- 'Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale Lands Record Deal!
Forget Rosewood's resident jailbirds, it's all about the city's songbirds. "Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale announced via Twitter today that she's landed a contract with Hollywood Records!
I can now share that I have recently been signed to Hollywood Records @https://twitter.com/HollywoodRecs">HollywoodRecs ! I couldn't be more excited to share my music with you
— Lucy Hale (@lucyyhale) June 12, 2012
Lucy added that the album would be, "diff from anything you've ever heard from the label and not what you'd expect from me. Thanks for the support!"
The almost-23-year-old (her birthday is on Thursday!) is no stranger to the mic, as she got her big break on the now-defunct teen version of "American Idol" called "American Juniors."
"Well, the whole reason I got brought out to L.A. [was] I grew up my whole life singing; that's what I wanted to do," Lucy told Hollywood Crush last year while promoting "A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song." "Acting wasn't even in the picture. I wanted to get a record deal. I was 15 at the time. The year before I had done 'American Juniors,' so we formed this group and we were signed to Jive Records. It was a great experience. I learned a lot about the music industry, and obviously that didn't work out. It was a little discouraging. I was still striving for it."
You know what they say about asking and receiving... And it probably goes without saying that Lucy will bring her A-game to the recording studio.
Congrats, Lucy, and Tweet Dreams!

Переслать - Selena Gomez Probably Won't Star In 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Adaptation
Selena Gomez had no problem going "Fifty Shades of Blue" in a Funny or Die parody co-starring Nick Kroll, but she'll leave the color Grey to someone else, thankyouverymuch.
When we caught up with Selena recently at New York's Macy's Herald Square for the launch of her new fragrance, the starlet admitted that she hasn't made it through E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel, despite her memorable video.
"I only read the beginning of it, because when they told me about the skit, I didn't know what it was about," she told MTV News. "So I started to read it, and I was like, 'Oh, this is spicy.' So I thought it was good, it was intriguing. Obviously, it's working, so the skit was really funny."
Though the 19-year-old acknowledged that she's taking on more adult roles in films like "Spring Breakers," this particular adaptation and the role of naive Anastasia Steele may be too adult for her.
"I don't think so. I know I'm taking risks, but I don't think I could do that!" she said. "That would be a little too much for me. I think someone older should do that part."
Honestly, we kinda agree with Selena. After all, we're used to seeing Alex Russo waving a wand—not being spanked with it.

Переслать - Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta Talk Worst 'Rock Of Ages' Outfits
With "Rock of Ages" out in theaters this Friday, it's about time for Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough to start thinking about their next move, line up a few more projects and generally move on from their moment of rock'n'roll, hair-band nostalgia. Only as you can see from this interview with the stars, Diego just isn't quite ready to stop believin' or let go of that feeeeeeeeeeelin'... when it comes to attending the school of rock.
"I had so much fun," he said. "The saddest moment was wrapping this film. I just want to stay in that moment and never leave!"
At which point MTV News' Amy Wilkinson pointed out the obvious: that in said moment, Diego was decked out in a pretty intense 1980s boy band outfit, sooooo...
"Not the boy band outfit!" Diego shrieked, setting a new record for on-camera reversals of recent statements. "Nooooooo!"
Hey, wow, dude. Tell us how you really feel! Which he did, adding, "I think it's the worst outfit in the movie. It even beats her bikini thing."
Which, in a movie that boasts some of the most jaw-droppingly insane outfits to appear on screen this year, is really saying something! Although Julianne, who took one for the team in a high-waisted 1980s string bikini, might not be ready to rescind the Worst Outfit title so readily—especially after hungry photographers splashed photos of her wearing said bikini all over the internet during the film's first week of production.
"It was the first day of shooting, there was literally paparazzi everywhere," Julianne remembered. "And all those pictures surfaced of us making out, [me] in the bikini... I don't have fond memories of that bikini bottom."
But, she added, that wasn't even the worst thing she wore for her "Rock of Ages" role; that title goes to a later ensemble, as Julianne said, "The worst one of all time—it's the worst and the best—was at the very end of the movie. It's the white, Steve Perry-inspired tails suit jacket."
The best and the worst, indeed. But mostly the best, right? ...Right? I mean, just curious! It's not that we got you one for your birthday or anything! (OMG BUT WE TOTALLY DID.)

