  • 'Scary Movie 5' Casts Mike Tyson, Even More Reality TV B-Listers

    Scary Movie 5

"Scary Movie 5" seems to have gathered together every celebrity we never expected to see in one movie together.

The latest to join the cast of the long-running comedy franchise are Mike Tyson, Audrina Patridge and Kendra Wilkinson. Blackfilm.com reports that the trio will join the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Ashley Tisdale, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Heather Locklear and Kate Walsh in the horror film spoof. Like we said, this isn't a cast that you see every day.

We've already seen Lohan and Sheen in bed together (literally) in the new film, so we know that this project isn't afraid to mock its talent if need be. But considering this impressive line-up of actors we don't take especially seriously, we're wondering who is even left for director Malcolm Lee to add to this project?

The easiest answer is Mel Gibson. We know he and Sheen are sort of two sides to the same crazy coin right now -- and we know that Gibson is already playing a similarly off-the-wall part in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills" -- but we would love nothing more than to see him pop up in this new movie. Maybe toss in Kathy Griffin or Matthew Perry (goodness but we're still so sick of hearing about "Go On") for good measure, and then round out the celebrity pot with a healthy dose of Courtney Stodden, and Lee will have himself a cast that will go down in the annals of "Scary Movie" history.

"Scary Movie 5" comes out April 19, 2013.

  • 'Red Dawn' Clip: North Korea (Definitely Not China) Invades!

    Red Dawn

If you've seen the original 1984 "Red Dawn," you probably know it as an over-the-top, darker-than-you'd-think anti-Commie wonder. The remake starring Josh Peck, Chris Hemsworth, and Adrianne Palicki sticks pretty close to the original set-up, but adds a more modern, more Michael Bay-inspired action aesthetic.

The first clip from "Red Dawn" demonstrates that perfectly, showing us the more explosive version of the North Korean invasion, which used to be a Chinese invasion until that no longer made sense economically.

  • In Honor of Justin Bieber: Top 10 Puking Scenes in Film

    Bieber

    By Joel Hanek

This weekend the world was rocked by the shocking news that Justin Bieber is not actually a cyborg sent by the Canadians to steal our hearts but is, in fact, a mortal man. As evidence by the internet, an ill Bieber performed in Glendale, Arizona and taking a cue from G. G. Allin vomited halfway through his set right on stage. The Biebs assured us he's doing fine via his Twitter account and the cinephile singer tweeted an "Anchorman" reference shortly after the ordeal to prove he is in good spirits.

In celebration of Justin Bieber's love for movies and feeling better, here are the top 10 vomit scenes in film, according to some random guy on the internet.

    10) "I Heart Huckabees"
In this David O. Russell cult-classic, a broken-down Jude Law comes to terms with his douche-ness in this manifestation of illness.

    1/5 BIEBERS

    Bieber

    9) "The Sixth Sense"
Marissa Cooper – I mean, Mischa Barton – got her breakthrough role scaring the crap out of Haley Joel Osment by vomiting all over his awesome fort.

    2/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieber

    8) The 40-Year-Old Virgin"
Leslie Mann's hilariously (and dangerously) steals the scene from Steve Carrell in the classic Apatow comedy – you'll never think of shellfish the same way.

    2/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieber

    7) "I Love You, Man"
Paul Rudd is the most charismatic plan on the planet, even when he's vomiting on Jon Favreau.

    3/5 BIEBERS

    6) "Team America: World Police"
This particular scene from "Team America" may clock in as the longest of the bunch. Projectile vomiting marionettes – what will they think of next? The future is today.

    3/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieberBieber

    5) "Stand By Me"
Although it's an epic waste of pie, it's a perfection illustration of the surrealism and hyperbole of campfire stories.

    4/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieberBieberBieber

    4) "The Sandlot"
"The Sandlot" edges out it's kindred spirit "Stand By Me" only because it's the best anti-chewing tobacco advertisement in a movie ever.

    4/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieberBieberBieber

    3) "Bridesmaids"
Perhaps the best comedy of 2011, "Bridesmaids" is a wonderful combination of high-brow and low-brow. Guess which one this is?

    4/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieberBieberBieber

    2) "The Fly"
Way before David Cronenberg became BFF's with Robert Pattinson he was already in the habit of making handsome men do terrible things. Watch Jeff Goldblum vomit on himself and his friends!

    5/5 BIEBERS

    BieberBieberBieberBieberBieber

    1) "The Exorcist"
Perhaps the most iconic vomiting scene in cinema, this movie will scare children and hurt pea soup sales for generations to come.

  • Adam Sandler Continues Box Office Domination With 'Hotel Transylvania'

    Hotel

    FROM MTV NEWS

Even in a disappointing time of the year for the box office, one tried and true rule remains intact: Adam Sandler knows how to bring people out to the theater.

His new computer animated comedy, "Hotel Transylvania," broke September records, taking in $43 million in its debut week. That's the highest debut ever for the month, a record previously held by Reese Witherspoon and her 2002 rom-com, "Sweet Home Alabama."

Rian Johnson's "Looper" opened with a respectable $21.2 million off of a $30 million budget, a modest sum for a sci-fi thriller. The film also received a nice boost from a simultaneous open in China, the country that co-produced "Looper."

