- 'Evil Dead' Remake Teaser Gives Us What We Want
The teaser for tomorrow's "Evil Dead" trailer promises us that this movie is going to scare the crap out of us. Well, consider us officially teased, because we're dying for this movie to show us what terror really means.
The video, released via the "Evil Dead" Facebook page, combines footage from the movie's panel at New York Comic-Con with scenes from the actual film. And while we don't get to see the money shot released last week, at least we do get a look at the Book of the Dead.
We're hoping that tomorrow's trailer is going to give us a taste of the movie's brand of horror that caused Bruce Campbell to say that the film is going to have "ratings problems out the butt." Even if we don't see all of "Evil Dead's" gory glory, we're likely in for a lot of blood.
"I think it's going to be worse than an R," leading lady Jane Ley told MTV News at NYCC. "There's a lot of blood. There's so much blood that the blood got stuck in my ear and I had a terrible ear infection when I was there and couldn't hear for three weeks."
Sounds delightful. "Evil Dead" hits theaters on April 12.

Переслать - James Brown Biopic Gets Producers Like Jagger
Brian Grazer's dream of making a James Brown biopic seems like it's actually becoming a reality.
Deadline has learned that Grazer is teaming with Mick Jagger to produce a movie about Brown's life. "The Help" director Tate Taylor will helm the project based on a script written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.
With those important parts in place, Grazer still needs to find a distributor for the project and an actor who looks and can sing like Brown. The movie will be a co-production between Jagged Films and Imagine Entertainment.
"It's a great honor to be involved with a project as rich as the story of the legendary James Brown," Jagger said in a statement to Deadline. "He was a mesmerizing performer with a fascinating life."
In another statement, Grazer called Brown "one of the most electric, exciting stage performers of all time."
Before his passing in 2006, Brown was "an active part in its development." Now his family will pick up where he left off, and have said that they have entered into "a partnership" with Grazer to "bring his inspirational story to the big screen." Consider us intrigued.
According to Deadline, this currently untitled movie "charts a young boy's rise from extreme poverty and violence to become The Godfather Of Soul, one of the most influential black artists in history whose career spanned six decades." Grazer, Jagger and the rest of the film's team will be hard-pressed to find someone who's voice lives up to that great legacy.

Переслать - See All Of The 'Cloud Atlas' Transformations In This New Featurette
As the raves roll in for "Cloud Atlas," the latest effort from the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer, it may all seem a bit overwhelming if you haven't seen the multi-storied mash-up of races and genders. It's all a little confusing to the common outsider. What does appeal to everyone, however, is seeing Halle Berry as an Asian man. That's something just about everyone would be interested in seeing.
In the latest behind-the-scenes featurette for "Cloud Atlas," the actors at the center of this craziness share their experiences on set and how playing multiple actors shaped the making of the film.
It's a fascinating watch even if you have no interest in seeing the film. There's certainly something unique and different going on here that is hard to ignore.

Переслать - 'Django Unchained' Trailer Suits Up For A Shootout
It has taken a few trailers to come to this conclusion, but we feel fairly confident saying that "Django Unchained" is going to be a violent movie.
Obviously, we have Exhibit A: Quentin Tarantino. There was ever little doubt that the master of genre mashup knows how to punch up his films with some gore, but "Django Unchained" had yet to show its more gruesome side.
That is until Exhibit B, a new international trailer (via The Playlist), show up online today. The preview takes a closer look at the massive shootout at the end of the film, something we've only just started to see in more recent trailers.
When you watch the trailer, notice how the bullets hit. There are explosions. Awesome explosions of fun.
"Django Unchained" opens on December 25.

