  • Star Spotting: Jared Leto Holds A Guitar, And Just Like That, We're Hypnotized

Jared Leto handles a guitar. WHY aren't we that guitar?

We spend tons of time ogling Jared Leto's AH-MAZING life at his blog, Notes from the Outernet. But let's not forget the real reason we stalkerishly worship admire the man -- his mad musical skills.

The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman was snapped passionately rocking on the ax, then shared the photo on the band's Twitter (for all of us to drool over) along with the caption "STRINGS." We've been so distracted following all his adventures (i.e. chilling with sailors and hanging with David Beckham) that we nearly forgot that his band is heading back to the studio to work on their fourth album!

No word whether this pic was taken during the recording process or even what the album will sound like, but if the forthcoming record can hypnotize us the same way this hot pic did... well, let's just say his new tunes could sound like a bunch of inaudible moaning and we'd still go cray. Did that come off kinda dirty? OK good. (Not sorry.)

  • Lucy Hale Will Put Out Music On Hollywood Records! No Lie!

Lucy Hale is the newest member of Hollywood Records!!!

It's been QUITE the busy month for Lucy Hale. Along with her dramatic day job on "Pretty Little Liars," which just started its third season, Lucy is adding a new title to her résumé: rising music superstar. Following in the footsteps of other Hollywood Records label mates like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale's pulling double duty as an actress and a singer. Two-fer! However, Lucy may differ a bit from Demi and Selena by bringing a country pop sound to the mix, since Aria Lucy cites Shania Twain and Faith Hill as her early musical influences.

As far as Lucy's concerned though, she tweeted, "Its going to be diff from anything you've ever heard from the label and not what you'd expect from me."

While details are still under wraps about her forthcoming record, we're still way into her stint as a guest host on Punk'd. Go watch that while we blow into a dandelion puff and hope this actresses-turned-singers thing spreads, because we'd also really like albums from Emilia Clarke and Jessica Paré. And also Joe Manganiello.

  • Watch Tommy & The High Pilots' Acoustic 'Buzzworthy Live' Performance Of 'Where To Start' (VIDEO)

Tommy of Tommy & The High Pilots is practically FORCING us to fall in love with him.

You know what we mainly really love about Tommy of folksy Santa Barbara indie-pop act Tommy & The High Pilots? Everything. Of particular note: the perfectly popped plaid collar that sits right alongside the ridge of what's likely his vintage wool sweater. The strategically coiffed wisp of hair that covers just enough of his eye to appear mysterious yet inviting. But, in the interest of not sounding shallow (probably too late, since we are shallow but well meaning), we'll add this exclusive "Buzzworthy Live" acoustic version of "Where To Start" to that list.

Watch Tommy  & The High Pilots' "Buzzworthy Live" acoustic performance of "Where To Start" after the jump.

Tommy stopped by Buzzworthy to record a heart-wrenching version of the Tommy & The High Pilots' song "Where To Start." (Mumford & Sons and Beirut fans, PAY ATTENTION.) Armed with only his voice and a guitar, Tommy's timeless, vibrato-leaning vocals were in full effect, giving his emotional lyrics an even greater canvas upon which to shine: "I'm riding the train/With every hopeless wannabe/And pickin' my brain/Procrastinatin' destinations/Out in the rain/'Cause I don't know where to start." OH, WAIT, I know. How about you start by dating me? I'll even pay. (Did I say too much again? I probably did.)

  • New Video: Regina Spektor, 'Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)'

Regina Spektor's asks us not to leave. As if we would ever!

We've been fans of hyper-literate, hyper-melodic Regina Spektor ever since we saw the princess of folk-pop open up for The Strokes back in 2003. Almost a decade after she dropped her 11:11 debut, Regina unfurled her "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)" video at VH1. "Don't Leave Me" is the latest from her What We Saw from the Cheap Seats album, which we've been jamming consistently since its release in May. And given our level of Stan-ship, you probably can''t even imagine how enamored we are of the new video, so just stop trying.

Oh, and apparently we're not alone. Regina's new album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. For way longtime listeners of Regina, some may recognize the song from her self-released album Songs, but the rest of us are treated to a re-imagined version of the pop plea not to go. Don't worry Regina, we won't.

  • Gratuituous GIFs Of Usher Shirtless

Today Usher releases his seventh studio album, Looking 4 Myself. And while Usher spends some time looking for himself, we'll be spending even time looking at him. Specifically at those abs. I mean, come ON. If you're Usher -- and trust me, you're not -- you've clearly spent as much time at the gym as you have writing paeans to panty-dropping and rarely writing out the entirety of the word "you." And if you're Errshr, you've earned the right to take off your shirt in at least one video per album. So behold: Our GIF collection of our favorite flavor of Usher: shirtless. Take that, rewind it back.

