  • 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Makeup Slayed Benjamin Walker

If you've seen pictures of Benjamin Walker in full prosthetics as an older Abraham Lincoln in the upcoming film chronicling the president's career as a vampire hunter, you may have been impressed by the results.

When MTV News spoke with the cast of "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," Walker's co-stars spoke in awe of the amount of time the actor spent in the makeup chair, claiming that it would take up to eight hours each day.

Walker modestly corrected his cast mates. "Maybe not eight, but close," he said. "I was in there for a while."

His experience with the makeup was mixed one, dreading the application, but always appreciating the craftsmanship. "The first time that I got into it was the screen test, and it was surreal," he said. "It's very unpleasant. The process of applying it is very unpleasant, but [makeup creator] Greg Cannom and [effects supervisor] Will Huff, they did great work. They created a masterpiece on my head and made my job a lot easier."

Walker's co-star, Anthony Mackie, felt differently, however. He said he never got to appreciate the work, since when it came time for his scenes with Walker, the makeup would be ruined.

"It seemed like I always got sloppy seconds because by the time that he got to me, his face was bubbling and coming off," Mackie said. "One eye would be here, and there'd be a bubble on his head, and his nose would be like this. It was fun. It was always funny to see how they would doctor him back up to get one more take."

  • First Image Of James Franco As 'Oz The Great And Powerful'

    James Franco Oz

We've been dying to see "Oz: The Great and Powerful" for years now, and even though it started filming a year ago, we still haven't seen any stills or footage from the movie. So consider us a little starved for anything to do with the great and powerful Wizard of Oz.

That's why we were so excited that the folks over at the James Franco Forever fansite posted what is our first look at the upcoming movie. Sure, it's just a shoddy snapshot of an Italian tease for the Sam Raimi flick, but that's more than anything we've had before. And we've got to admit, we like the look James Franco has going on as the titular Oz.

As anyone who's seen "The Wizard of Oz" will know, the titular man behind the curtain is a big showman. In "Oz: The Great and Powerful," he is supposed to be a circus performer before he gets transported to Oz. This image of Franco gets that point across thanks to his old Hollywood top hat and tuxedo. Of course, there's also the hot air balloon in the background teasing Oz's journey to the land somewhere over the rainbow, promising much more fantastical elements of this story to come, but for now we're just happy to see some of that old school glamor that Franco previously promised us.

"Sam Raimi is I think a master of capturing a feeling of old Hollywood charm and matching it with the latest technology," Franco said. "So he's going to create the amazing world and take people to this place. The characters are very funny in a old Hollywood way."

    Franco OZ

According to the official plot synopsis for "Oz," the movie tells the origin story of the Wizard of Oz, who started as a circus magician but was transported from Kansas to Oz via hot air balloon. There he meets three witches—Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams)—who aren't quite sold on his wizard schtick. "Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well," the synopsis promises.

"Oz: The Great and Powerful" is due in theaters on March 8, 2013.

  • Exclusive 'Harry Potter' Concept Art From Upcoming Wizard's Collection

    Hogwarts

Now that the final "Harry Potter" movie has come out, Warner Bros. is putting together the ultimate DVD collection, packaging all eight films into one massive set. The "Harry Potter Wizard's Collection" will not only include films one through eight, but also a ton of extras and collectibles from the movies.

We are lucky enough to be able to bring you an exclusive look at one piece of memorabilia that comes with the "Wizard's Collection."

As part of the collection, several concept art sketches are included in the package. To celebrate the release, we have been given a drawing from "Harry Potter" production designer Stuart Craig.

Check out the full drawing after the jump!

The drawing from Stuart Craig shows the backside of Hogwarts. This bridge, as you probably recognize, is where Neville Longbottom faces a horde of Death Eaters during the final Battle for Hogwarts.

The drawing of one of a series that will be included in the box set, each coming with Craig's signature on it.

    Hogwarts

The "Harry Potter Wizard's Collection" with 31 discs in all will become available on September 7, but orders must be made by July 31, if you'd like to own the set.

  • 'Taken 2' Trailer: Liam Neeson Doing What He Does Best

    Taken 2

By this point in time, Bryan Mills and his family should have probably learned not to leave the country for exotic European vacations.

Are we the only ones who remember the traumatic events of "Taken," which was released only four years ago (and takes place only a year and a half before this movie)? Apparently so, since the first trailer for "Taken 2" opens with Liam Neeson's Bryan Mills taking his family—Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen—on a vacation to Istanbul. "Isn't dad the best?" Grace's Kim asks her mother in the trailer. We would argue no, since it only takes a matter of days for the Mills to be targeted and kidnapped by yet another group of criminals.

What Kim should have asked her mother was, "Isn't dad the most badass?" Because that we could have answered with a resounding, "Yes." Not only does he apparently carry a gun on him every time he leaves the country, but he also seems to have a gut feeling whenever he's about to have a family member kidnapped. Well, at least he's prepared for it.

"Taken 2" spins the franchise's premise on its head when its up to Kim to help her father and mother escape from the Albanian kidnappers who captured them. And of course those criminals are sort of right to seek revenge, as they're the parents of the many men Bryan brutally murdered for kidnapping his daughter in the first "Taken." Needless to say, much gun firing and ass kicking will ensue.