Переслать - 'Golden Lily' Author Richelle Mead Promises Secrets And Romance
Everyone's favorite straight-laced alchemist Sydney Sage is back in Richelle Mead's latest "Bloodlines" novel "The Golden Lily," which hits bookstores and e-readers today!
After uncovering the misdeeds of a former Strigoi in the series' initial installment, Sydney is resettling into her new life at the Palm Springs boarding school where she's tasked with protecting royal Moroi Jill. But this is a Richelle Mead novel, meaning trouble is never far away from Sydney and her vampire co-horts (including "Vampire Academy" favorite Dimitri Belikov).
We recently called up Richelle to get the scoop on "The Golden Lily," the series' trajectory and that long-gestating "Vampire Academy" movie. Read our interview after the jump!
Hollywood Crush: What can fans look forward to in "The Golden Lily"?
Richelle Mead: I'd say the big things they can look forward to in this book are a lot more secrets about the supernatural world than we knew about in previous books. Those who were a little impatient with the slow-burn romance of book one, I think will be pleased with the way things develop in this, however those that are frustrated with Richelle Mead cliffhangers should prepare themselves.Did you actually get reader responses frustrated over the lack of romance in "Bloodlines"?
No one was mad or upset or anything like that. It was very much a slow burn—that's the word I keep using. It was subtle, and there wasn't a lot of it so there were readers coming off of 'Last Sacrifice,' which you know was the completion of a huge romance, and just sort of being reset back to the beginning they were like, 'I would have liked to see a little more.' But I think most people are good natured about it, and I think it makes them more excited for it... I know people are hoping to see a little bit more, so I'm hoping they won't be disappointed.I think all of my series are ultimately love stories despite everything—the action that's going on—so we'll see as the series progresses that that's the case as well.
Sydney is unlike many of your protagonists—I'm thinking Rose from "Vampire Academy" and Georgina Kincaid from your succubus series—in that she's much more reserved. Do you feel like you have to hold back when writing her?
I wouldn't say I have to hold back, but I have to find other ways for her to be strong and to assert herself, because one of the easiest ways is the kind of shouting-in-your-face confrontation or an actual physical confrontation, and that's not her style. You know, I think she is strong. I think she does it in quiet ways. And, again, to keep talking about the way the series progresses, we find her kind of bending the system and playing with the rules and finding ways to manipulate that world that others might not be aware of. Her strength comes in out-thinking. She doesn't need to be up in someone's face to assert herself.Speaking of the series' progression, how many "Bloodlines" books do you anticipate writing?
I'm aiming for six books—no more than that, for sure. The other day I was thinking about, 'Oh, maybe I could do it in five,' but I think it's six at the moment.Do you have your entire arc planned out, or do you let it take shape as you write?
I know where it starts, and I know where it ends, and I know the big beats along the way that have to happen to sort of move us along. Often those are the endings of the books, but sometimes it doesn't quite line up that way, which is why I say maybe five or six books. There's definitely an overarching plan and the details are what get filled in along the way.I assume you've started work on book three.
I actually turned in the rough draft of book three a few weeks ago, and I expect to get it back any day now with revision notes. So we're going to be in full force for that soon. You're definitely one of those authors who juggles multiple projects. What else is on your docket right now?
I'm working on a new adult series, which is scheduled to come out at the end of 2013. It's kind of a little futuristic/dystopian with a mix of supernatural stuff. It's a little different, but in some ways a lot of the elements and things I put into my books, people are going to recognize even with a different setting. The first book in that series is called, 'Gameboard of the Gods.' I'm doing a lot of research and groundwork for that now when I'm not working on [the third 'Bloodlines' book].I know we ask you this every time we talk to you, but any news on the "Vampire Academy" movie?
No, there is not. It's exactly the same as always. Preger Entertainment, who is shopping it around in Hollywood, has not had any takers yet, so we're all still waiting. We still have the graphic novel franchise going on, which is cool...so that's the closest we'll get to a visual of the characters [for now].At least we get to revisit some of our "Vampire Academy" favorites in "Bloodlines."
It's fun to be able to put them into different roles. It's neat to see our main characters through other peoples' eyes as they take on supporting roles. You never know, I might come back to Rose and Dimitri some day once I've had enough of a break. It's hard to let these guys go.Will we see Rose in a "Bloodlines" book?
Yeah, for sure we'll see Rose.Have you picked up your copy of "The Golden Lily" yet? Tell us what you think in the comments and on Twitter!
Переслать - Christian 'Fifty Shades Of' Grey May Spank You A Second Time
If you plowed through recent erotica phenomenon "Fifty Shades of Grey" and wound up, much like the hapless heroine of the trilogy, frantically titillated and begging for more, don't go retiring your flogger just yet! Because rumor has it, according to Gatecrasher, that author E.L. James is pondering a return to the same sexy story...only this time, from the point of view of billionaire Christian Grey. (Think of it as an S&M version of Stephenie Meyer's "Midnight Sun"...)
Needless to say, this news provokes a whole lot of questions. Like: Can this material sustain a second go-round through the spanking machine? Heck, can its readers? And what'll they call it—"Grey of 50 Shades"? "50 More Shades of Grey"? "The Billionaire Playboy's Guide To Angry Grab-A--"? ...Okay, obviously it'll be that last one. But most importantly: Would you want to revisit this story from the perspective of the man wielding the riding crop? No, really, tell us! Vote in our poll after the jump!

