155 million opening weekend, "The Hunger Games" had the seventh-highest second weekend ever, behind movies like "Avatar" (which starred "Wrath" star Sam Worthington) and "Spider-Man." By most reports "Games" is on track to make at least $350 million domestically. Three "Harry Potter" films and only one "Twilight" entry passed the $300 million mark in the U.S.
"Wrath" had already booked IMAX theaters in advance, which means "The Hunger Games" was only able to play in the pricier format for one week. "Clash of the Titans" premiered over the Easter holiday two years ago and did most of its business overseas. "Wrath" made $78 million in 60 foreign markets. Both movies were slammed by critics: "Wrath" sat at 25 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer at press time; "Clash" at 28 percent.
"Mirror, Mirror" features Lily Collins as Snow White in what's mostly a comedic take on the classic fairy tale. According to Relativity Media, 60 percent of the "Mirror, Mirror" audience were families with children under 12, and 70 percent of those children were girls. Some estimates put the film's budget as high as $100 million. The much more serious "Snow White and the Huntsman" (starring Kristen Stewart as Snow White) is set to be released in June.
"21 Jump Street" was #4 at the box office and seems likely to join the $100 million club next week. The comedic take on the late '80s TV drama about a group of cops who go undercover in high schools dropped just 27 percent to $15 million. The movie has made $93.1 million so far and enjoyed positive reviews from critics. "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" rounded out the top five at the box office with $8 million in its fifth weekend. "Lorax" has made $189.6 million domestically.
The documentary "Bully," which enjoyed a surge of press thanks to the Weinstein Company's decision to release the film unrated, opened in five theaters with a strong per-theater average of $23,000.
This week will see the 3-D re-release of "Titanic" in theaters, doing battle with the fourth theatrically released "American Pie" movie, "American Reunion." Willem Dafoe's "The Hunter" will open in limited release, alongside horror flicks "ATM" and "Detention."
