  • Video Premiere: This Is She, 'Grow Up'

L.A.'s This Is She show why you should never mess with a girl's heart in "Grow Up."

Los Angeles electro-rockers This Is She were formed from the ashes of two former bands that met on the Vans Warped Tour. That's no surprise here -- the raw musical aggression of drummer Ryan Folden and guitarist Christian Paul Meadows, and the unbridled passion of singer Alana Grace could only haven been forged in the summer heat of a punk festival on wheels.

Watch This Is She's 'Grow Up' video after the jump.

On "Grow Up," the band's first single off their forthcoming Nobody Is OK EP, which drops July 3, we get to see just how much of a ruthless badass Alana can be. Her beautiful yet blistering vocals remind us of an Amy Lee from Evanescence/ Avril Lavigne hybrid, all laid over dubstep-tinged rock. And if the video's any indication, she's not the one to eff with. The cinematic video begins with Alana quite literally tied down to her bad boyfriend, clearly looking to get out of the relationship that's really ready to be over. She even enlists the expertise of a "Cheaters"-like show to catch him in the act. We don't want to give it all away, but let's just say Alana gets the last laugh in this one.

  • Star Spotting: Justin Bieber Is Doing One Of Three Things

Justin Bieber pledges his allegiance, hopefully to me.

Aside from gawking at THAT GINORMOUS PINKY RING on Justin Bieber's pinky, we've been trying to guess what he's actually doing in this picture, snapped after his visit to "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." A few guesses include:

1.) Practicing the Pledge Of Allegiance to prep for the Fourth of July. Justin Bieber's Canadian, as you know, but it's always good to embrace other cultures.

2.) He's overwhelmed by the AH-MAZING success of his No. 1 album, Believe!

    Or..

    3.) He has heartburn.

In "reality" (whatever that means) Justin was singing to fans and had himself a "moment." But the more we really stare at this pic, the more it looks like Justin's trying to sneak in a quick catnap. In between promoting his new album, making his fan's dreams come true, preparing for a role in a forthcoming basketball movie, gearing up for his sold-out concert tour, and polishing that enormous gold nugget on his finger, when else is this bro going to find time to sleep?! (But if he's really going to start sneaking in snoozes at inopportune moments like this one, may we suggest scoring a pair of these?)

  • New Song: Alicia Keys, 'New Day'

Alicia Keys teams with hubby/producer Swizz Beatz on her jam 'New Day.'

Pretty much the only thing better than new Alicia Keys music is new Alicia Keys music produced by Alicia's IRL hubby Swizz Beatz! Alicia called upon her man to lend his production prowess to her new record "New Day," and clearly the outcome gets a big "HELL YES" from us.

Listen to Alicia Keys' "New Day" after the jump.

"New Day" will be the first single off of Alicia's still-untitled follow-up to 2009's The Element of Freedom. Sonically, it's led by marching band-esque drums and a subtle piano melody that leave ample room for Alicia's powerhouse vocals. In fact, we were kinda bummed this record didn't feature more of Alicia's booming pipes (it's more of a laid-back vocal delivery), but we're sure we'll get some of that on forthcoming singles.

Lyrically, "New Day" is clearly inspired by Alicia's feelings for her son, Egypt: "There's no limitation, no/ Fill up your life/ Let me see your hands up.../ There's a feeling that I got that I can't give up/ Feeling in my heart that I can't get over." In short, "New Day" is a strong start to what will hopefully be a banger of an album. Also, props for keeping all the royalties in the family, guys. Gotta pay for little Egypt's college education someday!

  • Meet Icona Pop, The Swedish Dance-Pop Duo Behind 'Snooki & JWOWW''s 'I Love It' Theme Song (VIDEO)

Get to know Icona Pop. Also, they have super cute accents!

Caroline Hjelt & Aino Jawo -- the Swedish dance-pop masterminds behind Icona Pop -- were already on the come-up due to their sugary sweet, shouty contribution to Chiddy Bang's "Mind Your Manners" and their endless youth anthem, "Nights Like This." But thanks to their infectiously hooky single, "I Love It," and two wild (and wildly famous) chicks by the name of Snooki and JWOWW, these unstoppably rad Nordic chicks are about to blow.

Watch Icona Pop's "I Love It" video after the jump.

