Переслать - Star Spotting: Miley Cyrus Looks Flawless At Any Angle, Performs At City Of Hope Honors Gala (PHOTOS)
Miley Cyrus gives her best "over the shoulder" pose while attending the City Of Hope Gala in Los Angeles.
If you thought Miley Cyrus was only super photogenic when posing with props like her mom, adorbz puppies, or her perfect fiancé -- you were wrong! Girl can do a solid "over the shoulder" solo pose like a pro. Time to face the facts guys: Miley is flawless at any angle.
The "Lilac Wine" singer recently attended the City of Hope Spirit Of Life Gala in Los Angeles looking absolutely stunning, and because Miley is the sweetest person ever, she even sang for the party. Don't fret -- she still maintained her reign of flawlessness every second on stage.
Check out more pictures of Miley Cyrus at the City Of Hope Spirit Of Life Gala after the jump!
Miley's performance also honored Halston CEO Ben Malka for his generous donation to the City Of Hope foundation. On a side note, we kinda have to admit that we just don't know what to expect from Miley's new album anymore! One minute she's looking all calm, cool, and collected in a flowing Temperley outfit at an elegant gala, and the next minute we're hearing she's getting crazy on set with Liam in her next music video -- WE JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK!! But there are two things we can pretty much always count on with Miley: 1.) She's just bein' Miley and 2.) We will always want her life. ALWAYS.
Oh, she's just being Miley -- i.e. looking DROP DEAD FLAWLESS.

Переслать - New Song: Wynter Gordon, 'Still Getting Younger' (SmarterChild Remix)
Listen to the remixed edition of Wynter Gordon's "Still Getting Younger."
We still haven't gotten over "Still Getting Younger," one of the many genius cuts (and the final single) off Miss Wynter Gordon's 2011 release, With The Music I Die.
Luckily, neither has NYC-based producer/songwriter Rick Markowitz -- otherwise known as SmarterChild (yes, named for the beloved BFF AIM bot you totally spent all night IMing in middle school and asking hard-hitting questions about your crush -- LYLAS!).
Listen to Wynter Gordon's "Still Getting Younger" (SmarterChild remix) after the jump.
Kicking off atop a chilly synthesized pulse (and an ancient IM alert sound -- nostalgia!), SmarterChild's remix of Gordon's 2012 summer single takes the song to raving new heights, EDM-style. As the chorus builds, the song's synthesizers grow arena-sized, eventually leading to a genius sample of The Jimmy Castor Bunch's "Troglodyte (Cave Man)": "What we're gonna do right here is go back!" a male voice announces before the track launches into a pulverizing beat breakdown.
Frigid beats with a slice of Wynter on top? Hot as ice.

Переслать - New Video: Jack White, 'I'm Shakin''
Jack White takes on...Jack White in his latest clip, "I'm Shakin'."
In Jack White's latest clip, "I'm Shakin' (the latest single from his solo album Blunderbuss), the always dapper, former White Stripe challenges the only musician who is equal to him in every category -- himself. We had to do a double take for this video because yes, there are two Jack Whites battling it out in what could only be described as a Scott Pilgrim-esque battle of the bands (well, without Michael Cera). While Mariah Carey may have faced off against herself first, Jack is settling the score with guitars and microphones instead of fists and heels.
Watch Jack White's "I'm Shakin'" video after the jump.
The video starts out normally enough with Jack White performing with his band while a stranger pop-locks in the shadows (OK, that last part is kinda weird for Jack White, but we're still on board). Next, we notice Jack squaring off against evil-twin Jack in a knock-down drag-out rock-off between the two identical bands (well, identical except for the color swap, which is black and blue, respectively). The only thing we're missing in this video is a winner! These (same) dudes worked too hard to just get a tie; It's positively un-American! But I guess if you were made to go against yourself, you would probably arrive at a stalemate, too, being that you're able to predict your every move. Whoa, getting way into our own heads here. We'll just say the winner is... Jack White.

