  • Star Spotting: We're Beginning To Think Lady Gaga's A Secret Spy

Lady Gaga gives us her best glam film noir pose.

We love the mystery that is Lady Gaga -- you just never know what to expect. Hair dresses! Meat dresses! Perfume that smells like belladonna tears!). So we're totally on board with Mother Monster's current mysterious film-noir look. Maybe she's testing out another personality -- Agent "Poker Face," perhaps?

The "Marry The Night" singer shared the spy-chic pic on her Twitter along with the caption, "Time for hair and makeup Brisbane. In my dressing room. Ready to Pop. X Mother Monster" Technically, there's no reference to anything spy-centric in the caption, but MAYBE THAT'S BECAUSE SHE CAN'T TELL US SHE'S A SPY! Oh, and while we're on the subject, NICE JOB tricking us into thinking we're supposed to believe people show up to get their makeup and hair done already looking that GORG. WE'RE ONTO YOU, GAGALOO!

We're just happy Gaga seems to be back to normal after her recent head trauma. We were kinda concerned that the blow to her head would cause some sort of fashion amnesia and turn her in to a jeans-and-tshirt kind of girl. Clearly, we had nothing to worry about.

  • Azealia Banks Wilds Out In The Wild West In Her 'Liquorice' Video

In Azealia Banks' latest video, she shows off her cowgirl skills.

We've already told you why you need to turn on to Azealia Banks: she's gunning for global musical dominance. Well if you listened to us, (you so should have,) then you'd have her 1991 EP, a short but sweet collection of on-fire dance hip-hop joints. "Liquorice" is the latest video from the EP, and it doesn't disappoint knowing her raw style.

In the video, directed by Rankin and styled by Nicola Formichetti (high FASHUN, people!), Azealia channels her inner John Wayne... except way fiercer, riding around on horses and brandishing six-shooters. She's also wearing American flag booty shorts and mad leather and eating Popsicles, which I'm not sure the Duke did either. The on-again, off-again vocalist (PLEASE, WE BEG OF YOU AZEALIA STICK AROUND,) is keeping her head focused on the music right now, specifically on her upcoming "Fantasea" mixtape. Whatever you say Azealia, we'll do it. Just keep doing this.

  • New Video: The Briggs, 'Panic'

    The Briggs

The Briggs hit the streets of L.A. with a new single.

For a song entitled "Panic," The Briggs seem to be pretty on top of things. Well-lit performance footage? Check. Sweet tattoos? Yup. Adorable-but-dangerous dog chase sequence? All set. We bet they make a lot of to-do lists. The seminal L.A. punk band/Kings fans (yes, we're taking a late pass and jumping on the band's Stanley Cup bandwagon) shot the "Panic" video on their home turf, with singer Joey LaRocca walking by Echo Park institution House of Spirits before his canine encounter. If you're looking for a punk heartthrob (which, duh), he spends most of the video shirtless, shouting, and showing off his ink. Also, either he looks oddly like Charlie Sheen, or we had too much tiger blood for breakfast.

The song's sandpaper-punk is energetic and fist-pump worthy: It's an ode to surviving your problems with a helping hand from playing rock music. "My salvation lies in every note/ so put my heart straight to my throat," LaRocca bellows in the chorus. Earlier, he's worried: "Panic makes all my decisions for me," he sings. This is probably a good idea given you're being attacked by a dog.

The release of "Panic" last month is the first we've heard from the band since 2008's Come All You Madmen, with The Briggs coming out of "hibernation," as LaRocca calls it, after taking some time off. With this track under their belts, it sounds like the band won't be heading back to sleep just yet.

  • How Usher Finally Found Himself On His New Album, 'Looking 4 Myself'

Oh hey readers! I'm Sam Lansky, and this is "Pop Think," where I spend a lot of time on a quest for self-actualization through pop music -- I might even be inclined to say that I'm Looking 4 Myself. (Sorry to get so profound, but that's how we roll here at Buzzworthy.) See, Looking 4 Myself is the title of the new Usher album, and it's a superb new entry in the singer's three decades (!) of making some of the most creative baby-making music in the game, fused with a confessional spirit that sets him apart from his R&B contemporaries.

And on Looking 4 Myself, Usher is on an identity quest of sorts, traversing the lands of giddy-up dance-pop, grimy R&B downtempos, and even some ultra-fresh New Wave -- which sees him at his most diverse and inventive yet. Everybody scream: We're headed for a major pop climax.

Usher sounds like he's coming of age on his seventh album in three decades.