In case you haven't been watching "Snooki & JWOWW" Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET (WHY HAVEN'T YOU BEEN WATCHING??), Icona Pop's "I Love It" is the rowdy, reckless theme song to the "Jersey Shore" all-girls spin-off. And recently, Icona Pop stopped by MTV to invite Snooki and JWOWW to party with them. Careful, ladies. Those two chicks could probably drink you under the table at Karma (and we don't even want to think about what goes on under the table at Karma). Also, can we come?

  • New Song: Muse, 'Survival'

Muse do their homeland proud with 'Survival' for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

I won't lie to you guys: Muse has been issued a HUGE task. They were asked to make the official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games in their native England. (Fortunately, they're used to creating epic things, like a dubstep-influenced album this year.) And we think what they came up with, "Survival," certainly should do their country and fans worldwide proud.

Listen to Muse's "Survival" after the jump.

"Survival" certainly gives off an enormous vibe. It feels like a classic rock jam that Queen or ELO would've crafted, rife with strings, pianos, guitars and choir vocals. And with lyrics like "I'll light the fuse/ And I'll never lose/ and I choose to survive," I think maybe I could run a marathon. (Eh, maybe not, but I'll finally do my laundry. Progress!)

  • New Video: Eytan And The Embassy, 'Everything Changes'

Some of the many looks from Eytan And The Embassy's new video, 'Everything Changes.'

Meet Eytan Oren of Eytan and The Embassy (if you don't remember his hilarious songs from the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.) Vaguely reminiscent of Ben Folds with a tinge of Mark Ronson's signature '60s Phil Spector sound, Etyan and his four-piece band are at the brink of household-name fame. Raised by parents who introduced him on Bob Dylan and The Beatles, Eytan began piano lessons at the age of 6 and studied music throughout high school before heading to Columbia University, where he majored in -- yep -- music. All of which explains why his new "Everything Changes" video is a lesson in modern-day pop music history.

Similar to Ingrid Michaelson's stunning "Blood Brothers" video, in his "Everything Changes" video, Oren morphs into music's greats: Buddy Holly, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Elton John, David Bowie and even Lady Gaga. What's more, Eytan underwent a whopping 18 different costume changes. And miraculously, the whole thing was shot in one take and came together on an extremely tight budget (props, because that David Bowie Aladdin Sane sparkly eyepiece looks HIGH QUALITY!). And by the way, we're not the only ones impressed -- a bunch of famous people are too! Neil Patrick Harris recently tweeted "Just saw a most creative and inspiring music video. Love it! Gotta watch." Al Yankovic gave the video a shout-out and, and Harry Shum of "Glee" also tweeted the clip's praises. Basically, Eytan created an unforgettable video about famous people that's now adored by famous people.

  • I'm Already Obsessed With Miley Cyrus' Next Album (And I Haven't Even Heard It Yet)

Oh hey! I'm Sam Lansky, and this is my column, "Pop Think," dedicated to exploring the most important niches of popular culture (and popular music). Ever since Miley Cyrus' last studio album, 2010's Can't Be Tamed, it's been like a permanent December waiting for some new Miley tracks to burn up my iTunes. So I was super stoked when she announced plans this month to record her fourth record, which will sound "very adult and sexy and believable." Yikes!

But a sexy, adult album is exactly the right turn for Miley, who's 19 and about to become a wife. She's all grown up from her Disney days, and she's got a roster of urban-pop producers at the helm to help develop the sound, leading me to believe this could be Miley's strongest effort yet. Which is why I'm looking back at Miley's artistic evolution, and looking forward to see what the future might hold. It's a liberty walk, y'all, and I am 100 percent in support of the liberation of Miley.

It's always a little weird watching our tween idols grow up, isn't it? As the star of the Disney Channel original series Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus started off as a toothy, adorably goofy kid with a surprisingly sultry country voice passed down from her dad, country superstar Billy Ray Cyrus. When she started her music career, Miley made squeaky clean songs like "G.N.O." But even her first big mainstream single, "See You Again," was surprisingly slinky, a dance-pop confection that captured the awkwardness of adolescence in its shouty refrain.

Read more about Miley Cyrus' next album after the jump!

Since then, Miley's journey hasn't been without controversy, although I think she's often taken more flak than she's deserved for behavior that's largely par for the course when it comes to teenage acting out. More important, though, as I've written in this space before, she's remained an important voice in issues like marriage equality, body image issues and even Occupy Wall Street -- audacious, given the conservative lean of some her fanbase. She's fiercely opinionated, even when her opinions are unpopular. And Miley's passion somehow feels authentic, unlike calculated PR-backed opining of other stars.