  • Famke Janssen On Facing Critics With Her Directorial Debut 'Bringing Up Bobby'

Famke Janssen is most well-known for her roles as a femme fatale in Peirce Brosnan's first movie as 007, "GoldenEye," as Jean Grey in the "X-Men" movies, and as Liam Neeson's wife in "Taken," but most recently, she's turned her sights toward writing and directing, something she's been passionate about for 15 years.

Her first film, "Bringing Up Bobby," which stars Milla Jovovich, Bill Pullman, and Marcia Cross, opens in limited release tomorrow, and Janssen spoke with MTV News' Josh Horowitz about the pressures that come with finally revealing her personal work to the public.

"There are many mixed feelings going on because it took about five years from beginning to end, coming up with the idea, writing the story, getting the cast together, the financing, which was the biggest headache, as you can imagine, especially during an economic depression," Janssen said. "Traveling the world to festivals with it and now finally it coming out in New York, which of course is my city. This is where I live. It's fantastic."

The next step for Janssen will be facing what the critics have to say, something she has had trouble with in the past. "I never read reviews, and I stopped that early on, when I was called everything from 'a black hole' to I don't know what else," she said. "I learned my lesson pretty early on, and I should do the same thing now, but everything keeps getting sent to me. I can't help once in a while. I peek at something that's written about it. The reviews haven't come out yet, so who knows? I should know better, and I should stay away."

Back when Janssen was just on the cusp of breaking out as an actress, she considered giving up acting for film school. It just so happened that she got her role in "GoldenEye" shortly after being accepted into AFI for screenwriting. Since then, she's been looking for a way back. "So I wrote a couple of screenplays, got them out of my system. They were terrible," she said. "Thank God, I did that first. Then I wrote 'Bringing Up Bobby, and it took forever to try to get this thing off the ground, but it ended up finally being the one that I finally got made. Hopefully, the next one will be a little less painful, but probably not."

  • Martin Freeman Joins Edgar Wright's 'The World's End'

    The World's End

Edgar Wright is bringing the whole gang back together in his final "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" film, "The World's End."

An official press release has gone out announcing that production has started on the movie and offering up the full cast for the flick. In addition to Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, we've learned that Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike have joined the project as well.

Consider us thrilled about this Freeman news. Fans will know that he's been a regular in Wright's trilogy, having a small but memorable part as Declan in "Shaun of the Dead" and playing the Met sergeant who transfers Pegg's character to the country in "Hot Fuzz." We can only imagine what role he'll play here. Hopefully he'll end up getting a little more screentime than he did in the past, considering he's moved up a bit in the world thanks to leading roles in "The Hobbit" and BBC's "Sherlock."

The press release includes an official synopsis of "The World's End," elaborating what we already know about it.

"In 'The World's End,' 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again," the synopsis reads. "They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries."

  • 'Looper': Five Reasons You Have To See It

    Looper

There are probably a lot of people on the internet today telling you that you have to see "Looper." How did we know this, you ask? It's because anyone who has seen "Looper" will undoubtedly feel the need to spread the word of its sheer awesomeness, and we are no different.

Here are the five reasons you must see "Looper."

    Joseph Gordon-Willis
One of the strongest elements in "Looper" is how realistic Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes the film's main conceit. By ten minutes in, we are no longer watching JGL in weird Bruce Willis makeup. Instead, we're enjoying Young Joe, who looks a lot like Old Joe, who happens to be played by Bruce Willis. Perhaps the best compliment we can pay JGL's performance is that it only adds to a brilliant concept and a near flawless execution without ever pulling us out of the experience.

    Time Travel Logic and Conversations
In "Looper," Bruce Willis' Old Joe aggressively pushes aside any conversation about the semantics of time travel, but that isn't going to stop you and your friends from trying to parse out the logic behind Rian Johnson's world. The director claims his has a rules-based system for how his time travel works, but the intricacies of the plot don't make that explicitly clear. There is lots to discuss here after you leave the theater, or you can take Old Joe's advice, sit back, and enjoy one hell of a good movie.

    That Creepy Kid
A young actor by the name of Pierce Gagnon plays a central role in "Looper" that never appears in the trailer and for good reason. The story of his character, Sid, has remained a secret thanks to a well thought out marketing campaign. Suffice it to say that because of Sid, Pierce has entered the pantheon of creepy cinematic children. From his too-intelligent line delivery to his big cheeks, the kid has all the hallmarks of a truly terrifying ten year-old.

    Rian Johnson, Next Big Thing
Since 2005, Johnson has made three genre-bending films and with each has taken some of cinema's most tired tropes and alchemized something truly original. While each movie succeeded on its own terms, "Looper" will be the film that jettisons the director into the realm of the "highly sought after director." This is Johnson's "Batman Begins." You've been warned.

    Garret Dillahunt
Dillahunt has made a career for himself as a character actor who enters a wide variety of films in small roles, never stays around for too long, but always makes them immeasurably better movies. "Looper" is no exception. That is all we'll say.

Are you seeing "Looper" this weekend? If so, let us know what you think in the comments below and on Twitter!
