    Django Unchained

Over on MTV News, we spent the morning unpacking the new "Django Unchained" poster, because, quite frankly, we can't get enough of it.

For the second domestic preview, Quentin Tarantino had our curiosity, and then he upped the spaghetti western. Now he has our attention. The trailer showed segments from Broomhilda's story, as well as, Django's climactic gun fight.

We've broken down the trailer to our most talked-about moments, so take a look after the jump!

  • Watch Steven Spielberg And Daniel Day-Lewis' Lengthy 'Lincoln' Q&A

    Lincoln

Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis are taking "Lincoln" to the streets.

The pair recently held a 42-minute-long question and answer session in New York Wednesday that streamed on Yahoo! and in select theaters around the country. "They talked about everything and anything related to the upcoming movie, including Day-Lewis's initial hesitation to take on the project.

"It seemed like such a preposterous idea to me, outlandish idea, to take on that work, so I fled," Day-Lewis recounted. "Reading Tony [Kushner]'s script, I could see objectively that it was something to be done by somebody else probably. I didn't honestly feel like I was capable of doing that work."

Clearly that isn't the case. We've known since the first glimpse of Day-Lewis as Lincoln that he was the right man for the job and that Spielberg had picked well. Day-Lewis has a certain skill of dissolving into his roles, so we knew it wouldn't take long to no longer see the "There Will Be Blood" actor and instead only see Honest Abe. And we were right.

The trailer for "Lincoln" shows that Day-Lewis has nailed the character of Lincoln, so it's funny to hear that he had so much hesitancy about taking the role. Since we doubt Spielberg dropped the ball on the telling of this story, "Lincoln" could end up being the most honest take on Abraham Lincoln's life story that we've ever seen on the big screen. That's something to look forward to.

"Lincoln" hits theaters on November 16,

  • Chris Hemsworth Offered $10 Million To Be An 'American Assassin'

    Hemsworth

    By Carolyn Amurao

A movie franchise of Vince Flynn's bestselling novel series is finally kicking off with "American Assassin," Deadline reports, and Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth is sought to play terrorist hunter Mitch Rapp. CBS Films has offered $10 million to Hemsworth, who has recently starred in big titles such as "Thor," "The Avengers," and "Snow White and the Huntsman." Action star Bruce Willis could also join the cast as Rapp's CIA mentor.

The film will be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who co-wrote "The Day After Tomorrow" and has directed episodes of Showtime's "Homeland." The most recent script draft was written by Mike Finch ("Predators"), while the CBS Films' Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers") and Nick Wechsler are onboard as producers.

"American Assassin" will be the big screen adaptation of the 11th book of the espionage series. In the novel, Rapp is a talented college athlete, who has not yet become a CIA super-agent. He is recruited after a terrorist attack, which leads him to an intense six months of training. Then, once embarking to Istanbul and Europe to battle the rise of Islamic terrorism, he establishes himself as the deadliest of killers.

Can Hemsworth deliver the goods? We'll have to wait and see. Even though he has enjoyed recent blockbuster success, "American Assassin" will really be an opportunity for him to shine as the leading man. Exciting roles in a "Thor" sequel, as well as, "Robopocalypse" (directed by Steven Spielberg) are also coming up for the actor. After that, the rumored sequels of "The Avengers" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" should keep him.

"City of Bones" tells the story of 15-year-old Clary Fray (Collins), a Brooklyn teenager who gets thrust into the world of the supernatural after she discovers she's half-human, half-angel. She's finds herself in the world of the Shadowhunters, a group of people like herself who protect the world from ghoulish creatures like vampires and werewolves, and becomes increasingly attracted to fellow Shadowhunter Jace Wayland (Bower).

"It's really a story that's based in reality as much as it is in this fantasy world. They're coexisting," Collins told MTV News. "It's more emotionally and character-based than just aesthetically beautiful. It's got amazing imagery and the CGI is going to be incredible, but it's not just about that."

  • So That Damon-Renner 'Bourne' Team-Up Probably Isn't Happening

    Renner

    By Colin Greten

Although he has not completely ruled out the possibility of it, Matt Damon does not seem to be interested in doing another "Bourne" movie.

Damon made the franchise, playing the title character in three installments that were all very successful, and then Jeremy Renner took over as a new main character in last summer's "Bourne Legacy," which was decently successful with writer/director Tony Gilroy at the helm.