Miley's music, too, has taken some unexpected turns. Her last album, Can't Be Tamed, was criminally underrated, an exceptional pop effort with chilly production on epic dance bangers like "Two More Lonely People" and "Who Owns My Heart" and evocative ballads like "Take Me Along" and "Stay." Most compelling, though, was her cover of Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Lonesome When You Go", an impressively lovely rendition, all pensively strummed guitars and dusky vocals, injected with an emotional depth that belied her age and experience. Half of me was hoping that her next release would be an acoustic country album, just so I'd get to hear more of that sound.

Instead, Miley's going in an urban-pop direction. Although she's working with many producers, the only ones announced so far are Pharrell and Hit-Boy, but she may have a collab in the works with hip-hop whiz-kid Mac Miller. Miley's never pursued a sound that urban before, yet it's a testament to her artistic fearlessness that she can transition fluidly from Eurodance on Can't Be Tamed to a Bob Dylan cover for a charity compilation to urban pop with Hit-Boy (the creative mastermind who brought you Jay-Z and Kanye's "N****s in Paris"). Pharrell, too, is one of the most innovative and dynamic players in the production game. His track "Twisted" on Usher's latest album was a retro-soul standout, and he's been working with some less obvious collaborators, like Adam Lambert and Scissor Sisters.

For these reason, I think it's safe to assume that Miley, who appears happier than ever (like, glowing) and who's been hard at work in the recording studio (and has promised us a new album before her wedding to Liam Hemsworth), is poised to put out the best work of her musical career. Miley's only 19, but she's already been in the industry for nearly a decade, and she deserves to be making music that she loves. I haven't even heard the album yet, and I'm already kind of obsessed with it.

  • New Video: Whitney Houston And Jordin Sparks, 'Celebrate'

When it was announced that Whitney Houston was pairing up with Jordin Sparks to sing a tune for the film, "Sparkle," we were all hands in the air -- we couldn't think of a better powerhouse duet (Brandy & Monica's "The Boy Is Me" not withstanding). But with the untimely death of Whitney, our merriment over this dream duet turned bittersweet. Luckily, the "Celebrate" video focuses on throwing a heartfelt party that honors Whitney's last-ever film.

The "Celebrate" video leans heavily on actual scenes from "Sparkle" (out this August), but we aren't mad about it (it's like, the best movie preview ever!). But what we're really loving is the story line that weaves in a montage of movie scenes and captures the film's cast joining together for a party in Whitney's honor. Scenes catch the characters celebrating (aptly), while images of Whitney pop up throughout as a reminder of her legacy.

Jordin carries the majority of the video with her star power (lady is seriously looking FUH-LAWLESS, BTW), but it's the emotional, almost home-movie quality honoring Whitney's onscreen presence that gets us all kinds of sentimental. Don't be surprised if watching this makes you want to dig up home videos to celebrate your own life.

  • Ke$ha Got 'SUCK IT' Tattooed INSIDE OF HER LIP (PHOTO)

Ke$ha got the phrase 'SUCK IT!' tattooed insider her lip. America!!

Real talk: We're a little scared of Ke$ha's new tattoo, guys. Instead of giving tattoos to The Flaming Lips, K-dollar-sign-ha went and got herself some fresh ink... IN HER MOUTH. As in, the mucus membrane where you eat, chew, swallow and produce saliva.

Ke$ha recently stopped by L.A.'s Alchemy Tattoo where thought it would be a wise move to get the phrase "SUCK IT!" tattooed on her inner lip. Also, can we just take a moment to imagine this exchange? She was literally probably like: "Hey guys! Great to see you again. How're the kids? Also, can you tattoo the word "SUCK IT" on my inner lip? Oh, you can? You're the BEST!"

We're all for being wild, free, rebellious and bold. And actually, we kinda respect Ke$ha's "IDGAF" attitude. However, bear in mind that when Ke$ha's, like, a mom, is she really gonna wanna have the words "SUCK IT!" permanently emblazoned on her inner lip? Then again, if Ke$ha ever has kids, she can't scold them if they wanna get "SUCK IT" tattooed inside their mouths because she did it first. I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU, MOM!