Переслать - 'Paranormal Activity 5': Our Three Wishes
This past weekend, a bunch of people went to go see the new "Paranormal Activity" movie and for good reason. The series has delivered low-budget scares like clockwork for the past four years, and with the "Paranormal 3" directors back on board, the fourth entry had great potential built right into it from the word "go."
Now you might disagree with us, but we imagined "Paranormal Activity 4" going in a slightly different direction. While we're definitely not giving up on the series, there are three things that we're hoping to see when Toby comes back in "Paranormal Activity 5."
Read on after the jump!
Bring Back the Fan Cam
We're not talking about literally bringing back the wonderfully gimmicky trick from "Paranormal Activity 3" that left us anxiously waiting to see what might appear when the camera turned back to the kitchen. (For the record, we wouldn't say "no" to that.) What we want is the principle that drove us to the fan cam. When the formula for a popular series of film is as specific as it is for "Paranormal Activity," tweaking those elements and expanding upon them from entry to entry becomes the only means of innovation. After two movies, we need a mechanism that would get that camera moving and create empty space for a ghoul to fill when we weren't looking. It was smart and fun and directly addressed a limitation of the format and used that it create something new. Let's get something like that again.Go Bigger, Not Smaller
When we spoke with director's Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, they admitted that "Paranormal 4" was a deliberate step down in scale from the third. "I think you have to restrain yourself too. Most franchises get more and more ridiculous," Schulman said. "This one's kind of more held back than 'Paranormal 3.' " While there's something to be said for reassessing scale when a franchise gets too narratively bloated or CGI-saturated, that' s not where "Paranormal" was after three movies. "Paranormal 3" opened our eyes to bigger possibilities. It didn't make us long for "Paranormal 2" or the original. Choosing to step back when they did made the shift feel more like a downgrade than a return to the basics.Mythology Matters
One big step toward extending the life of the series was the introduction of the larger mythos at play behind what seemed to be at first a random haunting. We gradually found out that this wasn't just a demon set on bugging the crap out of Katie and Kristi. He had a purpose—and a name. As Toby developed, the scope of the story grew with him. Each installment became about more than a series of scares; every movie drops hints of the real story and built a world around all of the activity. "Paranormal Activity 4" not only gave us no new information, but it essentially ended in the same spot as "Paranormal 2," a movie from 2010.What do you want to see in "Paranormal Activity 5"? Переслать - James Bond And Q Get Reacquainted In 'Skyfall' Clip
You should know that when Q and 007 are talking about an old ship in the National Portrait Gallery during the latest clip from "Skyfall," they're not actually talking about a ship. It's deeper than that.
The brand new clip, which debuted online over at Yahoo! Movies, shows off the introduction of Ben Whishaw's Q, a lean, meaner, tech-ier version of the character made famous by Desmond Llewelyn.
As Daniel Craig's is a different breed Bond, Whishaw's Q has been brought into the 21st century. Gone are the gadget, replaced with a laptop, hacking skills, and an attitude to go with them.
Check out the clip after the jump!
As you can see in the clip, Bond and Q don't exactly see eye-to-eye, but there's always a playfulness to their bickering. As Q, Whishaw brings a sharper edge to the character and isn't afraid to call Bond on his brutal line of work.
The clip also alludes to another unique aspect of "Skyfall." Bond isn't at the top of his game. Much like Bruce Wayne after his return in "The Dark Knight Rises," it takes some time for Bond to get back into fighting shape. Q thinks he's past his prime, but Bond has a different opinion.
You see, because Bond is the old ship. It's a metaphor. Because he's old. Get it?
"Skyfall" opens in theaters on November 9 with IMAX screenings starting the day before.

Переслать - Stephen Colbert Confirmed For 'Hobbit' Cameo
As far as celebrities go, no one comes close to Stephen Colbert's Tolkien fanaticism. (For further evidence, just watch this video of Colbert drop some knowledge on James Franco at the 4 minute mark.)
So that's why it couldn't be more appropriate that the leader of Colbert Nation will be making a cameo appearance in one of the "Hobbit" films. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed a rumor that Colbert began himself in the pages of Playboy.
"Peter Jackson invited me to the set last year," Colbert told the men's magazine. "I flew out and watched them shoot some scenes and went to some locations. I saw a 25-minute cut, and it was amazing. Jackson knows I'm a big fan of the films."
When asked if he made it into the movie, Colbert replied, "Could be."
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a while before seeing Colbert in his Middle-earth form. He will not be appearing in "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," but one of the other two films. That means we'll have to wait until December 2013 at the very earliest.
There's no word yet on who Colbert will play when he does make his appearance, but we have our fingers crossed for an ethereal elf. That would suit him nicely.

Переслать - David Oyelowo To Headline Sugar Ray Robinson Biopic
David Oyelowo is sticking with historical figures by moving on to a biopic about Sugar Ray Robinson following his upcoming role in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."
The "Red Tails" actor has a number of exciting upcoming projects, including the Tom Cruise-starring "Jack Reacher" and Lee Daniels-directed "The Butler." But we're now particularly excited about the fact that Oyelowo is going to star as Robinson in the upcoming flick "Sweet Thunder," which is based on the Wil Haygood biography "Sweet Thunder: The Life and Times of Sugar Ray Robinson."
This news comes at us from Deadline, who reports that Haygood wrote a script that "Moneyball" producer Rachael Horovitz and "Game Change" writer Danny Strong will produce. Oyelowo will also act as executive producer.
Apparently this all came together on the set of "The Butler." Strong wrote that movie with Daniels based on a Washington Post article Haygood had written called "A Butler Well Served by This Election," and Strong, Haygood and Oyelowo got to talking about making a movie about Robinson. Deadline reports that Strong might rewrite Haywood's "Sweet Thunder" script depending on who the director is.
Of everyone in Hollywood right now, Oyelowo is definitely a great choice for this role. He looks a good amount like Robinson and has also got the man's physique, though it will likely will still be hard for him to get into boxing shape. It helps that Oyelowo is a great actor, and his slate of upcoming films should boost him in the public's awareness. Consider us intrigued by "Sweet Thunder." Who knows, maybe Daniels will even come on board to make this something of a "The Butler" sequel.