"The action is supposed to take place about a year or a year and a half after the first story. It's a very clever sequel with the usual thrills and spills, but the ante is upped quite a bit in this one," Neeson said in a recent interview. "They kidnap him to humiliate him, torture him, and ultimately bring him back to the village in Albania where the boys from the original film came from. With the help of my daughter... she wants to help me escape from where these bad guys have me."

  • 'Breaking Bad' Photos Hint A Tense Season Premiere

    Breaking Bad

When Season 4 of "Breaking Bad" ended last year, it was difficult to guess where the show was headed next. What was not so difficult to see was that things were probably going to go poorly.

Giving us our first look at the Season 5 premiere, a new set of photos gives us a hint of what's to come for Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

The photos come courtesy of E! Online, and return Walter, Jesse, and the viewers to a familiar location that hasn't been seen recently.

Check out the new photos from the fifth season of "Breaking Bad" after the jump!

The stills all take place in the same location and most likely during the same scene. Jesse, Walter and a third man stand in the same auto yard where the duo used to conduct their business meetings. With the lab and Gus completely out of the picture now, it seems that the pair is going back to how things used to be.

    Breaking Bad

In the photos, Walter still wears the bandages on his nose from the end of the Season 4, so expect the action to pick up soon after the nursing home explosion. Or Walter got his face punched again, which is entirely likely.

    Breaking Bad

The biggest talking point here has to be the return of Jonathan Banks as Mike. Gus' former bodyguard was mercifully spared a fiery death at the end of the last year, as he was stuck in Mexico, receiving medical treatment.

    Breaking Bad

Mike arrives in the junkyard, presumably aiming a gun at Walter and Jesse. The photo gives us a clue as to how Mike will react to news of Gus' death, but where will it go from there?

"Breaking Bad" returns to AMC on July 15.

  • 'Planet Of The Apes' Writers Hired For 'Jurassic Park 4'

    Jurassic Park 4

"Jurassic Park 4" is getting some help from writers who know a thing or two about rebooting a franchise.

Deadline is reporting that "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have been hired by Universal to write the script for the latest installment of the "Jurassic Park" franchise. This is the first we've heard of the planned continuation of Universal's hit series in literally a year.

Last June, it was reported that screenwriter Mark Protosevich had been meeting with "Jurassic Park" director Steven Spielberg to come up with some ideas for the fourth chapter in the series. We don't know what ended up happening with that, but it seems like Universal has gone in a different direction.

"Jurassic Park 4" isn't a reboot as far as we know, but Jaffa and Silver are still exciting choices for the project. We know thanks to "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" that these two can find the balance between creating a fresh new movie and honoring a classic series. If anyone can handle the daunting task of finding a way to make anyone care about a return to this franchise, it's probably them.

Deadline is also reporting that Spielberg will not be directing "Jurassic Park 4" (he will be producing, though). His plate is currently more than full with "Lincoln" bowing later this year, and "Robopocalypse" starting up sometime after that.

  • First Photos From 'Raging Bull 2' Emerge, Horrify

    Raging Bull

If you've ever seen "Raging Bull," the film's iconic opening credit sequence is likely burned in your brain. "Intermezzo" from "Cavalleria rusticana" plays as Robert De Niro gracefully bobs up and down in the stark tones of Martin Scorsese's now legendary use of black and white.

Well, the first stills from "Raging Bull 2" are the opposite of that.

The sequel, which actually exists and is actually filming right now in Los Angeles, has no creative connection to Scorsese's original. Neither he nor De Niro is involved in anyway. The "film" comes from the active imagination of writer/director Martin Guigui.

Check out the full photos after the jump.

"Raging Bull 2" will act as both a sequel and a prequel to the story told in "Raging Bull." The chronology begins with Mojean Aria playing Jake LaMotta as a young man, and then the story will shift to William Forsythe taking over the role.

    Raging Bull 2

According to Forsythe, this new version will have "a lot more heart" than "Raging Bull," by focusing on the parts of LaMotta's life that weren't interesting enough to make it into Scorsese's movie.

The only take away from these cheap-looking, poorly lit stills is that it's time to revisit the original (and only real) "Raging Bull." If you have never seen it, educate yourself, son. Simply put, it is one of the greatest films ever made. Go watch it now.

  • 'Prometheus': Find Out What David Said To The Engineer

    Prometheus David

    Obviously, spoilers ahead!

Of the unanswered questions still floating around the heads of anyone who saw and obsessed over "Prometheus," the un-subtitled line of dialogue David speaks to the Engineer seems like the one that most likely has a real objective solution.

What did David say that would have pissed off the Engineer so badly that he'd rip the poor, evil android's head clean off?

Well, it appears that we now have an answer. The Bioscopist (via Rope of Silicon) interviewed Dr. Anil Biltoo, the linguistic expert who advised the cast and crew on "Prometheus."

Click after the jump to learn what David said to the Engineer.

According to Biltoo, the secret line of dialogue is a rather simple one. David briefly explains why he and some guy in old man makeup are standing in the Engineer's ship.

This man is here because he does not want to die. He believes you can give him more life.

"More life" certainly rings of Roy Batty, doesn't it?

That single line was not the end of Biltoo's revelations, however. According to the good doctor, in the original cut of the film, David and the Engineer actually exchange a few lines. "We're all going to have to wait for the Director's cut to see if the conversation between the Engineer and David—and there was indeed originally a conversation, not merely an utterance from David—yields any fruit," he said.

We should have expected the answer to a question to lead to another question. We just got Prometheus'd.

How do you feel about the answer to this "Prometheus" question? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!