Переслать - Rihanna Releases Her 'Unapologetic' Album Art, And Please Forgive Us For Staring! (PHOTO)
Rihanna's "Unapologetic" cover art leaves veeeery little to the imagination.
ATTN Rihanna Navy: We officially know two things today that we did not know yesterday. 1) The title of Rihanna's seventh album will be Unapologetic, and 2) the cover of said album shows off most of Rihanna's upper body in such a DGAF way that ONLY RiRi could pull it off. SERIOUSLY, and it is unbelievable how amazing girl looks. I guess going bare on your album art is just a trend these days. (We should maayyybe start working out again every morning.)
Today Rihanna tweeted her latest cover art with the simple caption "ALBUM COVER." In case you were too busy staring or just preoccupied with picking your jaw off of the ground, you'll notice that there are actually words covering Rihanna's body like "#NAVY" (S/O TO #RIHANNANAVY), "VICTORY," and "7" (no doubt a reference to Unapologetic being her seventh album). Well, if "Diamonds" and this album cover are any indication, we can DEF expect a "FEARLESS" album to drop on Nov. 19. Rihanna, there is never any need for you to apologize.

Переслать - New Video: Chris Webby Featuring Kid Ink & Bun B, 'Wait A Minute'
Chris Webby asks his ladyfriend to "Wait A Minute" so he can earn some cash!
Remember Chris Webby? He's the Connecticut rapper who spit verses wearing a white lab coat in his "Webster's Laboratory" video (dope!) and who just dropped some brand-new visuals for his Kid Ink and Bun B-assisted "Wait A Minute" video. Oh, you need some more time, bb? We'll wait! No problem. (TERRIBLE joke, please forgive us.)
Watch Chris Webby's "Wait A Minute" video featuring Kid Ink and Bun B after the jump.
Appearing on Webby's new mixtape, Bars On Me, we were surprised to discover that "Wait A Minute" is actually a love song in disguise as a hardcore rap jam. Along with Bun B and Kid Ink, Webby raps about wanting to make a crap ton of dough before he finally settles down with the one he loves: "It's a very big world with a lot of bad b-----s/ But I ain't never met one like you/ But there's money to be made and I'm really tryin' to get it/ So baby, what I need you to do?/ Wait a minute." #Practical! Sure, maybe it's not a traditional lovey-dovey ballad, but it's kind of sweet that Webby is all, "You're the one, baby, but let's put this on pause until I'm crazy loaded and can buy you the ring you deserve!" You know what? I'd totally fall for that line in a heartbeat.

Переслать - Watch (And Cry Over) Macklemore And Ryan Lewis' 'Same Love' Video, Featuring Mary Lambert (VIDEO)
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (featuring Mary Lambert) release a stunningly beautiful video for "Same Love."
In the months following Frank Ocean's sexual revelation, big names in hip hop and R&B have chimed in with their support -- Beyoncé wrote a poignant poem about Frank's courage, Tyler The Creator gave a shout-out to the crooner, 50-Cent called Ocean haters "idiots," and the massive success of Ocean's Channel Orange album proves that fans will adore and support him no matter what his sexual orientation. In fact, Frank is one of many stars who have shown that, in the words of advice columnist Dan Savage, "It Gets Better."
But hip hop hasn't always been so supportive of alternative lifestyles -- rapper Snoop Dogg recently admitted, "When I was growing up, you could never do that and announce that. There would be so much scrutiny and hate and negativity, and no one would step (forward) to support you because that's what we were brainwashed and trained to know." Now the genre has evolved into a legion of LGBT support as proven in Seattle-based rapper Macklemore's recent rap track and music video, "Same Love," a song that proudly supports equality and same-sex marriage.
Watch Macklemore's and Ryan Lewis' (Featuring Mary Lambert) music video for "Same Love" after the jump.
Produced by Ryan Lewis and featuring Seattle-based singer-songwriter Mary Lambert, "Same Love" follows a gay man's life in seven minutes -- from birth to struggles with his family and identity conflicts, to finding the love of his life and eventually marrying him (resulting in one of the most tear-jerking ceremonies/parties we've ever seen). And while we are hypnotized by the strength of the video's visuals, the song's verses are equally powerful, and drive home the message that same-sex couples deserve to remain equal: "Human rights for everybody/ There is no difference/ Live on! And be yourself!" Mary Lambert's vocals gently sway into the chorus, and help to make the moment that much more memorable. And as someone who is marrying his partner in little under a year, the poetic empowerment that comes with this song couldn't be anymore timely for me and for all those in the LGBT community wanting the right to legally seal the deal with their loved ones.
While Macklemore himself isn't gay, he's announced how necessary it is for hip-hop culture to embrace and support same-sex marriage. Mackelmore has also encouraged others to join in the fight for equality on his blog: "This song is a humble submission to help bring this conversation to the surface, so that we can reflect on the language we use, and how powerful it can be." Perhaps this song really can change the tune of equality for all.
"Same Love" can be found on Mackelmore's and Ryan Lewis' debut album, The Heist.