  • Eek! Lady Gaga Got Some SERIOUS Bruises After That Concussion! (PHOTO)

    Lady Gaga WERQUE-ing that concussion.

Lady Gaga goes in hard, guys. Mother Monster was struck in the head with a metal pole while performing "Judas" during the third of three shows in New Zealand. What's more, even though she had a full-on concussion, The Lady decided to keep going and trudge her way through a whopping 16 more songs. Gaga explained to the audience, "I want to apologize. I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion. But don't you worry, I will finish this show." There really ain't no stopping The Gags, is there?

Shockingly, Gaga is an actual mortal (we always kinda believed her to be a pop star bot sent from an unexplored planet) and wasn't able to overtake the progression of human bodily reactions. Read: she looks banged the eff up! Along with a pic of her sporting several gnarly bruises, Gaga tweeted, "Emerging from hours of sleep. Still remiss if I should go outside, with this clonker I may be of questionable styling." UMM, questionable styling? Is anyone going to call out the fact that even while laid up in bed with a head injury, Gaga is still working some perfectly applied red lipstick? At least on the off chance she ever ends up in a body cast (God forbid!) she can always rely on HER HAIR.

  • New Song: Justin Bieber Featuring Nicki Minaj, 'Beauty And The Beat'

Justin Bieber's and Nicki Minaj's "Beauty And The Beat" is about to make your summer.

Forget your firstborn and wedding day. Can we all just agree that when Justin Bieber's Believe arrives (June 19!) it's going to be the day you tell your grandchildren about? And if the collabo-oriented tunes "Right Here" and "As Long As You Love Me" haven't already melted your speakers, we're positive Justin and Nicki Minaj's "Beauty And The Beat" collaboration will blow what's left of your mind.

Listen to Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj in "Beauty And The Beat" after the jump!

"Beauty And The Beat" tackles a jumpy bass and energetic vibe clearly intended for clubs and work-out playlists. While the majority of Bieber's latest Believe tunes tend to swish with swag, this one totally instigates an instant dance party with the command to "party like it's 3012" (not sure what that exactly means, maybe lots of robot moves?). Nicki Minaj shows up towards the end to add some sparkle to the already shimmering track. But the song's mostly about dancing with your ladypiece: "Cause all I need is a beauty and a beat/ Who can make my life complete/ It's all by you, when the music makes you move."

We're pretty positive Justin wrote the song about Selena Gomez -- who even gets a shout out from Nicki -- but we also can't stop thinking about animated singing candle sticks and Belle's ball gowns. (Because we're dorks.)

  • Sky Ferreira, Charli XCX, Wynter Gordon + More: Top 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs Of The Week

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

This week's round-up features a knock-out debut single by a brand new "X Factor" alum, as well as some crunchy tunes by two of my favorite alt-pop princesses. And now that summer's in full swing, we've got a few anthems made for frolicking under the sun all day. Or your cubicle.

    1.) Sky Ferreira, "Red Lips"

Alt-indie-pop goddess, fashion "It girl" and all-around musical savior Sky Ferreira is finally returning to music properly to relieve of us this Ferreira-less drought with her first new release in months: "Red Lips." Teaming up with Shirley Manson (!!!) and pop producer Greg Kurstin, Ferreira's crafted an incredible, snarling new anthem that would fit snugly somewhere between Garbage's discography -- her very own "Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go)." "Such a big girl, such big talk, such big news," Ferreira sarcastically croons on the crashing, menacing chorus.

Though the crashing drums and guitars are a slightly new sound for the previously electro-pop minded princess (a la "One"), it's a nice reminder that Sky's got way more than one genre up her sleeves. Pucker up!

+ LISTEN TO SKY FERREIRA'S "RED LIPS"

Listen to more Must-Hear Pop Songs Of The Week after the jump!

2.) Charli XCX, "You're The One"

LDN club kid and goth-pop princess Charli XCX has been on the fast track to superstardom over the past year, having unleashed "Stay Away" (one of my Top 10 songs of last year, hands down) and "Nuclear Seasons," a springy, '80s-infused mixture of Gwen Stefani's bubble pop and Marina And The Diamonds' dramatic dark-pop.

"You're The One," the lead track off of her debut U.S. EP (out today) proves that she's got plenty to offer when her debut LP finally rolls around. Quivering on top of a gritty, winding synthesized beat that brings The Knife's "Heartbeats" to mind, Charlie gets positively swoon-y -- well, Charli style: "You're the one that came along and unlocked the cage/ Now I'm dancing in the dark," Charli cries, trembling above the bouncy chorus. It's everything Charli's best at: dark, deadly and entirely danceable.