"How can someone hurt you, but still make you feel so good?" asks Usher on "Lessons For The Lover," a slow-burning Rico Love-produced jam on his latest LP, Looking 4 Myself. This sentiment could almost serve as the thesis statement not just for the album but for Usher's lyrics over the course of his career: He's always sung about physical pleasure and emotional pain, and at his best, the tension between the two. If this idea is all over the record, it's at its clearest on the debut single, "Climax," an ingenious Diplo-produced fuzzy confection about sex and commitment, and the tenuous relationship between the two. It's loaded with entendre but masterfully controlled, a spectacular anticlimax.

Read more about Usher's coming-of-age album after the jump:

But then, there's nothing new about Usher exploring this recurring theme of the fun not really paying off: Big chunks of his lyrical output, including the Confessions era (one of his many creative peaks), have focused on the consequences of overindulging. On Looking 4 Myself, the two tracks produced by electro-pop superproducers Swedish House Mafia are two sides of that coin: The first, "Numb," is built around an infectious house riff over Usher's layered vocal: "Let's go numb!" The second, "Euphoria," calls out simply, "Here we are, we are, we found euphoria!" Both are big rave-up numbers that'll kill at the club, even as they stand in opposition to each other.

Usher's strength is that the album never sounds confused, even though it's an album about confusion: The title track, "Looking 4 Myself," features vocals and production from Empire Of The Sun's Luke Steele. And while sonically, it's a major departure from the rest of the album, it stays the course in terms of theme: Dissonant, bouncy New Wave gets a little existential as Usher sings, "I'm looking for myself/All my life I'm searching." And on the Motown-referencing "Twisted," produced by The Neptunes with guest vox by Pharrell, Usher howls, "You got it twisted!" -- another take on that theme of confusion on the road to understanding.

But Usher's career has always been about contradictions, confessions, and the coincidence of debauchery and self-awareness -- and what a dangerous emotional cocktail the two can. On Looking 4 Myself, these themes truly come together in a way that's more mature, thoughtful, and supremely danceable than he's ever been before. At the age of 33, and now on his seventh studio album, Usher's finally made his coming-of-age record. And it sounds like he's finally found the man he wants to be.

  • Artist Of The Day: Rebecca Ferguson

Stand back: Rebecca Ferguson's about to become your new favorite female singer.

The name Rebecca Ferguson may not ring a bell to you just yet, but she's mad famous in England, so it's definitely time for us to catch up. Rebecca first made a name for herself in 2010 when she became the runner-up on the seventh season of the "The X Factor." She then signed a massive record deal with Syco (Simon Cowell's record label)/ Epic Records and Columbia Records in the US. Basically, this chick was pursued by every major label. And it's easy to hear why. Rebecca's debut album, Heaven was co-written entirely by Ferguson and has already been certified platinum in the UK and Ireland. No biggie at all, guys.

Watch Rebecca Ferguson's "Nothing Real But Love" video after the jump.

Heaven was released in the States earlier this year, and she's been bringing critics and fans to their knees with her smoky sound. Think the gritty pipes of Linda Perry and 4 Non Blondes, meets the passion of P!nk, meets a dash of Emeli Sande. And don't even get us started on the echoes of Aretha Franklin. Her first single, "Nothing's Real But Love," is an utterly arresting deep cut that centers around the universal sentiment that even when life craps on you, the only thing that really matters is love. In her own words, Rebecca reveals:  "I spilled my soul out. A lot of it comes from writing about relationships I've been in, so I think everyone can probably relate to the lyrics – we've all been there." Amen, sister! If I ever find a boyfriend to then break up with, your album will be my go-to! -- Jenna Rubenstein

  • POSTED: Usher Talks About His Sexy Song, 'Twisted' & His Pizza Face Days

Usher Stans, you obviously know that Ush is MTV's POSTED artist for the month of June, but we're gonna go off the record and unofficially just call this the Summer of Usher since his Looking 4 Myself album just dropped (and so did his shirt). Okay, great. Now that that's out of the way, and now that we've got the scoop on his adults-only single, "Climax," we've got even more Usher "Confessions."

Watch Usher talk about acne and his thoughts on "Twisted" after the jump!

First up, Usher lets us in on a secret about a struggle he had during his teenage years: acne. Puberty was not kind to the guy, and we learn from his "When I Was 17" clip that the flawless face we drool over now used to be covered in zits! Usher admits he was called "pizza face" (sadz!) and even had a hard time succeeding with the ladies. Proof: It really does get better, guys.

Next, we get insider info on Usher's new song, "Twisted." Aside from looking brilliant in his glasses during the interview, Usher offers some philosophical thoughts on the new tune: "Twisted is more of a nostalgic record... This was our way to tie it [R&B trends] all together and give you something different that you probably wouldn't get from me." Usher then offers wisdom on his longevity in the music business (and life): "Life is a workout. It's like a treadmill... you gotta be with it." Annnd that concludes our "Deep Thoughts With Usher" segment of the day.