Переслать - Ryan Beatty Performs The NYC Version Of 'Hey L.A.' In Central Park, Melts Hearts Accordingly (VIDEO)
Budding pop star Ryan Beatty stops by NYC's Central Park to put a Big Apple twist on his single "Hey L.A."
We suppose when you get a massive co-sign from Justin Bieber, you're pretty much winning at all aspects of life. And by that line of logic, Ryan Beatty is having the best year ever. Never heard of Ryan Beatty? FOR REAL? That definitely won't last long, because in just over a year, the 16-year-old budding pop star has racked up nearly 33 million YouTube views (hoooooooooooooly crap), released his debut EP (which went to #1 on the U.S. Pop Album Charts!), and, wait for it... had his song "Every Little Thing" covered by THE BIEBS. Ryan was also nominated as a "Choice Web Star" at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, has been featured in Teen Vogue, was named by Popstar! Magazine as one of the top acts to look out for in 2012, and was #10 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart. I'd tell you more, but WE HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN TO THE BEST PART! Oh, also, NOT EVEN LEGAL YET. We can't deal.
Watch Ryan Beatty perform "Hey L.A." in NYC's Central Park after the jump.
Being the doll that he his, Ryan visited MTV News and took a little field trip to Manhattan's front yard, AKA Central Park, where Ryan busted out an acoustic rendition of his current single "Hey L.A." but gave it an NYC twist. (Get it? He changed the song because he was in New York and not L.A.!) But honestly, Ryan's acoustic track is off the chain. We know this next statement may be a smidge controversial, but seriously, BIEBER BEWARE! Competition is around the corner.

Переслать - Video Premiere: Freelance Whales, 'Spitting Image'
Freelance Whales are marine biologists searching for spirits in their latest clip for "Spitting Image."
Indie-rock outfit Freelance Whales has a taste for adventure. They aren't afraid to explore a variety of different sounds via ten billion different instruments on their second studio album Diluvia, which dropped earlier this month, and in their latest video for "Spitting Image," the PUSH Artists demonstrate that they're perfectly willing to explore the seas for haunted spirits. (::Yawns:: Another day, another haunted sea creature expedition.) Okay, we knew Freelance Whales liked to shake things up a bit, but we didn't exactly expect them to go all "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" on us. Props on their courage, though!
Watch Freelance Whales' "Spitting Image" video after the jump.
In the clip, we see the male members of Freelance Whales as marine biologists (the job we all wanted as kids so we could hang out with porpoises and Shamu) looking for a rumored specter that haunts the sea. In addition to taking the vocal lead, Doris Cellar also acts as the underwater spirit, giving the video a very "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou" feel, but instead of red beanies and slow motion shots, there are...ocean ghosts. Before the night is through, the boys finally find something, but it may be more than they bargained for. But we suppose that's just the risk they take moonlighting as marine biologists! Call it an occupational hazard?

Переслать - Nicki Minaj And Cassie's 'The Boys' Video Looks Like It's Gonna Be EPIC! (VIDEO)
Nicki Minaj must be helping Cassie tie her shoe, right? Right.
We already knew Nicki Minaj and Cassie's dude-themed collabo "The Boys" was gonna be a doozy, but we had no clue just how doozy-ish it would be. And yes, we just added an "ish" to the word "doozy" and we're owning it. Thanks.
Go behind the scenes of Nicki Minaj and Cassie's "The Boys" video after the jump.
Just last week, Nicki posted some behind-the-scenes footage from her Cassie-assisted "The Boys" video, and as you might imagine, it's basically an explosion of neon with some fierce rapping and super-stunning outfits. In other words, it's perfect! From what we can tell, the video consists mainly of Nicki strolling down the streets of L.A. surrounded by men in hot-pink suits whose sole purpose is to hold umbrellas over her. #TheLife.
As if the behind-the-scenes video wasn't enough, last night Nicki treated her Barbz to even more "The Boys" sneak-peek action when she tweeted a still from the video shoot. Yeahhhh, so we're, ahem, not too sure what's going on in the image, but we imagine Cassie's shoe became untied, so Nicki's just being a good friend and bending down to help her! Or perhaps Cassie got a new belly-button ring and Nicki is making sure it's not infected? (Ew, gross, but we're trying here.) You know what? It's gotta be the shoe thing. Definitely.
"The Boys" is slated to appear as the first single off Nicki's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up, due out Nov. 19.
