  • Video Premiere: Pink, 'Try'

Pink is an interpretive dancer in "Try."

It's no secret Pink has been majorly on her grind these past few weeks. Her new disc, The Truth About Love, is her first No. 1 album, beating out other chart-topping heavy hitters like Kanye West and The Killers. In the midst of all that, she's managed to release a video for "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," plus the Eminem-assisted "Here Comes The Weekend," her no BS-jam "Slut Like You," cheeky Lily Allen collabo "True Love," AND she's found the time to duet onstage with Gwen Stefani. NOW after all that, Pink's unleashed her latest video for "Try."  Did we mention she was still A MOM while all of this happened? Ridiculous, we know.

Watch Pink's "Try" video after the jump.

Directed by Floria Sigismondi and choreographed by The Golden Boyz, "Try" is really less a typical music video and more a modern dance routine, but if anyone can pull that off, you know it's Pink. At the top of the clip, we find Pink and a hunky shirtless dancer guy engaging in some rather passionate interpretive dance. The routine looks chaotic, angry, and at times violent, and most importantly, the passion between Pink and her man is absurdly palpable. In fact, things get so heated towards the end that the pair bust out of the house and wind up in the middle of an empty desert covered in colored paint (no clue why, but nice touch!). And then they start throwing chairs at one another, as one does. Well, we don't wanna ruin the ending for you, but suffice it to say that the interpretive "argument" between Pink and her dude definitely calls for some exciting makeup, uhhh, "fun." You know what we mean.

  • Watch MGK Make Grilled Cheese Using An Iron On 'Afterschool Snack' (VIDEO)

MGK makes grilled cheese using an iron. Because f*** your stove.

You know what they say: When life gives you lemons, make a grilled cheese using a hotel iron. Well, proverbially speaking. Because you're gonna learn how to make ironed grilled cheese, aka "the Iron Man," because that's how MGK does things in our second installment of "Afterschool Snack," where your favorite musicians show you how to make their favorite snack.

Watch MGK's "Afterschool Snack" and learn how to make "The Iron Man" grilled cheese after the jump.

I could go on and on about how this next-level cooking-show video is actually a metaphor for MGK's rags-to-riches, never-give-up DIY aesthetic as it relates to his own rise to fame: the "wild boy" who's dropped autobiographical, hard-knocks lines like "Who remembers my broke ass when I had no food for my stomach" on "Hold On" and reverse-boasted " I've been hopeless, I've been broke, done every drug cept' for coke" on fan-fave "Been Through It All" just dropped his star-studded debut album, Lace Up, and now reports directly to Diddy. OK, sure. If you really wanna get deep with it, it's all kind of a tidy parallel... But really, this is about watching the beautiful kinetic insanity that is MGK, in full-on Jim Carrey superhero cartoon mode, dripping hot melted butter down his arm while dropping references to Emeril Lagasse.

You don't need much to follow along at home -- just a simple selection of breads, some butter, a functioning iron, Kool-Aid, and enough sugar to give you type 2 diabetes. And just be glad he didn't whip up some of his favorite Papa Dick Chicken. Cheers!

+ Watch MGK's "Afterschool Snack," and cop that Lace Up debut album.

  • Star Spotting: Fergie Looks Crazy Fierce At The Airport (PHOTO)

Fergie does not forsake fierceness for a flight.

It's been a minute since we've heard anything from Fergie (P.S. we're really sad about that -- come back!), but what better way to say "I've still got it, y'all" than by rocking a ridiculously fierce, head-to-toe red ensemble at LAX airport? It's not to say that airports aren't worthy of having a fashion moment -- in fact, a bunch of our favorite celebs had theirs this year, like Lady Gaga in a frontless shirt, Rihanna's "hand-rolled" shirt, and perhaps most crucially, Justin Bieber's 2pac/Karate Kid/Bruce Springsteen homage -- it's just that leather on a presumably long airplane ride?? That takes some serious chutzpah.

And yes, like you, we're positive that Fergie is flying first class, which will afford her at least six inches of additional leg room. But let's be real here -- everyone knows your body, well, bloats expands on a flight, and sitting in leather pants might not be the most comfortable option after about six minutes. Not to mention the overheating issues! Truth be told, if we were as famous as Fergie, we might just NGAF and rock a full-on spandex onesie for maximum comfort. Or arrive pre-wrapped in a Snuggie. It's like, Fergie already worked her tail off for fame! Can't the girl just relax in some comfortable stretch-wear? Either way, props to Fergie for keeping it chic and risking a potentially uncomfortable plane ride all in the name of fashion.

  • Song Premiere: The Skies Revolt, 'For Your Health'

Even this three-legged dog can't resist The Skies Revolt's perfectly spastic pop-punk gem.