Переслать - Libba Bray's 'The Diviners' Optioned
In another optioning coup for a yet-to-be-published novel, Libba Bray's upcoming "The Diviners" has been purchased by Paramount on behalf of Fake Empire, otherwise known as the producing team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (the duo behind The CW's "Gossip Girl"), per Deadline.
Set in the roaring '20s, "The Diviners" follows teen Evie O'Neill, who's shipped off to New York City to live with her uncle following some dramz in her Ohio hometown. But what few know is that Evie's hiding a secret supernatural gift—one that will ensnare her in the age-old battle of good versus evil. With its mix of glitz, glamour and occult intrigue, "The Diviners" is a bit like "The Great Gatsby" meets "X-Men" with a side of Sherlock Holmes.
The novel doesn't hit bookstore shelves until September 18, but I was lucky enough to get my hot little hands on a copy at Libba's recent speakeasy-themed book party in downtown Manhattan. I'm about a third of the way through, and one of the first things I noted while reading was how very cinematic the prose is—this is certainly one novel deserving of the big-screen treatment.
How quickly the adaption will end up in theaters is another matter, seeing as Josh and Stephanie have quite a full slate. The two are working on a slew of films including "Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick," "Let It Snow," "The Luxe" and "The Likeness," as well as upcoming T.V. series "The Carrie Diaries" and "Cult."

Переслать - 'Catching Fire' Seeks Its Gamemaker In Philip Seymour Hoffman
So finely attuned is the Hollywood Crush team to all things Hunger Gamey, that even the most passing mention of news from the production of "Catching Fire" registers on our consciousness much like a Bat Signal ablaze in the night sky...which is why this newsy little Deadline piece about Philip Seymour Hoffman going agentless caused all of us to sit up and go, "WHAAAAT?" Just skip to the end and feast your eyes on the part where the author casually mentions that oh, by the way, rumor has it that Philip has been offered the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in "The Hunger Games" sequel.
This would be a perfect change of pace for the actor, whose recent roles have all been pretty challenging and rumpled-looking—after killing it in "Death of a Salesman" on Broadway, dude could use a little Capitol glitz and glamour in the part of Head Gamemaker for the Quarter Quell. Just imagine what an awesome beard he'd get to wear! And with very little info coming out of the "Catching Fire" casting process thus far, the tapping of the Oscar-winning PSH for this part is a heartening sign that director Francis Lawrence is taking his duties very seriously and stocking his movie with quality peeps. Will this be the first big get for the much-anticipated sequel? There's no comment from Lionsgate yet, but when there is, you'll be the first to know, because we are watching the internet like a hawk.