+ LISTEN TO CHARLI XCX'S "YOU'RE THE ONE"

3.) Wynter Gordon, "Still Getting Younger"

Last year, NYC native and dance floor queen Wynter Gordon released With The Music I Die EP stateside, an unbelievable collection of next-level dance pop productions like "Til Death" and "Buy My Love." At long last, she's just released a video for "Still Getting Younger," a gorgeous electronica production crafted alongside Empire Of The Sun's Nick Littlemore.

Breaking out the big (water) guns, Gordon and her beau do some serious damage on the Brooklyn rooftop, all while set to the tune of her sparkling gem, perfectly timed as a must-have for your summer soundtrack. "Our love will never end!" she cries aloud. Jump in the car and pump this one loud with the windows down -- I promise you'll feel infinite, Catcher In The Rye style.

+ LISTEN TO WYNTER GORDON'S "STILL GETTING YOUNGER"

    4.) Misha B, "Home Run"

"X Factor U.K." has dealt us our fair share of overnight superstars, from Leona Lewis to Alexandra Burke to One Direction. Now, one of the newest alums of the massively successful franchise has come full-force with her debut single: Misha B. With "Home Run," the fourth place finalist's debut single across the pond, the twentysomething songstress teamed up with 17 year-old producer/pop wunderkind MNEK for a bold, slightly insane o'clock introduction to the world filled with grinding beats, synths, and finger-snaps. Is it a power ballad? Dubstep? Drum and bass? Dance? Reggae? The answer to all these questions: Yes. With shades of Rihanna, Cher Lloyd and Katy B, I don't know exactly what Misha's done (done done), but it's a home run.

+ LISTEN TO MISHA B'S "HOME RUN"

    5.) Alexandra Stan, "Lemonade"

If like myself, you've ever caught yourself thinking, "Man, I wish there was a song about having no money and sipping a refreshing beverage by the same songstress who brought us last Year's sax-y club smash, 'Mr. Saxobeat,'" YOU'RE IN LUCK. Romanian Queen of Pop Alexandra Stan is back for more, squeezing together a heaping helping of Ace of Base dark reggae-dub beats and some accordion to boot! "Sunny, happy rhythm music, no money, I'm taking you on holiday/ Sippin' yellow lemonade," Stan merrily croons on the feel-good chorus. Between the delightfully nonsense lyrics, impossibly catchy groove (and a fashionable dubstep breakdown too!), you'd be hard pressed to turn down a glass of what Stan's serving this summer.

+ LISTEN TO ALEXANDRA STAN'S "LEMONADE"

Bradley Stern is a writer from Connecticut. In his spare time, he enjoys organizing his Britney Spears CD collection in reverse chronological order and plotting the various ways in which he will bring down Katy Perry to become Rihanna's best friend. But most of all, he spends his time tweeting musing daily about pop music on his blog, MuuMuse.

  • Kitty Pryde Remixed 'Call Me Maybe,' And It Sounds Like How Benadryl Feels

Listen to Kitty Pryde's remix of Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe.'

Upstart Florida rapper Kitty Pryde is no stranger to virality. She almost broke the internet in May with her "Okay Cupid" video and the deluge of opinions that followed. (You know what they say about opinions! Everybody poops! Wait... I did that wrong...) The self-appointed "rap game Taylor Swift" just released a new EP called haha i'm sorry, which features a remix of another viral star, Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." We're surprised she has the time to rap with her part-time job.

On her version "Give Me Scabies" (LOL), Kitty Pryde slows the beat waaaaaay down and rhymes about missing her dude with a bizarre smooth sax (that almost comes off as bagpipes) laid over the familiar hit. The 19-year-old rapper found fame on Tumblr, and in a few short months she's hanging with the likes of rhymers such as Danny Brown and Riff Raff. Not bad for a girl peddling plastic jewelry in the mall.

We haven't heard the reaction from Carly yet, but we're pretty sure it'll become one of her obsessions as soon as she hears it... if she's into remixes that sound like a Robo-trip.

  • Taylor Swift Plays Fetch With Her Cat (Who May Be A Dog) (VIDEO)

Taylor chilling with her cat, Meredith.

At this point it's just getting rude, Taylor Swift. Have you no respect for the integrity of other cat-owner relationships? Do you not get that when you consistently post videos of your cat acting like a human and/or looking like a perfect stuffed animal it makes other cat-owners feel inferior?

We're mainly losing our brains because nothing in this strip-mall-covered nation thrills us more than admiring Taylor Swift and her cat. And today's offering is no exception. Taylor tweetedViddy of herself and Meredith playing fetch -- as in the activity specifically crafted for dogs. Naturally, Taylor is wearing a princess-style sundress (because she's a mythological  nymph made entirely of teardrops and sparkles), and as she throws a treat, Meredith the cat completes her fetching duties like the most brilliant dog you've ever seen. So what have we learned? Taylor Swift is an overachiever, and so is her DAMN CAT.