The Grand Rapids, Mich. quartet The Skies Revolt's forecast may have cleared up a bit a few months ago when they were approached by fellow alt-rockers Motion City Soundtrack. Back in April, we spoke to MCS about their new Making Moves project, which is their cool collaboration with Drexel University's MAD Dragon Records that's resulted in a carefully curated set of 7-inch single releases by emerging artists. Well, The Skies Revolt, upon the LARGE insistence from their fans to Motion City Soundtrack's Twitter account, finally got their number called. "For Your Health" is the culmination of all that rallying by the band and fans alike, and it was fully worth it.

Listen to The Skies Revolt's "For Your Health" after the jump.

The Skies Revolt infuse post-punk and power-pop with an electronic edge and somehow reign it all into one sound that makes perfect sense. Case in point: the harmonious, moody mélange of ideas blasting through "For Your Health." There are streaks of the grandiosity of Muse, the straightforward power-rocking of Foo Fighters, the happy-brattiness of Matt And Kim, and the drum patterns and electronics of, well, Motion City Soundtrack. It's no wonder they were given a shot at their own edition of Making Moves -- look for the EP to drop on Oct. 23. Despite their doomsday moniker (Mayan calendar end of days, anyone?), the future looks pretty sunny for The Skies Revolt.

  • Star Spotting: Ke$ha Really IS Crazy Beautiful! (PHOTO)

Ke$ha looks crazy beautiful AND she's writing a book about her crazy beautiful life. See the correlation?

Remember waaay back when Ke$ha was into bedazzling and slapping on glow-in-the-dark paint like it was her job (even though it was her job)? OK, that might have been this year, but apparently K-dollar-sign-ha has been embracing less DIY facial arts and crafts and more of her naturally stunning side. Like, honestly? We dropped two major "WOWZAS!" when we saw her latest leather garb for her "Die Young" video and the goddess-like cover art for the single, and now we're dropping a third because of this flawless GPOY. Ke$ha's new look is our drug!

The Warrior singer snapped a photo of herself looking MEGA GORG and shared it on Twitter along with the Animal-appropriate caption, "meow." And in case lately you've been thinking, "I'd really like to know every detail of Ke$ha's very unique experience about becoming a one-of-a-kind pop star," well, go play the lottery, because you're in luck! Ke$ha just announced she's releasing an illustrated memoir called "My Crazy Beautiful Life" -- which is utterly uncanny, because she looks CRAZY BEAUTIFUL in this photo. We can't wait to pick up a copy of the book in hopes that it divulges the many deep and personal mysteries of our fave pop singer -- like why does she like putting beards in her mouth?! WHYYYYY!?

  • The Buzz On: Krissy Krissy

Get to know Brooklyn songstress Krissy Krissy.

Internet friends! (Because we're all friends here, right?) Meet Krissy Krissy. She's the baby girl out of a family of six (!) who started singing in church (PREACH! CHUUUCH!) as a little tyke. Now, the 23-year-old vocal powerhouse, who landed a featured spot on mtvU's "The Freshman," just dropped her Above All EP, featuring the debut single "Dream," and then followed it up with "Suspicious." Now that's what we call a grind.

Listen to Krissy Krissy after the jump.

In case you weren't sufficiently impressed, every song on Above All was cowritten by Krissy Krissy. Tracks like "Broken Glass" showcase Krissy's sultry vocals (we're feeling some Mary J. Blige soul vibes mixed with some Natasha Bedingfield flair and even a little Mary Mary gospel realness), while her scrappy "Suspicious" video proves that she go all Carrie Underwood on anyone who mistreats her. Perhaps most important, Krissy's song "Dream" shines a light on her dream of making it big some day -- wait, actually, more like making it big right now.

  • Buzzworthy Obsession: William Beckett, 'Stuck In Love,' Featuring Ryan Ross

William Beckett's got your new breakup anthem right here. It's called "Stuck In Love."

Late pass alert! William Beckett's Ryan Ross-assisted "Stuck In Love" has been out more than a week, and we're not exactly sure how we slept on it! (Though we do really love napping... but it's NO excuse!) Better late than never right? Right, because the important thing is we've listened to this song so many times that we might as well have heard it last week.

Listen to William Beckett's "Stuck In Love," featuring Ryan Ross after the jump.

Slated to appear on his upcoming EP, What Will Be, the ex-The Academy Is frontman gets together with ex-Panic! At The Disco's Ryan Ross (it's like an ex party!) to sing about the awful crap everyone goes through during a breakup: "Stuck in love with you/Take a look at what you got me into/The paralyzing truth/Is living even one minute without you/Is a moment I'd rather not have to live to see."