Переслать - Lea Michele Finishes Up 'Dorothy Of Oz'
With "Glee" on hiatus until the fall, songstress Lea Michele is turning her attention to another musical project: her upcoming animated movie "Dorothy of Oz," in which she voices the titular heroine.
Final ADR today for my animated movie Dorothy Of Oz! I can't wait to finally see the movie!! #DOZ
— Lea Michele (@msleamichele) June 11, 2012
The film picks up right where "The Wizard of Oz" left off, with Dorothy returning to Kansas—that is, until her new-found friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and (formerly Cowardly) Lion go missing. (And for those not in the know, ADR stands for "additional dialogue recording," meaning filmmakers are putting the finishing touches on the movie, which is due out sometime next year.)
We gave you your first look at the adorably drawn Dorothy nearly a year ago with an exclusive still straight from San Diego Comic-Con, and much like Lea, we can't wait to see the film in its full-length glory!
We'll be visiting Oz in our Tweet Dreams tonight!

Переслать - Brenda Song, Trace Cyrus Call Off Engagement
Apparently our fickle Celebrity Romance Overlords can manage only one Cyrus engagement at a time.
Hot on the heels of news Miley and her "Last Song" co-star Liam Hemsworth were headed to the altar comes word that bro Trace and his fiancee, "Social Network" actress Brenda Song, have called off their nuptials.
"Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways," Trace said in a statement to Just Jared Jr. "We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers. I wish Brenda the best and much success in the future. I hope everyone can respect our privacy about this situation. Thanks so much."
Trace announced the pair's engagement via Twitter in October 2011, following a flurry of pregnancy rumors, which never seemed to materialize into anything.
All we have to say is, good luck re-entering the dating pool, you two! At least with Miley and Liam accounted for, you'll have a little less competition out there.

Переслать - At Last, Lost 'Hunger Games' Tributes Speak!
It doesn't matter whether you've read all
fivethree books in the series from cover to cover and then some; even the most die-hard "Hunger Games" fans will be shocked and amazed when they feast their eyeballs on this brand-new, After Hours clip. Because here, for the first time in public, are some Panem citizens you might have missed: the movie's SECRET LOST TRIBUTES. Secret tributes like Chris Colfer, Chloe Moretz, ?uestlove, Max Greenfield and Jean-Claude Van Damme—who might not have gotten the screen time they deserved when the film hit theaters, but whose commitment to all things Hunger Gamey was nonetheless unassailable!...Sorry, what's that? These people were never anywhere near "The Hunger Games"? Well, if that's true, then maybe you should explain how Max Greenfield got so good at balloon-animal survival techniques, huh? YEAH. THAT'S WHAT WE THOUGHT.
Thanks to the skinny from the Games' lost tributes, we've learned things never previously known about just how it all went down in the arena—from "Hunger Games" hair-care routines to the presence of a fantabulous DJ spinning tunes during the bloodbath at the cornucopia. (Which, strangely, didn't make the final cut; said ?uestlove, "I guess they thought that DJ-ing while kids were murdering each other was kind of inappropriate... I don't see it." Nor do we, sir!) And with Amber Rose finally breaking the silence on her presence in the movie as a master-of-disguise...well, let's put it this way: Are you 100 percent sure that was Wes Bentley playing Seneca Crane?
Because we're not. Like, at all.