  • Green Day Release Trailer For New Album, 'Uno!'

Green Day give us another look at their upcoming ¡Uno! album.

Okay, be honest. It's been a while since you dusted off that studded belt and leather wristband. If you let the punk rocker in you slip away a little bit, it's okay. We always forgive. Well, luckily we'll soon have some new joints from the best punks in the biz to whip us back into shape. Yes, I'm speaking of the TRIUMPHANT return of Green Day and their new album, ¡Uno! It's about time, boys.

Watch the trailer for Green Day's ¡Uno! after the jump

While the details are still coming in, here's what we know. In between playing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's wedding, Billie Joe and company have been hard at work in the studio recording not one, not two, but THREE ALBUMS, titled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! (We spot a theme and a little word play.) Crazy over-achievement? Maybe, but we are so ready for that over here. The trailer gives a sneak peek of a few possible song titles like "Carpe Diem," "Kill The DJ," and others we probably couldn't repeat aloud in a library without being thrown out. Take a look at the Green Day recording their new album, and get ready for the release of ¡Uno! on September 25. "Wake Me Up When September Ends" never sounded so right.

  • Taylor Momsen Is Obsessed With Puppies, Sunglasses & Die Antwoord (VIDEO)

Taylor Momsen: As enthusiastic about puppies as she is as about terrifying South African performance artists.

When we first thought about bringing The Pretty Reckless' Taylor Momsen in for a round of "10 Things I'm Obsessed With," I have to admit I was a little concerned all 10 of them might be scary goth references I didn't get. Not the case! Turns out the "Just Tonight" singer is into her puppy, her guitar (named "The Punisher"), The Beatles and writing songs: "You write a lot of bad songs before you write good ones. And when you write a good one, it's the best feeling on the planet. And then having fans sing them back to you is the second best feeling on the planet."

Watch Taylor Momsen's "10 Things I'm Obsessed With" after the jump!

Of course it wouldn't be a Taylor Momsen confessional if she didn't throw in something unfrilly -- she revealed that she's a die-hard Die Antwoord fan. Specifically, a Die Antwoord music video fan: Put simply, the South African rap-ravers' videos are "SO cool." Yeah, totally -- replace "cool" with "terrifying" and we totally agree with you.

  • New Video: Jedward, 'Young Love'

Jedward sing about youth and romance in their "Young Love" video. They're also twins, if you didn't notice.

Who the hell are Jedward? And more importantly, why is their name Jedward? It's tough to understand, but here's what we know: Jedward are an Irish pop duo made up of identical twins John and Edward Grimes. The bros first appeared on season six of "The X Factor" in the U.K., and though they placed sixth, they amassed a giant fan base across the pond and are now extremely famous. Oh, and somewhere around that time they smushed their names together to make the very innovative JEDWARD. (John + Edward = Jedward. We know you knew that.)

Watch Jedward's "Young Love" video after the jump.

Cut to present day: These twin bros have had tons of chart success, and their latest tune, "Young Love" will probably be no exception. In their new video, self-directed of course, the blonde-locked brothers sound like a mix between a young Justin Bieber and *NSYNC circa '99, all the while flaunting their identical twin-ness and singing about puppy love. The video doesn't have much of a plot, and mainly consists of the twins standing on an empty stage and rehearsing for an off off Broadway play their next gig. Is this video breaking any boundaries? Certainly not, but then again these two do win about 10,000 extra points for looking like the same person. (Twin bonus!) So there's always that.

  • Alice Cooper Covered Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way,' And It's Bizarre And Great At The Same Time (VIDEO)

Alice Cooper covered Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," and it was really weird and really cool.

Clearly, Lady Gaga is a tough chick to impress. She was less than thrilled with Madonna's mash-up of "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" (possibly because she didn't want anyone to remember they sound VERY MUCH THE SAME.) But one "Born This Way" cover she was totally into? Alice Cooper's hardcore, head-banging, rocker-dude version.

Watch Alice Cooper cover Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" after the jump.

This past weekend, Cooper took the stage at Bonnaroo in Tennessee, where he not only performed his own hits but also a totally random version of the Lady's "Born This Way." It was a vastly different interpretation of the song that felt more like "Living On A Prayer," but WHO CARES? It's ALICE COOPER, and he can do what he wants. And that's precisely what he did when he changed Lady Gaga's original lyrics adding: "You may be crass, you may be dumb/ but hell with that, are you having fun? ... They hung me high/ But that's the price of fame and fear and fortune too/ I'm standing here at Bonnaroo!" In fact, Mother Monster was so into Alice's cover that she even took time off from resting her concussion to email the band to express her approval. A personal email from Lady Gaga? That's DEFINITELY a seal of approval. Rock on.