Unlike William Beckett's sunnier, more pop-centric "Compromising Me," "Stuck In Love" is an electrified, elastic rock song that wouldn't be out of place in The Killers' catalog. Or The Faint's, for that matter. It seethes with regret and resentment, which is fine with us considering we've been on the hunt for an angrier breakup anthem! Because when you're really pissed, Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" just might not cut it.

  • 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs Of The Week: Girls Aloud Reunion Edition

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

Three years ago, life got cold when Girls Aloud announced they were going on hiatus. Now -- as confirmed by a countdown that just popped up on their website this morning -- the almighty troupe (and the closest girl group torchbearers for the Spice Girls legacy) are officially coming back. While I slowly rock back and forth in my room with a Girls Aloud singles collection box set clutched tightly in my arms awaiting their imminent return, I thought I'd highlight just some of the Aloud's brightest moments (don't make me pick a favorite -- talk about Sophie's Choice.) Soon, we'll have even more to celebrate in 10 days. Aloud Forever!

    1.) "Sound of The Underground"
The song that started it all: Filled with twangy '60s surf guitar, skittering drums, and sultry come-ons that just won't quit ("Disco dancing with the lights down low..."), "Sound of the Underground" sounded less like an early '00s radio hit and more like Nancy Sinatra being thrust into the U.K. drum 'n' bass scene. And yet, it worked: The song shot to No. 1 on the charts -- their first of 20 consecutive Top 10 hits over the next seven years -- removing the title of "Reality TV Competition Winners" from their name and formally positioning the Aloud as THE girl group to beat for the next decade.

+ LISTEN TO "SOUND OF THE UNDERGROUND"

Listen to more Must-Hear Girls Aloud songs after the jump.

    2.) "Graffiti My Soul"
From the very first gritty guitar strum in the song's opening seconds, "Graffiti My Soul" is an instant Aloud classic. Included on their 2004 sophomore record What Will The Neighbours Say? (and originally offered to Britney Spears for In The Zone back in 2003, which sadly never came to be!), the track is a nonstop explosion of ferocious declarations ("Spike heels and skintight jeans/ I got a fist full of love that's coming your way, baby!") and genius kiss-offs ("Your kisses taste of cyanide/ and that's no good for me!") on top of an adrenaline-inducing strut. "Graffiti My Soul" saw the girls coming into their own, wielding sharp stilettos -- and even sharper tongues.

+ LISTEN TO "GRAFFITI MY SOUL"

    3.) "Biology"
"Biology" may not be the single greatest song of Girls Aloud's discography, but it could possibly be their most defining: Packed full of nonsense lyrics ("I got one Alabama return that'll take me far away from you"...WHAT?!), propulsive drums, and enough Xenomania-produced hooks to craft about 10 brilliant pop songs, the track completely embodies their signature style. It's fiercely catchy, and like so many of their classics, the song's structure is (brilliantly) erratic. By 2006, the Girls Aloud brand was firmly established. You can't mistake their biology.

    + LISTEN TO "BIOLOGY"

    4.) "Call The Shots"
By the time the Almighty Aloud released "Call The Shots" in 2007, the girls were already on their 17th single of their career. And then, they raised the bar yet again -- or rather, the bet: "Just 'cause you're raising the bet and call the shots now/ It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time," the girls croon atop the song's hypnotizing electronic pulse. Every millisecond of this song is an exercise in pop perfection, from the heaven-sent coos in the distance, to the endlessly catchy chorus, to Nicola's heartbreaking bridge. "Call The Shots" isn't just one of the (many) highlights of Girls Aloud's stellar career -- it's one of the best pop songs of the past decade.

+ LISTEN TO "CALL THE SHOTS"

    5.) "Untouchable"
And finally, the song that deserved so, so much more: Released back in 2009, "Untouchable" was the Almighty Aloud's first time ever charting outside the Top 10, and cruelly, with one of their most stunning songs to date. The 6-minute opus is nothing short of a masterpiece, gliding across wintry electronica and surging synthesizers. "Through wind and rain we got here..." Nicola tenderly begins. From there, it's nothing but endless chills and sob-inducing lyricism ("Without any meaning, we're just skin and bone/Like beautiful robots dancing alone" -- TEARS!) This song alone is the reason why the Aloud are simply unmatched.

    + LISTEN TO "UNTOUCHABLE"

Bradley Stern is a writer from Connecticut. In his spare time, he enjoys organizing his Britney Spears CD collection in reverse chronological order and writing impassioned letters to Congress urging that Madonnalogy be taught in all public schools. But most of all, he spends his time tweeting musing daily about pop music on his blog, MuuMuse.