The original "Bourne" leading man, however, does not want to interfere with the story of the newest film as he explained, "From what I understand it kind of relives ["The Bourne Ultimatum"] from a different perspective" and "whatever they said [in "Legacy"] is true and so we'd have to acknowledge it in any Bourne movie that we'd do. And that makes it really tough."

Despite not seeing "The Bourne Legacy" yet, Damon still thinks that with Jason Bourne finding out his real identity in "The Bourne Ultimatum" it would be "a real struggle to extend the franchise."

He has also stated that he will not do another "Bourne" without "Bourne Supremacy" and "Bourne Ultimatum" director Paul Greengrass, who is not attached to any future projects in the franchise at the moment.

"Legacy" producer Frank Marshall said before the film's release that he had hoped, "in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up." However, this hope appears to be long gone, as Marshall has already confirmed that the next film will continue to follow Renner and Rachel Weisz's characters and Tony Gilroy (not Paul Greengrass) is attached as director.

Matt Damon would only play Jason Bourne again under the right circumstances, and the franchise does not appear ready to make that happen as it moves on to its next installment.

  • Djimon Hounsou's 'Special Forces' Shoot May Have Been His 'Toughest'

    Djimon Hounsou

    By Ryan Rigley

There have been a number of films based in or around Afghanistan in recent years, but none comes remotely close to the cold, hard realism that is "Special Forces." Starring Djimon Hounsou as Kovax, the leader of an elite team, and Diane Kruger as Elsa, a French journalist that gets kidnapped by the Taliban, "Special Forces" cuts straight to the core of terrorism and its effects on other countries.

"It was probably one of the toughest films, for me, that I've ever made," Djimon Hounsou said during a recent interview with MTV News. "I have yet to come across anything that would surpass this." Click past the jump for more from our interview with Djimon Hounsou!

"We had to stay in groups," Hounsou recalled on his time shooting "Special Forces." "I never adventured off of the set. The set was pretty much home." With most of the film taking place on the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, both the cast and crew had to be very cautious of their surroundings at all times, but the Taliban wasn't the only thing that they had to look out for.

"This was probably one of the most treacherous terrains I have ever taken," Hounsou said about the journey to set. "If you make one false move and one of your wheels gets off the line, you'll find yourself a mile to two miles deep down the cliff. And that was a 19-hour drive." One can only imagine what it must have been like to shoot a movie under such stressful conditions.

"I had to take two weeks of training," Hounsou said about his preparation for the role. "How to take on a mission, how to break into a place, how to travel at night, how to take a hostage in the heat of the moment and, when you're surrounded, how to cocoon yourself in order to defend yourself." All of which comes pretty standard for the Green Berets, the armed forces that helped train Hounsou and his fellow cast members.

"We were literally wearing military outfits the whole time. Day-in and day-out," continued Hounsou. "I'd go to bed with it, you know. Almost like a soldier. And you start to think almost like that. You find that you enter rooms in a different fashion. You look at things differently. You approach people differently." This mindset is certainly apparent when watching Hounsou's character, Kovax, on screen; effortlessly commanding leadership and acting as the glue that holds his team together.

In the end, all of that hard work and training definitely paid off. Djimon Hounsou and his co-stars flawlessly embody the Special Forces team for which the film is named, drawing raw emotion and energy from a thoroughly interesting story. "Yes, it was pretty intense," Hounsou said. "Thank god I had a great background in martial arts and boxing for many years before I started this career."

"Special Forces" opens in limited release October 12.

  • What Secrets Does The 'Prometheus' Blu-ray Hold?

    Prometheus

    FROM FILM.COM

The fine folks over at Film.com jetted off to London to talk "Prometheus" with a few of the people behind the movie in time for its Blu-ray release.

The team offered a ton of insight, including this gem from production designer, Arthur Max."

"We'd always toyed with the idea of terraforming within the pyramid," said Max. "The scientists mistakenly take the idea that the whole place is a kind of atmospheric condenser to create life. That's the wrong impression. It really is a military weapons station manufacturing creature bombs to wipe us all out because we are a miscreant race of humanoids and a threat to the galaxy. Or it's a cautionary tale about, "Don't mess with genetic engineering, this is what can go wrong." We're doing that ourselves currently. The hubris of playing God. That's partly what we're about."

Head over to Film.com to read to full recap of the trip!

"Prometheus" is out on Blu-ray and DVD now.
